Software Deployment Manager Starting problem

I had installed netweaver for Java edition. I can open my portal using http://localhost:50000/irj/portal. i am wondering how to open the Software Deployment Manager. Can some one help me in finding Software Deployment Manager.

How to install Software Deployment Manager

Hi!,
I have downloaded the PDK files and want to deploy it? How do I deploy them? As per help I need SDM ( Software Deployment manager to deploy this files, from where I will get software deployment manager and how to use SDM to deploy PDK files...please help...
Also I have more query...
In my netweaver studion, when I goto window-->preference, why I can't see software deploment manager link? this SDM is used to deploy WebDynpro application with Enterprise portal....

Software Deployment Manager Error

Hi All,
   I have created a new Web Dynpro Application. When i try to deploy it I get the error msg Deployment Aborted and tells me that the SDM is not mentioned correctly.
   I have been through the document on the SDN

   however when i try to start the local engine it does not do anything and does not show the values of the local host mentioned under Window->Preferrences->J2EE Engine but only shows the other option for remote host.
Is this a setting that we need to take care of during the installation?
One another issue I have is that in the SAP Management Console, the jcontrol.exe process does not turn green and is yellow and gets stuck at 'SYNCRONIZING BINARIES'. Also i only see the processes for message server and enqueue server but not for the dispatcher.
Kindly help me with these.

Hi Vamseedhar,
please check if the database is displayed online in the MMC. Click on the blue DB icon, then you'll see the DB state on the right side.
If the DB is not online, stop all instances first by selecting "Stop" from the context menu of the J2E node, set the DB manually online by pressing the "Online" button in the DB view and then start all instances again.

"The SDM Server must be installed and started on the host that you want to access through a remote connection."

Software Deployment Manager - runtime workbench and mdt service

Hi Experts,
I undeployed certain service for PI 7.0 particularly on for rwb and mdt specifics. I was seeing some errors when opening the the runtime workbench. So I was thinking of undeploying it and redeploy it again..After I undeployed the service, and was looking at directory to redeploy it, I couldn't find the rwb and mdt folder. Any one have an idea where is it located or could I download it at marketplace and deploying it again? Thanks!

Probably the best thing to do is download and deploy the XIAFC, XIAF and XITOOLS patches. These will contain the rwb and mdt components. After deploying these 3 patches the system should be back to normal.

Mahesh applications will be doveloped in NWDS to deploy and run you should have SAP Web application server you can down load 90 days trail version from the following link.

I just installed Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver 2004 Slim Edition and tried to use the Netweaver Developer Studio (version 2.0.11). To get the Studio working I need to have SDM (Software Deployment Manager) should be installed as well.

SDN is a part and parcel od WAS,no need to install SDM saparately you can check the presence of SDM in C/D/E:usrsapWEPJC00SDMprogramsdm.exe.

1) Error with JDeveloper 9i and Software Configutarion Management (SCM)
I have a problem with the JDeveloper 9i integrated with the repositorio 6i (SCM). When I make checkout of a
source in java of the repositorio, after that I make the alteration and later I make checkin of this source,
some times occur an error of feed of checkin or occurs error of checkout in case that it obtains to
make checkin.
2) Error when I open one branch and later that the alteration was finished I want to finish this branch.
when beginning one branch to tabalhar and I make alterations in a source in java, and to the end I want to
finish this branch, appear a message informing that some source in state of checkout exists, but when I go to
verify in the stack of checkout, do not exist no source or to folder.
Somebody could help me?

We know, that we have to raise the parameter PROCESSES to solve our problem (for a while). But we want to solve and understand the problem once for all.
And we noticed, that the processes raise everytime, we open a web-page in the visual editor in the JDeveloper. And we want to know, if anyone knows why. Or should we have forgot to set any parameter. Maybe its a bug of the JDeveloper version, we are unsing.
I just have found the error, that occurs in JDev.
Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12519, TNS:no appropriate service handler foundMaybe this is helpfully? :-/

OIM 11G- Web Console- Problem with "Export Deployment Manager File"

Experts,
I am using gogle chrome browser on oim11g setup.
I was able to Import/Export the objects using Import/Export Deployment Manager File.
The reason why I opted for chrome is that I was unable to connect to login to the web console, it was just asking for userid and password and after some time, the browser(Internet Explorer 7) hangs on.
And with FireFox 5.0.1, it is the same thing both import and export deployment manager file windows opens as soon as I click and they just close after 2-3 seconds.
The problem now is after updating the java to "Version 6 Update 26 ", the Export Deployment Manager File stopped working. The window pop-ups and closes in 2 seconds.
But Import Deployment Manager File is working fine with out any problems.
The pop - up blocker is not enabled.
And I am sure that it was working fine earlier with chrome before the java update.When I remove the updated java version, chrome is asking to download the latest java version.
Any suggestions, that helps to work with chrome or firefox or IE?

I have never had any luck getting anything after Version 6 update 23 to export properly. I would remove your updated Java and restore to a previous version of Java.

Csa 6.0 problem with software deployment tool

I am having some problems with csa 6.0 and a software deployment tool called capainstaller, it resides on the client and picks up packages on some server shares and executes them from there, or copies it locally. We have added it to the class that defines mass software deployment like we did in 5.2, which works fine in 5.2, in 6.0 we are getting alot of applications getting put into @untrusted, for some reason. I can't figure out if i am supposed to make general exeptions for shares and local directories where the deployment tool reads its packages from ? In that case which classes should i modify, i am seeing alot of classification from the module called Security - Untrusted Content Classification, and this gives me alot of headaches.

Well, the Mass Software Deployment class, is where you are supposed to put marimba, in 5.2 this was fine, and worked for most of the installations i have done. in 6.0 the big break came when i found out that you can't use UNC network paths in a file set, it just doesn't work. If you put it is a literal straight in the same field as the altiris and sms are in the built-in rules, that works, maybe your marimba agent is also part locally installed and part gotten from the network like ours is ?

Starting of this deployment manager localhost 4848 is not supported

In Linux, with Creator2, I am unable to get the application server to start. I get the message
"Starting of this deployment manager localhost 4848 is not supported". I am confused by this because the admin server is supposed to be on 24848. It will not start either.
So how do I fix this?

It will start if I run Creator as root!. How do I get
Creator to work for a normal user?
It is installed in /otp/Sun/Creator2In this case you will have to chown /opt/Sun/Creator2 to your user. Otherwise you won't be able to open log files.
As anyone else uses my machine, I unistalled creator from /opt/Sun and reinstalled in my $HOME.

Prime Infrastructure 1.2 - Software Image Management

Good Day,
I have some issues with CPI 1.2. I've tried to Import Images from Cisco.com through Software Image Management
for test purposes by using my credentials. But it has finished success just a twice. Other attempt hadn't any result.
Then I try to choose Image for my test 3750E switch, sometimes I have error message like bellow:
After I choose another image and return to first that I need, and press <Submit>, I have a message that "Image collection job CCO Image Collection Job is Scheduled Successfully":
I wait some time and refresh, but I don't see any new Images. The same problem exist then I try Import Images from connected Devise. I use Shedule Start Time - Now.
Also, I can't view any information about Image in Device Work Center:
Any ideas, guys?

I'm having the same issue. I'm thinking there are still a lot of bugs in PI that Cisco needs to work out. LMS is still the better option for now in managing your switching environment. I know that Cisco hopes to role all device management under the umbrella of PI, but they still have some bugs to workout IMO.
