Software restore DVD not working

I deleted my GarageBand library and can't boot the software. So I'm restoring from the DVD. I launch the DVD, then click Software/App Restore, go through a few dialogs, then makes my desktop items disappear, with a centered window that tells me to click "continue" to begin the software restoration process. I click continue, and it asks me to insert the DVD with the label with two circles on it. But that's the DVD that's already spinning in my optical drive!? So I pull it out, insert it back in, and nothing happens. I've tried rebooting, didn't work. I've tried launching from the DVD by holding down C, but that dims my screen and tells me 'fatal error' and tells me to reboot by holding the power button.
So what's up and what are my options?

Make sure when booting from the DVD, no third party peripherals are attached.
If there are none, you may have a hardware issue on your computer preventing you from booting from the DVD.

Where Can I Find The Fonts On My 2 Software Restore DVDs ?

Recently I completely erased my eMac and installed OSX Tiger from a Tiger DVD, which I then updated to OSX 10.4.10.
I was able to retrieve the original eMac applications from the Software Restore DVDs using Software Restore.
However, I have just discovered that the latest OS does not include all the previous fonts. Some of my favourites including Portago and Textile are missing.
I assume that these fonts are somewhere on the original eMac DVDs - but where are they and how do I get at them?
I have Pacifist but am not too sure about its use.

When you've installed SL it will be 10.6.3. You need to update that to 10.6.8 with the combo installer from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 - that gives you access to the Mac App store.
Lion is only available by phone also - same number and they'll give you a download code to use in the Mac App Store.
If you're going to Mountain Lion you don't need to install Lion first - you can do it straight from Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Not able to sign into Blackberry Protect. Backup and Restore function not working. Message is: "Your device isn't associated with a Blackberry ID." My Blackberry Messenger and Blackberry World is working fine so I am sure its not an ID issue on the phone. I can sign into Link, Blackberry.com and Protect. I see my device in Protect but cannot send messages or view it on a map. Times out with cannot reach device message. BB Protect on Device has a swirling circle beside the on/of switch. Cannot turn off.
I have deleted Link and re-installed.
I have reset phone to default(factory) and signed in.
OS level is 10.2.1.3062
BB Link is 1.2.3.56

I managed to figure this out myself. I had to delete the device from the Blackberry Protect website. protect.blackberry.com. I wiped my device again and signed in with my Blackberry ID. I dont know if the step of wiping was necessary as I did not try my backup with the current configuration on the device following the delete. Restore is in progress for me!

From the Safari menu bar, select

Maybe a reset would help, to be followed by trying the recovery again.
To reset, hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then do the recovery.
If this doesn't solve it, I recommend visiting an Authorized Apple Service Center.

It sounds like there is definitely a system problem. The whole OS seems to be messed up.
Do you have an MS Windows 7 disk?
In such case you could start the Windows 7 Startup Repair process using the MS Win 7 disk.
Boot from Win 7 disk, after the temporal files has been load, you should get and window where you could choose between the OS installation and other options. The second option called Repair you Computer is the one which would be needed to get the system repaired.
Then wait for System Recovery Options to locate Windows 7 on the HDD.
Then choose the Windows 7 installation and then the next window should appear providing the option to repair the system Startup Repair
But in case this workaround would not help you, the system should be reinstalled once again using Toshiba Recovery disk

If you're not a developer then you really should not have upgraded.
I'm unsure how you can fix this as you have already done a back-up on iOS 7 and apple don't support firmware downgrades.

Basically: My XP software Disc will not work on my Windows 8.1 computer for my HP PSC 2355v All In One Printer. Needless to say I can print with a downloaded driver but can not use the Managerial software on the XP disc. When I try to work from the printer it does not recognize the computer, so is there HP software out there that can be downloaded simply to my computer? If so, Where and How can I get it. When I went in to have it revert back to os6 (which worked fine!) I was actually asked if I had done any research before I installed the upgrade! As if this is the consumer's fault for being dumb enough to fall for the upgrade!

That is not what I have discovered, nor what others have discovered, nor what I was told when I went the Genius Bar. I cannot remotely mirror to my MacBook Pro and it only started the day after I installed the upgrade. We tested it with an iPad that had not been upgraded, no problem.

SCCM 2012 Software Metering is not working

SCCM 2012 Software Metering is not working in our environment. Other than software metering, reports work just fine.
I have created a few simple software metering rules with “Acrobat.exe” and “Outlook.exe”. Rules are enabled. Rules were on at least 6 months.
When I go to software metering reports, Month parameter value is empty and I can’t choose any value.
I ran runmetersumm.exe on our server, it did not work as intended. :
Summarizing data up to 0 hours old.
File Usage Summary added -1 rows in 0 seconds.
Monthly Usage Summary added -1 rows in 0 seconds.
I am stumped. Why would it add minus rows?
Any ideas how I can make software metering work on our environment?

Finally figured it out.
mtrmgr.log did not find any rules when I ran executables. So I knew it wasn't working on the server side.
After searching for a while, I found the solution from the link below:

1. Deleted RULECHG.RTA under policypv.box folder
2. Removed and recreated metering rules again.

DB Restore does not work on MSSMS 2014 under WIndows8.1

When attempting to restore a DB which was backed up on a different machine (same names but SQL EXPRESS 2012) under MS 2014 running on WIndows 8.1 into a SQL Express DB, the following happens:
1. Open Restore task
2. Select Device to get 'Select backup devices"
3. Invoke "Add" and expect to see a browser. Instead, a backup file location is indicated and no browsing is permitted in the "Locate Backup File" Even when the path and file names are just typed in, the Restore will not work.

SQL Server does not allow you to restore or attach a database from a higher version of SQL Server to a lower version of SQL Server in your case from SQL 2014 to SQlL 2012, however you can generate script in SQL 2014 and execute it on SQL 2012.

Did your computer crash or did Firefox crash causing the loss of the bookmarks?
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.
