Software malfunctions Z10

Dear All, I really hope to receive Your support, because RIM Italia, doesn't give a possibility to have a clear answers!
My Z10, since one month, doesn't save the new contacts in the phonebook and it's a HUGE problem!
I've an updated software and all the rest work quitly well.
When I try to save a new contact, the phone seem to register it and to save it, but when I search it in the phonebook (rubrica), I don't find it!
How can I solve this problem urgently?!
Will be really gratefull for Your kind replay!

Try rebooting, hold down the top button until the phone switches off, or press the 2 volume buttons simultaneously. Then switch back on.

    Yes, it can affect you if your provider doesn't support the Z10.  If they don't support it then they won't push updates.  You can update manually though.

  • No SMS - Service since Software Update Z10

    Hi, since my software update to 10.1.0.2312 I cant use SMS Service! I dont get any SMS and I cant send any SMS. Also I cant delete a SMS.... 
    It's my first BackBerry and I'm VERRY angry! 

    Are you T-Mobile USA? If so, their current OS version is 10.1.0.2006, but might be different in other countries.

  • Random restarts, Software malfunction? Error message.

    Hi everyone!
    I would like to ask for your help. My MacBook Pro started the have a malfunction about 1 month ago.
    It has been randomly restarting by itself. As you can imagine this can be very annoying when you are working on your projects.... (saving every second)
    So basically I brought my mbp to an apple store where they ran all the hardware tests. They said it was the Hard Drive so I bought a brand new hdd and replaced it by myself, reinstalled the system (mountain lion) without a problem. BUT A day after, when I fully copied al my documents from the hard drive I had before (wasn't damaged physically) the restarting started again.
    I would highly appreciate if anyone could advise me what to do... since I changed the hard drive and apple said there are no hardware problems.
    After all the restarts (there were a lot) I always got an error message which is the following:

    Then you went to a store that does not seem to have qualified personnel.  This is the extract from the kernel panic report that clearly indicates the GPU issue:
    Whether your HDD has a problem is a separate issue, but there is no indication here that there is a HDD problem.

  • Hardware or software malfunction?

    Hi everyone.
    within the space of a few days my iMac early 2008 started throwing the spinning pinwheel more and more until I couldn't even do anything after logging in. Finder would just hang at the slightest click.  I got into safe mode ok and disabled the startup items and things were normal for a few hours. Then the erradic behavior came back until it eventually got worse. Many hard shut downs and restarts later and even in safe mode the spinning pinwheel will come at the slightest mouse movement or click after booting. At this point I can start normally, log in, and load Finder. But after that everything hangs and this also in safe mode.
    Basically I'm wondering if my OS got corrupt somehow or if my drive is malfunctioning. I'd bring it to my trusted  Mac repair place but they are on vacation until April 1st, so I have some time to troubleshoot it myself and I know a bit about Macs and OSX, as I come from the computer industry.
    Here is what I have done so far
    1. ran standard and extendend hardware tests from install DVD.
    the standard test passed and the extended test threw an error
    4HDD/11/40000000:SATA (0,0)
    reserach on the interweb shows differnet reports which don't seem too alarming.
    2. ran disk utility a few times from the install disk.
    first verify was fine. second verfiy threw an error at "checking catalog file"
    incorrect block count for file 2014.03.24.asi (it should be 110 instead of 55)
    then first aid failed > file system or repiar failed.
    in spite of this I could run repair disk and this came back "repaired successfully."

    3. I tried to run time machine in safe mode and that worked for about 10 GB and then TM stalled
    4. i read that i could make a disk image of my main drive via disk utility as an alternative to time machine
    i tried this, running DU from the install DVD, but got an "unable to create dmg input/oputput error". The internal HD is 320GB.
    5. I booted iMac in target disk mode and hooked it up to my Powerbook G4 (i knew this computer would come in handy one day!) and began transferring my most important files which i hadn't backed up.
    the file transfers work best when the computer is cold and when the file size is small. If i try for example to copy anything over 10-20MB in size the transfer just trickles at 2MB every few minutes.  Smaller files or folders like email or pictures transfer fine for a about 30 minutes until the disk gets warm (i'm assuming this here!) and then things slow down dramatically.
    I eject the target disk and wait for four hours or so, then when i boot it back up, transferring goes at normal speed. i have managed to back up most of my data this way the last two days.
    6. as a last measure I installed OS X 10.5.4 (what shipped with my iMac) on an external firewire drive
    I thought i could use this method to check the problematic disk with a better third party tool, clone the internal HD, or simply just erase the HD and reinstall OS X. I haven't tried those things yet because I am still unsure the drive is failing. I mean it really feels like something is very wrong, but disk utility runs on the HD with no errors and the hadrware test comes back error free. I know not to trust these utilities 100% but i would expect them to recognize a failing HD. Or am I being naive? If the disk is indeed failing then zeroing the drive and reinstalling OS X makes no sense and I want to replace the HD asap.
    I'm curious to hear what the experts have to say. Maybe I missed something in my troubleshooting. It's been many years since I last had any serious Mac trouble, so i'm a bit out of touch.

