Software updates sync fails

Our SCCM setup stopped downloading updates 3 days ago.
The error shown on the wsyncmgr.log is this:

I have searched the web for some time without success...
Any help please?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

Disable the security software and try again, Kaspersky's has been really annoying with this along with a couple others.

  • SCCM 2007 R3 Software Updates Sync : 6703 WSUS server not configured

    Hi,
We run SCCM 2007 R3 in native mode (Software Update Point and WSUS both reside on SCCM site server). We're having issues running Software Updates Synchronization which have previously worked fine. In SMS_WSUS_Control_Manager the errors appear as follows
    MessageID:6703
    SMS WSUS Synchronization failed.
    Message: WSUS server not configured.
    Source: CWSyncMgr::DoSync.
The operating system reported error 2147500037: Unspecified error
I've followed the suggested fixes in
http://technet.micro...y/bb735874.aspx but still we have an issue.
If I open the WSUS console directly and run a manual synchronization from Microsoft this completes successfully. However, I presume this will not be using SSL which is what SCCM will want to use in native mode. I've checked the bindings in IIS on WSUS Administration
site to confirm that the certificate hasn't expired.
Any ideas what else I can try?
    Cheers,
    Paul

  • Update Sync Fails with 0x80131500

    Hello,
I've looked through the forum for an answer to this recent problem. I went to sync updates for the new out-of-band IE patch and discovered the last time my catalog updated successfully was 4/26. We did have patches install on production servers the next
day including a service pack for SQL server 2012.
This software update point has worked for months, has no proxy, no change of the WSUS location, nor did adding credentials to connect to WSUS (on the same server) help any. I also looked on both the SQL server and the SCCM server for update
KB2840628 which had been mentioned in some posts.
Due to the proximity of the breakage to the updates I would assume either an update or the reboot of the servers caused the issue. We've rebooted both SQL and SCCM since to no avail.
WSUS on the same server shows synchronizations as "success" so the underlying structure seems to be working fine.
I have not deleted the Software Update Point and re-added since I wasn't certain exactly what that does.
The logs show the following errors. I've looked for answers based on these but haven't found anythign that works or fits my situation (WSUS hasn't moved, etc):
Error: The Microsoft Software License Terms have not been completely downloaded and cannot be accepted.
Sync failed: Failed to sync some of the updates. Source: Microsoft.SystemsManagementServer.SoftwareUpdatesManagement.WsusSyncAction.WSyncAction.SyncUpdates  $$<SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER>
Too many consecutive failures. Aborting sync.  $$<SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER>
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Even I had similar issue however it got resolved by itself, so it could be something to do with external to CM12 as Umair mentioned. Also some more details troubleshooting and solution available in the following thread  http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/09ed08ef-876e-493d-b139-6fc3d9500447/sccm-software-update-errorlicense-terms-could-not-be-downloaded?forum=configmanagerdeployment

  • Software Updates Sync is slow

    Hello,
We are seeing slow sync times for our 2012 SCCM Software Updates on the 2nd Tuesday of every month and I was wondering if anyone had any general insight as to why.  We notice that when compared side-by-side, the 2007 site can finish up to 30-45 minutes
sooner than the 2012 side.  On non-Patch Tuesdays, the sync seems to finish at the same time for the old and new sites.
    The major differences are:
We are downloading and making available all updates in 2012, where we were only downloading known required updates in 2007.
We have our Software Update point assigned to our Primary site for 2012.
Another difference we don't quite understand is the log for 2012 seems to be much larger and show a ton of Skipped updates because they are up to date.  The sync also seems to happen every day at 1pm and last for about 45 minutes.  Example log
    entry:
Skipped update c9d07481-cc99-4694-b2ff-96c5176d9045 - Q329115: Security Update (Windows 2000) because it is up to date.

