So I have Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac on my Macbook licensed to me. I'm going to sell my Macbook but want to keep he Mac Office for another computer I'm planning to buy with the money. Anyway is it possible to copy all the files to a external hard drive and then delete it off my Macbook. then transfer the files to a new mac. Will it work or will the licensing cause problems? Thanks.

I can't answer the Microsoft installation question directly. I can't even remember the details when I installed it last and if I had to enter some kind of key or not. If that's all you have to do I don't see any problem, but again, I don't have the 08 version.
What I would do, with your old Mac when you sell it, is make sure you boot from your installer disc and erase the drive with write zeros (once) option selected in the security options. This will make it extremely difficult for any data to be recovered casually by the next owner. Such data can be relatively easily recovered if you just drag it to the trash and empty the trash.
Make sure the next owner gets the discs that came with the computer originally as these will do you no good (won't work on another model) and really belong to the computer. The next owner can use these to re-install the operating system.

So, I have a Nokia C3-00. My current software details are:

I know that this version is way out of date because I bought it years ago, and have never updated it.
I think the current version is now 7.20 or something like that. Don't quote me on it
Anyways, when I run the Software Update through OVI Suite, it just says that my current software
is up to date. I read somewhere that this phone is supposed to have WLAN settings, and mine has
no such thing. So I can't check for updates via my phone, considering I cannot access the internet.
Is there any way that I can download the newest version through my PC and update my phone manually?
I don't know if I'm missing something here, and I just sound stupid right now. But I would appreciate all the help I can get. Thank you.

In fact the latest version is v08.70
..but since the Nokia Suite doesn't show any availability and you don't have internet access thru' the phone there is nothing that you can do yourself.. You may ask your local Nokia care which can be found thru' this link whether they can help you.
BTW, Availability of update depends on Region / Product Code and also, for Network locked devices, update is possible only after an approval from the Operator ..

Trying to update iphone 4 and am missing driver software, help?

I cannot figure out how to update or reinstall the driver software for my phone. it asks for the disk and i do not have the disk nor can the program find it online. can anyone help?

Uninstatll iTunes. Restart your computer. Reinstall iTunes.

My Touchsmart Tiles do not work. I can't find the software - Help!

All of a sudden, I can't open Touchsmart to use my tiles. All the Icon does is open - but the tiles won't work. I think the software might be gone. What can I do.

Try downloading the following driver for your Touchsmart:

Install that and let me know if it helps.

Unable to install ANY software- help!

I'm not sure when this started, but I am not able to install ANY software anymore. My system met the requirements for any software I've tried to install recently- any ideas why it's not working?
I go through the installing sequence... choose the drive, enter my password, accept the terms etc etc (maybe it's not in that order) and the progress bar reaches the end and I receive a message along the lines of "an error occured during installation please try again"

Try this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Oh, and it would help if you could be specific about what software you cannot install.

I reinstalled PSE 11 after my Macbook was wiped...its in my documents and looks to be loaded but no prompts on what to do next???Says 93.6MB ....is it fully installed I can't tell? HELP I've had it with installing things...took 3 days to update to Mavericks and reinstalled 2 times...frustrated:(

C7280 all in one software help

Hi, My computer stared saying "Scanner not found" when I tried to scan things. I have tried multiple things, including restoring the print/fax info from a previous TimeMachine backup. the scanner will scan to a thumbdrive. The latest thing I tried was to remove/add the printer to my computer, as insteructed on an HP help site. However, when I tried to add the printer, I get a message saying "software is not currently available for this printer". I do not even remember if i got a CD with the printer, and if I did I cannot find the **bleep** thing (I have looked all over). HELP!! Now I can't even print on the thing.... Cohdey

My?son received a zen v plus for his b-day. I tried downloading the software. During installation; at the end where it says to hook the player to the pc, my power cord got bumped and lost power. When I rebooted, my desktop was empty other than the wallpaper. I ventured into the task manager and did a system restore. Still I had the same problem. As I ran the task manager again and browsed, I can across the organizer. There trapped inside, was all my systems info everything!!!. I can not locate how to export everything back to my pc from the organizer. I need help. Any info would be greatly appreciated,Kim

THere has been a few people on these forums complaining of the same issue now and then.
The easier fix is to export to the camera roll, and send to You Tube from the photos app.

Out of date skills & Software; help!

My skills and software are so out of date. I used to do Graphic & Web Desigin; & now would like to update my skills and software. I can't decide which route to go. Are there any good online classes, or should I register at the Community College (but unfortunately all the classes are full already). If there are good tutorials out there, or online courses, please let me know. Also where can I find discounted software. I'd like a class on InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and web design. Please help if you can!

You'll need to be enrolled in a qualifying school with enough credits to qualify for student pricing. I don't think one class will do it.

Can't Reload Software - Help, Please!

I've been having troubles with the trackpad lately, and was told the software might need updating. So, I connect it to my computer, go to update the software, and now I'm getting the "Error 507" screen. I tried going to the support website, and doing what that says, but it won't work. My phone will no longer connect with the computer, and I can't get it to "repair" so that it will connect. Any ideas, or am I royally **bleep**ed?

In some cases, a 507 is normal during the process -- it indicates that no OS is present on the device, and it is waiting for whatever the controlling app is to move to the next step (load the OS onto the device). Sometimes, that can be kick started by simply removing and reinserting the USB cable. But, if you've already moved past that, then you have do do some other things now. Here are some methods that may help:

Crashed during install_now no system software HELP

Crashed updating to lastest software so I could update to latest firmware so my macbook would stop shuting off by itself. Anyway during install guess what? It shut off, so the unstall did not finish. Now when I restart IT WON'T. I get the gray screen with the must restart info. So tried original install disks and it tells me I can't use this disk to install. Now what? Any help PLEASE.
