Solaris 10 PV-on-HVM drivers (SUNWxvmpv) not working with Xen 4.0.x

I have an HVM Solaris 10 virtual machine guest (domU) running on Xen 4.0.1. I'd like to use a PV (paravirtualized) NIC instead of an emulated NIC, and I know Solaris 10 has pv-on-hvm drivers installed by default (SUNWxvmpv). I'm using Solaris 10 10/09 (U8) release, SUNWxvmpv xVM Paravirtualized Drivers Version 11.10.0,REV=2008.02.29.14.37.
On Xen 3.3, when I specify a PV NIC, the Solaris 10 kernel detects the device (xnf0), loads the drivers and everything works as expected. On Xen 4.0, using the same exact VM configuration file and disk image, the kernel doesn't see the device. I've tried filing this bug with the Xen developer community, but I suspect that the problem is that the interface presented by the paravirtualized devices changed between Xen 3.3 and Xen 4.0 and the Solaris xVM PV drivers were never updated to account for this.
Are there updated PVHVM drivers for Solaris 10 available? Is the source for the drivers available? Thanks for any help you can provide.

When I went to save a file in firefox, the toolbar started working once the save as dialog popped up. It is definitely a bug in 6.10.2's toolbar code. Hopefully they fix it ASAP.

    Hi,
    Download Audio driver from here.
Intructions how to install it in Vista/Win7.
    Extract this driver with Winrar.
Open Device manager and expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
Right click on Either the High Definition Audio Device if you have the generic Microsoft drivers, or the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 if you have older Conexant drivers and choose "Update Driver Software..."
Click Browse my computer for driver software, then click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Click "Have Disk..." then Browse to the folder where the drivers were extracted  .......\V64 for 64-bit Vista/Win7. Click OK.
Select one of the "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221" models in the list, there will be multiple identical entries.
    Click Next, and you're done.
I'm not sure which one from the list will work for You.
This drivers weren't test. So if You will try them and it will work for You let us now about.

  • MacBook Pro Boot Camp Sound Audio Drivers Do Not Work with Miscrosoft Vista

I installed Vista via Boot Camp on my new 15" i7 MacBook Pro. After full MS Vista patching and Apple Boot Camp driver installation, the sound/audio does not work.
After some searching on the net, I've noticed that this is perhaps a widespread problem. Are there any solutions or an indication of when this will be fixed?

When you mean no sound, do you get the volume slider but nothing comes out or do you not get the volume slider at all?
Go to control panel, sound (you might need to switch to classic view to see the one im on about), then the "sounds" tab, there should be audio clips that you should be able to play, if the laptop has picked up the sound controller in it.
If you cant play these (greyed out) then the driver isnt installed properly.
There should be a update option in the boot camp program that is installed in your vista partition, run that, and if it fails you can try what is below.
Try going into device manager, uninstall/remove the drivers under the heading "sound, game and audio controllers" reboot the machine and it should install them back in again.
If it doesnt and asks for a disc, then they'll be on your max os x disc, but not sure you can install drivers individually this way. might have to reinstall the boot camp drivers from scratch.
Ive had this proplem on PC's (not macs) with drivers from manufacturer of the machines not working after windows updates. Fixed by using drivers from the audio controller manufacturer. But dont think its the same issue you are having.

  • Windows Server 2008 x64 on Bootcamp: Ethernet drivers missing/not working

    Hello folks,
at the moment I try to get Windows Server 2008 x64 running on a new Mac Pro (Early 2009).
Installation of Windows Server 2008 x64 (Enterprise) worked out of the box. However, the ethernet drivers do not work. Ethernet cards are not detected and working due to missing drivers.
I have tried several different Intel driver packages. All of them report "No intel card found.". However, the vendor ID of the ethernet card clearly points to Intel.
I have not been able to find a driver yet, does anyone have an idea?
E.g. does someone know the exact chip name? The driver "name"? Anything else?
    Thank you in advance,
    Stefan

