Software tools for profiling apps and os for power usage

I worked in windows and used windows performance toolkit, this is used to profile the applications for its usage on cpu, power, memory and other system resources.
i think there should be some similar tool in mac os x for identifying the most power consuming applications, though there is a way to identify "Apps consuming significant energy". i want to know, which app will is using most of battery and cpu over a time among all. so that i can avoid using them.

Try MenuMeters. It hasn't been updated for a while but works fine in Mavericks.

Of course web servers and web clients can be on different machines. That's how the web works. Your browser (the web client) connects to Google's web server, when you use Google.
And when it does so, it does it by opening a socket (TCP, as opposed to UDP, by the way) and sending information in the format that the HTTP protocol specifies. Generally speaking, if you can connect to a given machine with a raw socket, you can also connect using HTTP (which is just a socket with some particular stuff going over it). The only difference is if there's a firewall or the like sitting between the two hosts... but that'll be an issue regardless, and anyway HTTP is as likely to be let through a firewall as anything these days.
If you can use the HTTP stuff provided in the JDK or in add-on libraries, you'll be saving yourself a lot of trouble with the low-level stuff. Unless the point of this project is to learn the low-level stuff, you're probably better off just going with HTTP.

When I updated my iPhone to IOS 5.0 software, it deleted my apps and I do not know why.

When I downloaded the newest 5.0 IOS software update, it delted my apps for no reason. I do not know how to get them back or why they were deleted in the first place. Please help!! I paid much money for many of my apps and I expect apple to do something about it.

This may be an error caused by the update. You can try to sync your contact information with iCloud and backup the rest of your data and then restore the device and see if it starts to work normally again.

I just had a bill with $112 overage for voice, I believe the overage began 13 days before the end of my billing cycle. If I'm reading the above correctly I should have been notified but wasn't. Associate I spoke with couldn't explain but did offer 30% discount. @.45/min. the charge is much too high anyway. Can anyone explain why I wasn't notified so I could avoid this overage?

I understand your frustration of receiving a bill that isn't what you expected but sometimes this happened because a number of possible things that may have been over looked or even simply a possible error but I have to point out that the usage automated system updates daily but isn't guaranteed to be 100% reliable because of a number of different variables that could cause the information to be off. My suggestion is to use the #BAL from the device or #MIN to check usage, these are usually closer to the correct usage balance.
Another got suggestion to avoid this from happening is to log into your MyVerizon app on your device or online and keep track of your activity there..

Just upgraded to 2.0 software, having issues with apps and fetching

what is fetching? it is set to manual fetching right now? what does that do and how do i fetch? also, i downloaded 9 free apps, and iTunes said it couldnt sync them to my ipod because i don't have privelages for them on my computer. can anyone help me with this? the apps are in my iTunes, but i cannot find a place to run them on my ipod. thanks!

Fetching is the ipod manually looking for the new data,its not pushed to the ipod like mobile me is. And I have no clue about you app problem. DId you purchase them on the same computer that is the main computer for the ipod?

K8MM3 and Sempron 3300+, power usage

Setup (in an old box) : I am using a K8MM3-V mainboard with a Sempron 3300+ with an older power supply (for a P4 and 300W) that rates 12V at 12A, Maxtor 250G SATA HDD, RAM 512 Kingston, floppy and a DVD player.
Anyway, after booting on a Windows XP Pro disk and installing the provided SATA drivers, XP happily copies the setup files etc to the HDD and reboots (as it is supposed to). Once the box reboots I get the XP running screen and then get the dreaded blue screen of death. Checking the HDD with another computer shows that the HDD and data appear fine.
Previous emails to this forum with similar problems seemed to indicate that the PSU was the problem. All the information I can find on power usage seems to be pretty vague, so after checking various web pages it appears that the Sempron uses roughly 62W which is very close to the Pentium4 1.6 (that I previously ran) at 61W. Also, the 144A (is that correct Amps x Voltage ?) available on 12V rail should be enough, so I am stumped at where the problem could be, or have I totally missed the point on PSUs ?. Any other clues where the problem could be ?

Try something with at least 24a on the 12v rail. A64's are notably power hungry. For that matter so are all the newer CPU's no matter what brand.

2) Transformation: Third party tools
3) Loadting: SAP provided techniques, in mycase I am using LSMW.
Q1 ) What are the third party tools we use typically for doing extarction and transformation ?

I would say that data cleansing could begin before the data is actually extracted from the source system, if needed. In some home-grown systems, you may have obselete data or plain corrupted records which you do not want to bring to the other system, obviously you can simply delete these records from the source DB. You could also do some data cleansing when converting the legacy data to SAP data.

SWAT admin tool for Samba usage not possible

Hello,
In a Console i have done su root after entering the password i did /sbin/swat start to start the Samba Web Administration Tool, when i try to access it in Safari or Firefox i get asked for username and password, here i use username root and roots password (which is definitely correct). But i always get "Login incorrect"
Do i have to use a different user/password than from the root account?

Well, i have edited smb.conf by hand as i need to share some extra directories where no password is needed, ie the user nobody should be used, this worked very well in 10.3.9 but notw it seems samba doesn´t check/use the smb.conf file anymore. And since i am used to SWAT it would be easier and faster for me to modify Samba Settings in OS X.

Hi! I'm trying to find a software tool for graphically visualizing the class structure of a system, like for example the PRAWN tool where the view presented to the developer mimics the appearance of a UML class diagram with a node and arc graph... but any other could be fine..

JUDE Community edition is a wonderful UML tool. Price is right, too.
It might not plug into NetBeans or Eclipse, but it does a wonderful job of round trip engineering, and it supports all the important diagrams.

I do not have any VPN enabled?

Do you happen to have an Android? If so and depending on what version there is a great data usage analyse tool built-in. See if you can go to Settings -> Data Usage from there you can pick a current or previous billing cycle and then use the vertical sliders to select a date range and it will filter the usage data per app to show you exactly what app(s) were using data during that time frame.

Yes it should be possible deppending on your version of ios on your ipad. In the app store you can go to "purchased" and download any apps you've previously purchased. I'm not sure if this will also work for books or not. Also, if you haved synced your ipad to your computer, itunes will have all your data (books, apps, music etc...) and you can load it all back up.

My area of interest is in business and economic history. There is a considerable amount of reading and charting. Until the iPad hit the streets, I only considered stacks of books, journals, and downloaded documents, all marked up with highlighters, underlines, and marginal notes.
Most of my PC based work involved MS Office, Endnote, and MS OneNote.
What I would like to do with the iPad and MacBook are the same things (Office, Endnote, OneNote) and add the ability to read and markup all forms of printed materials from books to pdf to webpages.
I cut my teeth on an iPod Touch and have tried a lot of the note taking and reading apps. Without a camera the standard iPod Notes works for short quick notes and long think pieces. I just emailed the content and downloaded the stuff to my PC. Obviously, I do not want to continue at this "non-integrated" level of work.
