Software ASA CX Installation propblem

Hello,
I have two ASA firewalls configured in failover. I was trying to install software CX module on both. However, on secondary ASA its giving problem and not showing up in the "show module cx detail". I am attaching the output of same command on both ASA. If anyone can please help to resolve it.
Btw, I also did reimaging which didn't help either. Is there a way to proble whether the image downloaded on the ASA doesn't contain any error. Thanks.

Hi Marvin,
Yes I can log into PRSM GUI. Here is the output of "show module":

I'm sorry no-one has answered you yet - I'm afraid I don't know the answer to the question: but I wanted to put into your mind that starting up with AppleWorks at this stage isn't a good idea. The program was 'end-of-lifed' years ago, it won't run on Lion, and some of the document types created in it - Databases in particular - cannot be opened at all by any other program whatever. Word Processing documents can be opened in Pages, and Spreadsheets in Numbers (with some reservations in both cases), but building up a collection of AppleWorks documents at this stage is going to lead to problems later on.
It's difficult to know what to recommend for a PowerPC machine that would still be compatible with modern ones. An older version of Microsoft Office, perhaps, if you can find one which will run on PPC; but most of the modern Word Processors are Intel only. This is something you would need to investigate.

  • Software Updated-Based Installation Conundrum

To my understanding, software update-based installation of the Config Manager client agent works by importing it into WSUS (which is a requisite component for the server with the software update point role) where it is classified as a critical
    update. So far so good.
However, while a WSUS server can automatically approve an update's installation, the actual download and installation of an update is dependent upon the configuration of a client's Windows Update
policy. This local policy needs to be configured to use the SUP server as its WSUS server, and it likely must have some kind of schedule to download and install the update (unless someone is taking upon themselves the unenviable task of manually
    updating computers).
Thus, it would seem to make good sense to use an Active Directory group policy to ensure that these WSUS settings are configured correctly on computers when they join a company's domain. Unfortunately, in my environment we've found that such a
group policy creates a conflict, because once a computer has the Config Manager client, SCCM will then require uncontested control over the Windows Updates policy. The resultant conflict causes update deployments to fail with a "group policy
conflict" error and, worse still, client computers will wind up running two separate SVCHOST processes that result in uncontrolled memory consumption.
I've contacted Microsoft software assurance support on this issue, and they found it no less a catch-22 than I have. I'd be interested to hear how others handle SU-based installation effectively in their environment. I suppose in many places, it's simply
effected on workstation images. In others, perhaps the settings are applied directly as registry edits in group policy preferences. I'd be especially interested to find out if anyone has created a WMI filter than can distinguish clients with the agent from
    those without it.

Some of your understanding above is sort of correct. Ultimately, WSUS is *only* used within ConfigMgr to download the update catalog from Microsoft and make it available to clients. That's it. The Windows Update Agent (WUA) is still used, however, it does
so by direction of the ConfigMgr agent which means that nearly all of the settings in group policy for Windows Update are meaningless in a ConfigMgr environment.
Jason, thanks for the response. It seems you're impugning my understanding while simultaneously reiterating my explanation. Either I was unclear, or I'm not grocking the distinction you're trying to draw. Let's see if we can get on the same
    page.
To summarize, SU-based installation results in the client being treated as an approved update on the WSUS component, and then it's downloaded and installed according to the schedule defined in the client's Windows Update policy. Once the client
is installed, Config Manager takes over and updates are centrally managed through deployments issued to collections.
However, perhaps where we're having a disconnect is that, going forward, computers which don't have the agent yet still require Windows Update to be configured for them to ensure they download and install it. New computers come into the
environment perpetually. Applying a group policy in AD would seem an ideal solution, but in practice such a policy has created the aforementioned conflict on computers that do have the agent.
I have actually read your blog posts during the course of researching this issue, as well as many others. They largely treat WSUS configuration via AD GPO's as undesirable in concert with SU-based installation (for reasons that you outline) but
they don't concern themselves with how administrators can be assured that new arrivals consistently download and install the client agent via SU-installation method.

  • Software and Driver Installation for HP Officejet 7310 Crash on my new laptop running Windows 8.1

