Software 2.2.1 Stops loading

Trying to load the latest software upgrade 2.2.1 having a problem with it stopping with as high as 107 mb loaded out of 248.2 mb says network connection, never had this problem before. Tried turning off firewall still stopped. Any ideas?

This can also be an anti-virus issue. Try turning that off for the download. Oh, and to set the record straight on 2.2.1, it was a minor upgrade to fix a few things that may or may not be a problem for you. These were skipping during playback of lossless compressed songs, fuzzy photos from images saved from Safari, and one other minor gotcha.

  • Firefox ver. 3.6 stopped loading pages of any kind. Even Google or Facebook! Maybe it's because I tried to download a program that didn't even open up. All other browsers work normally.

My Firefox ver. 3.6 stopped loading pages of any kind. Even Google or Facebook! I don't know how this happened. May it is because I tried to download a program that didn't even open up.... But I don't know how to make it work. All other browsers work normally, and I'm scanning for viruses even though my anti-virus did not warn me of anything... I tried to download a keygen and this is what happened. I can't figure out what it is. Not a connection problem. I even tried to uninstall an re-install firefox, but still nothing worked.

Your issue may be caused by Malware. You can run and update the following '''free''' anti virus software:

  • Webpages intermittently stop loading, it is as if there is no longer any internet connection, however internet is fine because Chrome and IE can display pages.

Webpages will simply stop loading, the connecting logo spins as if it is trying to connect but nothing ever loads. Even after closing Firefox, the firefox process in task manager will not disappear by itself and has to be deleted manually, until it is deleted, Firefox cannot be loaded. Other browsers (Chrome & IE) continue to load pages fine when this happens.
This problem has been going on for a while now but getting gradually worse. I am now at the stage where webpages will stop loading after about 10-15 mins. The problem appears to only happen when I have visited a page that requires the flash plugin to work. After reading other related entries in this support forum, I can safely say that I think Flash is the problem. Whenever the plugin is disable the problem never happens. Flash also appears in the crash reports from FF. See below for my system stats.
    Windows 7 64 Bit
    FF24
Flash = 11.8.800.168 with hardware acceleration turned off
    Flash Protected mode = 0
Number of net connections in FF = 64 (same problem occurs with 256 or 48 connections)
Virus Killer = Bit Defender (Firefox is registered as an exception). Problem happens even with virus software disabled.
Computer is certified clean of malware, spyware and viruses.
I can see that this is a reoccurring problem that seems to pop-up with different FF versions.
I have tried all of the suggested solutions on other posts, including various types of full reinstall but to no avail.
Finally, I am not prepared to reinstall Windows over this so please do not bother offering this as a solution, furthermore, I am not prepared to downgrade my Flash to a less safe version, especially when other browsers can work with Flash with no problems.
I look forward to hearing a solution.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

  • Safari, firefox both stopped loading images suddenly

Everything was working great, then suddenly both safari and firefox stopped loading all images. Ebay, Amazon, Netflix and so on, even the mac store site will not load the images. I am using Safari 6. I have done all the updates, cleared all the caches, did all the suggested things the forums said. Change DNS and so on, nothing is working. I don't understand how this could happen. Can someone please help!!!

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • My Macbook Pro will not stop loading at the start up page!

you know the start up page that appears when you press the power button, the blue ish white one with the apple logo on the middle and a circular loading thing? Well mine won't stop loading. I left it on all night and it  still hasnt finished loading. Its the circular one that just  goes around and around. Helpme! Wjat should I do??