Erik - Thanks for the info!
I use 64-bit applications ... some notes on why:
enterprise supports up to 32GB of memory so the argument to use x64 for memory support is nullified.
... that's not correct.  x64 windows versions allow 64-bit addressing, so 64-bit applications created for x64 windows can take advantage of large amounts of cheap RAM as 32-bit applications cannot.  32-bit applications (they are all 32-bit applications in a 32-bit Windows version, even in Server 2008) are restricted to a limited process space of at most 2 GB.
It's true there is a LARGEADDRESSAWARE kludge to enable limited use of up to 3 GB by a user process (and there is an equivalent to this in Server 2008),  but this has gone nowhere because it is far more straightforward and more productive for an applications developer to simply go 64-bit rather than invest any engineering resources into a one-of-a-kind kludge for an era that is already past.
Yes, it is true that if you are stuck running 32-bit applications you have less incentive to use x64 windows.  But going true 64-bit is a huge advantage in reliability and performance.  Given the very low cost of RAM in modern times it makes sense to do so, even in notebook settings that are often limited to only 4 GB of RAM.  64-bit applications in Windows tend to have decisive performance and reliability advantages so whenever one competitor in a given segment makes the jump to 64-bit pretty much all of them must do so.

  • JSP Not Working with Thin Driver

My JSP is not working with Oracle thin driver but it is working with Oracle OCI driver.
From my jsp i am calling a stored procedured and passing 170 parameters to the procedure. This JSP works with Oracle OCI Driver configured as thrid party drivers in iAS6.0 SP2, but not working with Oracle Thin Driver configured as third party drivers in iAS6.0. My thin driver JDBC Connection URL is as follows:
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION =(ADDRESS_LIST =(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = MAPDBI01)(PORT = 1521)))(CONNECT_DATA =(SID = MAPS))).
I have to give this URL because my production server deployment consists of iWS4.1 SP5 and iAS6.0 SP2 in different solaris boxes and Oracle 8.1.7 Database server in another Solaris Box. There is a pool of proxy servers between iAS6.0 box and the oracle box.

    Wim,
I'd really appreciate it if you could provide some sample code. A complete, small, simple java class that I could copy and try out would be wonderful -- if it's not too much trouble.
    Thanks heaps (in advance :-),

  • USB Ultranav keyboard does not work with Windows 7

Hi, I recently installed Windows 7 to my Dell Latitude XT tablet and was disappointed to learn that my USB Ultranav Keyboard only works as a keyboard and not a 'mouse'; that is, the ultranav devices (touchpad, buttons, and trackpoint) do not work.  I have not had problems with the keyboard functioning in XP or Vista, so it was surprising to find that it will not work with W7.
I thought all was going well when W7 recognized the Ultranav keyboard when I plugged-in the device, but all did not go as planned.  I let W7 find the drivers through Windows update, but then once they didn't prove to work, I followed W7's directions of reinstalling the drivers in its version of 'Compatability Mode', but that still didn't prove to work.  I would really appreciate any insights into this problem as it is one of my only (current) hesitancies about using W7.
Thank you for your time and attention to my inquiry.
    Cheers,
    Tsugazi

Hi, strangely enough, I got it to work.  Here's the what I did differently (for those with a similar problem):
After installing W7, I plugged in my keyboard and let Windows find the drivers.  When this didn't provide functionality of the ultranav devices, I tried installing the Ultranav drivers, and when Windows said there was a compatability problem, I then opted to let Windows re-install the Ultranav driver.  Unfortunately, this didn't provide functionality either.
Jump ahead 12 hrs and re-install of W7 (for other reasons).  This time out, I installed the Ultranav driver, THEN plugged in my keyboard.  Everything works now!  I don't know that this sequence will work for everyone, but it did for me.
    Thanks for your comments.
    Cheers,
    tsugazi

  • Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 95Q TV TUNER not working with windows 8.1 HP TouchSmart 15 Notebook PC

I've updated all drivers I can find from the manufracturer.  Are there any other HP drivers I need?  This worked fine on Windows 7 without having to update to a 'Pro with Media Center' edition.  I've updated to Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center.  Another comsumer had their question answered here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-Software-Recovery/TV-TUNER-not-working-with-w...
Was going to ask if there was a driver for the Hauppague tuner there but it wouldn't let me post a question asking if there was one of those drivers for the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950Q.

