Rumour mills are again stating that Microsoft may be renegging on the free upgrade to Windows 10 which may be released by the end of the year.  We will have to wait to see what offically happens when it is finally released.  I do not believe this will happen on legal versions of Windows and will continue to be Free.  This misinformation started with possibly pirated versions getting the free upgrade:

Given time all software will have Windows 10 versions released but only based on the RTM versions and not the Tech Preview versions we have not.

  • How do I upgrade to the full version of creative cloud?

I see you have billed my credit card for a single app version, but I think I want to upgrade to the full version for $49.99/month. How do I do this?
Also it seems to me I can only download the trial version of dreamweaver (I purchased the membership for this app and it even says so in my billing history)? Help?

If you mean that you currently have a Single App subscription and you want to upgrade to a full Cloud membership then try this FAQ
    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html#single-app
If I decide I would like to upgrade to an Adobe Creative Cloud complete membership rather than continue a single-app membership, how do I do that?
You can upgrade your single-app membership to a Creative Cloud complete membership by logging in to www.creativecloud.com, going to the My Account page, and simply walking through the steps to upgrade. You will be given a partial refund on the remaining amount due on your existing membership.

  • Why can't I upgrade from older full version?

Hi, I am seeing "full" versions of CS3 and 4 on sale for low prices but some say you cannot upgrade from these. I've never heard of this before. Is this because of the low pricing or does Adobe sell "special" full versions that don't allow you to upgrade?
    Thanks,
    Steve

Heh.  Do a Google Maps street view of the place where they say they are.  They don't actually have a storefront that I can see, but even if they did, take a good look at that place...  Do you think you could walk into any place there and buy legitimate software?  I'd be fearing for my life, frankly.
The reason you can't upgrade is that the serial number (if you even get one) is pirated and Adobe's no fool.  They're not going to accept them for upgrade!  Simple as that!

  • Vista upgrade and XP full version, what can I do?

I would like to install Vista on a new bootcamp (snow leopard on mac mini), but my copy of Vista is an upgrade. I have a full version of XP, and an upgrade version of Vista. Do I have to install XP first, or can I use the upgrade and just pop in the XP disc when it prompts?  I have done this with another PC that had a full 98 and an upgrade XP, but that wasnt a mac. I also am concerned since I may upgrade to Lion very soon, and dont have the money to get both lion and win 7, that I will be stuck if I try to do a clean install of Lion, I may lose the ability to run bootcamp with my current Windows discs.
    Thanks for any help,
    Ken

  • I'm running the beta (not GM) version of Lion. How do I upgrade to the full version?

I'm running the developer beta version of Lion right now. When I try to update to the full version in the Mac App Store I get a message saying I have to remove the existing app first.
    Obviously, that seems impossible.
    What do I do?

I see there are a lot of new people to the developer world. If you have the GM release, you have the final. There is no need to format or reinstall. You have the same version as people are downloading today. When apple releases a point upgrade you will be able to update just like everyone else because the developer GM is the same as what has been released today. I have been a beta tester and developer all the way back to osx 10.0 so trust me you already have what apple released today.
All of that may no longer be true in Lion. The Mac App Store changes things. I would check the developer site for details when things settle down a bit.

  • Lost Serialized Insert from PC Ultimate Software Suite-Cannot Install Full Version of Photoshop Elements 12

I purchased a Dell Inspiron laptop which was bundled with PC Ultimate Software Suite, a collection of programs on one disc. It included Adobe Photoshop Elements 12, but I misplaced the insert that contained the serial key. I still have the sleeve that the CD was bundled with, as well as the CD itself. Is there anyway I can still download the full version of Photoshop Elements 12 without having to buy the program separately or buying Software Suite again?

If Dell provided the bundle you should contact Dell to see about getting a replacement or the serial for the disk.

  • Logic Studio 2.0 purchased off Ebay... came with Logic Express 9 upgrade instead of full version, serial works to unlock registration but seems wrong and perhaps a loophole.  What should I do?

I purchased what was advertised as a Full Version of Logic Studio 2 off ebay.  It ended up being Logic Studio Pro 2 Upgrade and came with a copy of Logic Express 9 upgrade which did unlock the installation.  I didn't realize it was the upgrade version til I saw the sticker in the upright corner of the box post installation.  I feel like this is a loophole and not a legitimate installation now.    Is this legit or should I acquire a full copy of Logic Express?  The seller continously tells me that it's 100% legal and legit, etc..  I have already demanded he should send me or reimburse me enough to acquire a legitimate copy of Logic Express that supports the upgrade.  Am I right in doing so?  Or is it okay to use the Logic Express 9 upgrade copy to upgrade to Logic Studio Pro 2?  Doesn't seem right.  I'm very confused and would love some advice.  Thank you in advance.

The Logic Express 9 upgrade package requires you should own Logic Express 8 Full.... for that to be a legal use of the Logic Express 9 upgrade serial which then you could use to register LP9/Logic Studio 2.0 upgrade package using the LS2.0 upgrade serial..
This is an apparent loophole, in my opinion, that is being exploited by the seller....
However, when in any doubt with anything regarding possible legal issues... contact Apple directly and ask them for their advice/opinion on the matter.

