Software not recognizing device

Software not recognizing devicezSince installing Windows 7, the Creative software such as Console lancher, Creative Control Panel, etc will not launch and returns an error message telling me that "The current selected device is not supported by the application. I have downloaded and installed the most current software/drivers for this product and operating system and have made sure that the card is properly installed. The device is recognized and present in the Device Manager and appears to be working properly.
I am using a SB Extreme Audio card that was factory installed on aa Asus P6T Deluxe board. All worked well with the original Vista OS but after switching to Win7, the problems began. I have done a complete uninstall of the drivers and software as well as running "Driver sweeper" to root out any remaining elements before re-installing the software and drivers. I also have the .onboard SoundMax audio disabled through the CMOS.
My system specs are as follows:
Core i7 965 Extreme
Asus P6T Deluxe
2GB Corsair 600 Dominator
EVGA 295-GTX
000w Ultra PS
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

I should have posted this some time ago. I was contacted by Eric Albers from Saris in mid-November with a PowerAgent update that fixes the problem.
Here is the email I got from Eric:
Thanks for your continued patience. As of today we have a version of PowerAgent that should resolve the issue for everybody without the need to boot into safe mode to download your data.
Please download and install PowerAgent 7.5.8.47 from the link below. Be sure that you are not in safe mode when installing or using this version PowerAgent, also the installation steps have changed slightly so please be sure to follow them carefully.

  • HT204406 Updated software. iTunes not recognizing devices.

I recently updated my Mac with Mac OS Lion to get it to version 10.6. Now my iTunes is not recognizing any of my devices nor letting me purchase music in iTunes.  What am I missing? How do I get my devices recognized with this new software version?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
The latest iTunes version is 11.0.1. Open iTunes > About iTunes to check the version, and if you don't have this version, open  > Software Update to install the most recent version

  • Windows 7 not recognizing device - Dell Wireless 5620 EVDO HSPA Mobile Broadband Mini Card

Windows 7 is not recognizing my Dell Wireless 5620 EVDO HSPA Mobile Broadband Mini Card (Qualcomm Gobi 2000).  I can't even uninstall the driver, it says that I don't have "sufficient permission" to stop device or something to that effect
(though I'm an administrator).  I also can't re-install the same or different driver.  I might have installed the wrong driver, though this is supposed to be the correct one according to Dell after typing in my service tag.  I went to the FTP
to get one specifically for "Verizon Wireless", but I can't uninstall the prior driver.
How can I fix these issues?  Thanks.

    Hi,
    Any update?
Have you tried safe mode mentioned in the first reply? What is the status of the driver in device manager? For "Verizon Wireless", have you installed any verizon software or related verizon device? Uninstall this kind software, then uninstll driver again
    as a test.
Contact this support, maybe they can give some different ideas.

  • TOUCHSMART 520 PC NOT RECOGNIZING DEVICES IN THE USB PORT.

When I plug any devices into the USB port, they are not recognized.  The computer acts as if they are not there.  The devices (MP3, camera, Garmin, etc) turn on, so I know that they are connected.  The Printer and wireless mouse that connect through the USB port still work and I have tried changing ports...it doesn't make any difference.  Even if I try to search for thr device, the computer does not find it.  Any ideas?

  • Burning software not recognized

Had to install new burning software (Nero). ITunes won't recognize burner; can't burn songs from playlist. Tells me to reinstall iTunes. If I do, do I lose my song Library?

    Hi Jon,
I am not sure exactly what the problem is with iTunes not recognizing your cd drive for burning playlists, but you can be rest assured that reinstalling iTunes will not delete your library. You music library should be located in your "My Music" folder, which is separate from the location of iTunes.
The problem might have something to do with "AutoRun" of CDs in iTunes, perhaps a setting got changed when you installed Nero. However, I am not sure how to fix the problem- sorry!
Hope that is of some help to you

  • BIOS on Satellite L350 is not recognizing devices

    Hi
I have a Satalite L350 which was crashing in windows after about 1 min of loading up. I thought perhaps the hard drive was faulty, so I tried to run a program I have called PC Check 6. I then discovered the cd drive would not read. I then tried a USB CD drive and still it would not boot up from disc. After resetting the BIOS to default settings I discovered that the BIOS was not recognizing any devices other than the hard disk. I took the hard disk out and tested with PC Check via another PC and HD Passed.
I now want to reinstall windows but CD Drive wont boot. I asume the problem is with my BIOS (InsydeH20 version 1.5) Perhaps flashing it would work? But.... no CD and USB devices :S
Any ideas what I can do please?

    Hi
I dont think that BIOS is the problem.
The BIOS has recognized the HDD properly. Right?
Well, I think the internal CD/DVD drive is faulty if the BIOS cannot recognize this
Furthermore the BIOS of the L350 does not support booting from USB CD/DVD drive.
    This is not possible
If you want to install the OS from recovery disk, then you will need to replace the internal CD/DVD drive because it seems to be faulty
Of course this is my personal option and just a suggestion

  • Computer suddenly not recognizing device

My computer is not recognizing my iPhone 5 when I plug it in to transfer purchases and update.  I have had the phone for awhile and it was working just fine.

