  • Need help: When installing iTunes on Windows 7, installer is stopping at "Installing Apple Application Support". Can anyone help....this is the first time I am using an Apple product and it sure is not very user friendly!!!

I am trying to install itunes but the installer is not going beyond the "Installing Apple application support" stage,

Do you have any of these programs installed?
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
I had the trouble that if an old #4 or #5 was installed, a full iTunes install did not work.
If you have any of the above installed, try this,
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • Printer Software Installer has stopped working

Product: HP Laser Jet M1005 MFP
    OS: Windows 7, 64-bit
    Notebook ACER , Aspire 5349, Intel Celeron CPU B800 @ 1.50 GHz
(new notebook, old printer - printer worked well on Windows XP)
I downloaded driver ljM1005-HB-pnp-x64-en. Driver had been extracted and setup started.
Installation started and after some initialization (~10 sec) it kept writing:
Preinstalling the driver files...  or Copying files to hard drive...  (switching approx. once per second) after a while (~ 20 sec)
Printer Software Installer has stopped working. Windows tried to find solution but did not find anything.
I TRIED ALREADY EVERYTHING. I used patch for AMD processors (of course, did not work); I have Windows installer up to date; I disabled Internet Explorer 9.0 (I cannot uninstall and iether can I step back to IE 8.0 since notebook is brand new); There is no windows driver preinstalled for this printer and there is no similar driver working.
Driver cannot be installed and printer does not work.
    Please, help.

  • TREX Installation, Error in phase - Install TREX web resources and finalize

    Hello,
    Platforms:
    SO - Win 2008 (R2) X64
During the last phase "Install TREX web resources and finalize instance" in installation process of TREX 7.1, it show me a weird error...
It seems that was some problem during the creation of sap start service of this new instance... but that is weird because I checked at services.msc and that service SAPTSM_02 and nothing seems wrong with it, it seems that was well created and it is in Started mode!... I checked firewall settings (all of them are in OFF status), I also checked CUA settings (is stopped)...
I searched for this error and I found the following SDN forum:

During this phase the SAPInst window show some information and in there I see this two:

    Hello Arjun Venkateswarlu,
1).Is your Windows Firwall is enabled ? Disable the windows Firewall and also restart SAPinst
    - As I said the windows firewall is disable (OFF)
2). Make sure that <sid>adm belongs to the local admins or Better provide the domain admin rights to the id which you are using for installation if it is domain installation.
    - All the created users during this installation belongs to local admins. This isn´t a domain installation!
3). Try Restarting the installation by stopping and starting Windows and restart SAPINST and coninue Old Installation again.
    - I already did that... but it continues to show me the same error!
    Any other tip?
    Kind regards,
    JDimas

  • No Disk meet the criteria for Solaris installation

Hi all, I have a problem when trying to install Solaris 8 (Intel) on my PC. There are some funny things happened while installing the OS.
1.) My motherboard does not support booting from CD-ROM, so I downloaded a Device Assistant Boot Disk to boot it up. Then I use dd.exe to make the boot disk from the image, I have tried many times that after creating the boot disk, this boot disk will contain 512 bytes of bad sector. So why?
2.) After using this boot disk to boot up and install the OS, before entering to the detection of the bus type stuff (still on the white screen), at the bottom of the screen, it says "ata_command select failed ... ...", what does this mean?
3.) When the system go back to the white screen with language selection, I choose English (which is 1), and the system try to find my hard disk, but it failed and says "No Disk meet the criteria for Solaris installation" with a new line saying "installation documenation found.". So what is happening?
    Appreciate for any help.

  • Solaris 8 x86 won't install

Please for give my ignorance, I know nothing about unix. I am taking a course on Solaris fundementals in a couple of weeks and I am trying to get a jump on the class by having a working version by the time it starts.
I just DL'd the CD images and burned the disks. I get to the part of the install where it leaves the command line and gets to the shell/window phase.
    A message comes up stating:
"No disks that meat the criteria in the Solaris installer documentation found
Please check the system or try another instalation option"
The PC I am attempting to install onto is made of pretty common components: Celeron II 533, Asus BX-133, 576 Megs PC-133 SDRAM, 3dfx voodoo 3 PCI, 3C905, 2 Wester Digital Hard Drives and a HiVal 52X CDROM.
The system has previously had Windows 2000 and Redmond Linux on it and they both ran with no problems. I used dos fdisk to remove the linux partitions before attempting to install Solaris.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Chris

Haha, I know that problem that allmost made me go crazy when I tried it again and again...
I think you tried booting from the Solaris installation CD did you?
Try booting from Solaris CD 1 / 2.
That worked without any problems for me even though I have a SCSI RAID System and thought that controller caused the problems.
And: Remove any partition on the harddrive before you install.

  • Hard coded links in R12.1.1 SOLARIS 10 64 bit Rapid Install stack

    Hi,
Just a heads up for anyone using the Solaris 10 64 bit Rapid Install.
    I am doing a 11.5.10.2 > 12.1.1 upgrade on Solaris 10 64-bit.
On my Rapid Install delivered R12.1.1 tech stack there are some hard coded links to Oracle test server files in the 10.1.2 and 10.1.3 lib32 directories. Which is not a good thing - it stops little things like adpatch working!
    e.g.
    $ cd $ORACLE_HOME/lib32
    $ ls -l ldflags

This leads to libclntsh.so not being generated and errors like this when running adpatch:
ld.so.1: adpatch: fatal: /*/*/*/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/lib/libclntsh.so.10.1: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
    Killed
The fix is to recreate the soft links to point to the correct local mount points/paths
How on earth did that slip through?
I raised an SR on this issue and got no where at all. I only got to the bottom of it when I noticed the /d4/R12 path and googled that. I then found Vikram's article at http://oracleappstechnology.blogspot.com/2009/09/r1211-apache-wont-start.html and realised that it was the cause of my problems too.

    Hello All,
I faced the same situation. This is what I did to fix the issue on all the Tiers that has the Applications Tech Stack.
    cd "applications install base"
    find ./inst ./apps -type l -exec ls -l {} \; | grep d4
Set your applications environment appropriately using APPS<instance>_<host>.env under the APPL_TOP
    cd $ORACLE_HOME
    /bin/rm ./bin/lbuilder
    /bin/rm ./bin/webcachectl
    /bin/rm ./lib32/ldflags
    /bin/rm ./lib32/libocci.so
    /bin/rm ./lib/libnavhoa.a
    /bin/rm ./lib/hsdb_inf.so
    /bin/rm ./lib/hsdb_odbc.so
    /bin/rm ./lib/hsdb_oing.so

I'm tring to install this on an IBM netfinity 5100 server which has ultra 160 scsi drives.I get this message
"No Disks that meet the citeria in the Solaris installer documentation found. Please check the system or try another installation option #"
Please help me. I new to UNIX and SOLARIS.Thanks!

You are probably using the INSTALL CD that comes with Solaris x86.
Don't use it but use the Software CD 1/1 to boot and install the system instead. The INSTALL CD is supposed to be used on a completely blank system (no other OS's) although even there I think Software CD 1/1 does the job.
Also, if you are new to Solaris I advice you to get the FAQ (you can find it on e.g. http://www.science.uva.nl/pub/solaris/solaris2- it should be really helpfull during the first few weeks/months on Solaris