I am trying to load the software and drivers for my hp Officejet 7310 on my brand new Lenovo laptop which runs windows 8.1.  I had successfully loaded the software last week.  Unfortunately I lost the disk drive on my 2 week old computer. The store gave me another brand new Lenovo laptop.  On the new laptop I get errors when I try to load what I think is the same software that I loaded on the other computer a week ago.  I downloaded the software from the hp website.
The driver software download fine.   Originally it then unzipped and a nice interface came up.  I think I clicked the load button.  A message box came up saying that it could not find a certain file in appData\local\temp\7xxx...  I tried the download and install several more times.  I think I then did windows updates and registered my version of office.  I was thinking that with the other computer I must have had the computer in a different state such that the drivers and software installed without a hitch.
Things seem to have gotten worse.  I do not get as far.  It still downloads fine but now after unzipping rather than the nice interface with the "load" button I get the a message box.
The latest error is in a message box with the heading "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library".  The error says that Program:c:\users\...\appData\local\temp\7zS4237\setup.exe  This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
I was able to connect the printer through the "add Printers" and am not actually too worried about having the whole "HP Solution" with the scanning interface.  I am worried that this error will cause me problems in the future with other things.  Thanks in advance for any help.
I saw similar issuesdiscussed on the web and have tried several things.  I really do not want to reload the OS and start again.  We have barely used the system and I have no idea how this problem occurred and so I would not know how to prevent it from happening again.  I did stop and start the print service.  I was tempted to "totally unload the hp print drivers" but the file names in the posted instructions did not exactly match my files.  Another post mentioned making sure that I had the latest version of Adobe Flash Player loaded.  I went to the adobe site and it said that it is part of windows 8.1's internet explorer.  I ran the test and it seemed to work.
Could the HP installation failure have corrupted my version of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Karen_M2,
    Thank you for your response!
The HP software does require the C ++ run-time libraries in order to install correctly. Please see this guide, Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error May Display When Installing Certain Printers.
Here are the differences between the four types of uninstall:
    1
Removes the Windows device discovery (Plug and Play) entries from the Windows registry. After running level 1, connect the USB cable to the all-in-one and let Windows try to discover the device again.
    2
Performs Level 1 and removes the software drivers. After running level 2, run the all-in-one installer and use the "Add a new device" option to attempt to reinstall the all-in-one again.
    3
Performs Levels 1 and 2 and removes the HP Photo and Imaging software. You must completely reinstall the all-in-one software after running level 3.
    4
Performs Levels 1, 2 and 3, and removes HP Software Update. You must completely reinstall the all-in-one software after running level 4.
If you have an HP computer I would not recommend the L4 uninstall as it would also uninstall any other HP software you have installed besides your printer.
Definitely continue going through the post I had provided, Re: Error message Microsoft visual c++ runtime library.
If that still does not resolve your issue, or you cannot uninstall using one of the four methods above, then try the following:
    Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Disable any antivirus programs. How to Disable Antivirus in Windows 8?
Disable any firewall programs. Windows Firewall from start to finish.
Create a new user account. Managing User Accounts and Logins (Windows 8).
Reinstall using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
Hope this information helps, and have a good day!

  • NM7.1: Regarding Software Package Silent Installation Issue

    Dear Experts,
I am working on NM7.1, & I tried of creating a Software Package which will include MI client installation, JRE, MaxDB, MCD all in one. For this I zipped MaxDB folder which I downloaded from SMP & uploaded it to NWA, created a software package from NWA 7.1, downloaded it & tried installing it. It executed properly.
Now I wish to create a Software Package which can be installed in Silent mode.
For this, I went through NM71 help documentation & maintained JRE components  Silent Command Line Parameter field value as - /qn ADDLOCAL=ALL IEXPLORER=1 INSTALLDIR=<Drive:>\java\jre.
Other components like MaxDB doesn't allow to maintain this parameter field value in NWA, neither MCD nor SETUP_WIN32.
So I downloaded this Software package & clicked on MassDeviceSetup_Silent.bat file for silent installation.
It started of & installed JRE but later it didn't proceeded further. I kept it running for almost 2 days, but then too nothing happened further.
I have attached the StandardMDSLog file at below link for your reference, please analyze it.

I feel that I am missing something.
    Please guide me further....
    Thanks in advance.

  • Software Update and Installer no longer work

I have a PowerMac G5 tower and a iBook G4. Both were prompted to automatically update to 10.4.11-- my laptop is fine. My PowerMac, however, can no longer launch the Software Installer. I tried downloading 10.4.11 as a standalone to install it, but that is when I discovered the Installer no longer works-- is quits unexpectedly.
Are there any fixes I can try before reinstalling the entire ops system? Or, since I'm toying with the idea of buying Leopard anyway, should I skip the reinstall of Tiger altogether? Thanks in advance for your help!

I seem to be having the same problem. When I download an application (.app) and than click on the box to open it , it shakes for a moment but nothing happens.I have tried a number of different applications with the same result. So there has to be something wrong with the INSTALLER. But then I have the same problem with my disk utility. Thats when I booted up from my CD and used the disk utility there to clean up the permissions and repaired the disk. Every thing worked fine but did not fix the installer or disk utility on the computer.
I am waiting now to see if we get some suggestions before I try an Archive re-install.

  • Software Update - Huge installation!

