Sol9 X86 copy mini root / nothing happens

Hi there,
I install Sol9 X86 on Dual-Xeon. Solaris 8 worked fine. That happened:
Copying mini-root to local disk.# \
First I "hear" that there will something be copyied to disk, but than the slash rotates and nothing more happens.
Any idea or experience?

You are right. I would say ... this is really buggy. Sure, with Disk 2 I can install the system. But now, it doesn't boot anymoore. Now the /etc/bootrc won't be found. First I thought there was something wrong with the devices. But the devices seems to be ok. I can install Solaris 8 without any problems even from the installation disk.
I paid 20$ for the download. I can't accept that I can't change the OS to a new release. I don't need functionality like browsing web, or some unnecessary playground. I need a system that I can install without compiling a kernel. I don't want to think about hardware problems. I also plan to buy the workgroup licenses.
Maybe you will ask, why I use X86? I have 6 powerfull Xeonsystems. I want to use the new pam-ldap modules.
I think about, if it is my job to check the startinstall and dependent scripts or what is going wrong inside the installation.
So, what should I do? In one weak I have to present the new company infrastructur. Should I kick Solaris?
I am really disappointed and angry (not to you, but on the product).
Do you have an idea?

Hi,
This is how App Store app shows now when an app is downloading. If you cannot download anything, go to Settings > iTunes & App Store, remove your Apple ID, and set it again. That should work.

Using Target disk mode from hard drive which is starting to fail, when I move files, I get a preparing to copy message but nothing happens. Any ideas?

Hello, i have a MacBook Pro. The hard drive is failing to such an extent that I can't currently use the computer, only things like utility mode etc. I have connected it unto my iMac and using a Firewire in target disk mode, I am attempting to move files across using that mode. The HD of the Macbook Pro appears in the IMac devices menu and I copy and paste the appropriate folders/files but as I do this I get a progress bar which says "preparing to copy" but then nothing appears to happen. Any ideas on what to do? Is there a password or other issue here that I am over-looking. Perhaps the hard drive of my macbook pro is so corrupted that I can't move files over. Any help would be great?

Try moving smaller groups of files. I' guessing that you don't have a backup huh?

I am unable to upgrade Firefox. I have tried to download over mine and nothing happens. What to do?

I only use Firefox and it constantly pops up that I need to download the newer version. When I click on yes, it just sits, even for hours, with the green bar, nothing happening. I turn off the computer, after many hours, boot up again, still no upgrade. I have tried so many times. I have tried several times to start all over and download the Firefox 4 over my version of Firefox, it shows that it is downloading, and when I turn on my my computer again, I get the same pop up message that I need to really need to upgrade to Firefox 3.6 (or whatever it is), so it is not working. What do I do now? I am not a computer genius.

Yes, I tried that.   The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size.   I opened that destination folder from quick time from where it said select image sequence.   I clicked on the first one and opened it.   The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go.   When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie.   The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
    To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation? Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.

Survey Builder: trying to copy a survey but nothing happens

I am trying to copy a survey. I click on the <browse icon>, then select an item from the list and then click the Copy button but nothing happens. The Edit and Delete buttons work but the Copy button does not. When I click the Copy button, the form does a submit and the Name field clears. Nothing else happens. Should I be doing something else to make the Copy function work?
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

To copy a survey, poll, or test:
1. In the Edit section of the Survey Builder portlet, click the radio button next to the type of survey you want to copy, either Survey, Poll, or Test.
2. Click the Browse icon () next to the Name field.
This opens a list with the names of all the available surveys of the type you indicated in step 1. For example, if you clicked the radio button next to Poll, then clicked the Browse icon, the resulting window will list all of the polls that are available to you. But it will not contain the names of any surveys or tests.
3. From the resulting list, select the survey, poll, or test you want to copy.
This closes the list window and populates the Name field.
4. Click the Copy button.
5. In the To field in the resulting window, enter the name you want to assign to the copy.
6.Click the Copy button.
7.In the resulting confirmation dialog, click OK.
Steps 1 to 4 work but we cannot get past step 5 because the resulting window with the To field does not appear after the Copy button is clicked.

Three attempts after reboot give same result. Leaving it to retry for an hour does not give success. Any ideas what is preventing the install from proceeding. This machine had Solaris8 x86 on it previously.

Solaris 9 x86 has changed the default for ATA DMA mode: on S9 x86 it's
enabled while it was disabled on S8 x86.
I'd try to change the value of the "ata-dma-enabled" property from 1 -> 0 in the
last DCA menu, in the boot tasks submenu. Maybe that'll help...

I have an ipad that has photos on it, and am trying to get those photos to an SDHC card. I put the card in my camera connection kit device and went to the slideshow option and selected copy and nothing happened. Am I using the wrong method?

Also keep in mind which formats can be added:
You can add audio files that are in AAC, MP3, WAV, AIFF, Apple Lossless, or Audible.com (.aa) format. If you have unprotected WMA content, iTunes for Windows can convert these files to one of these formats.

Yeah, I'm having the same exact problem - It seems that the thunderbolt minidisplay port is only able to output the analog VGA signal, not the digital signal to support DVI and HDMI. This is a bug that came up after installing 10.7.1. I bought my macbook air with 10.7 on it, upgraded it to 10.7.1 as soon as I got it, so I have never been able to use hdmi or dvi with my macbook air. This is an extremely frustrating problem for me, I used HDMI on a daily basis with my PC. I have spent many hours at the genius bar running diagnostic tests so Apple can get as much information as possible to create a fix for this problem. I have been emailing tech support for 3 or so weeks now, they keep saying that they are working on a fix and it should be out soon, but 10.7.2 has come and gone and I still have no HDMI functionality with my MacBook Air!

to get to the Detect Displays button you have to hold down the Option key and the button appears.

Thank you for responding to my question, above, this morning. And thank you for the link about PhotoStream. It was helpful in understanding how Photostream works, but, unfortunately, doesn't really reference my problem since it assumes that the photos were originated on one of my Apple devices. The photos I want to copy to my iPhone are in an album on iPhoto but I had originally downloaded them from my camera to my iMac then moved them to the album. The confusing thing for me is that they are 3 of a dozen photos takern over a period of 12 years on different digital cameras (two were taken on film and later scanned and eventually moved to the album in iPhoto) and all but three of the photos moved to photostream and are on my iPhone. It is those three, which were all taken on digital cameras and moved to the album, which I can't get to move to Photostream.

I downloaded a copy of Creative Cloud desktop but it says that my Muse is up to date. It was last updated in May but you have a new update today and it will not update. I thought maybe I am not suppose to have the Creative Cloud update because all I have is the individual app Muse and the photography program. So I uninstalled the CC desktop. Then when I open Muse it says I need the CC desktop to help with the update. So I get stopped either way. Now I also had a Pre-Release Muse on my computer and I don't know if that complicated things. Please advise.

All future installs/updates of Muse (and most other Adobe apps) are through the Creative Cloud desktop app. Thus you do need to have it installed.

I have the same problem on the latest iTunes software and Windows 7. My window is maximzed and I do not see any tab for photos. Seems related to a recent update (IOS7?) as this was there - at least before the very big change to the interface.

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.
