Software Update Won't Download 10.5 Updates

Our software update server (running 10.5) will not download any of the newest 10.5 software updates--all we get is small exclamation points in front of any of the 4 latest updates that have anything to do with 10.5. All of the other updates are fine, just nothing that relates to 10.5. We have restarted, tried to reload the updates, etc., and it just will not get these 4 updates. Internet access is working fine on the machine, and nothing has changed on the machine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi
The exclamation mark means that your Update Server knows the updates are available and is in the process of downloading them. The best advice I can give you regarding the SUS in 10.5 is to have plenty of patience. The log itself should give you some indication of what is happening?

I just verified my Apple user ID and password but certain updates won't download (gives me the signal that I'm incorrect).  I keep changing it, verifying but not all applications let me proceed.  So I can't download itunes software updates or update my iphone even though I have just verified my info.  I know others that have this problem but can't get support to resolve it.

  • Latest PS6 update won't download

Latest (13.0.2) PS update, for Creative Cloud only, will not completely download, much less install.  All other Cloud programs (e.g., Illustrator) download and update without a problem.  I've been on the phone or chat with Adobe techs for at least 15 hours, without any improvement or change in the situation.  I have an open case on this issue but do not get any contact from Adobe unless I initiate it--which is a major time suck, of course.
Am running Windows 7.  Have tried download wired and wireless.  Have de- and re-installed PS at least 4-5 times.  This installs original version 13.0.  I had been running version 13.0.1 and can update to it, but that no longer runs properly.  Have removed ALL Adobe software and files and re-installed.  Have updated video driver.   Have "updated" App Mgr several additional times.
Can't think what else to try, and am not looking forward to another fruitless 4-hour phone call to Adobe help.
I'd obviously appreciate any ideas.  Thanks.
    Gail

Sorry to be so short--was in car with only phone.  Thanks for the thought.
I spent hours and hours with a senior tech at Adobe.  He cleaned out
everything once, and worked only on PS several times.  He did several of
the downloads at his end.  No one seems to know what the problem is, and it
is a problem only for Photoshop/Cloud update.  The program itself seems ok,
but the first update doesn't work right (e.g., can't open original of
photos from LR4.3 into PS or copies with LR adjustments).  The second, most
recent, update won't download past 99%.  "Tis a mystery.

  • IPad won't download apps or update them

If I bring my iPad to the store where I got it would they be able to answer my question or can you .my iPad won't download apps or update them from the AppStore  when I download an app it just says waiting under it but never downloads the same happens when I update them a and my wifi bars are always high ?I do hope you can help!

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

  • Itunes & software update won't download

I opened iTunes today and it said there is an update so I clicked Download.
When the App store opens, a couple old apps like Final Cut are still up there that also don't work as well as a new Software Update.
I hit Install All and nothing happened apart from an error message about Final Cut.
I restarted twice and still it's happening, although iTunes and Software updates won't show up.

Did you try simply downloading the latest version of iTunes using the link below and then installing it on top of the older version?

  • App updates won't download...error purchasing app message on 8.1.3

hello, since 3-4 days I notice that app updates aren't downloading on my iPad air 2. I have iOS 8.1.3. When i do "update all",  nothing happens...I have tried resetting to default functions, without any resolution..appreciate any help I can get with this issue. Thanks, BVPai

    Hi, Bvpai.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are unable your Apps via the App Store on your iPad.  Here is the troubleshooting article that I would go through when experiencing this issue.
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update(iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clickingCheck for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guidefor your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.

  • Don't use the Software Update in Preferences - download the Combo Updater !

Software Update failed and I had to archive/install back to 10.5 - just download the Combo Updater and you should be ok.

To close this thread - the Combo update worked perfectly and my machine is exactly how it was before starting the update process - except for about 12 gig, which I assume the archive/install ate up.

