  • Matlab through group policy

I have a batch file which can install matlab software. How to use group policy to run that batch file and install matlab on multiple computers. Can some one help me out? thank you  so much...

Hello Arnav..I tried that..but still the computers which I used in the OU did not get software installed.can you pls let me know if there are any other things those I need to check...
if the software (MatLab) is placed on a server/share (e.g.
\\server01\software\matlab ), for the startup script to be successful, you must grant the computers permissions to that share.
Startup scripts will execute when the computer starts up, so, the computer account must be granted permissions to the shared folder.
Note that granting permissions to users accounts is not relevant, because no user is logged on at the time.
You can grant folder permissions to an AD group, and make the relevant computers members of that AD group.
Or you could grant permissions to the AD group "Domain Computers" , this grants all Domain computers the permission.
If you think you have already granted the necessary permission to the folder, you can check the properties/security/advanced/effective-permissions of the folder, and confirm that an example computer account does have permissions.
If it still doesn't work, you can simulate the batch file execution as the computer account, by using psexec to run in LocalSystem context (LocalSystem context, for a domain-joined computer, is equivalent to executing as the computer account)

  • Ethernet MAC address has changed and I can no longer connect to the network

I have a new iMac, 21.5" running 10.6.4. It was purchased in the past month.
I am using it on an ethernet network and using DHCP to obtain the address. It has been working for the past few weeks. I turned it on today and it is failing to connect. After some digging around, it seems that the MAC address (Ethernet ID) has been reset to 00:10:18:00:00:00. This is different to the one it has been using last week.
I have not changed any network settings. Airport is working fine.
If I pull out the ethernet cable and reinsert, the machine tries to obtain an IP address. After a while, it returns with a self-assigned IP Address.
Last week, I did notice that it was taking a relatively long time (a minute or so) to obtain the IP address over ethernet. Plugging the same ethernet cable in a macbook, I am able to obtain the IP address for the macbook much more quickly.
I see that I could use ipconfig to change the interface address to what I believe is the correct address. Would this be sensible?
Why would the machine have reset the MAC address anyway?
    Regards,
    Neil

    Dear all,
I am having the same problem with a new MacBook Pro, bought end of October - for me it became apparent for software (Matlab, Comsol) that are registered with a licence file which was created based on the MAC address, and also when trying to register the computer to the company network. That software will only work those times that the computer "knows" its real MAC. Also, I found that audible audio books, managed through itunes, will not synchronize with the ipod at those times when the MAC address is at the producer's default (00:10:15:00:00). I never had network issues other than this computer registration, - no probs at home or elsewhere - , so it will depend on the individual setup which issue users observe.
I have had long phone discussions with different Apple support people, they have done checks based on Capture Data that I sent to them via email, etc.. They can't find the problem in the software/setup and they advised me to go the Genius Bar and have those guys look at the computer's guts.
Restarting sometimes did set the MAC to the real one, also running the code that someone suggested in Terminal sometimes helped.
Other than that, looking through the web, it does not seem to be an Apple-unique problem, but certainly one would like to see support to take care of that issue for Macs soon.
Also, thanks a lot for this thread! Otherwise the support guys on the phone would not have believed my : "the Mac address changes on a daily basis" and would just have brushed me off.
    All the best,
    Susanne

  • Linker Error while building files refering to NI-DAQ API

    Software: MATLAB 5.3
    O/S : Windows 98
    C Compiler : Microsoft VC++ 6.0
We are trying to make an executable of an Application involving both of MatLab and C Files
The file SCANsingleBufSync2.c is C program calling National Instruments NI-DAQ API's. This C program is called by displayCnt3.m,a MatLab Program. Both of the files are individually compiled using
    mcc -x SCANsingleBufSync2.c, ...
    That works fine.
When trying to make a build , using
    mcc -B sgl displayCnt3 SCANsingleBufSync2.c
it is throwing the following error.(pl. refer section at end)
Basically it is not able to do Link. The MatLab path has been set to look into the NI-DAQ .dlls
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Ni-daq\Includes and
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Ni-daq\Lib
Also the Windows path has been set to the above two directories through the autoexec.bat.
    Suggestions Please,
    Thanks in advace,

I'm not very familiar with MATLAB, but you are getting link errors most likely because you aren't linking in the .LIB files for NI-DAQ properly. They are nidaq32.lib and nidex32.lib in the NI-DAQ\lib directory. They need to be linked in with the code to resolve these symbols.