I updated all drivers to their latest versoins before beginning.  Waiting on response from vendor.

  • MBP CD2 DVI to VGA not working with projector

I am having issues getting the MBP to recognize a DELL 2300 projector through a DVI to VGA apple cable.
A few months ago there were posts about this, but no solutions. The problem seems to be with the 'INTEL' side of things, as the same projector with the same DVI to VGA apple cable works on an older G4 tower running 10.4.9. The projector also works on an old G4 iBook with it's version of a VGA adapter. To make things more confusing, a DVI to Video apple cable works with the DELL 2300 on my new MBP C2D-but produces a terrible quality picture. Mysteriously, my previous 1st generation MBP CD worked with the DELL 2300 via a DVI to VGA apple cable (but I'm not sure which OS was out at the time 10.4.8?)
My new MBP CD2 definately recognizes the projector through the DVI to VGA adapter, but the projector doesn't recognize the video signal from the computer. It is DEFINATELY the MBP (or universal drivers), as I have checked the DVI to VGA dongle (works), have checked the projector (works with an ibook running 10.4.8 OSX with VGA dongle), have changed resolution settings before and after connecting, have restarted computer, have tested various orders of connecting the projector and cables. STINK! (I also have TWO DVI to VGA adapters, so it is not a bad adapter). I have also played with exchanging various plist files from older universal versions of 10.4.8 that worked with the projector-no help.
As I stated, the projector will work (in horrible quality) with a DVI to Video dongle. Why it will not work with the DVI to VGA dongle is a mystery and annoying I would hope that a newer MBP CD2 would be plug and play (like my previous MBP CD and an old G4 tower and an old iBook G4...but no).
Any ideas, any help, any answers?

