Software Update in ICS 4.0 for neo

Hi,
I updated my neo to ICS 4.0 , Build Number is 4.1.A.0.562 . But looking at the Sony's Android 4.0 page. It shows the latest available software is 4.1.B.0.587.
When I connect the phone to Sony's PC Companion, it says that my software is up to date. Why is this happening? How can I update my software? Will I have to do it manually from the Sony's site?

This simply means that the network that your handset was made for has not yet passed approval on the update. Unfortunately this means you will have to wait until they have done so.

Trying to restore my iphone 5 throught iTunes and it says contacting the iphone software update on my mac book for the past 4 hours

I went to update to the new ios and my phone immediately went into recovery mode. I called apple and they said I had to restore my iphone 5. I did what they told me to do through iTunes on my macbook and now the box that says Contacting the IPhone software update server has been there for 4 hours with no progress.

It can not do that all by itself.
When you plugged it in, iTunes said 'Oh goody! You got a new phone! Would you like to make it just like your old phone?'...
You explicitly said 'Yes'.
You can't undo that.
No backup of the current state of the new phone was made. It was wiped and the last backup of your old phone was restored to it.
Anything you had on the new phone is gone.

You cannot update iPhone 4 to IOS 8.1.2, the highest you can update is IOS 7.1.2.
Unless you've iPhone 4S (looks similar to iPhone 4)

Software update issues - made more problems for me

My Q10 just downloaded a new Software release 10.1.0.4189
I was excited because I had hoped it would solve the issue of the ring tones NOT working for TEXT messages.
NOT ONLY did it not correct that...
1. BUT I lost all of my videos and pictures in the Media Hide APP...
2. It duplicated several contacts... not all but some... so that is weird... and honestly it seems to duplicate contacts that are listed by a Business Name.... those were the majority of duplicates.
3. The little pictures I assign to contacts and the logos for businesses... are messed up... at least the LOGOS for businesses are not self sizing so you can not tell what it is in the contact screen (none of these were issues yesterday)
4. When I try to delete the duplicates from the contacts... the trash icon jumps to the left when I touch it... and it will NOT let me delete the duplicates... so I am forced to do it thru my OUTLOOK on the computer
I just downloaded the software update 2 hours ago... so I have no idea what else may have gone WRONG with it...
I do not even know what this update was supposed to be fixing... because the text ring tones are all I am MOST upset about loosing and it looks like the wording on the contacts changed to say EMAIL ring tones... instead of text... and I do NOT have one single BBM contact.... so TEXT and BBM should share that feature... since EMAIL is now a stand alone contact ringtone... so many features center around BBM and I have no blackberry friends...

It just seems bizarre that the text/ringtone issue would not immediately be resolved. Text is the way more people communicate today over vocal calls...and..the feature existed in previous systems. How could it not exist in their newest product??
You had mentioned u downloaded the newest update with the hope the text issue was resolved. Why did you think it would be? Did they ..BB..say they had a fix?
Another issue..that perhaps someone could help me with on same issue is that when I text using the q10...the text space is two lines....and if that a text happens to run three lines ...i can no longer see what I am texting...until..it is sent. Thus makes no sense..as this too was not part of the previous sysems where you were ALWAYS on last letter typed. Anyone else that that issue and perhaps know the fix?

Hopefully, you use a passcode to unlock your lock screen. It is that passcode that is required to update IOS. See Settings > Passcode.

When I attempt to use software Update, and am then prompted for my Apple ID and password, my apple ID is not complete and it is 'grayed out' so I cannot change it.

When I attempt to use Software Update, then go to 'Update All', I am then prompted to enter the password for my Apple ID, however my Apple ID does not come up as complete, and it is 'grayed out' and I cannot change it, therefore it is impossible for me to update my software. How can I change the Apple ID to the correct ID?

You need to delete the application and then download it from the desired Apple ID.

I have a new software updates deployment. I see there are updates that are required on a few clients. The clients work fine with a software package/application, as they download fine with no problems, so it's not a boundary issue. But I can't get the software
updates to work. I keep seeing in updatedeployment.log total actionable updates = 0 even though right above that it is clearly finding new updates.

I did a site recovery to new hardware, and subsequently new WSUS version for Server 2012, and am having issues with deploying software updates. Like the OP above I can deploy applications and packages with no issues.
I've deleted the software update group, recreated and deployed to a collection with machines that do not have these updates installed, since they are this months newest updates.
In the UpdatesDeployment.log I see the following logged:

So it's like it sees the deployment but is not evaluating that it needs the updates. I'm at a loss of where to look next so if anyone can provide any additional suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Nokia software updater won't upgrade firmware for ...

I've seen that there's an updated firmware version for N95 8GB from v11.
I just bought the phone from Three in the UK. My phone has firmware version 11.0.026. When I use the Nokia Software Updater it says that this firmware version is the latest. I've also used this website to check for an update but when I put the code it says that I have the most recent version.
Does anyone know how can I update to the latest version?

The nokia software updater doesn't allow you to update because it's network branded. Most networks don't bother approving new updates leaving their customers stuck with old firmware.
Until three UK decide to update (which could be never) then you are stuck with what you have got. They still haven't allowed owners of the old N95 to update to v20 which was released 4 months ago.

No such thing as a "default" passcode.
Any passcodes being asked for on a iDevice you have to manually set. So if you don't know it you need to find someone who does.
The Passcode is probably your Apple ID password.

Software updates package at install pending for a secondary site

Hello all,
For the last 2 weeks I have been fighting ore secondary server that will not download a software updates package. It continues to say "install pending" I keep seeing the same message in the Distmgr.log on the secondary server. I
have checked the despoil.log, sender.log and replmgr.log and do not see anything that sticks out as being a error. I have other packages that can be sent to this distribution point without any problems so I know the permissions are ok.
I have removed the packaged and added it back a few times and waiting day between removing it and adding it back.
This all started when the drive ran low on space and this was the package that ran the drive out of space. My best clue is in the distmgr.log file I see it says package JFG0001ED requires a newer version (5) and the current version is 4. The
problem is the distmgr.log file on the primary server is trying to push version 8 and that is the current version going to the other distribution points. It appears that the secondary server is trying to get an different version than the primary
server is serving up.
I have also removed the distribution point role from the secondary server and added it back. I'm pretty sure recreating the package will fix the issue but since it is an update package it is almost 5GB that I would have to resend
to 40 other DPs.

I would remove the package from that distribution point. Once that is done, and it's not waiting for a new version, you can try sending again. Assuming you now have the space for it.

Will a software update be released that allows for apps, or should I just buy a Touch?

I have the 7th Gen Nano and it's awesome. But I got it as a gift, and I was wondering if there was any development on releasing a software update that would allow some apps. True that the screen isn't exactly optimized for gaming or reading, but there are some practical apps that would be useful on the Nano. I'm just curious.

You should buy an iPod touch. The iPod touch and nano are completely different architectures.
