I am looking for a software package to emulate Photoshop elements on Leopard (since elements wont work). form the comments below it appears that Aperture has major problems. two questions 1:does it doe everything that Elements can and 2: Is it reliable

You could try Lightzone (http://www.lightcrafts.com/ - various people on this forum have mentioend it in the past), Graphic Converter (http://www.lemkesoft.com/content/188/graphicconverter.html - complicated interface, powerful, but doesn't have layers), or GIMP for Mac (http://www.gimp.org/macintosh/ - not the easiest of interfaces, either. Requires installation of Leopard's X11 support.)
Depending upon what you actually need from an image manipulation product, you could also try Livequartz (http://www.rhapsoft.com/), Pixelmator (http://www.pixelmator.com/) or Acorn (http://flyingmeat.com/acorn/) which are all essentially interfaces on top of Mac OS X's inbuilt technologies.

Software Purchase Question

Hello All -
I am contemplating moving from PC to a MacBook Pro with Retina Display and a loaded up iMac.
My question pertains to the way that software is licensed via the App Store on an Apple. When you download an app, it can go to both an iphone and ipad. I am wondering if I were to download paid software(Finl Cut Pro, Motion, etc) onto my Macbook, would I also be able to access them on my iMac, or would I have to purchase separate licenses?

Unless stipulated otherwise you can install any software purchased in the App Store on all the computers that your own. It is tied to your Apple ID so each computer should use the same Apple ID for authorization.
If you sell the computers at some later date you cannot transfer your license to a new owner. They must purchase their own software using their Apple ID.

Recently replace logic board. Cannot open software purchased from Ap Store.

The Power supply and Logic Board were replaced. Now I cannot open software purchased from Ap Store. Computer gave message this was purchased for another computer and go go Ap Stor.   I did, and nothing suggested what to do??? Suggestions?

You only know a very small part of the story.   THE ORIGINAL iMAC WAS ONLY JUST OVER A MONTH OLD! The original Appointment was screwed up by Apple Support(?). I was told to drop it off in the morning and return for the 3:15PM appointment, which I did only to find there had been no appointment made, but the case number was in the system. I was told 3-5 days only to be notified by e-mail on the third day the logic board (motherboard) was bad.   Another wait. A week later it was ready and it ran from about noon until the next day about 11 AM when it had an update that required a restart where is promptly died during the restart. The Mgr of the Apple Store was gracious and had the computer replaced with a new one rather than trying something else.   Perhaps, you think it is fun to sit in a noisy store for half an hour or more, but I sure don't. Where is Apple's QC??? China!
I owned a computer business for 15 years and never once made a customer go through this much trouble.
If my computers made it through a 72 hour burn-in and did not have a problem in the next couple of weeks it never did have a failure.   My 15 year record of building computers had less than a 1% failure rate.
By the way, for your information if a new logic board is installed (I seemed to see several being done each visit) and the App does not recognize it, just uninstall it and go to the App store and re-install it.

If they are iOS apps and you are signed into your computer's iTunes with the same account that you originally bought them with then they should show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page.
If they are Mac apps bought from the Mac App Store and you are signed in with the same account, then they should show under the Purchases tab in the Mac App Store.

Did you know that the software purchased from the App Store could be an old version?

Today I purchased Adobe Photoshops Elements fro the App Store. I never thought to check the version number, it never crossed my mind that could be the old version I was buying. Apparently the latest version available on the App store is version 10 however the new version 11 was released back in Spetember apparently. Once I had realised my error (as I would never have bought it if I was aware of this) I contacted Apple tech support. To cut to the chase they believe that I was not mis-sold the software as the software states version 10 in the App Store.

Adobe must send the application to the App Store so Apple can put it in the App Store. If you want 11, purchase it in Adobe webpage or contact with Adobe and ask them if they're going to send the most recent version to Apple

How do I download my software purchases with Snow Leopard

I had a virus on my iMac desktop. I erased entire hard drive after I did a backup. I installed my original software that came with my computer (Snow Leopard). Now I cannot download Yosemite which I have already purchased.

You need to apply the 'combo updater' to bring Snow Leopard up to 10.6.8 and make the App Store availablle. Then you will be able to use that to install Yosemite.

Many problems with software activation with software purchased online

All:
In the last few weeks, I have had a lot of problems with software activation.
I purchased 10 copies of Office. 5 would not activate. I took the software back to the local as suggested by customer service, but was denied an exchange.
I purchased 7 copies of Adobe Photoshop elements. 3 activated, the rest did not.
What is going on? Can I get these replaced, refunded, or activated?

That’s quite the amount of software to purchase! I’m sure you were quite disappointed to find that not all of the software codes seemed to be activated, delaying your use of the software. I’m glad you’ve reached out to us in multiple ways to see what options are available to you, and I apologize if we have been unable to find a resolution for you.
Using the email address you registered with the forum, I was only able to locate eight copies of Microsoft Office, and couldn’t locate any copies of the Adobe Photoshop Elements. That being said, I was able to see that some of the codes did fail to process through the activation process. I would be happy to look into getting these activated for you.

OSX Upgrade and new software purchases slow down Mac and Battery won't hold charge?