Here are the actors in our play today
    1. MacBookPro A. (my system a CD2 2.16 with OSX 10.4.9)
    2. MacBookPro B. (my friends system a CD2 2.16 with OSX 10.4.9)
    3. an iBook (my friends 1.07 GHz G4 with 10.4.8 and a VGA adapter)
    4. DELL 2300 MP projector
Plugged in DVI to VGA adapter to the virgin MacBookPro B (never had the projector plugged into it before) Dell projector shows that it recognizes an analog RGB 800X600 signal from MBP B. It projects a beautiful desktop. All is well for a moment.
In Display preferences we see for the MBP B
Color LCD, Display: 800X600 stretched, Colors: Millions, Refresh Rate: N/A
    VGA Display
Now, I unplug the DVI to VGA adapter and naturally MBP B readjusts to it's native resolution. Great.
Now I immediately plug back in the DVI to VGA adapter. The computer and the projector searches for signal with none found, while the computer shows no attempt at an automatic readjustment as above (800X600 stretched).
I try the 'detect display' option. It causes computer to stall for a second (as it searches) but it does not detect projector and does not readjust it's own resolution to 800X600 stretched as it did initially. F7 key does nothing.
    This is a problem!
So, I shut down the projector. I unplug the projector's power source and waited 20 seconds. plugged it back in, started projector back up.
    I shut down/restarted the MBP B.
I plug back in the DVI to VGA adapter into the MBP B. The MBP B screen flashes to all blue, but does not automatically change to 800X600 stretched (remains at native resolution and does not recognize an external monitor/projector)
    Enter the iBook!
I plug the iBook's VGA adapter into the projector. The projector shows that it recognizes an analog RGB 1024X768 60Hz signal and projects desktop screen immediately. Plug and play!
    iBook display prefs reveal:
Color LCD, 1024X768, colors: Millions, Refresh rate: N/A
    Color tab: Generic RGB Profile
    VGA display, 1024X768, colors: Millions,
Now. I unplug adapter from iBook, iBook readjusts to native display
plugged back in adapter to iBook, immediately recognizes and displays projected desktop.
    Scene 2: The FREAKY thing!
Now, I immediately (after unplugging the adapter from the iBook) change adapters to the DVI to VGA adapter and plug the projector into the MacBookPro B, whallla! Back in business. (computer screen adjusted to 800X600, and projector recognized signal).
Now, what about my computer? I unplug from MBP B and plug into MacBookPro A, and NOTHING...the computer doesn't automatically adjust to a new resolution, and the projector doesn't recognize any signal from the computer.
Ahhhh Freak out! Now, I plugged adapter back into MacBookPro B, and now back to NOTHING. MBP B no longer recognizes projector or readjusts it's resolution. Was something somehow corrupted?
Now, I plugged iBook VGA adapter back in, and iBook once again with it's awesome G4 technology (or dated video drivers or something) recognizes the projector in an instant and projects the screen.
Now, logically I try again to immediately unplug the adapter from the iBook and switch adapters and plug back into MacBookPro B-it worked once right? But, sorry, NOT twice. The mystery deepens.
Well, I think, maybe it is because I didn't restart MacBookPro B before attempting the switcharoo from iBook to MacBookPro.
So, I plug back into iBook-projector. And the iBook works immediately again.
I restart MacBookPro B and plug in to the freshly restarted MBP B...HOUSTON WE HAVE LIFT OFF! The MacBookPro B recognizes the projector and the projector kindly displays the desktop.
Now what about MacBookPro A...Last time, when I did the switcharoo, it corrupted something to cause the MBP B not to work. Let's try it again. Will this plug-unplug-restart-switch adapters-immediatly plug in technique work...let's see. I restart MBP A, and plug DVI to VGA adapter in. Sorry. Same ol' no signals recognized. MacBookPro A not auto readjusting resolution, and does not list any projector in display prefs.
Let's get crazy and immediately plug the adapter into the MacBookPro B...it works-oh so logical...NOT! Why wasn't it corrupted this time by MBP A? MacBookPro B readjusts its screen to 800X600 stretched and projector immediately recognizes and projects desktop.
Now lets see if I can break it again as before. I unplug it from MacBookPro B and back into MacBook Pro B, knowing that this caused it to stop working previously. And...it still works-WHAT? I do it a third time. It still works on MacBookPro B.
    So,
I plug it back into MacBookPro A...still nothing. Back to MacbookPro B works like a charm. This time it struggles a bit showing that initially it sees a signal from MacBookPro B of 1192X900 (i Think), then the MacBookPro B switches automatically to 800X600 and the projector works.
Wait..I see something amiss! I see in my MBP A menu bar an icon for Labtick which MBP B does not have. I shut down Labtick, plug back in the DVI to VGA adapter and 'Boom' the projector is recognized.
I unplug DVI to VGA adapter and plug back in to MBP A and 'Boom' the projector is recognized again...no it couldn't be!
Well, it is possible it couldn't be because, I shut down the projector, unplug it's power source, plug it back in. I plug it back into the recently working MBP A with Labtick not running, and sorry folks, now the projector doesn't work again. The MBP A does not readjust it's resolution, nor recognize a projector and the projector doesn't recognize the MBP A.
Let's try the projector in MBP B....same deal. Now it doesn't work. Same symptoms of MBP A.
Back to the good ol' iBook. Of course it works.
Now switching over directly to a restarted MBP B. -DOESN'T WORK (as it did using this technique previously)
Now switching over to MBP A- DOESN'T WORK.
As you can see, it is hard even with multiple computers to find a series of doing things that consistently makes the projector work.
Any thoughts, ideas, ways to diagnose? Thanks!