Some updates are shown as superseded or expired, so it does seem like this is probably an expected verification to make sure updates are kept current on the WSUS.  Should it take a long time?
Does any of this sound like an anomaly or that there might be something wrong with our sync process?  We feel like it is much more taxing and time consuming than in 2007 and we want to verify #1) if something is wrong and/or #2) if there are
things we can be doing to expedite and smooth this process.
I apologize if this is a bit broad and lacking of information, but we aren't sure where to start with troubleshooting this issue.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

We are syncing English language and then all the categories (Security Updates, Update Rollups, Service Packs, Tools, Feature Packs, Updates, Definition Updates, and Critical Updates)
on both the 2007 site and the 2012 site.  I don't see that we sync specific Products for either site, as we want everything to get pulled down for us to then manually test, filter, and deploy out to our organization.
I don't see any EULA errors in the 2012 site wsyncmgr.log file, but there are a few other errors.  Honestly, the errors can sometimes be random or not at all and the sync can
still take a long time.  Today it looks like our sync failed and re-ran itself due to a failed update.  I just checked it again and the latest sync appeared to go through without errors.

  • Software update installation fails on 10.6.8 any ideas

Since I upgraded my Intel IMac to a 2tb drive I've been getting the software update telling me there are two updates to load (involving a restart) the download works and the instalation appears to be normal until the restart when the system tells me the install failed. Anybody getting the same problem?

Hi, I have the same problem. Imac OS X 10.6.8 (late 2008) Snow Leopard. I posted same question yesterday. 27 views but no replies yet. I have 6 updates that download but won't install. Sorry I can't help. If I get a reply with help I will pass it on.

  • Software update always fails due to "unknown error"

When I attempt to install software updates on my Macbook Air the process always fails with an error message that says "unable to install due to unexpected error" (or something like that). Any ideas how to fix this problem? I've found some references to this problem in the discussions but the proposed fix didn't work for me.

  • Software Update - Apple FAIL!

Apple have completely borked the Software Update feature in Sno Leo, like many users with multiple machines I prefer to download the package for an update once and then use Apple Remote Desktop to update all machines on my LAN. I also use the same process for my commercial client's networks.
I was amazed to see that Apple have removed the option from the Software Update dialogue box to "Download Only", the only way now is to follow a link to a blank page on the Apple site, navigate to where ever the particular update package is hidden and download it from there.
Apple's epic fail on this issue is made worse with the release of 10.6.1 - even when you finally navigate to the relevant section of the downloads site, the update package is not yet up there!!
here is a link to a screenie of the new updater and the drop box with the link to the blank page,
    http://img.skitch.com/20090910-1gmmh99gxgtnd76nxkrunib46u.jpg
and the blank page it links you to,
    http://support.apple.com/en_AU/downloads
and after you manage to navigate to the OSX updates section,
    http://img.skitch.com/20090910-tiypash4wbw52tphhdegip9hhx.jpg

    Is that all ?
I would have thought an epic fail was something of real significance and something of importance doesn't work. I hadn't realised that Apple designed their system to suit you. there could be others who like it in the new way, rather than the old.
Perhaps time to get a grip on reality - its Friday tomorrow and the weekend is coming up so perhaps time to smile a little more and not make mountains out of molehills. Take a chill pill and think nice thoughts.

  • Configure-Software-Update-Libraries fails

So, during the initial install of EMOC 12.0.1.3 everything goes just fine until it starts configuring the software update libraries. The odd part about the error message it's giving me is that the MOS credentials are fine. EMOC can use the same credentials to activate an asset. So, what is causing this? I've dug through Oracle's docs and I can't find any references to this so I'm hoping someone with experience can guide me.
    Thanks!

The log file /var/opt/sun/xvm/uce/opt/server/logs/error.log may give more details for the problem though it's not very readable. FYI, the problem I got was: I used a nfs file system to place the libraries, and somehow the configuration utility couldn't grab the file lock from the nfs file system. It worked before, but not for that time. I didn't figure out the reason, However, after I moved everything from the nfs file system to the local filesystem, the problem was resolved. Just FYI.

