Software licence agreement

I just got an 80gb ipod classic and the software licence agreement appears in the itunes screen every time I plug it in. I check off the I agree button and hit save, but it just goes back to that screen after saving. Is there a certain place I should try saving the file to? My ipod won't sync or anything, so I'm assuming that the licence agreement is the problem.

Hmmmm. Working from the basis that it can cause all manner of other odd symptoms, it might be worth checking to see if you're getting a Windows drive letter confusion, as per the following document:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear

  • 'iTunes Software Licence Agreement' every time I open iTunes

Since the most recent iTunes update, I'm getting the 'iTunes Software Licence Agreement' window every time I open iTunes (screenshot - http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/5265/68707078.png) -- to which I have to select 'agree' to access normally.
Why? And anyway to stop this?
    Thanks in advance.

Though on my own account, its still comming up with the "set up" screens before it starts.. any other ideas i could try?
iTunes setup assistant runs every time you launch, user-account-specific issue ... I think your other set of iTunes preference files (in your normal user account) might be damaged, Gareth. (Have experimented with this on my XP PC ... rebuild one set and the license agreement runs, rebuild the other set and the iTunes Setup assistant runs. So damage to the 'other" set might be causing your relentless-setup-assistant thing.)
So, we'll try swapping out your other set of pref files. Here's Windows 7 instructions. Make a note of any custom preferences you have set up, because this procedure will return everything to default that wasn't returned to default by rebuilding the other set. You might also have to reinstall any third-party iTunes add-ons/plug-ins after doing this one, too.
Here's Windows 7 instructions for rebuilding "the other set" *(Step 10* contains the crucial difference from the license-agreement-problem instructions).
First, quit iTunes if you have it open.
Next, you'll need to make sure you are set up to view hidden files and folders in Vista (or 7).
    1. From the Start menu, click Open.
    2. In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
    3. Click the View tab.
    4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected.
    5. Click OK.
Next, you'll remove the iTunes preference folder (and contained file).
    6. In Computer, open Local Disk: C or whichever drive your documents are stored on.
    7. Open the Users folder.
    8. Open the folder with the name of the Vista (or 7) user account in which iTunes always shows the setup assistant in when launching.
    9. Open the AppData folder.
    10. Open the Roaming folder.
    11. Open the Apple Computer folder.
    12. Drag the iTunes folder out onto the Desktop.
Now you'll rebuild the preference folder and file.
    13. Launch iTunes. This will cause iTunes to rebuild that preference folder and file. *The setup assistant will appear for you again.* (That is expected behavior when that particular preference folder and contained file are being rebuilt.)
    14. Now quit iTunes and launch iTunes again. If the preference folder and contained file have been successfully rebuilt, the setup assistant should not appear this time.
    ... any luck with that?

    hi Shaun!
after installing the update for iTunes, it doesn't run (comp makes noises but nothing comes up on screen). when i open task manager itunes is running as a process, but i can't end process.
hmmm. okay, Norton is still our prime suspect here. that "running itunes.exe process that will not die" symptom is associated with the nastier versions of the NIS 2005 launch suppression problems. (people who get that also often see things like looooooong sloooooow shutdown times on the PCs and odd end program dialog boxes.)
let's try throwing the trusty Lorraine M technique at the beast. (it usually fixes the nastier versions of the NIS 2005 problems.)

  • Acrobat Pro X -- Blank Software Licence Agreement

    Hi There,
I downloaded Acrobat X Pro from the Adobe Application Manager. It installed correctly. When I launch it, the "Adobe Software Licence Agreement" appears, but contains nothing (see attached screenshot) and the "Accept" button doesn't works -- "Quit" closes the dialog and the program.
How can I re-install the program or make it work?
    Thanks in advance,
    JM

    Hi Rave,
Thanks for the quick answer, that was helpful. I followed the steps and solved the problem.
I still got a couple of questions:
On Step 5: "Activate your CCM application by doing the following: launch it and select License This Software to enable the CCM product again." Where do I find this "License This Software" to activate it again?
The Adobe Application Manager is now showing "Adobe Acrobat XI Pro" as if it wasn't installed (the Install) button is active. Is this normal? Will the subsequent updates follow up?
    Thanks in advance,
    JM

  • Accepting Adobe Software Licence Agreement

    Hi,
Does anyone know why I have to continually accept the Adobe Software Licence Agreement?
In the past few weeks, anytime after i have shut my computer down, I am askewd to accept the Adobe Software Licence Agreement when I reopen any of the CC applications.
In some cases, I also have to go through the process to register this product.
I have been using CC for about 7 months and have not had this issue before.
    Regards,
    Matthew

    Hi Matt,
It might be somehow related to permissions is not allowing changes to get saved properly. You might try right-clicking and choosing Run as Administrator when launching all apps that are prompting with the License Agreement and see if it continues to happen.

  • Ipod software licence agreement

I need help!!!! I have downloaded itunes and connected my ipod and the ipod software licence agreement appeared on the right of the screen. I clicked on agree and save and nothing happens. I clicked on cancel and my ipod no longer appeared in the devices window. If I don't click on cancel the agreement words stay and I can look around the pages but can't sync the ipod. I'm so sick. I've removed itunes and started again but still the same. I tried to restore factory settings to ipod but can't access that cos itunes doesn'r recognise the ipod. Please, please someone help me. I'm going crazy.