  • Modifer keys do not work with mouse in Illustrator

Below is a copy of a bug report I just submitted to Adobe. I don't suppose any users have run across this and found a solution or workaround?
I found someone else with this problem in an archived topic thread, but the only response that poor fellow got was an accusation of not following instructions (His problem wasn't user error, BTW).
    Thanks
    ******BUG******
    Concise problem statement:
Modifer keys do not work with mouse: For example, free transform or rotate behaviors that require "Click-Ctrl" .
    Steps to reproduce bug:
    1. select object
    2. select free transform tool
    3. left click (without releasing) a corner of the bounding box.
    4. start dragging
    5. press ctrl
    Results:
object behaves as though the ctrl key was not pressed. i.e. the cursor does not change shape and the object scales rather than distorts.
Expected results: The cursor should change shape as the ctrl key is pressed and the object should distort rather than scale.
Additional information: This behavior is intermittent. Occasionally Illustrator recognizes the "Click-Ctrl" combination and behaves exactly as the help file predicts it will. The cursor changes shape and the object distorts rather than scales. I can offer no rhyme or reason for when Illustrator will behave as advertised and when it will ignore the modifier keys.
The example above involves the free transform tool, but the problem occurs just as often with other tool behaviors that require a modifier key + mouse combination.
Primarily using Wacom Intuos3 tablet. (with latest drivers), but have also tried combinations with microsoft mouse or both mice installed.
Also, immediately after an occurrence Illustrator bug, left AI open, went to a different app that uses mouse+modifier (Ctrl+Click). That different app recognizes Ctrl+Click with no problems whatsoever.

    Thanks Guys,
Good to know it's working for you. I guess that's the nature of intermittent bugs. Of course, Adobe's bug report form has a field for version, which I, of course, filled in. Sorry I didn't add it to this post. I'm using the latest version CS3 v13.0.2.
    Stephen,
Sorry I was not more clear when I said, "For example, ...". I was talking about the modifier keys not working with several different tools. The Free Transform tool advertises functionality that is supposed to work with a "Click (down, but don't release)then hold down Ctrl" combination. The Rotate tool advertises a behavior that is supposed to work with an "Alt-Click" combination. These are just 2 examples of the modifier keys not working. I focused primarily on one example in the bug report(ctrl after and in addition to click in the free transform tool, not alt-click in the rotate tool).
Here is what I expect(quoted from Adobe's CS3 help file)
(From the "Distort Objects with the Free transform tool" help topic)
    "Select one or more objects.
Select the Free Transform tool .
Start dragging a corner handle on the bounding box (not a side handle), and then do one of the following:
Hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac OS) until the selection is at the desired level of distortion.
Hold down Shift+Alt+Ctrl (Windows) or Shift+Option+Command (Mac OS) to distort in perspective."
(from the "Rotate an object by a specific angle" help topic:)
You can control the exact angle of rotation with the Rotate command.
    Select one or more objects.
    "Do one of the following:
To rotate around the center point, choose Object > Transform > Rotate, or double-click the Rotate tool.
To rotate around a different reference point, select the Rotate tool. Then Alt‑click (Windows) or Option‑click (Mac OS) where you want the reference point to be in the document window.
Enter the rotation angle in the Angle text box...."
These Tool based mouse-key combinations do occasionally work as they are supposed to, so I know what the expected results are supposed to look like, but whether they work or not appears to depend on the phase of the moon, the day of the week, and the color of the president's underwear.
Other non-tool based mouse-key combinations in Illustrator work consistently all the time - Ctrl-A for Select All as just one example that always works.
    Thanks Again

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw Not working with Fedora 14

Our ERP is compactible up to Fedora 14. But I newly purchased Printer(
HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw) is not working with this OS.
    Give me a urgent solution

    Hi @HealthITLadyRed,
I read your post and see that the printer is making noise and is stuck initializing. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
I have provided some steps to try to see if we can resolve this issue.
Check and remove any packaging material inside the printer and toner.
Disconnect the USB/Network/FAX and power the printer on Standalone.
Do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
If the issue persists, perform a power drain by disconnecting the power cord from the back of the printer and keeping the power button pressed for 30 seconds and in case of a power switch keep the switch in ON position for 30 seconds before reconnecting the power chord.
Update the printer's firmware by a USB connection. Software and Drivers.
Select Option 2 and wait for the page to load and then select the link for firmware. This resolved the previous posters issue.
I can send a private message with another step to try.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
What happened prior to this issue? (paper jam, changed toner) Any feedback would be appreciated.
    Is this a new printer?