  • Install Software Updates Step fails during Build and Capture

I have run into a problem while attempting to use the Install Software Update task during a build and capture task sequence.  I have MDT 2012U1 integrated into SCCM 2012.
The Install Software steps find and use the Deployment Points fine and the Use Toolkit steps similarly are able to download their source files from the distribution points using the Network Access account.  The Install Software Updates step, however
fails with an access denied error in the CAS.log.
I have found that I can work around this problem by setting the DP to allow anonymous access.  After checking this box, the software updates install during the build and capture task sequence.  Unchecking the Allow anoymous makes the problem recur.
I would like to not have to have the "allow anonymous access" enabled on the DPs for obvious reasons.  Other packages download correctly from the DP with anonymous access disabled - they use the network access account.  Install Software Updates
is the only step that seems unable to use that account to talk with the DP.
Is this a known issue?  Is there a work around?

Thanks for the information. I will give that a try.  I do have the SMSMP & SMSSLP (not sure I need this one in 2012) filled in in the Configmgr client install settings.  Before I did that, it couldn't even find the SUP.
I am a little skeptical that the hotfix will fix my problem since most packages are downloading from the DP fine - it is only Software Updates that are failing to download.  On the other hand, it is clearly a permissions issue since allowing anonymous
on the DP resolves the issue, all be it in a way I am uncomfortable maintaining in the long run.
That KB replaces a lot of key Windows system files.  Hopefully, it won't cause more problems than it solves.
    ---additional thought
I wonder, could it be that Packages that work without this KB have package share settings with "Copy the content in this package to a packages share on Distribution Points" cleared/unchecked?  This setting is not available for patch packages
    - so I wonder if it is enabled by default behind the scenes.  That could explain why the patch packages are affected and not the other regular application packages I have are not.  All my regular packages so far do not have the
"Copy the content" box checked. Clients would be accessing the packages differently I suppose based on whether it was through a packages share or through the new SCCM 2012 package storage thing with the hashing.

  • Software Update Scan: Failed to populate from CCM_SoftwareUpdatesClientConfig instance, error 0x80004005

    Hey Guys,
has anyone ever seen this error when scanning for Software Updates (scanagent.log)? It is happening on a remote management point/SUP which should get the updates from itself. Mpcontrol.log/wsusctrl.log are looking good and Package Distribution is working
fine. Just the Software Updates do not work.
The Windowsupdate.log is showing some errors too: WARNING: PTError: 0x80248014/WARNING: Initialization failed for Protocol Talker Context: 0x80248014 The other logs are looking good so far.
We are already on SP1 but i think the error was there before. I just missed to check this before i upgraded.
    What i already did:
    - reinstalled SCCM Client
    - repair WMI
    - reinstall SUP/MP role
    - reinstall Windows Update Agent 3.0
So any help is really appreciated.
    best regards
    Philipp

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with CSS as they can work with you to solve this problem.

  • Software Update N500 fails

Hello I just bought a Nokia 500 GPS device. The installed software version is V1.0.40, so I've tried to update it to the latest (1.0.62) version with the software update wizard. But it fails to finish the task resulting in an application crash.
(I run windows XP, I have installed microsoft .NET prior to the software update).
The details of the error (from the application event log of XP!) are:
     EventType clr20r3, P1 nokia500updater.exe, P2 1.0.0.0, P3 47a03d51, P4 system.windows.forms, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 4333aefa, P7 1508, P8 12f, P9 system.argumentexception, P10 NIL.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
What is wrong and how can I update the software?

    You're welcome Daniel.
It may also be that PC Suite installation causes N500 update wizard not to function correctly so, one option would be to uninstall PC Suite first (also check manually that all related files and folders, plus all registry entries are removed from you computer - this is not mentioned in that Tips section), then reboot your computer, now install that N500 update wizard and try to update.
And one more thing I heard from a friend of mine who also wasn't able to get this working with N500 attached to computer ... he took the SD card out from the N500 and put it into card reader, launced N500 update wizard and surprise ... update wizard thinks that N500 is attached there and starts downloading update file to SD card (so, there must be some file of folder in that SD card that indicates to wizard that update can start) and when wizard tells to restart the N500 just remove SD card from card reader, put it into N500 and restart it and sw update should proceed. My friend tells that N500 was updated correctly and is working fine.
    Cheers.
