Sol 9 install error on I86...kernel memory

I was trying to install 'sol 9' on an i86 and get the following error
Configuring /dev and /devices
Using RPC Bootparams for network configuartion info
Skipping interface e1x10
Warning: Request for too much kernel memory (138379264 bytes) , will hang forever
has anyone come across this error?

Umm so what's my solution? Downgrade binutils, gcc and glibc? I haven't installed any of them from testing.
Here's my nvidia installer log:
Using built-in stream user interface
-> The file '/tmp/.X0-lock' exists... an X server appears to be running
ERROR: You appear to be running an X server; please exit X before installing.
For further details, please see the section INSTALLING THE NVIDIA DRIVER
in the README available on the Linux driver download page at
www.nvidia.com.
ERROR: Installation has failed. Please see the file
'/var/log/nvidia-installer.log' for details. You may find suggestions
on fixing installation problems in the README available on the Linux
driver download page at www.nvidia.com.
That appears to be the wrong error so I'll kill X and try again now...

  • Flash Player Install Error: Memory can not be "written"

Actual error (with fake addresses because I get a different address each time it fails this way) is
    CAPTION: iexplore.exe - Application error
TEXT: "The instruction at "0x99999999" referenced memory at "0x99999999". The memory could not be "written".
So far I have used the uninstall_flash_player.exe and tried the reset_fp10.cmd with the MS subinacl.exe tool. I have used a registry
scrubber (RegScrubXP) and re-tried all of the above. I still can not get the flash player to load and I still get the error each time I try. I have run IE8 manage add-ons and the flash player is not listed. I am at my wit's end, I have searched everywhere and tried everything. This is a brand new computer with very little other than MS products loaded. Nothing is loaded that is not loaded on my other 3 computers that run flash player 10 just fine. I have run complete diagnostics on mt Thinkpad t500 and all checks out.
    Machine: Lenovo ThinkPad model 2242CTO
Processor: Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.53 Ghz
Operating System: Windows XP Professional SP 3

I had the same problem as previous described.  Some how I lost Flash Player.  The first indication I got was when I went to Utube site and tried to view aa clip.  It came back with an error saying I had java turned off or Flash Player was not installed.  It gave me link to install flash player and tried to install it and failed with memory written error.  The error message also said it was coming from Abode DLM. I was also at the point that a banner appeared that said an Adove system was trying to install and add on DLM.   This also caused IE to hang and it took quite sometime to close the IE to get out this hang condition with a bunch of error reports being sent to MIcrosoft.  After going to Sun System and testing my Java which it said was ok, I tried to install flash player.  Same thing happen.again.  I download Flash Player uninstall and ran it.  Tried install again.  Same results.  I found Adobe tech note how to uninstalled DLM.  I found none of the modules that it indicated should be deleted.  I tried installing Acrobat Reader which I already have on the system same error.  I found this forum and tried manual loading of Flash Player and that worked.  Now things are working ok except that if I try to download Flash player It still fails but the error has changed a little.  I hear the beep to approve the install of DLM addon  but IE fails cleanly and when I close the window said had the following error. I think the problem is DLM add on related.
    I am running IE V 8.0.6.001.18702

  • How do I fix Error Message = Out Of Memory Could Not Install or Delete Data"

I have looked all over the internet and there is a lot of discussion about WHY this happens and a lot of discusion about what to do in the future to avoid this from happening.
I need help with specific steps on how to delete the static image that is stuck on my desktop. The image is large and covers most of my screen. I have shut down, unplugged, let the machine rest....started up several times. Not working.
The error reads "OUT OF MEMORY - COULD NOT INSERT OR DELETE DATA"
    Thanks!

Probably you are running out of disk space. Can you interact with your Mac at all, or is the error  message preventing you from using Finder windows?
I'd try to boot into Save Mode: This will only load a rudimentary version of Max OS X, needing less space, and will clean some caches. The Start Up will tale longer, however.
When in Save Mode try to empty the Trash and to free as much disk space as you can, by deleting files.
How much free disk space do you have right now?
    See:
    http://www.wikihow.com/Start-Your-Mac-in-Safe-Mode
If you cannot access the FInder to free disk space, even in Save Boot Mode, post back.

