Software deployment applicable  to Macintosh and Window Computer

Hi,
I would like to check if there is any software available to deploy applications to Macintosh and Window computers? Would appreciate if you anyone could help me.
Thank you!
Cheers,
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
for Mac OSX there is the Apple Remote Desktop http://www.apple.com/remotedesktop/
For Windows there is the Windows Deployment Service http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa967394(VS.85).aspx

  • Dvd studio pro: DVDs won't work on DVD player and windows computer

    Hi
I have burnt some dvds on DVD Studio Pro I checked they were set to SD and PAL and have played them on my MAC and DVD player no problem but now I am hearing back from my client that they tried playing them on their windows computer and laptop and their DVD player and it isn't working what could be the reason for this?
    From Mike

You can see if they have another software player available.  Usually VLC is a good option.  Windows player can be a bit all over the place depending on patches of the OS and other items.   I have encountered some strange things, including people claiming that DVDs I have authored were doing things that had nothing to do with the DVD (beyond the scope of what a DVD can do, etc.)
When you say DVD Player, does this mean they are also trying to play it in a DVD Player (real player and not in computer?)  How did you burn the DVD?  Straight from DVD SP?  Check first play settings and other items?
These are some of the first things I would be starting with, particularly if real DVD players (not in computers) are concerned.  It also can be something as small as dirt or scratches on the DVD itself.  Some machines can be better at compensating than others are.

  • Cross Authorization Between Mac Account and Windows Computer

We have two Macs in our house and one Windows Computer. The Windows machine is a recent addition for my wife's job. Can I authorize the new machine for iTunes?

Yes, why wouldn't you be able to? You can authorize up to 5 machines; it doesn't matter if they are Mac, Windows, or both.

  • Loading Macintosh and Windows (Bootcamp)

I've got Bootcamp installed on my iMac and when I boot up my iMac I have to wait for the system to load up and switch to Windows (Bootcamp). I know there is way when booting up the iMac and holding down a few Keys on the keyboard you can choose which system you want to use, but some reason my Apple wireless keyboard doesn't let me do that method all the time (almost never).
So my question is, can you set up your boot up to let you choose which system (Macintosh or Windows) you would like use? Without holding down Keys on the keyboard.

Yes and no. In either OS, OS X or Windows, you can select the startup disk. That is in System Preferences, Strtup Disk, in OS X and in Control Panel, Boot Camp applet on Windows.
As far as a Full Time Boot Loader system like what is available on Windows PC where a screen comes up for a period of time that give you the option to select which Operating System to boot to before it goes to the Default OS I don't know of any for the Mac as the Mac EFI is LOCKED (Caps because it really is locked up by Apple) so no changes can be made to it. There was one a few years ago, Boot Picker, but has since been removed.
You only other option is to connect a USB keyboard to the system and use that for the Option/Alt key boot menu screen. Which is the Defacto Apple Mac boot loader.

  • What type of external hard drive do I have to buy that I can use on my mac and windows computer as well

I want to buy an external hard drive that will work on my imac and windows computer

Most all off the shelf External Hard Drives are formatted so that they can be used with both platforms. Just stay away from discount and off name brands.

  • Software Deployment Manager - runtime workbench and mdt service

    Hi Experts,
I undeployed certain service for PI 7.0 particularly on for rwb and mdt specifics. I was seeing some errors when opening the the runtime workbench. So I was thinking of undeploying it and redeploy it again..After I undeployed the service, and was looking at directory to redeploy it, I couldn't find the rwb and mdt folder. Any one have an idea where is it located or could I download it at marketplace and deploying it again? Thanks!

    Hi
Probably the best thing to do is download and deploy the XIAFC, XIAF and XITOOLS patches. These will contain the rwb and mdt components. After deploying these 3 patches the system should be back to normal.

  • After updating to OSX 10.9.4, WiFi connection keeps getting dropped. This happened on 3 Macs, but my iPhone, iPad, and Windows computer all connect to WiFi just fine.

I recently updated three Macs to Mavericks OS 10.9.4. All three Macs now cannot stay connected to WiFi.
Other devices (iOS and Windows) have no such problem, so it isn't the WiFi itself.
It seems to be OS X 10.9.4 which is the problem.
10.9.3 did not have this problem either.

  • Format for Macintosh and Windows

Is it possible at all to have my iPod formated for macintosh but still be able to use it as a hard drive on a windows machine?

