Software Update Bug in BlackBerry Link

I am running BB Link v. 1.1.1.32.  For PC.
Several days ago, I updated the Z10's OS to v10.1.0.2039.  Despite that, BBLink insists that there is an update (10.1.0.2039) that needs to be installed to my phone.
This is obviously wrong, but the update message will not go away in BBLink.
One would think that BBLink would read the OS version from the Z10 before suggesting that there is an update and compare it to the version number that is the latest per the web .... and, in my case, realize that the update has already been done.
This is an obvious bug in BBLink.
Regards ...

I'm having the same issue. In addition, i cannot correctly connect Link to my Z10; when starting to transfer files (music, ...) to the device, the first message is "Synchronisation wired vorbereitet" (sync on hold), then (after about 5 mins), the status message "Verbindungsfehler" (connection fault) shows up, and nothing is transfered.

I just installed the new blackberry link software tonight, as now we can transfer 2 way to Outlook..... My contacts will transfer to 2007 Outlook, but it doesn't migrate my calendar settings to Outlook.
Also same problem I had before with the old version of Blackberry Link, where it tells me there is an update to my phone software to 10.1, but I already have 10.1 installed.. thought that would have been fixed in this version , but no, same issue

  • No audio/sound on Blackberry Torch 9810 since performing software update to 7.1.0 bundle 1149

    Hello,
Please can someone help me.  I recently performed a software update on my Blackberry Torch 9810 to version 7.1.0. (Bundle 1149).  The update was successful, however since performing the update all audio on my phone has stopped working, in that ringtones, alarms, message notifiers have ceased to work.  I can make calls and can hear people on the other end of the phone, my handset also still vibrates, it has just lost all audio output.
My phone's profile is set to 'normal' and I do not have the 'silent' or 'all alerts off' functions selected.  I also have not dropped or damaged my phone and it has not received any water damage.
I've tried restarting my handset on several occasions and have performed battery pulls/removing and replacing the battery and still no joy!
I have tried to downgrade my software to the previous version, however my handset does not allow a downgrade function.
Please, please can someone help, as I am at a total loss as to what to do?!?!?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Emma

Take a look at the following.....
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=KB19915&sliceId=2&cm...
After show other versions, you can downgrade if you see the earlier version.  Or, you may want to just reinstall the latest version.
It sounds like you did the update OTA on the BlackBerry handset.  That is generally a bad idea right now.  Certainly it will improve in the future, but nowadays many people have troubles.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please refer to this official download portal as you proceed. It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. After installing the OS package to your PC, please remeber to delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.

  • Update problems with blackberry curve 9360

I need help, I downloaded the latest software update for my blackberry curve 9360, during installation the freezes at 9%, I've looked everywhere for the answer to fix... I've tried safe mode but it doesn't let me select the 'OK' option, I downloaded the bb desktop software where it can find my phone but down the bottom right corner it just says connecting, would really appreciate the help

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

There are two methods of recovery for you to try:
    One:
Open Blackberry Desktop Software & Connect your device with PC using USB cable, without inserting battery.
You will get three option Retry, Update Or Cancel, then click on update.
Once it is to the stage of the update "initializing handheld", then insert battery.
If this does not work, and you remain stuck on the backing up the Social Feeds database, go to the second method below.
    Secondly:
Start your BlackBerry in Safe mode.  Article ID: KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Modehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow your handheld to connect. If you are prompted to upgrade, cancel the upgrade for later.
IF you cannot connect or your Desktop Software does not recognize your device while in Safe Mode, please follow the directions here to force the detect:  Article ID: KB10144 How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader
Go to Device > delete > SELECT DATA > select to delete both the Social Feeds and Smart Card databases, and follow the remaining prompts to complete it.
Now, you can return and click to upgrade the device through the Desktop Manager, or reboot the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue the over the air upgrade.

Problems Receiving Emails and some data on WIFI since latest software update.
My blackberry torch will not receive emails on wifi since the latest software update, I've tried numerous wifi networks and several handsets, even had them replaced and received a brand new. Still the same problem.

  • Vbscript to remotely enumerate software updates (SCCM 2007)

    Hi
Im trying to create a VBscript to initiate enumerate software updates.
The below link has a code to do this locally.
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc145902.aspx
Is it possible to get this done remotely via VBScript or even Powershell? Prefer Vbscript, as some of the servers I am targeting are Windows 2003.
What I am trying to achieve is, once we have deployed our monthly patches to the server and has been rebooted, I want to run a a script to confirm what has worked and not. The idea is for the script to remotely initiate a software scan cycle on a target
machine. Then the script will remotely initiate the enumerate software updates. If the result shows that nothing is required, then its good. However, if it lists some updates are to be installed, then this machine will be flagged as non compliant.
    Thanks,
    DM

    THanks for that.
I have gone through the vast amount of scripts. The useful ones seems to be all in powershell.
However, due to Windows 2003, I might have to stick with VBScript.
This script works ok, but for local machine. Im not too keen on using psexec to use this on remote machines.
Does anyone know how to rework this code, to make it work remotely?

  • Software Update just wiped my BB

Rather frustratingly, I have just ran the software update for my Blackberry Curve 8900, which has completely de-branded my phone, and wiped everything. Now all I have is a menu with a list of my applications and options (that it won't let me use) with "Blackberry Software 5.0.(something?).31" (or something similar to that) at the top. I've tried restoring my device with no luck. Any ideas of how I can reverse this?

  • RE: Phone Software Updates?

Is there anyway to find out exactly what is updated when an update is issued by Verizon.
All you  get on the phone when one is issued is a generic statement about it updated and made enhancements to the phone and software.

Definitely! You can view details of any recent software update online at VZW Support then enter SOFTWARE UPDATE in the search field and click the SEARCH button and you can browse all the software updates available for all devices.

    - When we click on Applications, a box comes up with a list of apps (checked and unchecked boxes), Check for Updates, Cancel and Start. buttons  If we click on Check for Updates we get "There are no updates available for your BlackBerry device".  If we click on Start we get a message which reads:
"BlackBerry® Desktop Software failed to validate your BlackBerry® device update.
Aborting install due to validation failure. Some packages contained unsatisfied dependencies"
We tried to "Reload BBM" which resulted in loss of contacts and lots of tears, so we "Restored".  Since doing this contacts have been restored BUT we now cannot connect to WiFi.