  • FRF Problem about amplitudes of two sine signals

    Hi everyone,
I'm carrying out a FRF operation between two acquised signals, so I decided to simulate it simply first.I created two dummy sine signals with 50 Hz frequency value and "1" amplitude level for both. And I divide the second signal with a integer and took the FRF function between them, as below.
as expected for all frequencies, the result is 0,5 which comes from the ratio of sig2 to sig1.
    But, when I changed the integer value to a float, 1,3 for example, it results nonsense;
Why these two processes do not match?
    Thanks,
    Ozgur

Deborah, it happens every time as Jeff indicated. Thanks anyway.
Jeff, am I understanding right, you're saying that the graph shows the sum of the errors that caused by the uncertainity? And there is another thing, when the data is not simulated but acquised, there will be not a precise amplitude and frequency valuei will it the FRF block go crazy then ?
I've tried that process with several post-processing softwares; MATLAB, dbFA Suite (A vibratory daq system interface). All results different
Do you have any suggestions to solve that? Or can it be corrected?
    Regards,
    Ozgur

  • Does Java 7 cause OS X Mavericks to crash?

    Dear Apple Support Community,
I have recently updated to Java version 7 update 67, to support the retina display capabilities of my Macbook Pro with third party software (Matlab R2014a, Mathworks). Mavericks has crashed several times since the update. Each crash occurred while different programs were running ; the system froze and became completely unresponsive – forcing a manual shutdown by holding the power button.
Are there known issues using Java 7 with OS X Mavericks? And are there any known solutions?
    Many thanks,
    this_username_is_taken

    Dear Linc & Disguise,
It is possible that believe that I had opened and closed Matlab before each crash. Console output follows.
    Thanks,

  • Problems con opcenum after installing LabView 2014

After installing LabView 2014, all other OPC compliant software (Matlab with the OPC Toolbox, Wonderware SCADA, OPC Demo Client from Softing, ...) previously installed on my PC (Windows 7) started to have problems in browsing OPC Servers. They were unable to connect with opcenum service for listing installed OPC servers. After manually unregistering opcenum and registering again as a service (and cleaning the windows register), everything was solved.
So I guess there is a bug with the labview installer that mess things up with the opcenum service. I haven't found anything on the web but in case anyone has the same problem, this is the "manual" solution. Anyway, I would like to ask NI to revise the problem.
    Regards,
    Jesús

    Hello,
I haven´t heard of this issue with a standard LabView install, however there is a known issue with the standard DSC install. Have you installed DSC 7.1? If so you need to go in and modify the DSC install to uninstall the "Keyboard Filter". The filter causes the computer to hang when it attempts to suspend.

  • Search 2D Array

I need to search for a 2D array, and report the row index. I have serached the array and mathematics functions, but none can handle this extrememly simple task, that is easily done in all other software,(MATLAB, VB, Excel etc).
I hope I am wrong, and there is a simple VI to handle this task, because I introduced LabVIEW to my colleagues, and I feel embarrased, when they asked me this question, and I can not find a simple VI, but have to start designing a for or while loop for a simple task.

    DFGray wrote:
It may be faster to reshape the array to a 1D array, do the search (once), then reshape back to 2D (presuming you are using again.  You will need to convert from position in the 1D array to position in the 2D array, but that is a simple operation.
    Here's an old example.
(To find only the first match, delete the two loop structures. )
(If there is only one match, you could do a comparison between the array (of any dimension!) and the element to be found, followed by "boolean to 0,1), followed by "array min/max". The index output of the array max is the desired value. )
    DFGray wrote:
Please add this functionality as a suggestion in the LabVIEW Idea Exchange.  I will vote for it!
The functionality we need is is a simple polymorphic VI ("Search array" would replace the current "search 1D array") that accepts arrays of any dimensionality and returns the index as an array, one element for each dimension. The start index would accept such an array too. (There might be some problems incrementing to the next element when searching for multiple occurrences, so we might need some helper tools).
The function would search the elements in the order of the flattened array.

  • Does the PXI447X and PXI3060E divide the signal by two when connected differentially?

I would like to measure vibration motion with sensors which measure ground velocity.
I would like also to work in a differential way to eliminate the noise. We have bought the acquisition device NI PXI1042Q that contains two acquisition cards : NI PXI4472B and NI PXI6030E.
For the NI PXI4472B, we have connected the positive signal and the negative signal of one sensor to one (of the eight) channel of the DAQ (See the outline on the attached file). So, we are in a differential way.
For the NI PXI6030E, we have put the switch to "diff" to be configurated as differential. For one sensor, we have so connected the positive signal to the channel 0 and the negative signal to the channel 8 for example (See the outline on the attached file).
I would like to know if my two acquisition cards, after having substracted positive from negative signals of my sensors, make themselves the division by two of the resulting signal, or if I have to the division by my own. In fact, substracting positive and negative signals make the amplitude to be multiplied by two. So, the amplitude have to be divided by two.

