Software-update network problem

software-update and App Store cannot connect, though my network and internet are fine.
Anyone a sollution?

Well, I solved the problem. In my case it had to do with a tool I have installed called Little Snitch (LS). I updated the version and the problem was solved.
Reason I did not think of it is that I am very spoiled with the facility in most software these days, of auto-software-update-reminders (don't know how else to call it). this version of LS did not have it ...
So you might want to check your additional software if it is up to scratch

good luck.
to me the problem is solved.
(I decided to stay with Lion, and not downgrade ... too much hassle)

• Software update - networking error (Mac OS 10.4.11)

Hi everyone,
I've been having problems running software update on my 867 MHz Powerbook G4. Every time I try to run software update, I get the same message: "A networking error has occurred: timed out (-1001). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again."
I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.11.
My network is running fine, and I've run Network Diagnostics several times fully through to confirm this.
I've tried repairing the disk permissions through disk utility a few times, and nothing's changed.
I tried copying three files from my Library / Preferences folder, along with my Caches folder (after reading that this could fix the problem), but still, software update doesn't work.
I tried running the 10.4.11 combo update for PPC, rebooted in safe mode, and repaired my disk permissions again, but still, no luck.
There's another problem that might be related: Safari can't load pages. Firefox 2.0.0.18 works fine, but Safari doesn't do anything. Also, closing the Safari window (Ctrl + W) doesn't work, quitting the program is the only way to make it go away.
Thanks in advance for the help, it's much appreciated!

Hi James, and a warm welcome to the forums!
To expand a bit on Sig's great advice...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
Also, how much free space do you have on your HDD?

• Using the software update created problems

Ok so I bought Leopard and upgraded from Tiger, then updated using the software update. Now I have a whole bunch of problems. My Apple Works is now missing, the program is just gone. All my Adobe programs now give me the error of Incompatible with current OS or some Your Licensing is not working error. I have a whole load of Adobe programs that should be working, like Contribute CS 3 and Photo Shop and Illustrator and Designer and so on. All of which worked under the 4.11 and the 5.1 OSes but now no longer work. This isn't even touching on the elimination of the Classic environment which i have a lot of programs that will cost way too much money to buy again for the new OS.
Anybody know how to get back Apple Works and how to get the Adobe products running again?

