Software Update for Epson: Appears Every time I turn on the printer

Since installing Mountain Lion, a dialog for downloading and installing software appears each and every time I turn on my Epson printer.
There is no update available, nor does clicking "Install" solve the issue. It simply replies "Software is currently unavailable"
This happens in each account on the machine.....

Try resetting the printing system abd check if that may help::

Once the printing system reset completes, click the plus sign and add the printer once again.
If that does not help I would also recommend you to try repairing the disk permissions anyway and then try  installing the DL1938 package again.

  • Apple Software Update for HP repeats every time despite having d/l already

I just bought an HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP.
Apple updater tells me everyday that I have the same HP.  I just turned off the update via the software updater program file menu(file-->turn off update for this product...or something like that).
Any idea why it was trying install the same software over and over?
Long term solution so that I can d/l HP updates via the Apple software updater program?

Bob didn't provide you very complete instructions. To carry out what he has requested:
Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility)
Select the internal HD on the left
    Click the First Aid tab
    Click Repair Disk Permissions
If this does not fix your problem then navigate to ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist and drag the file to the Desktop. Then log out and log in again and try running Software Update. A shortcut to the file is to copy it from this post, open a Finder Window - Go menu - select Go to Folder... and paste the path in.

  • How do I download IOS5 onto a first generation ipad? Software Update does not appear under General in Settings on the 1st generation.

How do I download IOS5 onto a first generation ipad?  Software Update does not appear under General in Settings on the first generation ipad.

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, if you have iOS 4 then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

  • 1.9: Graphics settings 16:9 / 4:3 prompt appears every time I turn on TV

It has been hard getting through on the phone this week, probably due to all of the old curmudgeons whining about the new guide.  So here goes...
Every time I turn on my STB and TV I now get the question on whether my TV is 16:9 or 4:3.  It only happens on the STB that I have routed through my AV receiver.  When I plug the STB directly into the TV it knows the TV is 16:9 and doesnt ask me.  Is there a way to make the STB remember this setting when I route the signal through an AV receiver?  It is annoying to have to answer the same question every time I turn on the TV.  If not, then please consider this a bug for a future update.  Thank you.
P.S. EVERYTHING else about the new update RULES!  (including the guide).

There is nothing in the STB that can be set to override this. There might be a setting that could be tweaked in the AV receiver though, but we would be no help locating it. I apologize there are incompatibly issues with your AV receiver. We try to make our products as compatible with most products. Yours just happens to be a problematic one. Instead of running both audio and video to your AV receiver, run just audio through a SPDIF cable to the receiver and Video through component to the TV.

  • Installing device driver every time I turn on the computer

Every time I turn on my computer or plug in my iPhone 3G, I get the little icon and popup for "Installing Device Driver" and after a couple of minutes it says it installed successfully and then starts installing itself all over again. It's irritating as heck. I'm on Windows Vista and iTunes version 9.1.1.12. I updated Windows and updated iTunes and neither helped. This just started happening within the last week. My computer only has one USB drive and it's the one I've always used. Please help!

It sounds as if you have more than one thing going on here. You say that when you turn on your computer you are getting an icon about installing device driver. Then you say it happens "or plug in my iPhone 3G". These should be two different issues.
Let's isolate the first one. When you turn the computer on, you are getting a device driver popup. This occurs every time you turn on the computer? Are you running it in an administrator mode? What kind of external devices do you have connected to the computer? What USB devices do you have connected, i.e. printer, external drives (not flash drives)?
After that, we can tackle the iPhone issue.

  • Audio output settings reset themselves on restart to internal speakers. I am getting tired of changing the output every time I turn on the Mac. This is a recent problem.

My sound preference does not retain its output setting on restart. It resets to internal speakers. I'm getting irritated having to change it every time I turn on the Mac. I'm running the latest system software (10.10.2) on an early 2008 Mac Pro with 4 cores and 6 GB of RAM. This was not a problem before Yosemite, and everything else seems to be running fine. Any help appreciated.

  • Security code requested every time I turn on the p...

My phone has worked perfectly until recently when it started requesting entry of the security code every time I turn on the phone. Any way to prevent this? It has never requested this before.

Check the security settings. Perhaps someone has turned on the request without your knowledge. If so, just turn it off again.
Where the setting is, exactly, depends on which phone model you have (and I don't see you mentioning which one you have). If you can't find the setting, look it up in the phone's User Guide. For Nokia phones, if you have lost your copy, you can read or download them from the Nokia Support pages.
If the setting is already off, then I don't know.

  • Every time I turn on the Internet (3G or wifi) theirs an apple notification asking me to type my apple id password.

Every time I turn on the Internet (3G or wifi) theirs an apple notification asking me to type my apple id password. And this hapenes frequently( every time I open an application that requires Internet like safari, app store, iTunes...)

    Try this out
Drag the folder Macintosh_HD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration to the trash and then restart the computer.
Once the computer boots up, Click the blue apple and then select System Preferences and then select Network.
From the Show pop-up menu, choose Network port Configuration' (it would default to Network Status), then drag Airport in the table below to the top position
After that, from the Show pop-up menu, choose AirPort.'. Locate the pop-up menu next to "By default, join:" and choose 'A specific network'. Select your network and then a password (if required) and then click on the 'Apply now' button.
If you are still not connnected to the internet select your network from the airport icon on the right side of the menu bar
Reboot the machine to test whether this procedure fixed the issue

  • HOW DO I STOP THE 3 UPDATE TABS FROM APPEARING EVERY TIME FIREFOX STARTS ???

I have gone into the updating section of Options & UN-ticked thgem but the still appear every time !
Using XP pro & FireFox 9.0.1

    Hi MadogM,
Are you saying you always see the tab telling you that you've updated? If that's the case, you should look at [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox this article about that specific issue] and the article [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved Preferences not saved]. These should give you all the information you need!
    If that doesn't work:
    # Type about:config in the address bar
    # Click ''I'll be careful, I promise'' if prompted
    # In the Filter input field type ''startup''
    # Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
    # Delete the text string and click ''OK''
    # Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Every time I turn on the computer Launchpad changes its organization

Ok, so my question speaks for itself. Every time I restart or turn off and the on the computer, the items fall out of place in Launchpad. I know it's no big deal, but I'd like that to stop. Is this just happening to me? What should I do?
    Thank you for your attention.

It's happening to me as well: on both a MacBook Air (preinstalled with Lion) and a MacBook Pro (with Lion updated over Snow Leopard).
Given that launchpad is, I presume, supposed to be making the apple desktop os behave more like the iphone os I find this re-shuffling annoying. As it currently stands, the shuffling of the icons in Launchpad means it is next to worthless as a subsitute for spotlight or for the finder or for the dock: I want to go to Launchpad and know the approximate position of the desired icon on the screen.
Hopefully it's something that will be addressed in an update sooner or later...

Remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.
You may need to delete active-update.xml and updates.xml as well if present.<br />
    XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\&lt;user&gt;\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates
    (%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)
If you have problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
You may need to remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.
    Do a clean (re-)install:
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
