Solaris 10 - patch for new DST 2007 changes

I am trying to track down the one patch I need for the new standard for daylight savings time date changes that took effect in 2007. Each time I get one patch and read the readme file, it tells me I need another patch for the U.S. Energy Policy Act for 2005. I am just about to install Solaris 10 patch 119689-07. I don't need any other patch updates, just the bare minimum new DST patch. Thanks for your help.

119689-07 is obsoleted by 118836. http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-21-119689-07-1
118836-36 is latest rev of this patch -- the kernel patch, whic has latest timezone data for the OS
You'll need to make sure java has latest tz data, too:
http://java.sun.com/javase/timezones/
As far as I know, these are the bare minimums for a system to function properly re: latest DST schedule

  • J2EE upgrade to accommodate DST 2007 changes

    Hi,
    We are running EP 6.0 SP2P4 on J2EE 6.2. When accommodating DST 2007 changes, we found out as per the note 983147:
    The 6.20 J2EE Engine is based on JDK 1.3 and is out of support end of 2006. Therefore no fix will be provided for this JDK version. So all customers running on 6.20 J2EE Engine must switch to higher versions before march 2007.
    Thus you have to 1) switch to 6.40 and 2)have jdk version 1.4.2_11 or
    higher to have the automatic fix of Daylight savings.
    HELP! - If you can provide some pointers to any documentation on how to upgrade this, or if there is any workaround, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks!

    Hello Nirmal,
    Please read the upgrade documentation that you can find in the following path:
    http://service.sap.com/instguides -> SAP Netweaver -> SAP Netweaver 2004 (or SAP Netweaver 2004s) -> Upgrade
    And about the minimum JDK version to use, you will find information in the SAP Note below:
       723909 Java VM settings for J2EE 6.40/7.0
    Inside this note you will find the notes for each Operating System. This notes tell you what is the minimum version to use depending on the Operating System used.

  • Daylight savings patch for US - Canada 2007

    I see that Apple supposedly patched DST for USA-Canada 2007.
    However, I went to a tech article that suggested using a
    foo$ zdump -v /etc/localtime | grep 2007
    command in terminal.
    I got the following which indicates that DST is still the old way:
    /etc/localtime Sun Apr 1 09:59:59 2007 UTC = Sun Apr 1 01:59:59 2007 PST isdst=0
    /etc/localtime Sun Apr 1 10:00:00 2007 UTC = Sun Apr 1 03:00:00 2007 PDT isdst=1
    /etc/localtime Sun Oct 28 08:59:59 2007 UTC = Sun Oct 28 01:59:59 2007 PDT isdst=1
    /etc/localtime Sun Oct 28 09:00:00 2007 UTC = Sun Oct 28 01:00:00 2007 PST isdst=0
    What gives?
    Running 10.4.8 with all updates done.

    Well I fixed it the hard way - manually doing the following:
    The localtime file is actually just an alias to another file, as seen here (line break added for narrower display):
    foo$ ls -lah /etc/localtime
    lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 37B Jan 8 06:19 /etc/localtime ->
    /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Vancouver
    To fix the problem, you need to update the source file:
    Go to this nih.gov server and grab the file tzdata2007a.tar.gz. This filename may change over time, as new updates are added to the database. Just copy and paste the FTP URL into Safari to start.
    Extract the contents of the archive to a local folder (Stuffit Expander does a fine job if you don't know how); my folder is called tzdata2007a.
    In Terminal, cd into that folder and run the following commands. Note that the modifications I'm after are in the file named northamerica. However, some modifications where made to the europe and africa files as well, and the last command, zic backwards, will complain if you don't include them. Here are the commands to run:
    foo$ cd /path/to/tzdata2007a
    foo$ sudo zic europe
    foo$ sudo zic africa
    foo$ sudo zic northamerica
    foo$ sudo zic backwards
    That's it; you're done. Check your results with the original command again:
    foo$ zdump -v /etc/localtime | grep 2007
    You should now see Mar 11 and Nov 4, instead of the original Apr 1 and Oct 28. Much better!

  • DST 2007 changes and Oracle9iAS

    Friends
    Do anyone know if there is any requirement to apply any patch on Oracle 9i Application server (9.0.2).
    We already have our OS, Oracle 9i database and database JVM patched for DST changes.
    Thanks

    Vishal,
    We are also on 9iAS R2 and have the default oracle 9.0.1.4 Database on the infrastructure. You need to basically check for
    1. Do you have any user defined TSTZ and TSLTZ types.
    2. Do you use TSTZ or TSLTZ types or the TZ_OFFSET functions any where
    3. Do a searchon Time Zone in all our pl/sql code and column names and did you find any thing??
    If answers are NO ....You don't need any patches...
    On the server side ...You just need to update the environment file
    and check for
    1. echo $TZ
    YOU SHOULD GET BACK THE SETTING YOU DID IN THE ENVIRONMENT FILE ..
    2. JDK patches are available with IBM

  • Is it possible for new ipad buyer change for Ipad 4?

    i heard that apple had stop produce the new ipad due to the ipad 4 is coming. it's really unfair for new ipad buyer who just buy it this year. is it possible for the new ipad buyer change their ipad with the ipad 4?

    This is just a website scam that's going around right now. It cannot infect you in any way.
    Some people have reported being directed to the App Store to download a particular camera app. If you are, do not download it. It cannot infect you with anything, but you don't want to reward the scammers by downloading their app. If you downloaded the app and paid money for it, contact Apple to dispute the charge.

  • Satellite 5200 - Need master/slave patch for new DVD drive

    I need a patch for DVD to use in a Satellite 5200.
    My original DVD is broken, so i bought a Toshiba SD-C2512 DVD but it is not working inside the Satellite, but with adaptor at my Desktop PC.
    I have to patch the DVD to Master.
    Where can I get the file and prog to patch?

    Hi
    I think such patches that you mean are not available and as far as I know if you can switch a notebook from Master to Slave for example there is a jumper on the drive.
    However, for me it sounds like that the drive is not compatible with this notebook. Not every drive is compatible with every notebook (e. g. pin assignment, ) ;)
    You should buy another one and check the user manual. There you should find a list of compatible drives.
    Bye

  • Can default settings for new entries be changed?

    When entering a new event, the default setting is "all day."  This rarely is the case.  Can it be turned off?

    The main system fonts cannot be changed. There are a few utilities which will allow you to alter the font size in some menus.
    This however is strictly a Microsoft issue. They coded Word to use a small font size for comments and gave the user no way to modify it. The only company that can fix this is MS.

  • New DST on Call Manager/Unity

    Hello Guys,
    I know Cisco has released patches for new DST for Unity and CCM.
    The issue is my CCM and Unity are getting their time from NTP.
    According to my understanding, NTP network time servers, they are not affected by DST since by definition NTP serves time in the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) format. DST time offsets are handled by the client operating system.
    Hence we will have to review the underlying client operating system settings for the CCM, Unity & Voice gateway.
    Is that correct?

    Hi Mirza,
    You are correct. Like Mike has correctly indicated, NTP just passes off the UTC Time and you will need to perform the applicable OS changes/CCM/Unity changes as indicated. Have a look at the following;
    For CCM Readme;
    http://ftp-sj.cisco.com/cisco/crypto/3DES/voice/callmgr/4.1/ciscocm.4-1-3-2007-DST-Update.1-0-1-readme.htm
    For Unity Field Notice;