First set of problems, I had two software packaged programs go missing. Totally erased from the system. iWeb and Apple Works.
This would not happen after a software update, unless the directory got damaged somehow*:
http://www.macmaps.com/directoryfaq.html
That would give the machine a difficult time trying to find files on the computer.
Next set of problems my external firewire drive stopped being seen from the system.
This most commonly happens if a Firewire hard drive does not have the proper firmware to be used with the operating system in question. This is one reason most people recommend dismounting and disconnecting all third party devices before applying updates. This used to be a more common problem with 10.3, but not out of the realm of experience of people with 10.5.
The next most common cause is the clock battery dying, but not quite dead. Replacing it can fix that problem as well.
I should say that my system consists of several computers networked together.
I would have completely disconnected the computers before applying the update.
I can take my external firewire back up time machine drives and connect them to a PC and see the data. But my macs do not even recognise them, they don't even show up when plugged in.
This is further evidence the firmware on the hard drive was not yet updated for compatibility with the operating system.
Third set of problems, all the apple install disks became unreadable by my system.
This can be commonly caused by a dying optical drive, or bad permissions on the system, or a dying clock battery.
Fourth set of problems, all the Adobe programs became un-useable and returned errors. Adobe has been working with me on this and have been far more helpful than Apple has been.
That's a case of corrupt files, or files which were migrated from another system. Migration that is done improperly from a PowerPC to an Intel system may create issues with powerpc plugins on an Intel Mac. If your hard drive got over 85% full and/or the directory was damaged for any reason (especially forced reboots), that can also trigger such a reaction during an update.
Fifth set of problems just recently discovered, all my stored movies, music and podcast in iTunes is gone.
This is usually due to a directory issue, but can also be a dying hard drive issue.
Sounds like you have multiple symptoms pointing towards a few common possible causes. Directory damage, and clock battery malfunctioning, and needing a better firmware on your Firewire hard drive case. Replacing the hard drive case with a compatible one is simple enough. http://www.macsales.com/ makes the right cases. I would not go with LaCie, Western Digital, or Seagate cases. Western Digital and Seagate internal hard drives are fine in of themselves. Replace the MyBook hard drive cases with http://www.macsales.com/ cases and same with the LaCies.
I have Apple TV and EYE TV and a Midi interface box attached to my G5 mac. My G5 is the one that lost Apple Works and iWeb.
Remove the Midi interface box. It may help things work better.
My systems have the super drive on them and I have virtual PC and Softwindows installed.
Softwindows barely works if at all under Classic, and VirtualPC only works with version 7.0.2 under Leopard. If you got an earlier version working under Leopard you were lucky. You really needed to migrate to a supported emulator under Leopard listed on my FAQ*:
http://www.macmaps.com/macosxnative.html#WINTEL
It says you didn't research your options well enough before upgrading to Leopard. This has been well documented in the forums before this.
Booted up from the Norton disks and repaired disk.
This is the biggest flaw in your plans, which caused ALL your problems. Norton is not compatible with any version of Mac OS X. It eats directories for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Only Alsoft Disk Warrior is safe and only after a data recovery attempt with Prosoft Data Rescue II, Subrosasoft Filesalvage, or Boomerang's Boomerang. We have constantly harped on the forums here that Norton is damaging to data. This has been known about since Mac OS X came out. It has even been called "Norton Kevorkian" by some.
You can't blame Apple for this. Your lack of research and lack of asking in the right places at the right time led to your failures.

• Can't software update, networking error, yet internet connection fine

I am trying to use software update, but can't. I get this:
"A networking error has occured: timed out (-1001). Make sure you can connect to the internet, then try again. Software Update can't check for updates because of a network problem."
Yet network diagnostics show everything fine; mail works fine; network utility shows everything ok; wireless connection fine; TCP/IP looks normal; and browsers are fine -- here i am posting.
WTH?!
I know there are other threads about this, but the questions there are unanswered, even though the threads are marked answered.
I tried the following:
1. i backed up using Carbon Copy Cloner, then wiped my HD and copied back. That was ok, but still couldn't use software update.
2. i archived/installed 10.4, restarted.Some prefs gone but basically ok, couldn't use software update.
3. downloaded last combo update 10.4.7, and last security update. Quit everything, repaired perms, installed combo update, restarted. Installed security update, restarted.
4. i reset PRAM.
5. i checked the disk using Disk Utility. It's fine.
6. I made a new user account to test. Logged in there, tried software update, same result.
And i still can't use software update.
Someone in another thread wrote that this seems to be in UK and Netherlands. Possible?
Any suggestions anybody?

[home]/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
This last i am not sure of the exact name, i saw it before, deleted it, but it hasn't been regenerated.
there is also:
[home]/Library/Caches/Software Update/
which has nothing in it;
and
[home]/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate/
which has a lot of numbered folders and cache files with names like

Should i try deleting those?
How do i find out the server name for Software Update btw?
Perhaps i should try plugging that into the SoftwareUpdate.plist?

• Software Update: Networking Error (-3001)

I'm trying to update my old G5 Mac (OS 10.5.8) via Software Update. I have a list of around a dozen items to update. I've tried running them individually but I keep getting Networking Error (-3001). Can anybody offer a way to fix this?
It's an old Mac G5 Dual 2.7Ghz.

