Software update nokia 6300

I am facing problem in updating phone software. The error message is "unable to connect.no software download". I am using nokia 6300.thank you.

Are You sure any update is available for your phone? It is a very old model and I doubt it is supported now!

I tried o update my nokia 6300 device, I downloaded the program from the net! It was ok, untill i tryed to update my phone! Apperars a screen, which says:Updating software, pls w8:
and then don't panic.Everything happes ok,my screen blanked. But the Estimated time remained 15 min. I dont touch nothing, but 20 minutes later it says taht it cant find my phone, i have to try to reconnect it, pick out my battery an so... bla bla
I tried everything but it couldn't find 2nd time my device, and my device isn't turning on! Please help, what can I do??
NEED HELP URGENT, I don't wanna pay for repairt it, as this device ins't mine ((((((

Look in the "Pool of Knowledge" board. The second topic there is "Recovering from a failed update".
If that doesn't work then you'll have to take the phone into a Nokia Care Point for repairs. The good news is, if the phone is under warranty, that the fix and the update will be free of charge.

USB Connection and updating software on Nokia 6300

Can anyone help me, im trying to update my 6300 software, via a USB cable, BUT THE UPDATING SOFTWARE will not find my phone when its connected. when i connect the cable i set the phone connectivity mode into NOKIA MODE, but the updating software will still not find my phone.........PLEASE HELP

Are you using the stand alone Nokia updater program or from the PCSuites? Are you able to install the PCsuites that come with your phone or the latest version which support almost all the newer model, & able to connect & recognized your phone?

I had updated my 5800 Xpress Music ver. 52.0.007. My problem is my mobile chinese langauge set disappear. May I know how to install my chinese language back into my mobile?

Welcome to the forum!
Unfortunately you will need to visit Nokia Care Point for "language pack" to be installed; this appears to have been done previously with earlier firmware on your 5800XM, but unfortunately software update servers deliver firmware appropriate to the seven digit product code on label below battery which appears to be from a different region. Bear in mind on a pre-owned device that actual product code recorded electronically might not tally with the one on label.

Software update NOKIA N95 8Gb

Trying to update my NOKIA N95 8G with Nokia OVI suite because Nokia PC suite doesn;t offer software update anymore. Getting the well known error : 12017 . I looked up forums and saw all kind of solutions , turning off Internet Connection Sharing ( ICS ) i checked on my XP sp3 in Computer Management > Services ... no ICS there. ok! I tried another solution , installed Beta Nokia Updater... but that software founds no UPDATE! OK! my last wish is to RESOFT at least my phone... is that possible ? I dont need a update ... only re-soft!
Please , anyone can try helping me ?

having the exact same problem with my e71. running Vista Sp2. updated to new PC Suite/NSU, it recognizes my phone but then fails once it tries to update firmware to 300.21.012.
i've seen a variety of solutions online and none have worked. among them:
restarting computer
restarting phone
selecting "general" profile (or "normal" on e71)
turn off Internet Connection Sharing
run NSU in Compatibility Mode
turn off Aero Glass
make IE default browser
disable antivirus software
disable firewall
disable Offline Mode in IE
quit all other running apps
shut down all Nokia apps, plug in phone, THEN start NSU
that's all i can remember. anyway, none of it has worked. also saw a post that maybe Nokia's servers are just down.
any thoughts?

Software update Nokia 5800

On my Nokia 5800 if I go to software update in the menu it connects to the internet and gives me a list of what needs updating, a very good feature (if it worked OK) so I got this list which says Here & Now 2.0 and mail for Exchange, Nokia messaging 10.2, ovi contacts 1.50 and scribble. Now up the top of that list it says phone software and then underneath that it says Important, all the others are optional, now this important one set alarm bells ringing so I ticked it and see that it has to be updated by PC (seems you cannot update it OTA) so I went to the site on my PC (www.nokia.com/softwareupdate) and it said the latest firmware was 50.0.005 so I checked on my phone using *#0000# and my phone told me I had 50.0.005 firmware already on it, and when I check options it says no updates available! - so what am I to believe the software updates in the phones menu or check for updates on the *#0000# screen? - Does anyone know whats going on?, is it a bug? Thanks.

that's applications updates. when you dial *#0000# it says phone's firmware. so v50 is the latest firmware for 5800xm. you can update your application using SW update.
go to - menu>applications>sw update then it will automatically searches for updates select updates that you want to update then select Start Update from options menu.
you can update these applications through OVI suit too. connet your phone via USB. then select update tab.

