Please help me friends

Hello,
I have done some further investigation on my problem.
I found out, that the problem is caused by the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 that comes with the
Microsoft Visual Studio installation.
Has anyone experienced the same problem or give me some advice how to fix that ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Elmar

  • G5 crashes after installation of Crucial RAM

I recently upgraded my RAM from its original 512 MB to 2G with modules from Crucial. The first pair I received did not work when installed together although they appeared to work individually in each slot separately. I sent them back to Crucial and they sent me another "build." Installed the second pair and the computer worked fine for 10 days. Now the fan surges, applications and the system crash continually making the machine very frustrating to work with. Genius at the Apple store said it's one of the following: bad RAM, failing HD or failing motherboard (I did not take the machine in to the store for examination). I've run the disk utilities from the start up disk successfully and repaired minor issues on the HD. Are my next steps to go back and test each memory module in each slot, one by one, to see what happens? If it's a problem with the RAM, why did it work fine for 10 days and then start causing problems? I hate to revert to 512 MB RAM but the crashing 2 GB is making me nuts! Are there any better suppliers of RAM than Crucial? Any insight would be appreciated.

I finally gave up on the Crucial RAM and put the original equipment 512 MG module back in. Now that doesn't work in either slot. The machine will not even start up with the 512 MG RAM in. I took the 512 MG out, put one Crucial 1 GB module back in. Sometimes the machine starts up, sometimes it doesn't. If it does start, it's incredibly unstable and will crash retrieving mail in Mail or starting up Firefox.
What has happened to my G5 now? Why will it not run with its original chip? Have I somehow damaged the RAM slots by putting in/taking out RAM? (I've been so careful.) I've been without my computer now for over a week and have no other ideas how to troubleshoot. Do I have to spend many $$ at the Apple store to fix this 6 year old machine? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've used Apple computers for 20 years and have never been afraid of my machine before. Now my hands are tied and I can't use it.

  • Crashes after Leopard install

Hey gang. Here's the scenario. I have installed a 3rd internal hard drive to my Power Mac G4 AGP series Mac. It is running off a new Sonnet Tempo Serial ATA controller card. After a lot trouble just trying to get Leopard to "see" the new drive as an option to install it on, it FINALLY has! I had to install some older firmware from Sonnet that helped to do so. SO, it installed Leopard onto my new Seagate 500gig drive but when it says to reboot to continue, it starts rebooting and then just suddenly shuts completely down...like a complete failure or something. I re-installed and still the same thing. Any thoughts?
you guys have helped me get this far, hopefully we can finally break through to the other side!! Allllmost there! : )

Well, it seems that the main problem was with the firmware from the new Sonnet PCI controller card. After talking to a rep, they said many PowerMac G4 users had better luck with Leopard using the an older version of firmware. 5.1.3 instead of 5.3.1. But before I found all that out I had cloned the partition that was running my current OSX (10.3.9) to the new Seagate 500gig drive in hopes that I would be able to install Leopard after doing so but it wasn't until installing the older firmware that I was able to actually install Leopard onto the drive. The problem was that it was crashing after installation when I would reboot. I wiped the "clone" off of the new Seagate, re-initialized the drive and it worked fine after that! So apparently, something did not like the cloning even though it "installation was successful". Don't know if that helps but I hope so. thanks again for all of your help!

  • How to Add a Physical Interface After Installation in Solaris 10

How to Add a Physical Interface After Installation in Solaris 10
    Hi Java Specialist,
I am trying to setup a network interface with the following steps on a new fresh Solaris 10 installation using the instruction titled How to Add a Physical Interface After Installation in Solaris 10 3/05 ONLY from http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19253-01/816-4554/esxhb/index.html:
    1. # ifconfig lo0 plumb up
    2. # ifconfig lo0 10.56.8.101 netmask 255.255.240.0. This was the working Windows DHCP environment prior to installing Solaris
    10 on top of it.
    3. # Added saturn to /etc/hostname.lo0.
    4. # Added 10.56.8.101 to /etc/inet/hosts
    5. # Added 10.56.0.0     255.255.240.0 to /etc/inet/netmasks
    6.# reboot
However, the following errors kept recurring:
svcs –xv …. unable to qualify my own domain name,
    failed with exit status 69.
Any idea on what other steps have I missed? I was hoping to only do step 3 – 6 for the change to apply permanently.
    Many thanks,
    Jack

Hi Java Specialist,... in a Solaris forum?
    1. # ifconfig lo0 plumb upThe loopback connection (your lo0)is NOT a physical interface. There are no hardware components for it. Nor can I think of any reason why it should ever be anything other than the default 127.0.0.1
Use your favorite Internet search site (such as Google, Bing, Yahoo) to learn more about it.
    2. # ifconfig lo0 10.56.8.101 netmask 255.255.240.0. This was the working Windows DHCP environment ...I have no idea how a nonexistent software construct gets a DHCP address in a MS Operating System, unless you are confusing this with the "Microsoft Loopback Adapter" which is an utterly different concept. Again, go see what Google tells you.
    <br>
    <br>
    <br>
... completely unrelated to configuring an IP...
unable to qualify my own domain nameAgain, search the Internet or even search these forums with that string of words.
Go back through your two most recent posts and read the responses again.
They seem to both be on the same topic as this new one -- configuring an IP on something.
How to initialize new IP address on secondary interface permanently
How to change IP address permanently on Solaris 10
When you've done all that, then come back and tell us what you are actually trying to do.