  • Windows 8 full version Photoshop download

I have a new PC that is Windows 8. All I want to do is download my original PhotoShop CS6 full version program. I just get an error every time to contact adobe service support. I remember that there was an Akamai loader the last time I had to load CS6 and that worked, but the Akamai loader does not show up and I do not know how to get it. Any help would be much appreciated. • Snow Leopard disc on new MB Pro an upgrade disc or full version disc?

I've been wishing to buy a 13" MacBook Pro since my brother got his. He's got one with Leopard but I want mine with Snow Leopard already installed. Since I live in Puerto Rico, we don't have Apple Stores and they don't ship here either, I depend on Best Buy for my Apple needs. I've been calling them to find out if they have that laptop with SL and today some BB employee told me that they didn't have them with SL installed but that the computer comes with a SL disc so I can make the upgrade myself. Is this true, I didn't know Apple was doing that? If is true, is this SL disc an upgrade disc or a full version disc? Can I use that SL disc to install SL on a new, empty hard drive? If anyone has some experience with this please help.

I just got a new Mac Pro and it came with a Snow Leopard disk that was absolutely identical, inside and out, to the SL disk I bought when it first came out.
I didn't try an erase and install, I cloned from a hard drive backup (as we discussed elsewhere), but you can't see any difference between the disks, I have no doubt it's a full disk.
I had heard that Apple only made a single disk this time. I'm assuming the price of SL made separate disks unattractive.

  • How do I upgrade trial to full version

Hi - I downloaded the LiveCycle Designer trial and now have ordered the full version  How do I enter my new serial number?  If I have to uninstall the trial, how do I make sure to take all the files out properly so I can install the full version?

They never answered.  When I got my license key, I clicked the new download link they
sent me, without first uninstalling the old version, and I chose the default option, which
was something like "fix current installation" and it worked!  Didn't even ask me for my
    license key.

  • I have trial software which software to chose to buy? upgrade or box full version?

HI I dowload the trial version and now it come to the time to purchase,  should I chose just upgrade ?? there is also a choice for Box??
please help sorry not too good with all these software

As Terence wrote in the Mac App Store (not the iTunes App Store) you can get Aperture for $70 US. The only thing is you need at least 10.6 to access the App Store, You softeasr listing shows you as running 10.5.8 so you wouldn't be able to purchased Aperture this way.
However keep in mind if you have any plans of updating to Lion in the future you will also need to be running 10.6 because for one thing Lion is only available (as of now) from the App Store and because Lion is an upgrade and it needs 10.6 running on the target to so the upgrade.
So given what you will save on Aperture now and the fact you will need to upgrade if you go to Lion in the future you might just want to go and upgrade to Snow Leopard now.
    Something to think about.

  • HT4623 I do not have the "Software Upgrade" window in my Settings, General.  Alternative way to upgrade?

I have an IPad 2.  I tried to use Netflix and it told me that I needed to have iOS 6.1.2.  Turns out I do not have the one before that either.  I never got an alert as I did on my iphone 4s.   When I ask the how to question, apple support tells me to go to Settings, General, Software update.  Problem is I do not have software update available as a choice.  Are there alternative ways to upgrade?  Thanks.  I did notice on other discussion boards that other Netflix users are pulling their hair out since the upgrade to 6.1.2.

Settings>General>Software Update is only available in IOS 5 and above.
If you are using IOS 4, you need to connect to iTune (computer) to update software.

  • I'm a bit confused, do I purchase Windows 7 full version, or Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac? I am currently running on OS X Mountain Lion.

I'm new to using Mac, however my new job requires me to work on Windows...Go figure, right after I JUST buy my new iMac...anyways, I was told to use bootcamp, however I'm getting different opinions as to what I'm supposed to purchase...Do I just buy Windows 7 or the Parallel Desktop for Mac?
    Thanks in advanced!

    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
         1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows
XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  For Boot Camp
4.0 and above you can only use Windows 7 or later. Follow
instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on
installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and
installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the
computer into OS X or Windows.
         2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business,
Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software
virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently
             with OS X.
         3. VM Fusion and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate,
or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that
enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
         4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows
applications without having to install Windows.  The
Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
         5. VirtualBox is an Open Source freeware virtual machine such
as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.
It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM
             Fusion.
Note that VirtualBox, Parallels, and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.
A Windows 7 installer disc is a requirement for Boot Camp and the virualization software.

  • Can't find my data file to back up, so I can uninstall and reinstall the software. (Windows, Vista & Palm version 6.0.1)

I can't find my data file, in order to back it up.  After going to Documents - Palm One, the only thing that looks like a user name is a file with no data.  Somewhere there has to be another file with all my data, since data is available when I open the Palm One software on my computer.  After backing it up, I want to uninstall and reinstall the Palm One software.  I'm hoping this resolves my inabilty hot sync.  Thanks!  Lauraflavin.