Great! It's not the first thing you think of, but my philosophy is "when in doubt, reboot." What probably happened is the AppleMobileDeviceService crashed. This is the easiest way to restart it.

  • Headphone Jack Not Recognizing Devices

Just stepped up from an old G4 iMac 17" to an slightly newer intel iMac 17" and I'm missing my old
clear plastic "ball" speakers. There is a different type of jack on these than the 1/8" input on my new (older) iMac so I can't use them. The built in speakers just don't do it for me on this current machine.
So to get to my point, I tried plugging a pair of powered speakers into the headphone jack and they were not recognized in the sound control panel. Tried with headphones and same thing. Only "internal speakers" appears in the control panel. I asked someone at an Apple store about this and he told me to look for a red light inside the headphone jack. If I saw red then this most likely would mean the jack is fried. I checked and did NOT see any red light.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks in advance !

    Hi moJo
Sounds like a hardware problem with the Output jack, the sound card or that section of the logic board.
If you are stuck with that iMac for whatever reason, then your best bet might be to pick up a Griffin USB Audio Interface. > http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic/

  • USB device not recognized/device software was not successfully installed

IPOD touch 4 also not showing up in ITUNES

Just fixed my ipod nano problem on my own and figured I'd  share as I have just spent the last 4 hours trying to trouble shoot all  of Apple's problems...following everyone's tips...nothing worked until I  figured it out on my own.
I'm running windows 7 and have an Ipod Nano (6th Gen).  Hard  drive crashed on computer.  Replaced HD.  Everything works fine now.   Downloaded iTunes along with all other programs.  Nano wouldn't show up  or sync on iTunes.  Said Device Driver Software was not successfully  installed (some USB problems).  Tried everything.  Finally, I figured it  out.
Disconnect Nano.  Uninstall iTunes AS WELL AS
Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update.  Apple only
tells you to uninstall iTunes and reinstall..restart computer bla bla  bla.  I said screw it and uninstalled all Apple programs (well, the  listed ones above).  I hooked up my nano to my computer to make sure the  device manager recognized it without anything else plugged in...and it  did.  I unplugged it.  Reinstall iTunes and all three other Apple  programs listed above will also reinstall.  I opened iTunes and plugged  in my nano.  It started with the "installing device driver software" and  I was sure
it wasn't going to work.  Well, it did work.  My  nano showed up in the upper right bar of iTunes and synced.  Unreal...  I  unplugged my nano and plugged in the wife's.  Once again, "installing  device driver software."  Voila!  Her's showed up and synced too.  I  plugged mine back it to make sure it worked and it did.  I'm done.  It's  working.  Hope these steps work for you as well.

  • USB suddenly not recognizing devices

    Hello,
    I have a problem.
My MacBook Pro suddenly stopped recognizing usb devices. This morning everything was working fine, but for some reason a couple of hours later it's not working anymore.
I can connect my phone via usb and it's reloading the battery. I can't get into my files though, while I was able to do that this morning.
My MaKey MaKey also gets power and the lights flash. I can use it to play an online game. It isn't being recognized as an usb device though, and I can't upload new code to it.
I haven't changed anything between the point it was working and the point it is not working anymore.
The only change is that I've tried to connect my MaKey MaKey and upload code to it. But that didn't work, because it said there was nothing connected to my usb port. That's how I found out that it was broken.
I have tried resetting my PRAM and SMC but it both didn't help.

    Thanks for your answer.
I already tried the things listed in the link you sent, but unfortunately they didn't work.
However, a few hours after I posted my question things started working again. I can connect my phone again, and the MaKey MaKey shows up in the USB list if you go to About this Mac. Still can't upload anything to it though.
But I guess my problem is solved.

  • Blackberry Link - not recognizing device and does not allow synching calendar and contacts

I cannot get Blackberry Link to work properly on my laptop running Windows 8.1 Pro.  It takes a very long time to open and it does not allow me to sign in saying there is no internet connection and I cannot get around resolving this issue.  That is problem 1.  Problem 2, Blackberry Link sometimes recognizes the device and sometimes it does not.  Problem 3, when I do get Link to recognize the device, (it can backup), synching the calender and contacts on the device to Outlook does not work.  I try to do a one way synch from the device to outlook and it processes but Outlook is not updated (outlook has no contacts or calendar events as I want to pull them off my device).
    Any ideas?  Thanks.

  • Disabled/not recognized device

My 4th gen ipod touch went into disabled mode.  When I go to restore it my computer/itunes does not recognize the device.  I have tried everything from using different plugs to uninstalling and re-installing itunes.  Any advice would be appreciated.

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