  • Everything keeps freezing/crashing after Mavericks installation on MacBook Pro

Everything keeps freezing/crashing after Mavericks installation on MacBook Pro.
It started with Photoshop, then Safari, and now the Kinect sensor.
Mavericks is the worse thing that happened to me I have a thesis project to work on!
    What can I do?
How can I remove Mavericks and go back to Mountain Lion?
    Thanks

    Hey StephSassine,
First, I would run through these steps:
Your computer’s startup disk may not have enough free disk space. To make disk space available, you can move files to another disk and then delete files you no longer need on the startup disk:
    Increase disk space
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10677
If that doesn't work, you may need to repair your computer’s disk in Disk Utility:
Choose Apple menu > Software Update to make sure you have the latest version of Mac OS X.
Software updates sometimes change a file’s permissions to improve security, so updating your software can solve some permissions problems.
Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in Launchpad.
Select the disk you want to check.
    Click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk Permissions to test and repair permissions.
via: Disk Utility 12.x: Repair disk permissions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH5821
If that doesn't help resolve the issue, you can revert to a previous OS X version:
OS X Mavericks: Revert to a previous OS X version
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14176
    Sincerely,
    Delgadoh

  • Yosemite won't install, always crash after two minutes of installation.

My hard drive only got two months, and Mavericks always work fine. I got a Macbook Pro I7 with 8gb ram and 1gb of hard drive. Yosemite installation always crash after one or two minutes. And said scripts cannot save in the .OSInstallSandboxPathfolder, 'because there's a file with the same name.
    Any ideas?

    Hello rialebR,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post it looks like perhaps the installer file did not download properly.  I'd like you to please delete the current installer from your launchpad, and then download the installer again from the Mac App Store.
    Enter Launchpad.
Click and hold on an icon until you see all icons jiggle.
Click the "x" button in the upper-left of the Mac App Store app icon you want to delete.
Note: If you do not see an "x" button, either the app is not from the Mac App Store or you are logged in as a standard user.
Click "Delete" in the confirmation dialog to delete the app.
OS X Lion: How to remove Mac App Store apps that appear in Launchpad
    Mac App Store
    Open Mac App Store.
Click Purchases at the top of the window. Your purchased apps will appear.
    Click Install or Download.
    Download past purchases
    Take care,
    Alex H.

  • My computer crashed after an attempt to upgrade to Yosemite. I can't quit the installer and my MacBook keeps on restarting

My computer crashed after an attempt to upgrade to Yosemite. I can't quit the installer and my MacBook keeps on restarting

I Have a 2008 Macbook Pro 15". It was running issue free until I upgraded to Yosemite. Now my logic board is fried and apple will not fix it. It started with mail accounts unable to send mail, just had to delete accounts and re- install to fix that. But, at the same time as the download, I started intermittently getting a green tint over the screen along with a snowy static like an old TV set. Fearing that my download was corrupt, I re- installed Yosemite over-writing the previous version .  The green haze kept coming and going, but I also started getting strobe style white flashes in boxes in the 4 corners of my monitor. I had to do power button forced shutdowns because of pointer and keyboard function failure. Apple Genius desk told me it appeared to be a logic board failure but my computer was too old for them to work onand referred me to a Mac Specialist Center. I was told by both places that Apple installed defective logic boards back then due to changing solder formula. They extended product warranty by adding 1 yr but that still expired in 2012. I tried to post a warning on Mac Forums twice about Yosemite being a poison pill to certain platforms and my posts were pulled. The second attempt was responded to in my personal email account stating that if I don't stop posting derogatory comments, I will be blocked from forum. I am just trying to insert warnings in posts where I can. They haven't discovered that yet. Spread the word!

  • System (NT4) Crash after Oracle8i installation

My operating system is Win NT4 with Service pack 6a.
Please note that I have loaded Oracle8i Enterprise Edition SUCCESSFULLY on my machine.
But after installation of Oracle8i My system often crashes and goes into memory dump.
My system configurations are are sufficient enough for loading of Oracle8i Enterprise edition.
Can any one help me out in this.

  • SqlPlus always crash after Oracle Client 8 installation

    Hi
I have installed Oracle 9 client to connect to a Oracle 7 server
The connection test seems to be good, but after installation SqlPlus always crash, in the event viewer i can see that sqlplusw.exe generate an error in oracommon9.dll.
Can I connect by ado.net to oracle server without oracle client?
    Thanks in advance
    Giorgio

    Hi,
In regards of metalink note 207303.1, a client 9i which connect to a version 7 database was never been supported, there are too many known problems without workaround either patches.
    Nicolas.

    Any ideas?

Sometimes, it's just easier and faster
to just start all over and re-install,
particularly when you have only a fresh install on your system.
This time, do not choose to include all the optional "documentation"
(that's what is held on CD5).
I have never found a reason to ever read that documentation so I stopped installing it.
... or you could download and burn a copy of CD5 and use it when prompted.