Any assistance appreciated:
I have recently upgraded my OSX from Snow Leopard, which I was quite happy with, and was ticking over very nicely.
And, today, I have problems???
I was using Snow Leopard, I purchased Mainstage 2 for my musical work... Nice piece of Kit..
I then notice 'Apple', bring out Mainstage 3 about 10 days later???
I check out the spec, will not run on my OSX...
I then check out Mainstage 3 and find that it would be a better version than 2..
I then decide that the extra stuff in Mainstage 3 is worth the price of an OSX upgrade, and the newer Mainstage 3 version although I had recently purchased Ver 2..
I do the upgrade, seems to have worked fine...
I purchase Mainstage 3, get that installed, and the Xtra's.... What is that all about?
It took me well over 12 hrs to get those...
Any road up, I get everything installed and functioning....
Now, my Mac is Slllooooow..
The Battery will not hold it's charge... Runs for only 2 hours MAX and then needs recharging???
The MacBook was bought only 18 month ago??? 2011 edition..
I have an IBM ThinkPad 240 and it still holds more charge than my Mac....
Help appreciated Folks...
For the dosh I have paid to 'Apple', the product and software should operate and function better than this???

Download software purchased last year

I recently bought a new mac and I want to do a clean install of my design premium suite cs 5.5. I have the install discs for cs5 but purchased the cs 5.5 update from adobe. I have read the forum about downloading purchased software, but my order history only shows the last 30 day. My products and service page only lists the serial number, no download information.

Report on last app update date for software purchased

Like many of you, I've purchased and downloaded many apps for my Apple computers. Many I no longer use and have not installed when going to 10.10.
Is there a simple way to report on all of the apps a customer has purchased, and display the last time they were updated? It would be great to know what software is still being updated. Then we can also see what software apps haven't been updated in quite a long time. I'm more likely to want to download software I purchased two or three years ago if it is still actively maintained. Yes, I know I can go through each title and write down the last time it was updated. Is there an easier way to get this information?

Have you ever went through iTS to obtain receipts or know anyone that has?
I'm curious on their turnaround time and if they include in one spreadsheet like list or separate receipts according to dates like the PH in iTunes.
Do you know if the PH in iTunes includes the purchases through the iPhone as well as iTunes desktop?

HT4928 Cannot find my software purchases

Lion crashed when installing Mountain Lion...had to install a new hard drive and start fress. Installed, files transferred fine, but now need to reinstall Mac and PC software such as Keynote and Power Point...can't find these among my prior purchases at the App Store.
Where should I go to find these items?

The App Store will only show the prior purchases you have purchased from the App Store, and not ones that you had on a prior computer or which you purchased from a different location. Powerpoint is not available through the App Store so it will not be shown as a previous purchase. You will need to get copies of these purchases from elsewhere.
This same issue applies to Pages, Keynote, and Numbers if you purchased them outside of the Mac App Store.

When installing software purchased from TechSoup Canada, Installation Failed

While attempting to install CS6 that was purchased from TechSoupCanada, the Installation Failed with a message that it is not Adobe Genuine Software. I was sent a key from TechSoupCanada and followed the download instructions provided, using the key I was given for installation. Why is it telling me that the software is not genuine when I have paid for it through TechSoupCanada?

I am sorry RickySue but the Adobe Genuine Software indicates that your downloads are becoming corrupted. Considering the multiple methods you have attempted the stability of your Internet connection is the likely cause at this point.
I would recommend contacting your Internet Service Provider to report the stability issues you are experiencing. You can also use a USB drive to use the direct download option on another computer which does have an alternate Internet Connection.

My iPod touch does not have new software (purchased Jan 26th)

I know a similar question has been asked and was solved, but this situation is slightly different. I'm in South Korea and purchased my iPod at a store similar to a WalMart. Anyway, I purchased the iPod a few hours ago (on the 26th of January) and noticed that it did not have any of the new software updates (i.e. maps, stocks, weather, etc.) I'd love to have those programs on my iPod and I even waited until after they were released so I wouldn't have to pay for them like was said... and am quite disappointed that my iPod doesn't have the said software. I have a receipt and everything to prove the purchase... does anybody know of a number I can call or anybody I can speak to to sort this issue out?

This is very frustrating. I called the Apple Customer Service in USA but the lady on the phone was not helpful to me in any sense. I tried calling the number that was mentioned above but for whatever reason, it says the number does not exist. Calling the Apple Store in Korea (which is on the other side of the country, no less) was not useful as I was met with a voice recording in Korean (I don't speak Korean).
In any case, I asked the lady over the phone in USA if I could receive a credit over the phone... she basically laughed at me which was quite rude. I understand that I might have to visit an Apple Store, but considering there's only one in this country and it's way on the other side, financially, it doesn't make sense. I also don't feel right having to pay $20 for software that I should be entitled to considering I purchased the iPod after the release of everything. I own two MacBook's and this would be my third iPod... I've given Apple their fair share of my money... I'm not giving $20 here.
Does anybody have any other suggestions/solutions? Is there an e-mail address I can contact that anybody knows of? ... Thanks to all the other suggestions.
