Software Download Manager not downloading files?

I am working with software download manager and it gives me the error message about the download cannot be completed. My internet connection is fine but I think their might be a problem with the download manager. What are some possible reinstallation areas
I can consider and what could possibly be the problem?

Hi,
You can check this issue in Clean boot to see if other security app or Firewall blocking the downloading behavior.
Also we can use Process monitor and Network monitor to track the downloading events and see if any component of this program was blocked or the network communication was interrupted.

Sorry for the later reply, I have resolved this by using an alterative internet connection at a relatives house which was faster.

  • Windows says the itunes download file is corrupt and will not install

Im trying to install itunes on my new windows 8 pc.  It seems to recognize my software and takes me to a download the 64 bit file (iTunes64Setup.exe).  Once the download completes, the file appears in my windows download manager with the message "The signature of this program is corrupt or invalid".  If I right click and chose install anyway, I get a message saying that Windows prevented this from running.
I then found the 32bit download file (iTunesSetup.exe).  I get the same results as above.  Any ideas how to fix this?

I get that all the time with all sorts of programmes.  I normally shut down my pc, unplug it, wait for the light to go out on the back, plug back in reboot and it works (with most of my downloads) try this, it might fix it, it might not.  I tried this the other day after it kept telling me it was corrupt, then it came down and installed fine.  I do this now with every update of every program, if I forget they will all say they have an 'invalid signature' or 'corrupt from source file' etc.  Hope this helps you.  Also I have to do this before I download music as well, because otherwise it seems to come down with the stupid DRM still on the file, meaning I can't put it on my ipod, convert it or even play it on my system.

  • Downloaded files with ActiveX not displays using Windows 8 and IE 11

We are using ActiveX for downloading file from our server. After downloading ActiveX decrypt downloaded files. ActiveX works fine with all other IE versions but in case of IE 11, when we download the files ActiveX doesn't throw any error, but when we check
the files at downloaded location, it looks like there was no files downloaded. When we the same process again using "IE 11 using "run as Administrator" the downloaded files displays at the downloaded location.
After debugging, We didn't found error like "access denied or path not found or any other error." with or without Administrator mode. but still facing this issue.
When we download file again using "Browse for Folder" it display the previous downloaded folders, but not exists at the actual location.
Your quick reply will highly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Secure Download Manager not starting download? (Dreamspark)

    Hello,
for the past days I've been trying to download Windows 7 64bit (German) from Dreamspark. The download worked fine until it hit 45% and just stopped. No error messages or similar appeared. ( I've downloaded Windows 8 with no problem a couple of weeks ago,
so the problem is not my firewall / antivirus / settings..; tried different Systems.)
I've deleted the already downloaded files and restarted it, tried to download different files and even asked two friends to try to download something, unsuccessfully.
The problem is obviously on there end, not mine. Any ideas? I've been waiting for support for about 2 days..
    Thank you

I have very same problem with Secure Download Manager:
    - Download stucks on 0%, there is data transfer but there is no progress
    - Download starts, then after while of downloading ( about 30 minutes) it stops (complete lack of any data transfer) and then starts again or not. If it finishes downloading i get CRC error and SDM ask to download file again
    - Download starts (or is stuck at 0%) and i get error:
"The download cannot be completed. If a location selection is available for this  product, select another location. If no location selection is available, the download may fail to complete because no Internet connection was found, the  Internet connection
was lost or a firewall or proxy server exists between the client station and hosting location. Please try again later."
    From SecureDownloadManager.log [Download] [Error] OnErrorMessage FileKey 1 http://software.dreamspark.com/dreamspark/POLISH/pl_windows_7_professional_x64_dvd_x15-65829.01.sdc 503
The error repeats when i try again, but if it eventually starts to download i get CRC error at 100% and SDM ask me to download file again.
    Notes:
    - It happens both with my antivirus and firewall enabled and disabled (Microsoft Firewall is disabled)
    - I have Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421, 9.0.11
    - I have fully enabled javascript and activeX
    - My Java and Flash plugins are up to date
    - I tried to use diffrent internet, errors happens both at my home and at university campus internet
    - I already tried to download sdx file again, delete previously downloaded files and start again, reinstall SDM and reconnect internet, reboot my computer, clear cookies and browser cache.
    - Of course my internet connection is fully working, all other programs are downloading and uploading data flawlessly, only SDM that im forced to use is having problems.
Im from Poland and since few days (i wanted to download something again) it completly is not working. Its great to have access to so many programs but its sad i cant download anything because of that Secure Download Manager
I used "contact" form on onthehub site (that i use to order and download SDX files) but no response, today i send mail to
[email protected] and waiting for response. Is there any other mail i can send my problem to? Its getting really annoying i have access to so much programs but cant download any because of this Secure Download Manager :(

  • IPod seen by Windows, not downloading files ...