I found some bug: CSCti76696 that resembles to this, but it is not yet publicly available in the bug toolkit...
Has anyone experienced simmilar problem during 4.0 installation?
    BR,
    Jasmina

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply Joseph!
Setting DEP to only protect critical Windows system files, and re-installing LMS afterwards, did not help. I'm still getting the error during installation.
I believe all other installation pre-requisites are fulfilled.
After the installation (both: the first and the second time), I noticed some additional problems:
e.g. Devices are successfully discovered, but after server reboot, all devices disappear from DCR!?!?
Trying to list All devices in DCR says that there are no devices (0 devices)...
Installation, and also LMS processes start after server reboot, seems to be quite slow (~90min for installation, and ~10min for LMS to become relatively functional after server reboot).
When trying to open "Inventory> Job Browsers> Device Credentials Verification"window, I get the error: "CDA0114: Operation failed while connecting to JRM. Make sure jrm and/or CTMJrmWrapper services are up and running."
I opened a TAC case, but no solution for now.
If anyone has some additional idea, it is most welcomed
Anyway, I will post a solution here if I get one from the TAC...
    Best regards,
    Jasmina

  • SAP installtion stopped - error cant create shared memory

    Dear All,
    Greetings!
We are trying to install SAP ECC 6.0 IDES system on Windows 2003 x64 Server and DB2 9.1, during the process of installation - in the step of Start Instance. The sapinst Gives Up! the process since the enqueue server is found in stopped state when the instance tries to start up.
I found the below given error message from the Developer Trace files of the enqueue server.

To note - we had a virus attack on the server recently and an Anti-Virus tool was used to clean the server, after that I found most of the SAP folders in Read-Only mode.
I suspect any causes of the same for the above mentioned ACCESS_DENIED error. Currently I have allocated 28GB of swap size, but the SAP instance is not able to create a shared memory from the same I hope.

Please help me with your suggestions for the workaround,
    - How will I be able to enable the swap size of the server to be used by the SAP instance?
    - Is this the effect of the anti-virus or an aspect in windows server to change the folders and files to read-only after a virus attack?
I have tried the possibilities of adding more shared memory, removing the shared memory and restarting the OS and assigning back the same, but these dint prove useful.
Kindly help me with your suggestions.
    Thank you
    Regards,
    Vineeth

    Hi,
I would suggest you to go to run > services.msc
now try to manually stop / start the SAP<SID>_<nr> services. are you able to start it properly? If you get error here, that means SAP services not able to start as it has permission problem.
login with <sid>adm & reregister the service by running sapstartsrv.exe in <drive>:\usr\sap\SID\sys\exe. after you give the parameters and press ok, wait for sometime for the 'success' message.
once its done, then start sap in MMC.
another thread talks about similar kind of problem.
Shared Memory Ceation error when we install NW04S Java Stack.

  • Adobe Flash Player (General install error) *****! Mach_Kernal missing?

Never had a problem updating Adobe Flash Player over the last maybe 10 times, It downloads to 50% and then bottoms out with a (general install error) message. So the I uninstalled and tried to re-install to no avail.
I don't know if I updated since updating to 10.8.5 but I read that the (Mach_Kernal) was found on people's (Documents) folder and some people deleted this but I don't remember if I ever got this when I updated. This was a blunder when updating to 10.8.5 and Apple was aware of it.
If that file isn't there is will cause Adobe Flash Player to fail.
I tried several Sudo commmands in Terminal to find the invisible (Mach_Kernel) file but when I type that in it just comes up with a message (No such thing found) Then I tried another Sudo command which would install it if it was missing and it comes up with the same thing (no such file or directory found).
Anyone know where this file resides and what folder it's in and can direct me exactly how to get to it to find out if it's still on my machine? As I said the Sudo commands came up with no results.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Thanks for your responses!

I don't know what you mean by clone your setup. Exactly what the whole OS? on an external drive. I do have an external drive but don't know how to back up the whole OS.
You use a separate partition (much preferably on a different physical drive) to make an exact copy of your current startup drive. At any time, you can choose to boot to it. Time Machine is a nice idea in that it automatically keeps various iterations of your data for you so you can go back to older versions of a document and such, but is (in my personal opinion) the clumsiest way possible to restore a hard drive.
You can create a clone with Disk Utility, SuperDuper!, or Carbon Copy Cloner. The last two are third party apps which can perform extra abilities to make clone backups easier. I use the registered version of SuperDuper! myself, but CCC works just as well.
Once you make a clone of your startup drive, it is just what it implies. You have an exact copy of whatever drive you clone to another drive/partition. So instead of going through the very roundabout way of restoring a drive by reinstalling the OS and attaching a Time Machine backup to the reinstall on the fly, you simply boot to your clone and copy it back. Done. Takes way, WAY less time to get back up and running.
But if I do a re-install from that it'll bring back my lost stuff but will also bring back the old crap again. So what good would it do.
Yes, that could be an issue, but at least you'd be back to your last Time Machine backup state.
Plus No! I searched the App store and OS X Mountain Lion woulnd't even come up.
Open the App Store app and click on Store > View My Account. Click on the Manage link to unhide redownloadable purchases. Unhide Mountain Lion so it appears under the Purchases tab again.
Where did you read that Apple fixed this 10.8.5 Kernal problem?
A few users noted it on these forums about a week after the bug was noticed. They said the 10.8.5 update and full download of ML were fixed. I haven't checked it myself. It's very easy to properly hide the mach_kernel file if necessary.
Enter this in Terminal, or copy/paste the line below into Terminal:
    sudo chflags hidden /mach_kernel
It will then ask for your admin password to complete the command. After that, the kernel should be hidden.
Well it wouldn't do me any good if I brought it back from Time Machine because the error is in the back up.
Yes, that is what would happen. I don't think you have any control over an OS/Time Machine reinstall. You will always be put back at your last backup state.
Furthemore if it's in your past purchases (You should't have to pay for it)! Why would I pay for it when it's in my past purchases with a download button?
You absolutely should not have to. Once purchased, it's yours. I've got Lion and Mountain Lion on bootable USB drives I made from the downloads. I can boot my Mac to those at any time and reinstall the OS. I'm going to do the same thing with Mavericks, just haven't done it yet.