Some general advice on updating:
It is worth noting that it is an extreme rarity for updates to cause upsets to your system, as they have all been extensively beta-tested, but they may well reveal pre-existing ones, particularly those of which you may have been unaware. If you are actually aware of any glitches, make sure they are fixed before proceeding further.
So before you do anything else:
If you can, make a full backup first to an external hard disk. Ideally you should always have a bootable clone of your system that enables you to revert to the previous pre-update state.
Turn off sleep mode for both screen and hard disk.
Disconnect all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
1. Repair Permissions (in Disk Utility)
2. Verify the state of your hard disk using Disk Utility. If any faults are reported, restart from your install disk (holding down the C key), go to Disk Utility, and repair your startup disk. Restart again to get back to your startup disk.
At least you can now be reasonably certain that your system does not contain any obvious faults that might cause an update/upgrade to fail.
3. Download the correct version of the COMBO update from the Apple download site.
The Combo updater of Leopard 10.5.8 can be found here:
http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update
If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.
Full details about the 10.5.8 update here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3606
More information on using Software Updater here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24901?viewlocale=en_US
Using the Combo updater ensures that all system files changed since the original 10.5.0 are included, and any that may have been missed out or subsequently damaged will be repaired. The Delta updater, although a temptingly smaller download, only takes you from the previous version to the new one, i.e. for example from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8. Software Update will generally download the Delta updater only. The preferable Combo updater needs to be downloaded from Apple's download site.
Now proceed as follows:
4. Close all applications and turn off energy saving and screensaver.
5. Unplug all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
6. Install the update/upgrade. Do not under any circumstances interrupt this procedure. Do not do anything else on your computer while it is installing. Be patient.
7. When it ask for a restart to complete the installation, click restart. This can take longer than normal, there are probably thousands of files to overwrite and place in the correct location. Do nothing while this is going on.
8. Once your Mac is awake, repair permissions again, and you should be good to go!
If your Mac seems slightly sluggish or ‘different’, perform a second restart. It can’t hurt and is sometimes efficacious! In fact a second restart can be recommended.
9. Open a few of your most used applications and check that all is OK. In this connection please remember that not all manufacturers of third party applications and plug-ins, add-ons, haxies etc, will have had time to do any necessary rewrites to their software to make them compliant with the latest version of your operating system. Give them a week or two while you regularly check their websites for updates.
N.B. Do not attempt to install two different updates at the same time as each may have different routines and requirements. Follow the above recommendations for each update in turn.
Lastly, Apple's own article on the subject of Software Update may also be useful reading:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106695
If you are updating Safari (or just have):
Input Managers from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up.  If you have installed an OS update and Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level /Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari.
Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party add-on.
Additional tips on software installation here:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106692
To reiterate, Input Managers reach right into an application and alter its code. This puts the behavior of the affected application outside the control and responsibility of its developers: a recipe for  problems. That's not to say that issues absolutely will ensue as a result of Input Managers, but you, as a user, must decide. If the functionality of a specific Input Manager or set thereof is really important to you, you may well choose to assume the associated risk.
Again, the advice is to remove all Input Managers from the following directories:
/Library/InputManagers
~/Library/InputManagers
especially prior to system updates (they can always be added back one-by-one later).

• Software Update Wizard Problem

I'm trying to update the software on my N80 but the wizard keeps failing to work. I keep getting this message:
The wizard was interrupted before Nokia Software Updater could be completely installed.
Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.
I have tried several times but I get the same message each time. Any help to solve this is much appreciated.

I think your installation file is corrupted. Please download again and try. This time when you download, select N73 and click next and download the app. Although you have N80, do this. Cuz I've heard some people say, that N80 link is corrupted. The N73 will download the same thing. So its compatible with any N series phone.

• Software update install problem

Hello, I read about the EFI update problems and did my research on other updates as well, however I didn't find answer to my problem. After Software update checked for new updates (and there was about ten of them, because I did't do any updates for the past moth), I downloaded them and when I chose instal, the program quit uexpectedly. I tried this several times, but got the same message every time. i would be very glad if you could help me ay way. Thaks in advance.