Updating Nokia 6300 to 5.50 but no changes!?

I Updated my N 6300 today from ver 5.0 to 5.5. I downloaded nokia updater 2 days ago and new nokia PCsuite 5.86.
I completed the update today and checked ver on phone.Now it is

Everything is ok but i cant see changes. I updated phone juts becouse new "Grid menu" instead old "SCROL menu"
I can't found it nowhere! not even in diplay properties
Mybe im missing something on how to activate grid menu?
Im having feeling that my new phone is an old phone
( i bought it 10 days ago)
What could go wrong or I am blind and cant se how to activate new menu style?

That grid menu you are talking about should have been there on your old software version too.
At the main screen press the menu button, it takes you to the menu.
Press options anywhere in that menu and select grid view or list view...
Does that work?

Software update Nokia E5 Version 071.003

If i look on the nokia website the latest software for my Nokie E5, It show that the lastest software version is 101.003.
If i connect my phone to the PC Suite it says "no update availeble.
What seems to be the problem here?

your network operator has the firmware offered to them by Nokia and they decide whether to let their own teams work on this firmware and add their own custom branding, wallpapers, other **bleep** etc, and release it to the customer. this is in stark contrast to generic variants, which almost always have the latest updates released for their particular product code.
in this case you will need to contact your network carrier, and also your local Nokia Care to see if there are any options: http://nokia.com/support You may be able to get written permission from your network carrier to remove their branding, and get the generic firmware installed on your device at a Nokia Care point.

HI i have nokia lumia250 few days ago i have purchaesd it yester i saw amber update when i download it after download is complete new bar open and saying preparing installation at after 12% percent directly goes to 95 to 99 and then 100 and then showing error something like update is downloaded but installation file could'nt opened

I dont know if anyone noticed this, but ppl get this error whenever the Amber update is released for different regions/devices and after a couple of hours/days ppl say that they could install the update successfully.
I did 2 and a half soft resets, changed phone language to klingon, installed temple run and then could install amber update,
I did a hard format and fixed the error,
I took out the sim card and could install the update,
I changed the phone language and voila!
A specific error shouldn't have too many solutions. The only common thing between these solutions is, people can install the update after trying many times (or when the server load decreases)

Problem in software update Nokia 701

I have updated my 701's software as new update released on 30 march 2012, after updating all apps are running fine except google maps. I have reinstalled gmaps and restarted device several times. Prblem is still. Could I go back to previous software?

Update Nokia 6300 and Linux

Hi...
I have Ubuntu 8.10 64bit and i want update SW on my nokia. The problem is i can't because for Linux dosen't exist program which can update my nokia. I feel a little underprivileged. So i want know if i have any chance to update my phone???

As an alternative you can get your phone updated at a nokia care point. It's free if your phone is still under warranty but wont cost much if it isn't. Many will do it while you wait.

Unable to update software in Nokia Ovi Suite & Nok...

Hello,
I am using Nokia 5233(same as 5230) mobile phone from past several months. I reside in India. My phone's current Software version is 40.1.003 From phone I checked for new software update & got to know that latest version is 50.1.001 This update is not available as OTA(Over the air) update directly from the phone. So, I decided to update it via PC.
But, both the Nokia Software Updater & Nokia OVI Suite application shows error when I check for new update. I am attaching the screenshots of the errors with my post. Please, help me out on this issue soon.

Have this softwares worked as they are supposed to before? It might be a temporary issue going on atm. It seems like there are plenty having issues with update services atm.