Seeing the white,  blue or gray screen with spinning thing for too long is a sign of trouble
It's called the "gray screen" and you can hopefully hold down the Shift key on a wired keyboard when rebooting to let the machine enter safe mode, then backup your data off the machine in case it's a failing hard drive and then go around uninstalling, updating reinstallling all your third party software.
If that doesn't fix it then a #18 Reinstall Just OS X usually does the trick too
go through the steps here one by one or have someone take a look at your machine
Step by Step to fix your Mac
Mac won't boot or "You need to restart"
Create a data recovery, undelete boot drive

  • Firefox stops loading pages after trying to open a heavy page

firefox stops loading pages after trying to open a page with alot of pictures etc, with big size. it just keeps on loading pages with no result.
my internet is fairly low speed so i take my time but this happened each time i tried to open such sites.
even when i close that '''tab''' and try to open just '''google.com''' , it wont load.
its solved after closing and opening firefox again . but happens again if i try to open the same heavy site

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Shared music and movie library stops loading

The shared iTunes music and movie library stops loading on my ios devices.
iTunes 11.1.5 is set up for both home sharing and library sharing over my secured home wifi network. Home sharing between the mini that is running iTunes and my old Macbook works without any issues.
My ios devices can see and will eventually connect to the shared library but connecting is pretty slow unless the ios devices are in the same room with the mini.
After a few hours my ios connection to the shared music and movie library drops and stops loading halfway when I try to reconnect.
The ipad is running ios 7.1 and my iPhone is running ios 6.1.3.

    Hi Jay Clay and Hagerty,
I'm in the same boat.  I'm running iTunes 11.2.2 on a Macbook Pro (running 10.9.3) and iOS 7.1.1 on an iPhone 4s; so running the latest version of software is not the issue.
The username logs in correctly on all devices and I can actually see the iTunes library available to share on my device.  From "Music" on the phone, I go to "More > Shared" and then select the library that is shared from my Macbook.  So I know that the login information is correct.
The circular status wheel begins to load and gets halfway around before it stalls and does not resume.  This process happens repeatedly, so it's reproduceable and consistent -- not a one-time issue.
I've tried restarting both systems, but the same problem ensues.  I've also tried signing out and signing back into Home Sharing on all devices, which did not resolve the issue.  I've read and followed all the recommendations in "Troubleshooting Home Sharing", but these really only offer solutions if you're not able to see the shared library; which is not the issue that I believe Jay Clay, Hagerty and I are having.
    Some thoughts:
Could it be that the iTunes library is too large?
Could it be that Home Sharing times out if the library is not loaded in a set amount of time?
I've attached a screenshot of what I'm seeing on my iPhone, for your reference.
Also, here is the confirmation page I'm seeing in iTunes, so Home Sharing appears to be working.
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • My pro will not stop loading ...

    hi,
i have a mac book pro that's a few months old. last nite the software was updating and it looked like it would take a while and so i quit and it didn't seem to stop........i waited it and decided to restart (by pressing the start up button for a bit to shut down and then started up again) and when i did go back on it would not stop loading.......the mac intel update that i had been updating was to take a long time (about an hour at the longest) so i let it reload for about an hour and it never stopped........i shut it down again for a while and did it again and still nothing......same for this morning.
i do not have apple care and am past the 90 day tech help so i guess the option would be to send it back to apple because my warrranty is still good......before i do i thought i would try here and see if anyone has any ideas.....like inserting the original software and do that start up thing by hitting certain keys.........i just don't want to void the warranty...any ideas?

Sounds like you had a corrupted system prior to updating. You may be able to restore without erasing the hard drive.
How to Perform an Archive and Install
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.
Note: Do the following to repair the hard drive.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • Some flash players suddenly stopped loading.