Anyone got any ideas?

• Software Update permissions problem

Ok, I'm trying to do the latest software update, but it's telling me:
The update... could not be verified and expanded correctly.
Make sure you have permission to write to /tmp/501/TemporaryItems/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate, then try again.
I've done all the things listed on this page:
http://www.macosx.com/content/faq.php/q12571/Permissions-Error.html
with the exception of booting from the install disk and repairing the disk.
Here's what the console says:
2006-03-06 20:39:17.930 Software Update[416] Error verifying file with signature /tmp/SoftwareUpdate.dS17xs/signature
2006-03-06 20:39:17.934 Software Update[416] session:itemDidFail:SecUpd2006-001Pan-1.0 (Make sure you have permission to write to /tmp/501/TemporaryItems/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate, then try again.)
Any ideas short of repairing the disk with the install cd? I have them packed away and I'd have to dig them out, that's why I haven't already.
Could it be a corrupted download of the update?
Powerbook 1Ghz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

The message "Error verifying file with signature" implies (to the best of my knowledge) that the download is corrupted. However, I am not totally convinced that that is really the problem. This message has shown up at different times for other users and it has never been very clear what the problem is. (There might be multiple problems which can give this message.) Anyway, repairing your disk would be a good thing to try. Another possibility would be to go directly to Apple's software download site and get the Security Update. See if that installs. If not, can you get the download on another computer, preferably with a different internet connection? If so, copy the .dmg file onto a flash drive or a disk and then transfer to the computer with the problem. See if you can install that .dmg file.
If none of these works, post back - there are more things to try.

• E63 Software Update (UK) problem

Hello
I received my E63 last Wednesday, it set up very easily including connecting to my home wi-fi.
I was unable to connect to the internet via Orange (PAYG) after calling them & visiting one of their shops I went to my local Nokia repairer (Fonebox, Birkenhead).  They were extremely helpful & after not being able to manually set up the connection they advised I needed a software update.
I left the phone & collected it later, however, the keyboard had corrupted & it was no longer using UK characters (eg a full stop was an 'a' with an accent).  They reloaded the software, carried several other procedures & made calls. In the end the only way forward was to wipe the whole software & reinstall the official Nokia software. This was done & the problem persisted!!!
So after having the phone for just 3 days my phone has been returned to Nokia, mechanically my phone is apparently fine but their software appears to have a problem. Beware any other UK users if internet access via your operator is important to you then think carefully before accepting a software update.

Bad luck with your E63
It sounds to me like your repairers simply did not have the correct software for your phone, and applied a different region's software by mistake.  Perhaps something else went wrong; maybe the product code or some other identifier became corrupted, or the phone's firmware area was damaged, but it sounds very much as if they did not have the official Nokia software in the first place.
As an aside, if you bought your E63 new from Nokia then I doubt it would require a software update to connect to the internet via GPRS -- the earliest UK E63 software I'm aware of works fine with the Orange and T-Mobile PAYG SIMs I tried, the phone automatically establishing the connection settings for both.  You seem to have been let down by both Orange and Fonebox on this occasion (but then Orange don't carry the E63 so I suspect their support will have been a little wary of it!)
Best of luck with the replacement.  In future, you might want to try Nokia's own system for installing service settings, using the 'Settings Wizard... Operator' menu (in the 'Help' or 'Tools' folder, I forget).  There's also a service on the Nokia website where you can enter your operator and phone number, and receive service settings by SMS (but I can't find its URL, sorry).
If your SIM doesn't support these things, you should probably try asking Orange for an upgrade to your "profile", or a new SIM: I had to do both of these things at different points some years ago, to allow me to use GPRS and various other services. They're a bit reluctant to hand out replacement SIMs, but I've always been able to persuade them it's in their interest to allow me to spend money on their new services!

• Nokia C7 (059D0B0) software update package problem...