    You're having trouble transferring files over 20MB, seemingly even right after starting TDM. That doesn't sound like "long periods of time".
    You couldn't access the drive usefully while booted from the DVD either.

  • RSA SecureID Token software for Z10

    Has anybody received word when the RSA  token app will be available for the Z10. I really need to find out since we are switching to the new Z10 in the next couple of weeks. Any help would be great thank.

    We were able to get it to work by sideloading the Android RSA app. we used version 1.1.7 and converted it to a bar file. we weren't able to get any other version to work. I beleive it's because sideloading only works for gingerbrad at the moment and this version of RSA is for gingerbread. After sideloading it, you need to manually enter in the entire path. It doesn't create a link and you're not able to copy and paste the code in either. Remember for RSA on android you need to use the tokenconverter. It's pretty ugly way of doing it, but it's better than nothing.

    Sideload the app
    convert the token to an android token
    manually enter in the code

  • MacBook Air software malfunction

    Hello, I am having trouble with my OS X software, I downloaded it on my macbook air, it's the OS X 10.9.1 version, but it did not download properly, I noticed that I do not have certain apps that are supposed to be added when the download is complete & I have alot of issues with the opening of my emails & the over all functioning of apps my pc.
    Any kind of comments or tips to help me, I'll be really greatfull!

    There are three ways:
    A. Reinstalling Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
    B. Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
    Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
          left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
            the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
          the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
                because it is three times faster than wireless.
    C. Internet Recovery
    A third way is when you replace a drive or must re-partition your drive. Then you will restart the computer using COMMAND-OPTION-R to invoke a net-based Recovery HD with which you can re-partition and format a new drive then do a fresh install of Mountain Lion.

  • Software malfunction

    My nokia asha 202 was working very much better earlier but when i install a theme of 1 M.B Or more then the apps i've installed would respond to my command. There's an other problem the mail icon in my home screen is appearing but when i touch it it's not opening and when create a shortcut in goto and click on it then it simply says invalid application or application not ready, try again. Please help me with this cause i need that app very much. Please please please help me to resolve it.

    You may try to do the restore factory settings and see if it's working. On your phone, go to Settings and then Restore factory settings. Note that the security code is 12345 unless you changed it. If it's still the same, try to re-install or update the software of your phone using the Nokia Suite. Make sure to create a back up before doing it so your files won't be deleted.

    I just downloaded the most recent software update.  After it was complete, my phone will not respond.  All I have is a blank blue screen.  Any suggestions?

    This assumes your phone is not jailbroken. If it is you are out of luck.

    Pl provides app lock applications for z10.

    Just won't give up, eh? If I were you I'd contact the developers of the app you used on the old BB device and ask them why they don't support the BB10 device. BB isn't going to develop this natively when they already have a password lock feature on the device.

  • Does it need fixing or there's a software malfunction?

    My blackberry's screen suddenly stopped working when mobile is slid up... Later, the next day, I tried unlocking it but touchscreen wasn't working AT ALL... I pressed the lock button to lock it & unlock it, then the screen wouldn't work in any way. The phone hasn't fallen anytime recently but it did fall into water & got repaired 3 months ago

    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    That said and given the prior water damage, the only thing predictable about moisture intrusion into a BB (indeed, any electronic device) is that the results will be unpredictable. I've seen some come back up right away and be fine. I've seen others never work at all. I've seen still others run for a bit, and then die later. And every thing in between.

    Go to icloud.com from your computer and sign into your account.  Any iCloud data you see there will sync to your new phone when you sign into your account.
    Also, if you have a recent backup of your phone, restore that backup to your new phone when you get it to transfer your data, settings, apps and other purchased media.  More details here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2109.

    My blackberry Z10 is currently running on 10.0.9.348. And I'm trying to install whatsapp which requires at least 10.0.10 or higher. The problem is I cannot update the software and everytime I check for software updates I get a massage saying that I have the latest software.
    What should I do to update the software?

    Each carrier controls the updates for their users...yours simply has not updated yet. There are tricks to attempt to force it, but they come with the usual cautions -- some reports exist of users doing this "force" and rendering their BB inoperable on their home carrier network (radio file changes and such, that are not compatible).
