Solaris 10 AXi PS2 KBD error

I'm trying to install Solaris 10 on an AXi board with a PS2 keyboard but the installation restarts with the error msg kb_ps20. Any ideas?

you are right... but generaly I use updatemenager and it seam to be OK, I check several time and no new patches are available with updatemanager. No errors. Generaly it works fine. I check again without updatemenager from command line and I see that there are several patches are not applied. Oh my God. I try to applied patches manualy and this works fine. After I try pca to apply all other missing patches.
Strange.
Now sapint works fine.

Solaris 10 compile samba4 error

Hi all
First, sorry for my poor English.
I am trying to compile Samba 4 on Solaris 10 ( Sunfire v250 machine)
Here are list of things I did:
+) got errors about option "-mt" of gcc so I wrote a short shell script to replace CC ( remove option "-mt")
+) then I set environment varibles: YACC=binson, LEX=flex, MAKE=gmake
+) I also set CFLAGS,LDFLAGS (LDFLAGS is set to get strsep function, not present in Solaris)
+)Now I got errors:
GCC: bin/subsystem/*.o : No such file or directory
"*" means a lots of file.
Have you ever compiled Samba4 on Solaris 10, please help me!

Did you try to compile with default options? ie., without env variables YACC, LEX, LDFLAGS, etc.,
Also did you try to compile with Sun Studio compilers? In case if you do not have the suite installed, you can get it for free from: http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/cc/downloads/index.jsp.
Sometimes Sun Studio provides more diagnostic error messages than GCC.

RS480M-IL: PS2 post error

Hello everyone,
I just recently purchased a RS480M-IL. It is working fine; however, I'm getting a PS2 mouse error not found. I'm using a USB mouse. While an adapter from USB to PS2 would fix the problem. I don't understand while would this be an error?

Since Bios 1.4 was released in late August, I assume you flashed to that release. Did the problem occur with the prior Bios? Did you remember to disable the "Flash Bios Protection" function with "Boot Sector Protection" Bios setting and change the Bios Write Protect Jumper for flash? Also, it's sometimes best to clear CMOS after a flash. Did you clear CMOS?
I downloaded your Manual to see what options are there for Mouse and PS/2 vs. USB. I see two of interest. Have you tried alternate settings?
Resume by PS/2 Mouse [Disabled/Enabled]
USB Device Legacy Support [Disabled/Enabled/Auto]

Oracle 8.1.7 Solaris 2.6 Install error

I'm trying to install 8.1.7 on a Solaris 2.6 box (10K domain, with all patches installed according to readme file). The install of the client part works great, but when I go and install the server I get an error saying that make of /opt/oracle/8.1.7/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk has failed.
When looking in the install/make.log I get the following error:

I think 6.2 is easier, just follow read me instruction, on redhat 7.0 you must run patch to downgrade glibc from 2.2 to 2.1

Solaris 10 Management Console error

I found an error in the new Solaris 10 x86 (11/04).
I downloaded the free Software Express for Solaris x86 Platform (11/04) and installed it on a Dell 8600 P4 1.8 system. Fresh install of all software excluding OEM on a new hard drive. I was logged in as Root. Started the Solaris Management Console to do some initial NFS mounts. Expanded Storage->Mounts and Shares from within the Navigation window. In this same Navigation window clicking on �Mounts� gives the following error: �Unable to read security authorizations because of an unexpected error from the management server. CIM_ERR_FAILED�.
Work around for now was to do a manual �mount� editing �/etc/vfstab�.

I've the same problem, but I'm a Newbie to Unix. Unfortunately the Guides from the sun-homepage assume the Management Console Server to work. It would be very helpful for me to get some overview at the file-structure in Solaris 10 - best including were to find witch configuration-file and discription of their syntax. I could also do workarounds for my configuration-needs with that.
Ok, rtfm, one could say, but perhaps it's no problem and someone who reads this can simply post a link to such an overwiev.

I have applied SAP Note 11016021 and the error changed, now it says:

Idsconfig/Solaris 9:update schema error

I'm currently trying get setup iDS 5.1 on Solaris 9 so that i can authenticate Solaris 8/9 against it. When i run idsconfig i get ERROR: update of schema failed! The logs show nothing useful, can anyone help please?

I am having the same problem. ALL idsconfigs fail. I tried the CUSTOM installation, TYPICAL, and EXPRESS. All with the same results of idsconfig failing. Nothing in the log files either.

Installation, Solaris 8, DSL, Hostname Error!

My domain name registerd in www.dotser.com
DOMAIN.com
Using my friends BSD and Linux as DNS servers for the above domain.
with HOST.DOMAIN.com
Using DSL service with statics IPs.
I can set up my Linux server, but not Solaris 8.
I can't get pass Solaris Web Start pages with internet enable!
Heres the information, I punched in for S8
Host name : HOST
DHCP: No
IPv6: No
IP address: DSL static IP
Netmask: DSL Subnet Mask IP number
Name Service: DNS, clicked
Domain Name: DOMAIN.com
Server IP Address: Primary DNS IP
from DSL provider
Search Domain: Blank
I keep getting error messages , can get it work. ;( It said there is error in name service.
I can do a full install, except making it online.

I've just found the following in another thread:
The workaround for the bugID 6221832 (java being in another path than the default /usr/j2se/bin/ for Patch Manager 2.0 on Solaris 8) is to edit the pprosetup and pprosvc scripts
from /usr/sbin/pprosvc :
JAVACMD=/usr/j2se/bin/java
edit pprosetup and pprosvc scripts file and set JAVACMD locale variable to newly java installed path and launch smpatch get command again
Thank you. I've editted both scripts and changed the JAVACMD variable to be ${JAVA_HOME}/bin/java and now everything is working.

There's a possibility that the cache is corrupted. Try clearing the cache and reload.

[Python on SOLARIS 8 Sparc] Libs error...

I'm relativly new with Solaris 8 but i have much more experience with Linux and derivated operating systems.
My problem is that when i want to start python, i get the following error:

It says :

Benchmarking problem ORiON solaris 10 - non test error occured

Hi,
I am running a whole bunch of ORION jobs in sequence against raw LUNs on an EMC storage using Solaris 10.
This to identify the performance at different read/write percentage and random/sequential IO patterns.
Once in a while, in the middle of testing the following appears :
Non test error occurred
Orion exiting
After which the test aborts.
I am trying to investigate the cause for this error, the DMESG and /var/adm/messages left turned up nothing however.
The strange thing is that the next test using the same amount of LUNs but only a difference in random or sequential pattern (or read/write percentage) works just fine.
Does anybody have any reference to what are possible causes of "non test error"

Trying to install CF8 on a Solaris 10 box (with zones). The binary installer gives the following error:
