Software help , when calling people they can hear me but i cant hear them
basically i jail broke my iphone and then i updated it to 5.0.1 and it worked fine when jail broken and abit afterwards but then i discovered that i could call people and hear them but they couldnt hear me, and signal dies in the shop i brought it from ( tesco) and they had a boosted signal zone also he tried a new sim and its the same , also how do i get an appointment with the apple store in west quay? and then i updated it again tyo 5.1.1
i know its because i jail broke it but i need to know how to fix it , plus the home button is slowly not working , how do i fix that also?

My boss got an i5 in mid--Jan. Not a week later, her callers started complaining they couldn't hear her. She eventually ended up in the carrier's customer center (no Apple Stores over here), where they gave her a new-from-the-box replacement, no questions asked. You may get lucky too.

1. Verify that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
2. Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.
3. While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris or an object lodged in the headset jack:
4. Check the headset jack. If there is an object lodged in the headset jack that is not easily removed, have the iPhone serviced to remove object.
5. For Original iPhone: If there is light debris, such as lint, in the headset jack, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset jack and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times to remove the debris.
6. If you have installed a protective film on the display, either ensure that the receiver is not covered or remove the film completely.
7. Check the receiver mesh (which is on the top front of the device, above the display). If it appears blocked, use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to carefully and gently brush away any debris.
8. If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (choose Settings > General > Bluetooth).
9. Restart the iPhone.
10. If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.
11. If the issue persists, go to the Service Answer Center - iPhone for information on service.

When i answer a call the person on the other side can hear me but i cant hear them unless i put the loudspeaker on. So how can i resolve this

I recommend the troubleshooting steps in this article if the microphone on your iPhone is not working:
Make sure nothing is plugged in to the jack connector.
Make sure nothing is blocking any of the microphones (see the pictures below to locate the microphones on your device)
Make sure none of the microphones is obstructed by dirt or debris.
Turn the iPhone off and then on.
Make sure that the latest version of iOS is installed.
If necessary, find general iPhone hardware troubleshooting suggestions.

Assuming you mean that you opened the phone and replaced something inside, there's not much anyone here can recommend.
Find a competent repair shop or buy a new phone. Apple won't touch that one now. -

My iPhone is stuck in a mode where it thinks the headset is still plugged in.
I cant get any sounds through the speaker. Cant hear sms or emails arrive. If the phone rings i hear it but pple cant hear me or i cant hear them.
The phone works fine with the headphones plugged in.
I have tried all the usual solutions, inserted and removed the headset (at least 50 times)

Nothing seems to work. I have searched on this and it seems to be a well know issue but there doesnt seem to be any firm solutions that i can find to fix the problemIf no change after inserting and removing the headset at least 50 times, powering the iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, and restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby. -

Hey. I have iphone 4 white factory unlocked,it was working fine when i purchased it and after a few days i updated it to 4.3.5
Now whenever i recieve a call or make a call there is no voice in ear piece and neither can the person on other end hear me. I even tried to put on the speaker and make a call but nothing changed. I tried the handsfree but then again nothing happened.
On the other end when i tested its recording through voice memo,everything works(SPEAKER,MIC,EAR PIECE AND HANDSFREE). Speakers even work when im using youtube,games and ipod.
Everything works fine but when on call speaker,mic,earpiece and handsfree. I just bought my iPhone From England and im not in ENGLAND OR USA to claim my warrenty. Im In Pakistan and i have no apple stores here to claim my warrenty.

If the other person can't see you during a FaceTime call, first use the Camera app on the iPhone to make sure the camera is working properly. If you don't see an image when using the Camera app, try these troubleshooting steps first:
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

When I call someone using FaceTime from my mac, they can see me but not hear me. Is there something I need to do to make this happen? I also have an iPad 2 and FaceTime works great on it if I call somebody. Why no sound from my mac FaceTime using a mac pro and isight camera, mike combo.

Try turning down the speak volume (System Preferences->Sound->Output->Output Volume) or the microphone gain (System Preferences->Sound->Input->Input Volume). Do this on both sides of the call.