About a week ago many of the regular online videos I watch stopped loading. I have windows 7 and run firefox as my browser. Over the week I've browsed various websites and help forums and attempted many different things but none have worked so far. Now when I say they do not load I mean the player itself loads, but the little loading reticle never stops spinning.
Examples that do not load for me:
https://blip.tv/day9tv/day-9-daily-201-newbie-tuesday-using-drops-4288759 (No video from this user loads)
http://roosterteeth.com/archive/?id=3450 (no video from this website load)
Examples that do load and work fine:
    Youtube
    Megavideo
https://blip.tv/sotg/starcraft-2-state-of-the-game-ep46-5474587 (This video loads perfectly fine but the other link from the same website from a different user does not load)
The only thing out of the blue that I have done recently was update to firefox 6.0, before doing this I believe my videos worked fine. I'm not sure if they stopped working right after the update or a few days after.
    Things I've tried:
    Clear Cache
Ran FF (Firefox) in safe mode
    Updated flash
    Uninstalled and reinstalled flash
I've ran various my anti virus, anti spyware, and antimalware software
(Spyware Search & Destroy, AdAware, Malware Anti-Malware Bytes)
I'm fairly certain I have tried more things but those are the only that come to mind at the moment. Help would be greatly appreciated. I miss my videos
Lastly, just to reiterate the flash player loads, but the videos do not. The reticle for loading will starts spinning and never stop.
    Thanks

I am having a similar problem. When I try to view any video from any website which lasts more than 1:30 minutes, it freezes and no longer works.  I've tried the same things that you are reporting, but I've tried one more thing that works: I've noted that this annoying thing is happening to me since I've installed Windows 7 service pack 1, and once I've uninstalled it, the problem solves itself. Is there any other solution to this problem? It's driving me crazy!!
I must apologize for not giving more details. I have the latest version of (of course) Flash player, Internet explorer, Mozilla, Opera (I have even tried with Google chrome) Windows 7 service pack 1, and I have an Asus F5 Laptop with the latest version of the Nvidia drivers. It's something strange because this problem it's not because of the web browser (it happens to me with all browsers). I have tried with many Flash player versions, uninstalling and reinstalling, and the only thing that worked for me was when I realized that one of the things I had recently changed was that service pack. Once I've uninstalled service pack 1, it works for me with all web browsers....
But what can I do to work with Windows 7 service pack 1 and Flash player in Web browsers?????

  • Firefox stops loading pages and hoses internet connection for all other apps

Running Firefox 3.6.3; XP sp3; FSecure Client Security 9
After using Firefox for a while - sometimes a few minutes, sometimes a few hours, it will stop loading pages. If I click on a link, nothing happens. The program still responds to key / mouse input, but refuses to load any new pages. Furthermore, it stops all internet connections from my machine, so that IE and Opera stop working. I think it also stops email, but I am not sure.
If I quit Firefox, the process is still running and I have to quit it manually from Task Manager. That solves the problem and internet connections are restored.
I have tried in safe mode, I have tried removing all extensions, I have tried deleting my profile and doing a clean re-install. It's driving me crazy. Any thoughts?

  • Safari randomly stops loading current webpage and any links on the page, usually for 10-15 minutes, but will load other pages in that time just fine.

My Safari and Firefox randomly and unpredictably will stop loading whatever page I'm on and will not load any links on that page. When I do click a link on the page, the progress bar will hold at about 1/8 of the way and will not proceed. I can go to another web page and it will load fine, and I can click links on that page just fine. But when I return to the affected page, it still refuses to load. It will usually start working normally again after I visit another page and come back to it after 10-15 minutes. Nothing I have done so far has seemed to help this issue. I've tried clearing the history/website data, quitting and restarting safari, I reset the PRAM, all to no avail.
I'm running a mid 2010 macbook pro with Yosemite.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  • Why does firefox stop loading then when i close it and try to open it up again I keep getting this message:Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system

Firefox will just stop loading/ connecting to the internet. The gray circle will just continually move but it never turns green to load the pages. I know it's not my internet because my internet explorer works just fine while this is happening to firefox. So I close firefox and then try to re open it but I get the message: Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system. So I wait a little bit then try and re open it and still get the same message. I then go into my windows task manager and try and end the firefox proccess but it won't end. So I restart my computer and firefox eventually starts acting up again.

For possible causes of this error, and how to troubleshoot it see [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]].
