Software updater switches off

how do i update my phone with software updater while connected to the net with my phone as modem, i'm using n70, wen i run software updater it connects to the net properly than after a few seconds it just disappears, i cant even find it on the task manager

i have same problem with that after update NSU v1.3.71..
It not appear when splash screen finish when im run application when setup finish
anyway dude u must end process using task manager
- nsl_host_process.exe
- nsu_ui_client.exe
then run application, after moment this prob will ok
and dude, new updater now release

Hello guy,
i have activated this good fonction of "software Updates" but have not taking into account the space that will consumed, so i have passed it to "manual" to be able to "Remove" all the 70Gb Updates.
some Updates are on "waiting" status and all that are "removed" on "Available" but my consumed disk space haven't return
so from this point how i can managed to get back this disk space ?
i use Mac Os X 10.9.4 with server 3.1.2

Software Update Service used to store downloaded files in /var/db/swupd/ it now stores them in /Library/Server/Software Update/Data/
It maybe the simplest option is to turn the service off in Server.app, delete all the files in the directory listed above, relaunch and restart the SUS service and let it download just the desired updates again.

HT201442 my phone was in the middle of updating its software and then suddenly switched off and ive tried to reset it but the itunes symbol appears, I've tried to connect it to itunes but it says it needs to be restored as it is on repair mode.

My Iphone4S was in the middle of updating its latest software then suddenly it switched off, it hasnt turned on since and I've tried to reset it but only the apple sign appears then the plug into ittnes symbol. Connect the iPhone to the compter you usually sync with
and use iTunes on that computer to do the restore.

Phone switched off in Software update

Hi,
This is the first time I installed Nokia suite. It gave me massage that new software is available. I tried to install new software. During this process it tried to restart my phone. But my phone switched off and did not restarted again. After that my phone is not at all starting. I removed battery and re-inserted and tried many times. But still my phone not starting. I tried to charge battery(though it was already fully charged). But it is not even charging battery(or showing it is charging). Kindly suggest how can I restart my phone ?

Hi, I updated my nokia c7 symbian belle via air.( i remember there were 3 items- one of them is something like "windows application").
During the update , i clicked 'ok' to restart my phone. Sadly, it didn't restart after that. it went switched off.
whenever i try to switch on my phone,
It first shows 'NOKIA' and shows some dots flashing at the bottom of the screen, as if it were going to switch on as normal- but end up without restarting.. (Se the pictures below)

Ipod 6th gen. nano attach to itunes generated error and it is in switch off when update its software with itunes.

I have ipod 6th generation. when i update software in itunes it is switch off and do not response in itunes. It is not switch on and when i attach to computer itunes shows this error "An Ipod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the ipod. then try again. An unknon error occurred (2005)". Please help me on this probleam.

are you sure, that your iPod is 3rd generation? http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1353
For a second generation iPod, 4.2.1 is the latest possible version.

Just completed another restore. iTunes says the the iPad has been restored and will restart automatically and appear in iTunes when it is ready. That was 30 minutes ago. iPad still won't start. I am looking down the barrel of yet another fruitless restore. What a crap product.

Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple logo.

Coincidentally I have had the same problem and I am also on Reliance network. I learnt the lesson in an expensive way (Read at Rs.17/min as this is the ISD rate of Reliance for calling to USA). I did mnp (mobile number portability, you oldie!) from Airtel to Reliance. So I had the inactive nano sim of Airtel. I took out the Reliance sim and inserted the Airtel sim into my iPhone 5s. By the time it was serching for the network, I quickly navigated to settings>phone and turned that damned dial assit off. That's it. Now when I inserted the Reliance sim and dialled the toll free numbers it was working perfectly, means free of cost. But I still wonder how come Reliance does not send the post call charge notification after the ISD calls? I had to call 198 to know about the balance deduction.

Each time I tried the download failed with a message saying “Service “Apple Mobile Device” failed to start. When I did finally manage to get an i-Tunes shortcut on my desktop, the program wouldn’t open saying: “i-Tunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install i-Tunes. Error 7 (Windows error 193)” Any ideas to resolve this?

Just some possible solutions, try and see:
- Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.
- Reboot your laptop.
- Clear hosts (windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts)
- Remove the iOS 7 ipsw and let iTunes download a new one (press WINDOWS KEY + R and type %appdata%, then navigate to Apple Computer/iTunes/Software Updates and remove the ipsw).
- Don't forget to close iTunes before doing these actions.
- Try a different USB port.
- Completely remove iTunes (also from registry and stuff) and re-install.
- Try on a different computer.

Trying to switch off auto-updates in Win 03. Have tried:
- Adobe settings manager
- Updating Windows registry keys
Nothing works..updates are still requested
Any ideas..?

Could you check to see if a file named updateDisabled is present in either of these two folders (I suspect the Win 2003 folder would be similar to XP)?

That should take care of it on a per user basis. For the registry, did you have HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\AIR\UpdateDisabled set to 1?

Since other millions of people updated and do not have that problem - it means one of two.
1.Your friends lied to you and do not have that problem and in that case only your installation of ios7 got corrupted and you need to restore your phone.
2.Your friends didn't lie to you and all 4 of you need to restore phones (that way reinstalling ios 7 properly)

Software update won't turn off

My software update keeps "bouncing on" in my dock, even when I tell it I don't want the updates or turn it off. I've unclicked the "check for updates" in system preferences, but it just resets itself to "check for update weekly" within a minute or two and tells me it has updates available almost immediately. Any advice?

I just got back from the Genius Bar (W14th store in Manhattan).
FYI - I originally came across this problem using Activity Monitor and noticing that there was a SoftwareUpdateCheck process constantly showing up like a friggin' ghost, which seemed to coincide with my System Preferences switching back on the Check for Updates option.
The Genius Bar guys couldn't trace what the problem was; they did a bunch of commands in Terminal, dumped a bunch of different plist files - and still no help. When I mentioned the whole Admin versus Standard user theory - nothing specific about an Admin user came to mind for them. So we decided to create a new Administrator user account which AT FIRST resulted in the same problem...
*BUT THEN* in System Preferences once we unchecked the "Download important updates automatically" option under "Check for Updates:" (which was set to Weekly by default) the SoftwareUpdateCheck process FINALLY disappeared out of the Activity Monitor and never came back on. And Check for Updates in the Software Update Preferences stayed whichever way I set it (off, daily, weekly or monthly). It seems the key was "Download important updates automatically", which is weird because in the bad user account it stays unchecked there even while Check for Updates mysteriously re-checks itself.
So the Genius Bar guy and myself think there's something installed on my original Admin user account that is forcing an update check in the background. I've disabled the automatic Adobe Updater - but that didn't help - so one by one I'll go through all my other software until I find the guilty bugger. Until then I'm going to use my new user account and quarantine my original user account - accept for doing iTunes stuff - since I'm not ready to face the trouble of migrating all my iTunes Library data to the new user account.
P.S., thanks Marcus at the W14 Store Genius Bar for your patience and enthusiasm. I'm impressed how well you GB folks switch gears from tricky in-depth Mac problems to "my iPhone screen gets stuck sometimes, I can't explain it, so gimme a new one."