Mark, I have some questions about this. I just installed a new unformatted 60GB drive into my old 4G iPod. I am on a Win XP Pro platform so I did not want to use the NTFS formatting option before running Updater. I installed a trial copy of Macdrive, but when I try to Mac format that drive it says "An error occurred while examining Removable Disk (J:): Unspecified error". The LCD says it's in Disk Mode but I don't have the checkmark; it still shows the flashing Do Not Disconnect. If I try to Reset and put it manually into disk mode while it's connected via USB to my computer that doesn't work either. I have do disconnect it. I can then get the checkmarked Disk Mode symbol, but the moment I hook it back up via USB I get the Do Not Disconnect.

  • MAC downloads and Windows computer

I received an IPod as a gift and the person used the MAC to download tunes. I however use Windows and could not manage the downloaded tunes.  I saw a post that said to go into the IPod menu and restore the IPod to Windows so I tried that.  It appeared to accept the change however when I removed the USB cord the IPod wont shut off and sits on the OK to disconnect screen.  I put the IPod down and the battery died hoping that would help I went to charge it again on my computer and got the same message.  In checking what is downloaded I found the original songs were gone as expected and my new songs were downloaded however the IPod has frozen I guess I can say.

After installing iTunes go for it. The limit is 5 iTunes authorizations at once.

  • I installed 10.6.8 from 10.6.6 on my Macbook Pro and now can't open Safari-think it's something to do with the Intego anti-virus software. Reverted Intego software back to default state and now computer just boots ups up slowly and can't access a thing.

I installed 10.6.8 from 10.6.6 OS on my MacBook Pro and have not been able to open secure sites on Safari.  Think it has something to do with the Intego Anti-virus installed.  Tried restoring Intego to default status and now my Mac barely boots up and does nothing else but spin.  Ugh.  Has anyone had similar issues and if so, were you able to resolve?  How?  Thanks,

1: Backup your user files folders of Documents, Music, Pictures etc., to a external powered drive (not TimeMachine) and disconnect.
2: Insert the 10.6 installer disk and reboot holding c
3: Simply reinstall OS X without erasing the drive, it will overwrite the installed version of OS X and the root level software, but leave your Applications folder contents (expect Apple bundled programs) and user files alone. (but backup anyway in case it fails)
4: Reboot and the Integro is gone out of your system, but there may still be something laying around in Applicaitons to delete. Use Software Update to get up to date.
5: You don't need anti-virus on a Mac, Apple provides it already for you sight unseen.
6: If you Software update, the bad certificate issues are pulled, thus are not a threat.

  • CCA 3.2.2 Software Pack 8.6.1 and Windows 8

    Hi there,
Anyone done this upgrade with Windows 8?  We completed the upgrade successfully and everything updated (it seems), except we cannot connect to the phone system on any vlan at this point.  Cisco told me it was because my laptop i performed the upgrade on was running Windows 8.
    Is this the case?
    Thanks,
    HelpDesk

    Hi Help Desk,
Please be aware that Windows 8 has some very funky security issues, and you will experience this problem... I see it on a daily basis and not just with Cisco equipment, with a wide variety of other vendors equipment.
If you turn of the firewall entirely you should be able to operate as per normal, but how to get it to work with the firewall on is anybody's guess right now.
I am trialing Windows 8 now to see what insane stuff it does, but sadly I have no Cisco equipment anymore to test it on to try and get a better understanding on how it will impact it.
My Suggestion is to only use either Windows XP or Windows 7 with minimal security enabled, especially when working on Cisco appliances.
    Cheers,
    David Trad.

  • Can I use my 4th gen iPod on Mac AND Windows computer?

My main household computer is a Mac. It also contains our main iTunes Library, and everything else. However, when I went to hook up my iPod to my HP mini (net book), my iTunes and my laptop both said that I had to format my iPod before I could use it on that computer. Why is this? I did not have to do so with my iTouch. Is there a way around this? I really would like to transfer my purchased songs onto the net book, but I cannot access the iPod at all with out formatting it.

Install the MacDrive trial, or if you just want to transfer the songs, use a network connection or a drive other than the iPod to do it.

  • Cannot get homesharing to work on Apple TV and Windows Computer?

I have set up my appletv, turned on homesharing in itunes and have the apple id working.  The network on my pc and the appletv work with other features.  When the appletv tries to access my library (which it recognizes) it times out.  What can i do?

How do I change my firewall.  I have been using itunes for a long time and I was always able to download, and all of the other features on my appletv which are on the network seem to work.  What do I look at and where to modify my firewall?