Are you seeing a Continue button anywhere? Click the little Agree box then the Continue button, there's no need to save the agreement. If you aren't seeing all the buttons try increasing your screen resolution to at least 1024x768 so you can see the whole page, you'll find the instructions on this Microsoft page: Windows XP - Change your monitor resolution

  • The software licence agreement with my new IPOD prohibits use on a non appl

the software licence agreement with my new IPOD prohibits use on a non apple branded computer (yeah, I know, no one reads these things) therefore, as I read the agreement, I am not allowed to install the software on teh CD that came with my new IPOD onto my computer - Interestingly enough, if I run just the itunes installer from the CD and not the "autorun" file, then I get a different licence agreement.
Will Apple compuer company please formally state that the supplied software may be installed on a non Apple branded computer

here is the section to which I was referring - it popped up when I first inserted the CD, and it runs when you install the IPOD updater - see the first sentence.

  • Impossible to accept Software Licence Agreement.

    Hello.
I have reinstalled my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro extented in a windows 7.
At the first run, the programs ask me to accept the Software License Agreement. I click over "Aceptar" but the program does nothing.
    Any solution for this problem?
    Thanks.

Are you sure the registry-editing technique did not work? Altering the registry, basicly tells Windows and Acrobat that the software that you have already accepted the the License Agreement. If that does not work, then you probably have more serious problems.
You could always try the Acrobat cleaner tool, then re-installing.

  • Why do I receive the software Licence Agreement now when I try to open itunes on my PC?

I am a bit worried about ticking the box, as I have just had £21.99 refunded on a debit that I knew nothing about.  If I tick this box is it going to cost me money again?  I am a pensioner and don't use itunes very much, but I do still like to use it sometimes.  I have an ipod that I use with ipod speakers at home.

McAfee AntiVirus by any chance? See the thread Why does iTunes delete my itunesprefs.xml? Either way ticking the agreement is OK.
I'm also slightly suspicious of your refund. Are you sure that wasn't an attempt to obtain your Apple ID username and password? Might be best to sign in, change your password, and review your recent purchases to make sure nothing unexpected is there.

  • Hi, after installation of itunes software from Apple website, After installation, when i enter the "Accept" Button in the Software Licenece Agreement Terms

Hi, after installation of itunes software from Apple website successfully, when i enter the "Accept" Button in the Software Licence Agreement Terms & Conditon, I get error message "Tunes has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience". I am having windows XP in my PC. I have tried to remove & reinstall, temporarily suspended by anti virus software, but still getting the same error message

Tunes has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience
Generate another of those error messages and click the "Click here" link in the error message box. What modname and modver are showing for the error? (Precise spelling please.)
If the error is a BEX and thus doesn't show an modname or modver, let us know what P1 through P9 items are showing for you instead.

  • Help!! Adobe Reader 9 - where's the accept button on licence agreement

I am unable to get at the accept button on the Adobe Reader 9 licence agreement - I have a Dell notebook laptop and screen doesn't allow me to view the whole document and no matter what I do I can't getb the page to move up!! Can anyone help ?

    Hi predxeno,
Adobe Reader doesn't allow you to create PDF files--it's a PDF viewer. If you're looking to create a PDF file from a scanner, you can either use the software included with the scanner, or, better yet, you can use Acrobat. If you don't have Acrobat, you can try it free for 30 days. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.
    Best,

  • The licence agreement is in the wrong language. how can i change it to English?

i am tring to set up an icloud account but the licence agreement is in a language I dont know. any ideas on way this may be and how to fix the problem?

Press Alt to reveal the menu bar if hidden.
Click the second item from the left in the menu bar (Edit)
Click the last option in the drop-down list (Preferences).
On the dialog that appears you want the left-hand tab (General).
Set the language in the final drop-down box on this tab.
English (United States) is the tenth item on the drop-down.
Click the OK button (second in from bottom right) then shut-down iTunes.
The language should be correct when you restart.
Swap left for right in the above decriptions if you've managed to get iTunes to open in Arabic or Hebrew.

  • HT1926 whenever i try to click the itunes icon on my screen, i get a  ' itunes software liscence agreement' coming up, i click agree but itunes never opens, my ipod wont make it open! (ive never had problems with itunes on my other computer)

it all started when i installed itunes, which i have never done before on this computer as its new (second hand , but i mean new as in wiped clean)
i downloaded the latest itunes software from the website, and everything went smoothly. when i dobule-clicked the icon on my home screen, a 'apple itunes software liscence agreement' window popping up, it had 'save as' 'agree' and 'disagree' buttons, naturally i clicked 'agree' the window went away, but nothing (even 30 minutes later, with the computer untouched) happened. frustrated i repeatedly opened it up, again and again, only to be greeted by the same window, and same blank home screen. even connecting my ipod wont force it open, changing cables wont work, and uninstalling seems a very distant probmise to fix this error. HELPP MEEE! I am nothing without my beloved ipod!
    thanks everyone,
    ange