Tried the '5R' bit. Didn't help. Let me see if I can explain.
    * Purchased iPod for my wife for Christmas a month+ ago
    * Downloaded iTunes and created a fairly large library of MP3 files from our CD collection. Use iTunes regularly on Windows, no problem.
    * Got the iPod out of the box today, and followed directions.
    * Plugged it in.
    * iTunes sees it, entered information for iPod name, did registration stuff. [NOTE: each time I plug the iPod in and iTunes sees it, it brings up the "Setup Wizard", which is kind of pointless ...]
    * It said it was updating the iPod. It showed it was copying the library file by file.
    * It copied the files not to the iPod, but to: C:\iPod_Control in a folder there (they MP3 files in the library are in a folder called "C:\MP3s" and stored in folders there for individual CDs). This now doubles the disk space used on the harddrive, but also did not copy the files to the iPod itself.
Suggestions? What did I do wrong? Is it me, the software, what?
When I plug the iPod in, it is seen by iTunes. It shows the library of files, but in that other folder. How do I know? I go to the iPod menu, select "Settings" and "About" and it shows zero songs, zero videos and zero pictures (have no videos or pictures set for download, just trying to be complete). Any help will be gratefully accepted.

Thanks. The problem appears to be that the iPod was not being recognized by Windows as a drive. I had to go do some weird jumping through hoops. The computer wanted to map it as drive 'J:' which had a reference to my hard drive that had been mapped for my network -- am not quite sure why. But I could not get the computer to assign as any other drive letter (I am sure it's something I've just forgotten). Anyway, once I unmapped the drive 'J:' mapping, suddenly the iPod showed up as drive J: and I was able to start downloading files to it. I am still doing it, but I think it's working. I should note that I had previously deleted the iPod folder that I mentioned in the first post first. As noted, it apepars to be working, so we'll see. Thanks!

  • How do I download IOS5 onto a first generation ipad? Software Update does not appear under General in Settings on the 1st generation.

How do I download IOS5 onto a first generation ipad?  Software Update does not appear under General in Settings on the first generation ipad.

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, if you have iOS 4 then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

  • I just got a new Imac, and downloaded files from my old PC. Now, when I go to Finder, I have 1500 files in an area called developer. What is this, and can they be deleted? There are also 78 files listed as Other!  Most of these files I do not recognize.

I just got a new IMac, and tried to download files from my old PC. When I go to,Finder, I have 1500 files under Developer, an 78 files under Other.
Most of these files I do not recognize. Can they be trashed? Why did they transfer? I used a flash drive for the transfer. Also, is there a way to transfer my older email files to this new computer?
Thanks for any and all help, I really need it.
    Tom

Did you use the Migration Assistant to help set up the new iMac using some of the files in the older PC? Some likely won't mean much, unless you have applications that can use or convert them. There's also a way to use the software Time Machine to import data files from an external or another computer, so you may have used that, too.
Hopefully someone with experience in a similar issue will reply...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • HT1338 Software Update is not finding latest release (April 3) of Java 2012 001 Update for Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 on iMac mid-2007 that downloaded automatically on iMac mid-2011

Software Update is not finding latest release (April 3) of Java 2012 001 Update on my iMac mid-2007, but it downloaded it automatically on my iMac mid-2011 yesterday. Both are running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3. When I try to download the update manually from Apple on my older iMac, it downloads okay, but when I try to open the dmg file, I get a warning message saying that opening this update may make your computer LESS secure. Do you want to proceed? (I did not).
Why would Software Update find this update and install it automatically on one iMac and not the other, if they are both running the same version of Mac OS X Lion? I checked the installed software list on my old iMac and the Java update does not appear there. Why would this update make my old iMac less secure?

Recall that Java is not installed as part of Lion.
You have to install it (and are asked if you want to) when you first try to run some java stuff.
Is it possible that the iMac 2007 does not have Java yet?
Try this: open Terminal (from Utilities) and type java -version (exactly like that, with the space before the hyphen).
    What do you get?
Consistent with this theory is that the dmg thing gave you the warning - installing java might make your machine less secure because java is a means for bad guys to try to do bad things to your computer.

When I try to download a software up date for another program in Binary File (eg. C Cleaner or a Microsoft file) in Firefox they all just come up in the download window as 'Canceled'? When I go to the destination folder the download file icon is there with 0 Kb's for size...Then when I click 'RETRY' the download it appears to download fully, but when I go into the destination folder the downloaded file is not there? I need to know if there is something in the Firefox options to resolve this problem or much more!!

If all .exe files are blocked, antivirus software is most likely configured to block them. See if you can download these with your antivirus and/or security software disabled.

Where can I find the a downloaded file by Software update?
For example is there any way to find a package which is downloaded but is not installed(because the installation failed) (in this case 10.5.5) and I don't want to download it once again neither manually nor with software update.

Failed installs usually remove the package, just as a proper install removes the package
All that remains for a proper installation is a Receipt in on of the following directories:
    ~/Library/Receipts (for user-specific installs)
    Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts
for system-wide installations, including OS-X updates.
and I don't want to download it once again neither manually nor with software update.
If it did not install, there is no Receipt and the downloaded file is not on your system
If you don't want to see it again in automatic updates, put it on ignore.
