Software upload IT Tunes

When I sign in to IT Tunes is gives me an option to upgrade but when I select Download, nothing happens.
When I try to buy tracks it gives me the upgrade option (which it will not do) but doesn't allow me to by pass and purchase. I'm totally stuck.
I have recently changed from AOL to Virgin but I have altered my account details. I am set up as an Apple user.

IPod Touch not Synchronising/New Software Uploads-A/V Software Conflict

Hi,
I've been following the threads relating to the iPod Touch not being recognised (after having dealt with Windows thinking it was a Camera!!). One issue brough to my attention by the Apple Support Team when downloading any new software is a potential conflict with Anti Virus software and firewalls.
I had previously gone through the loop of uninstalling/reinstalling Quicktime, iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service etc etc.
In my case, when I connected the iPod, iTunes was coming up with a message saying "iPod detected in recovery mode", which then required me to do an updated software download. When running this, it appeared to complete the download, but the iPod remained with the "connection" screen (USB connector and iTunes symbol), as indeed it did again tonight.
I spoke with the Apple Support Team again tonight, and was advised to try disabling my anti virus software and firewall as he suggested that given the long time it takes to download the iPod software update, the AV software may be causing the problem.
This I did, and after having been advised last night to set up a new account, switched to this account, started iTunes, the Touch then went into software upload "mode" and eventually completed and appeared in the devices!!
So that's my problem resolved, but hopefully the advice I received may be of assistance to others struggling with connectivity issues.

Apologies for the nosy question, but what security software do you use? (I know people can have issues with CA software in particular in this context, but it is always useful to know about other packages when trying to help with people in your situation.)

My ipad was working perfecly until the new software upload for ipad. Itunes then told me i had to restore my ipad. i keep getting error message 14. there was nothing wrong with my ipad or my computer prior to the software upload. i have contacted apple help three times now. i've read ht 1925, ts 1363 and ts 1275. as a non computer person and apple support not being available on sundays i am not sure what to do now. totally frustrated. i've spent at least four hours on this. please help.

You can install it on your iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) either by redownloading it directly on the device via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it, or by connecting the device to your computer's iTunes and syncing it to it.

from a PC : iTunes 11 for Windows: Sync and organize iOS apps
As to how to then use the app, if the description on the app's description page in the store doesn't describe how to use it in enough detail, then is there a link to the developer's website on its description page, and does that have details ?

You can do the following:
1) Download the IOS 5 update file from http://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/97320
2) Copy the downloaded IOS 5 to the firmware locations stated in the link above.
3) Start itunes and update. It will take 2-5 hours to update your iPhone to IOS5.

I have Iphone3G - my email address was changed automatically to an old address after an software upload -- how can I get the correct email back?

When I first purchased my phone in January I had an email address of [email protected] but found that the phone and comline weren't talking to each other so I set up email [email protected] and everything worked perfectly -- calendar, e-mail, etc. Last week a message appeared on my phone instructing me to upload new software. My [email protected] for icloud was replaced my the old email address. The account was locked so I went to iforgot.apple, etc and reset it. Then I took the option to change the email and on the computer all looks correct but my phone still has my old e-mail. I've turned it off and on hoping the new info would be loaded but no luck. Any ideas?

I kind of agree with Philly on this one. If you get a new email address, there is no need to establish an entirely new account to use that address. You just need to modify your account to show the new email address. This way all your purchase history and rights to purchased apps stays in place. Creating a new iTunes/Apple account each time your email address changes really doesn't make sense in my opinion. I only point this out for future searchers who end up on this thread.

There is no such thing as spy software that can be installed without user knowledge unless you hacked (jailbroke) your phone which makes it extremely unsecure. Otherwise, no "spy software."

If you mean a software update and you are using Sony Ericsson Update Service it will give you an error message if it has failed but if it ever does fail you just run the update again.

Multi-computer software upload with single serial number

I am currently running an older version of Illustrator that I purchased. When I go to upload the software and authenticate it with the serial number, it says the serial number is in use and I must deactivate it from another system. My previous computer, which fell attack to a massive power surge, is not operable. How can I continue to use this software on a new computer if I don't have access to the old computer anymore?

You need to contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations. That will free up the lost installation.

Can I upload the 7.0.4 software from itunes without a wifi connection on the phone. My phone will not connect to wifi.

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

It may be a Desktop Computer or a laptop , but all is BlackBerry Desktop Software for Window or Mac , if your laptop is running on windows then go through the above KB to reload your device OS .you can download the recent desktop software from here if you don't have BlackBerry desktop software .
So you can do it on your laptop.

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

you can sync your contacts and things under your own itunes and your wife can have her own... or both in one as long as you have it synced in the same computer they will be there
if you name ur phones its easier to tell which is which
my husband kids and i all have our names and then iphone next to it and it creates a different backup for each and then we update and we restore from there it lets you choose which backup you want...