Is this something that would prevent my install and cause these install errors under exit code 7?  The warning pertaining to dependent operation failure seems too generic to help at all.  I have been trying to get this program up and running for a week and my work is piling up, please help or advise.  My head is spinning!
Note: Please keep in mind that I am new to Mac OS. I always been stuck with a Windows PC until recently. Therefore some things are difficult for me to grasp at this point.
THANK YOU FOR ANY AND ALL HELP!SOS...Cant Install CS5, Exit Code 7, memory requirement not met, etc.

  • AE CC Error: "unable to allocate memory"

Continually get this error: "unable to allocate memory. Decrease the memory requirements for the rendering of this frame, or install more ram."
I have been working on the same AE project-- 30mb project mostly full of animated shape layers. While working in this project this last week I keep getting the same error on both my macbook pro (8gb ram) and my imac desktop (16 gb ram) which makes me believe the issue is not my computer(s).
I initially got the error using AE CC version 13.0.2. After reading different forums someone suggested downloading the updated 13.1 version which fixed some bugs. I did that on my macbook pro and within minutes of working still got the same error.
Then I down-saved the AE project to CS6, started working on it again in CS6 and quickly received the same error.
I've also cleaned out my cache folders, but still nothing.
I have spent hours investigating this issue and am at a complete loss on what to do. Super frustrating when working on a tight deadline!!
    Can anyone help?!!

The project contains a lot of stuff:
-Shape layers with repeaters to create animated sprites and animated backgrounds
-created wiggly text using precomped textures with fractal noise, displacement maps and posterize time effects applied. Here is the tutorial I recreated: Jittery Type After Effects Tutorial - YouTube
-imported mini AE projects of different animated objects that I used in past projects: book with pages flipping, dollar bills flipping in stack, coins stacking up, box unfolding.
-More effects used- fill, drop shadow, bunch of track mattes, turbulent displacement, hue/saturation, exposure, cc bender- on flipping pages in book,
    -Lots of precomps mostly 1920 x 1080 some bigger like 1920 x 3000
Would it be possible or helpful if I just sent my project and files for you to inspect?

i have downloaded OS X Yosemite using recovery from boot but while installing error occuring showing unable to extract essential.pkg so can't install. problem is i have already formatted my drive and dont have any os right now. only the downloaded new os x yosemite in the os x base system. please help

Please try again after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already taken.
    Step 1
    Reset your computer’s PRAM.
    Step 2
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications of the machine.
    Step 3
Back up all data to at least two different storage devices, if you haven't already done so. One backup is not enough to be safe. The backups can be made with Time Machine or with Disk Utility. Preferably both.
Erase and install OS X. This operation will destroy all data on the startup volume, so you had be better be sure of the backups.
    Step 4
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider to have the machine tested.

  • Numerous system log errors such as: "kernel[0]: ... dyld_shared_cache_x86_64': owned by uid=89 instead of 0" ... what is the underlying problem here?

    My system.log shows numerous errors such as: "kernel[0]: ... dyld_shared_cache_x86_64': owned by uid=89 instead of 0" ...
What is the underlying problem here?

Are you trying to install anything by any chance??
update_dyld_shared_cache ensures that dyld's shared cache is up-to-date. This tool is normally only run by Apple's Installer and Software Update, as they are the only official ways for OS dylibs to be updated. But if for some reason you used another mechanism to alter an OS dylib, you should manually run update_dyld_shared_cache.

  • Opening attachments - ERROR MSG - 'Not enough memory or disc space'

    Hi
I'm trying to open a word .doc from my Entourage email account and it comes up with the error message ' Not enough memory or disc space'. My hard drive has 119 GB free - so I'm thinking it may be a memory issue.
How do I deal with this/clean up my computer??
I just turned my computer on for the day and got this message. The only programs I've got running is Safari, entourage, word and adobe reader.
    Thanks.
    Margie

Have you tried Epson support for that E-Web Print application?
Also, I am curious if Epson installed an add-on for Firefox for that E-Web Print application? ''Thus prompting you to ask about it in the Firefox support forum.''
At this point the best I can offer you is a suggestion to reset your printer prefs in Firefox to see if that will help with that issue.
