Software updates 10Sept2008/Real Player

Hi
i just downloaded and installed the new updates for Quicktime, iTunes 8.0 and Frontrow. The software updates appear to have some negative ramifications for my Real Player software. As a result of the updates, playing Real ".rmvb" files is impossible. everything was fine and dandy before hand, i could watch it effortlessly, but now i am getting the following alert:
"Unsupported document type.
ile://localhost/Users/Ronan/Documents/Azureus%20Downloads/Scrubs%20Season%205/Sc rubs%20S05E13%20My%20Five%20Stages%20(2)%20%5BFuFu%5D.rmvb"
I tried browsing the Real website for clues, but all that could be found were forum topics from 2007 (which do not resolve the issue) and a George Clooney video. My Real Player is version 11 for mac.
If anyone has encountered this problem and has found a method of playing .rmvb files, i would be eternally grateful for the info.

Java update and real player update not compatable with firefox 6 on Windows 7. Will they still function right?

When i opened firefox today , there were updates but when it tried to update it came back that java and real player updates were not compatable with my firefox. I have Firefox 6. Will these 2 programs still work all right if they are not updated?

I just had a similar issue and I ended having to manually clean up the registry to get Java working again.
I just got a new computer at work and it had Java 7 installed but it turns out an app we need to use at work doesn't work with Java 7, only Java 6.
I uninstalled Java 7 and installed Java 6 but Firefox was not showing the Java plugin as installed. I tried all sorts of things, including uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox and none of it worked. Finally I again uninstalled Java and then I searched for "Java" in the registry and found TONS of entries still in there for Java, including for Java 7. I manually deleted all the entries (WARNING: this is extremely risky) rebooted, then installed Java 6 and now it's working fine.
I really hate it when uninstallers leave stuff behind. It just makes a mess.

6260 Software update and media player

I m using 6260 for the past 1 yr and I was interested updating my handset now that I have the newest PC suite I was able to connect my handset it data cable and bluetooth but I wanted to kno ho to update my media played inthis handset so that I can get *.mp4 files media play on my handset and I aould like to kno other updates I can get spice my handset once again.

I did install all the relevant software from LaCie--the disc burning support. The only other software that came with the drive was their SilverKeeper program and a copy of Toast Lite. My Mac just has an internal CD-RW drive (no DVD anything). I run Software Update regularly, so I think having the DVD drive connected and on triggered the download. You're saying that there are some missing DVD-related software bits that are keeping DVD Player from launching?

5800 Xpressmusic software update made music player...

Hello,
I recently used the Ovi suite program to upgrade the software of my 5800 Xpressmusic. After the update was completed, which was to make lyrics available in the music player, I was no longer able to open the music player. I am unable to open any of the music files on my phone. I restored the phone to the status before the upgrade and still nothing works.
Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

goto application manager on ur phone and see in installed apps if there's a music player and a metadatautility cenrep ini file.. If yes, uninstall them and see if it helps.. Repost if u dnt find these installed.

Flash player not working after recent software update

I have a MAC OSX 10.5.8, after the recent software update my flash player no longer works.
I have read that there is a problem with security for the version of flash that I was using and this is the reason it was disabled. However, I have tried to download the most recent version from the Adobe website, but nothing happens and a message says I already have flash installed on my computer.
I have a version of flash in my HD>>Library>>Internet plug-ins, and there is also one in HD>>Library>>Internet plug-ins (Disabled) which I have tried to move but it only lets you copy it and it seems unable to be moved back to HD>>Library>>Plug-ins
I have also tried to download the "No Script" addon for Firefox so that I can at least have flash working in Firefox, but that doesn't seem to be downloading either.
Please could somebody help me. I cannot now watch videos, listen to my favourite radio stations or even upload pics to ebay to create ebay listings. This problem ruining my internet enjoyment and I just hope that it can be fixed again. How dare Apple just do this without any warning or giving any info on how to easily fix this problem once flash has been disabled.
I am not a techie so maybe there is an easy fix, but I have spent hours trying a lot of different things but nothing seems to be working.

Please, nobody waste any time replying to this issue as the problem appears to be fixed now. I rarely restart my laptop as I usually just put it to sleep, however, I restarted it and the problem looks to have gone away. I may have fixed it with some of the things I tried, but the laptop may just have needed restarting - I'm not sure.
But as long as the problem is resolved, I'm happy. :-)))

Remote Desktop and Doing System / Software Updates

I am new to Remote Desktop. I am starting to use it daily in my class room to share things with students and lock screens, etc. Is there an easy way to do system updates and software updates (adobe flash player, java, etc.) without having to manually log in to each machine? I have to believe there is a better way...could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

N95 Software update... I've lost Real Player!

Bought my N95 8gb yesterday on Vodafone and updated like you're supposed to... however Real Player has disappeared from the media menu. If I bluetooth a video file to the phone from my old mobile it'll play it in Real Player but I just can't open Real Player from the media menu.
Any ideas?

Have you checked the Tools folder on your handset?

Real Player download not working since I updated FF.... It didn't work with the latest version of FF so I reinstalled vrevious FF but still can't get Real Player to work again.

I lost the Real Player download capabillity when FF updated to FF4..... The plug ins for Real Player still show on the add on screen but no " download this video" shows when I mouse over a video.... I tried reverting to earlier version of FF which had worked well for Real Player donloads but it no longer works either.
How can I get Real Player to work with FF again?

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.
Sorry, just this minute went to insert image and it is giving me a message saying this sort of content is not allowed?.

RealPlayer updates were always pushed to devices through firmware updates and have not been pushed any other way. Please check via Nokia Suite if you have the latest version of firmware available for your device, and update if prompted to do so.

I have updated to Firefox 6 on OS Vista; since then I can't play YouTube videos, operate Skype or Real Player. How do I fix the problem successfully?

YouTube videos seem to load for approximately a second before stopping... and then there is no progress at all. After upgrading to Firefox 6, I received a message saying that it is not compatible with Skype and Real Player (?) and that certain updates could therefore not be performed.
With all due respect, what good is it to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox if popular applications like YouTube and Skype can't operate anymore? I desperately need to solve the problem - if there is no solution other than 'downgrading' to a previous version of Firefox, which version would that be?

Why the real player download feature doesn't work with my 14.0.1 firefox? in the past (before update mozzila) it was working... now it doesn't. why?

i had a previous version of mozzilla firefox and i updated. since then, the feature of the real player doesn't work. propably isn't compatible. although, with my internet explorer it works. i went to the settings of the real player and the only explorer it shows is Internet Explorer. If you install 3.6.3 and don't want it to automatically upgrade you need to open the browser and select "Tools" from the menu bar. Go to "Options". Select the "Advanced" icon. Go to the "update" tab on the "Advanced" menu. Here you can configure how and what Firefox updates.

Real Player Downloader will no work with FIrefix after updating Real Player, how do I fix this?

I updated Real Player and the downloader will not work with Firefox now. It does work with Internet Explorer. Firefox is my default browser but it is not listed in the Real Player browser list.

Hi David, try dropping the .dll extension, in fact you can just enter dom.ipc.plugins and it should come up. Or enter the whole thing and then backspace until it comes up. Also, I have Windows 7(x64) and this fix worked fine for me.