Hi,
I was helping my aunt to update her C7 (RM-675) model. I tried to help her by installing the PR1.2 update first through SW Update as it showed up there. I managed to download the file with size of almost 7000kb through Wi-Fi on the phone.
When the phone requested for a restart, the screen went white and a word "Updating" showed up. However, within ten seconds, there's a message showing "Restarting the phone" on the white screen.
Phone booted into the homescreen and a message popped out saying "Phone not updated. The software package is not compatible with your phone. Please check with your local service provider".
That didn't make me give up. I went to try again using USB connection to Nokia OVI Suite. The system checked there's an update of PR1.2 and I chose to update it. At first, the system requested for a phone backup and so I waited for it to finish backing up the phone. Later, I downloaded the PR1.2 software update with the file size of 175mb. When finished downloading, there's an error message showing up "Something went wrong". The system suggested me to restart the Nokia OVI Suite and then after several attempts, I couldn't detect the updates anymore. The result returned with "No updates available".
I went to try my luck on *#0000# and check for updates. I could detect v22.014 update was available for download with the file size of 25000kb+. Again, I finished downloaded it and phone requested for a restart and it took me to the white screen and the same word "Updating" appeared on the screen again. I thought this time finally I could update to Symbian Anna. Within ten seconds, the phone got rebooted and went to the homescreen again showing up with the same message of  "Phone not updated. The software package is not compatible with your phone. Please check with your local service provider".
The phone product code was 059D0B0. She bought this phone in Malaysia from a local dealer.
I checked the product code variant and this variant is from Spain, I wondered? The latest update for this variant is only 014.002 which I checked on the Nokia official website and still I could detect Symbian Anna update on OTA on the phone. Can the person in charge please check what is wrong with the situation that I'm having? BTW, we're from Malaysia.
Thank you very much.
Bernard

I also had problems with the upgrade to Symbian Anna.
My carkit didn't work, telephone went off and on frequently, etc.
Nokia helpcenter told me that my carkit should be upgraded with
new firmware and that had to try to reinstall Symbian Anna.
I tried to reinstall Symbian Anna a few times but nothing worked.
Now I solved the problem!!!!!
- Make a backup of your files, pics, video's, etc.
- Put your phone back in the factory settings
- sofware update via Wifi or LAN
- Installs Symbian Anna 1/2 en 2/2
EVERYTHING WORKS FINE NOW!!!!  also my carkit......
applause for Nokia helpcenter.............NOT!!!!
It will only take about 10 minutes to configure your telephone
and maybe some stuff from your backup.
Tip: put as much as you can on the extra memory card,
I think most you have it in your phone.

• Software update group problem on Primary SUP

Hi All
I hope someone can help me with the following issue it is related to SUP
We have an environment of a CAS and a Primary Site ( I know not an ideal situation ;-))
We have the SCCM 2012 Sp1 version with no CU update.
We have two separate SUPS installed at separate servers one connected to the CAS site and one connected to the Primary site.
The one connected to the CAS site connects to the internet and the one connected to primary sync’s with the other one.
Everything works perfect but after the implementation of the new updates from the month April we have some problems.
When I connect to the CAS site with the configuration manager console every update in the software update group have a green icon ( some are superseded and have an orange icon) and the updates all have the status of downloaded Yes and deployed Yes.
When I connect to our primary site with the configuration manager console some updates in the same update group (as mentioned above) have a red icon and have the status of deployed yes and downloaded NO.
Strange !!!
I created a new update group and new package downloaded all updates again and the same thing happens as above.
The updates KB2837579 , KB2553444 , KB973688 , KB2687567 are correct when I connect to the CAS but when I connect to the Primary they have status downloaded NO. Al other updates 150 are correct on both sites.
There is no problem with the Sync between the SUPs when I check Software Update Point Sync status and wsyncmgr.log.
I am lost in this one I hope someone can help me with this .or can help me where to troubleshoot
regards
Johan