    outline.doc ‏38 KB

    Hello Sannaa,
Thank you for your reply. So, you said that I don't have to divide my acquisition result by two. But is it because the division is done by the DAQ, or is it because the signal result of a sensor is ‘(positive signal – negative signal)’ and not ‘(positive signal – negative signal)/2?
Also, for the NI PXI4472B, I said that I had connected the positive signal and the negative signal of one sensor to one (of the eight) channel of the DAQ to be differential (pseudo) But I don’t know if that solution was good because the documentation say that we can't make a non-ground connection to the shield.
So the other possibility was to use 2 channels, one for the positive signal with its ground and the other one for the negative signal with its ground (see the outline in the attached file). Here, I do the subtraction between the two channels by my own thanks to a software (‘Matlab’). So, I don’t know if the positive signal is divided by two (and the same thing for the negative signal), or if I have to do it by my own thanks to a software (in the case that the signal result of a sensor is ‘(positive signal – negative signal)/2)
    Thanks a lot,

  • Mac divider has changed

hi can u please help me i am runing os 10.8 and my mac divider in the dock has changed to the old one please help i want the new one back

    Dear all,
I am having the same problem with a new MacBook Pro, bought end of October - for me it became apparent for software (Matlab, Comsol) that are registered with a licence file which was created based on the MAC address, and also when trying to register the computer to the company network.
    All the best,
    Susanne

  • I have some software problems of running matlab script node in the LabVIEW program.

    Hi there,
I wrote a simple matlab code, like x= 1, y = x*2. Then I tried to put them into matlab script node in LabVIEW.
However, when I ran the program, I couldn't run and Labiew show some error.
Then I tried the method talked before on this forum. Please see the following link.

I followed the instruction and open the "command prompt," type some commands then I could run the program, and simultaneously, the LabVIEW program open "Matlab command line window" and run my labview code. However, if I didn't use the command prompt, the  "matlab command window" will not be opened by running the labview program. It would just show some error. And even if I turn on the matlab program in advance, I still couldn't run the labview program.
Is there any effecient way to deal with this problem without using "command prompt?" Because I try another PC with both matlab and labview installed on it, I "can" run my simple matlab script node on it, and it will open the matlab command line window automatically by running my code. Therefore, I thought there might be some software linking problems in the previous PC I used . Do you have any ideas?
    Thanks in advacne.

This board is for Mathscript, but you seem to have a matlab problem. You should probably post in the LabVIEW forum instead.
What is your LabVIEW version? What is you matlab version?

  • No eth0 device required to activate Matlab software

So, MathWorks requires a local Host-ID in order to use their Matlab software. According to their docs this is how you find the Host-ID, but such steps did not work for me.
    https://www.mathworks.com/support/activ … ogethostid
Also, when I attempt to start Matlab with a license file using what I thought to be the correct Host-ID I just get this error:
    License checkout failed.
    License Manager Error -9
The hostid of your computer (000000000000) does not match the hostid of the license file
    (0024be323423).
    Troubleshoot this issue by visiting:
    http://www.mathworks.com/support/lme/R2012a/9
    Diagnostic Information:
    Feature: SR_MATLAB
    License path: /home/branden/.matlab/R2012a_licenses:/home/branden/Programs/matlab/licenses/license.dat:/home/brand
    en/Programs/matlab/licenses/license.lic
    Licensing error: -9,57.
Which says my Host-ID is all zeros?
If I attempt and use the Matlab Installer's automatic activation it will fail for this very reason (Host-ID being found as 000000000000).
Error -2,007: Unable to activate your machine. The activation process cannot detect a
valid Host ID which utilizes a currently supported naming convention. Please refer to the
following solution ID, to help resolve this issue: 1-661QJD
I think this problem has to do with not actually having any "eth0" that is expected by matlab according to:
    http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/ … th0-device
    For instance:
    [branden@localhost net]$ ls /sys/class/net/
    enp8s0 lo wlp6s0

This is what you seek if you want an eth0: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … Interfaces
Or crack open the thing that generates the Host ID (assuming it's not compiled) and replace eth0 with (probably) enp0s23 or whatever you NIC name is.
I saw that in my research but was worried that actually changing the name of the device would cause other cascading issues. Will this be the case?
Also, being quite new to Arch Linux, I do not have anything in /etc/udev/rules.d/
Do I just create the file 10-network.rules from the link you posted?
    This solution worked perfectly.

  • Installing matlab using wine software

I have windows set up for matlab 2010a . How can i install that in my macbook pro  using wine software.

FWIW, my advice is forget Wine (for this purpose). If you need to run the Win version, use Boot Camp. Why not check with MathWorks about the Mac version. The student licence should allow you to install it on two computers -- maybe you can make it 1 Mac and 1 Win…

  • How to use matlab code in Labview without having MATLAB software. I tried to convert .m files into .dll files. But i could not do. Please help me out..

Yes. It can be done. But Math script can not evaluate all functions in .m files (There are some exceptions).
And those can perhaps easily be ported to LabVIEW/MathScript?
It is not sufficient to disregard running your Matlab code in LabVIEW based on a few exceptions without first thoroughly evaluating the impact they have.
If you want to stick with Matlab in your implementation, then there are other avenues than hypotethizing about the limited portability issues of using MathScript in your project?