I recently bought an iMac and an Apple Support representative brought it to my attention that I am running System 10.5.4 and the latest System is 10.5.6. I went into Software Update and it showed me 7 updates that total 966.1 Megs. I believe one of the updates is over 600 Megs by itself! Would it be safer to just check off a few of the updates at a time to download and install, or leave all the updates checked, click install, and hope for the best? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Ken
P.S. I ask this question because of a bad experience with Windows. I left all the updates checked and ultimately it crashed my computer. I had to reinstall Windows.

Don't do them all at once:
    Updating
There's been recent discussions as to what steps are truly necessary in doing a minimal problem update.
I think #1 to which all agree is to make sure you have a backup of your computer in case you do need to back out of it again.
Some like to boot from their installer discs or an external backup and verify (and if necessary repair) their internal drives as well as drive permissions. This is done with Disk Utility. You can verify a drive while booted from the same drive but sometimes this produces spurious errors. Repairing a drive (if necessary) has to be done while booted from another disk. Permissions repair can, and is probably best, done when booted from your internal drive.

You can also go to the step of booting into safe mode to do the install.

[Safe Boot takes longer than normal startup|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107394]
I like to download the update onto my computer and install it from there rather than let Software Update do it. I know a few people who had problems with doing the update via software updater found a manual install to work.
    Repair permissions again afterward.
It also helps to only install one update at a time and to run the computer for a while to make sure it is behaving well.
Almost all of the above steps (except backup) have been questioned as to necessity because probably many people have done successful updates without doing them. I say they can't hurt, they can very likely do good (especially if your computer isn't regularly maintained), so why not do them to be safe.

  • .DMG, Software Update, & other installer problems. Mediakit problems?

Almost anything that installs something, or as the logs say, anything that uses the
mediakit library. That means disk utility, system profiler, software update, diskimagemounter, and more. I don't have another computer with the same OS version, or i would already have tried copying over mediakit from that.

Hi Ticamai, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    Get Pacifist...
    http://www.charlessoft.com/
Run it, insert your Install DVD, search & extract the components you need & install the PKG!
If the above fails, then it appears to be time for a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

Just be sure to select Preserve Users & Settings.

  • Oracle Software Quality - the Installer ...

    Hello @all,
could anybody tell me - why Oracle did not test the 11GR2.XE Installer on Windows x64 ?
And please - don't tell me there will be a 64bit version - this is not helping ... there are still a lot
of 32 bit applications that run fine on Windows x64 but need a 32 bit database ....
If you fix the installation bugs - everything runs nicely on Windows x64.
Will the installer be fixed or do we have to live with this ? How many years has Oracle needed to
create a new XE Version ? This is really not funny - it's just very very sad.

    Nils

  • Unknown errors during manual software update package installation

    Hi,
    I'm new to the forum.
Recently I've got a serious trouble while installing standalone update packages from disk image files.
After typing my username and password to update my OS manually my computer suddenly fails to install the software packages saying that "the installer has encountered an unknown error which caused the installation to fail."
I've an early 2009 Mac Mini which I bought during the first half of that year. The problem affects all versions of Mac OS X (10.5 and later). It's normal? I've tried everything (permissions repair, SMART check) to fix the problem with no luck. Now I suspect the issue has something else with bad memory or a faulty hard disk.
How curious, System Graph had put a new Super Drive on it because the original had its laser head damaged due to extensive use.
    Cheers,
    John

    FIXED!
Many DMG executables failed to install because their certificates were outdated.
To resolve the problem: uncheck the automatic time setting box and set the clock to an early date.

  • SQL Server Software ISO, How to find out what is the Edition and Version of the SQL software before starting installation

    Hi All-
Before starting installation, I would like to find out What EDITION and VERSION  is the SQL Server Software ISO.
Please note this is not to find out what version is the installed sql server but before the installation: Is there a note or abrv. that describes what kind of Edition and version is the ISO?
    Detail explanation is appreciated.
    Thanks.

@Balmukund - Thanks for the input - That one is a nice blog!
But assuming you can`t change the Product Key value (you are not provided that number, as you know it gets populated by itself) can you find out
what implies the corresponding edition? If there is a folder where this reference is store, could you provide the full file path where  this folder is located?
The ideal solution would be a way to find out what the Edition
    is befor we start installation.
    Thanks!
Also just to add what I came across:
The SQL Server 2012 installation software comes with pretty much all edition in it, that kind of makes it difficult to easily identify what edition is the specific ISO, but when
one downloads from MSDN one must downloads the
    right edition either Standard,
Enterprise, etc so that when you install it, it installs whatever edition is downloaded.
The best source would be whoever downloaded the software.
Also, before going too far, you can find out what edition it is being installed right before the setup wizard finishes on the
License Terms page (Microsoft Software License Terms Page) and if the edition is not the one you intended to install, you can cancel it there and everything will be rolled back- no hastle.