Yes, even I've seen these kind of issues several times even after CM12 R2 upgrade. I had these issues normally (ONLY) with Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 server patches. It seems to me like when you DON'T have Win XP and Windows Server 2003 machines
in Primary server DB then we're facing this issue. But I'm not very sure. This is just a thought.
Primary server CM12 console - When you look at software update group or Package then in the “summary” there would one or more  patches show as “not downloaded”
But when you take a look at the properties of the patch and look at  “Content information”, it says downloaded = yes

(This is my first visit in the forum so please bear with me if I make mistakes... I also may need to mention that I am an experienced Apple user but neither a tech geek nor an expert)
Yesterday, working on my MacBook I got a software update and I clicked yes, update please (10.5.8). After the update was completed I didn't have internet access any more. The computer didn't find the Airport Extreme station any more. I checked all settings, they were fine. I restarted the computer, restarted the airport station, eventually I reset and reconfigured the airport station, to no avail. I took the airport station to the Apple store, they checked it and said it is ok, it might be a problem with my computer. I brought the computer to the Apple store, they checked it and said it's ok. Then one of the guys suggested a firmware update for the airport station. They did that and told me everything is fine now.
Back home I connected everything, it looked (and looks) fine, the airport station was found, the green status light is on, but when I start Safari I cannot open one single site, I also cannot receive any mail. I checked with my internet provider, both the line and the DSL modem are ok. If I connect my computer by cable to the modem I can get internet access and mail by PPPoE. I cannot get a connection via airport. This is not only true for my MacBook but for any other machine I tried including the iPod touch.
I checked all settings, in my opinion they are ok. I had a very experienced friend here yesterday night who checked things and didn't find a way out either.
PLEASE: Has any of you guys any idea? Your help is appreciated.

Hi,
I just wanted to add that I got the same issue. Shutting down completely and then rebooting after a little while seemed to resolve the issue, but it comes back again after a little while.
Just to add a few more details about the problem: It seems the connection to the wireless router is done properly, and I get an reasonable looking IP address. However no connection to the outside world. Furthermore, when I try to ping my router, the packets take few hundred ms (it should be a few ms at most), and 90% of the packages are lost.
This is the second update in a row which breaks something. 10.5.7 broken the bluetooth PAN, and 10.5.8 breaks the airport. Nice!!!

• Software update connection problem

Hi, I'm trying to run a software update and I keep getting a cant find update server problem. There is no problems with my internet connection which is working fine.
Another problem that may be related is that iTunes cant connect to the music store.
Can anyone suggest something for me to try,
Thanks
Gambit

can anyone help please - I have the same problem using airport express or directly connecting to the net via adsl. The Software Ppdate program is the only one that gives me internet connection problem messages, and when i go through the diagnostics it always shows the server unconnected, then connects and then i still cant connect to the net with software update!
very frustrating ... any solutions greatly appreciated!

• Nokia Software Updater Instalation Problems

today i downloaded the Nokia Software Updater onto my laptop. After installation i clicked to open the programme and the following error message appeared:
Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library
Debug Assertion Failed!
Program: C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Software Updater\nsu_ui_client.exe
File: c:\program files\microsoft visual studio 8\vc\include\list
Line: 776
Expression: list erase iterator outside range
For information on how your program can cause an assertion
failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts.
(Press Retry to debug the application)
Abort Retry Ignore
I have tried the 3 options that it lists, abort, retry and ignore but none of them will fix the problem.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this. For info my phone is the N70.
Many thanks in advance

Still not resolved this problem yet, can anyone help? I'm using internet explorer but keep getting the debug message when i try and load the software updater.
Consider yourself lucky(?) you got a specific errormessage you can use when contacting NOKIA-"care", they should be able to help you with such a specific description of the error.
(Then again we are talking about NOKIA-"care" here, so you might get NO help at all...)