  • Updates won't download

I have iTunes 8.1.1.10 installed, and when I try to update it, the download starts then stops after 12.1 of 14.7mb downloads. The first 12.1 goes in a minute or so, but it never finishes.
I get the same behavior when trying to update Safari.
I'm running Vista Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron laptop. Disabling Defender and McAfee doesn't seem to help.
What could be the problem? It's been a long time since I've been able to update any Apple products - perhaps it never worked.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi RB
I already did what you suggest (a direct download), of a former version of iTunes (8.something) and it installed correctly, but did not solve the problem of the downloader hangs. Every time a new download is made available, the downloader stops to dl and hangs.
Interesting. I wonder if you've got a damaged version of Apple Software Update on your PC.
Do you have a known-good copy of the latest iTunes installer (downloaded from the website) on your PC? If so, try heading into your Add or Remove programs control panel and uninstalling both iTunes and Apple Software Update. Then use your downloaded installer to reinstall iTunes. That should also reinstall a copy of Apple Software Update.
Does the fresh copy of Apple Software Update also hang when trying to install updates?

  • I changed my apple id on my ipad, but updates won't download

I changed the Apple ID on my Ipad(8.1.3)  to make it the same as my iMac Apple ID.  Now, although it shows the app updates, it won't download them  When I tap on update, the little gearish wheels spins for ages, but nothing down loads.

Thanks.  I think.  So there is no way to have all 3 of my devices, which were purchased a different times, share an Apple ID.  What a drag!

  • Software update requested while downloading the Lion update

Right now I'm downloading the Lion update to my MacBook [w/ snow lep] - suddenly the software update check started and then says there are new updates available to download that will require a restart. Because I'm still downloading Lion from the app store I canceled these. Sound right? Or are these updates required parts of the Lion upgrade process that I should go forward with even though they will require a reboot - probably before the Lion download from the app store is finished?  [I'm in Shanghai right now and the download is taking hours].  A bit confusing. Oh yes, I have previously upgraded Snow Leopard to the latest version ready for the Lion update.

They will be iTunes and other updated Apps for Lion.
You can ignore them and run them once you have Lion up and sorted.

  • Updater won't Download

Quick question. I am trying to download the latest updater but the site won't late me. When I get to the http://www.apple.com/confirm/ipod/all.html site the po-up to download the actual updater doesn't appear. I've disabled all pop-up blockers and still no luck. What can I do?

    hi sweetsugar!
sometimes the challenge with these is to find all the pop-up blockers.
i've seen reports of 3B adblocker Pro causing this (that apparently came with with a copy of Windows Registry Repair Pro:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2253653&#2253653
alternatively, we could try using a different browser. don't use the IE 7 beta. i've seen people get this with SBC Yahoo too. so if you've got a different browser, try using that.
    keep us posted.
    love, b

  • Downloads such as adobe flash update won't download even when anti virus is disabled. The download box appears and runs but doesn't show anything.

Any updates or downloads won't download in Firefox. The download box appears, goes thru the motions but doesn't park anything in the file. I usually have to quite Mozilla, use Explorer for the download, such as Go to Meeting, or Adobe updates. Can't download anything with Firefox from your browser.

I am having the same issue -- IE7, XP SP3... Flash Player
will not download or install, but will download and install for
Netscape. Must be an IE7 issue, but I can't find a solution. If you
find something out, it would be freat!

  • HP Laptop brand new 99 windows 8 updates won't download

I am helping a lady I work with with her HP Laptop.  She forgot her password so I have her laptop and I restored the system. Windows 8 has 99 updates that will not download.  At least I do not think they are downloading, the bar just moves for 5 minutes but it shows 0 KB total and 0 complete for 5 minutes or longer.  So I quit and give up.   I have no idea why none of the updates are not downloading. I even disabled the firewall thinking that might help.

Hi, That is very normal. My suggestion: split 99 to 3 or 4 batches and try do not combine all big updates together. This may take one hour or two but next month this will be much quicker. Regards.