  • HP B500 Wireless Bluethooth Adapter for HP Printer Not Working With Windows 8.1

I have been using the HP BT500 bluetooth Wireless adapter to print wirelessly to my HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer.  I have been using Windows Vista, but recently upgraded to Windows 8.1.  I learned after the upgrade that the HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter is not compatable with Windows 8.1.  I have attempted to find a driver upgrade for the B500, but there does not appear to be one available.  I have also searched the HP site and other sites in an attempt to locate an alter wireless blotth adapter to replace the B500, but have again been unable to locate one.
Is there a wireless bluetooth apter that will allow me to print wirelessly to my HP Office Pro 8500 from my laptop?

    Hi @Raider83,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter for your HP Officejet 8500 is not working with Windows 8.1. I am sorry to hear this but happy to look into this for you!
I am not sure if you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System. But sometimes with Windows 8.1 you can use compatibility mode to install an older version of the driver. Which might help the situation. Here is a link to some other Windows drivers, HP bt500 Bluetooth USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter Drivers.
Once you got a driver downloaded, follow this guide, Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows, on how to install it using compatibility mode.  It is not guaranteed to work, but it is worth a try!
If you still need me to look for other bluetooth adapters, please respond with your printer's Product/Model Number. To find your printer's Product/Model Number follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number. As there are multiple HP Officejet 8500 printers.

  • HP Laserjet 4 plus not working with Powerbook G4 & 10.5.8

I have been using a Powerbook G4 running 10.4.11 with a HP Laserjet 4 plus without any problems. Last week I updated my G4 to 10.5.8. To acheive this, I purchased a full retail 10.1 DVD from Ebay installed it then updated to 10.5.8 using Apples Update Software feature. I believe all the features of my computer work except printing. Previously I have been using an apple wireless network without any problems.
Now when using 10.5.8 I have tried this:
    1) select system preferences
    2) then select print & fax
    3) then click on the plus sign to add a printer
    4) the window that shows up that says default, fax. ip, windows, bluetooth, apple talk, more printers across the top of it.
    5) In this window the are two Laserjet 4 plus machines listed. One is listed with Appletalk and one is listed with Bonjour Shared. I only own one machine. I have tried selecting both of them separately and each time the same problem continues to happen.
Each time either of the Laserjet 4 plus printers are selected the "Print Using" pull down menu begins searching for new drivers. The gray circular animation just goes round and round and eventually does not do anything. Obviously something has not installed correctly. Or there is a conflict somewhere that I have not been able to figure out.
I have downloaded and installed the HP Laserjet and Edgeline print-only.mpkg from HP's website. The problem still exists.
A family member in my household is using an Intel MacBook Pro running 10.5.8 with this same HP Laserjet 4 Plus on the same bonjour shared network without any problems. This being the case, I am confident the old HP 4 Plus printer will work with 10.5.8 using an apple wireless network.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,

The HP 4 printer has a JetDirect card in the back of it. The JetDirect card has a 10BaseT ethernet which I connected with an ethernet cable to an airport express base station. The express unit communicates with the main airport unit in my home.
Many years ago I worked for a company that rebuilt macintosh computers and hardware for resale. I rebuilt this HP printer from spare parts and added the JetDirect card at that time and have not had any major problems with the unit until now. It had no problems or printing errors when I was running 10.4.11.
I neglected to mention that after the printer would not work with 10.5.8 I went back and tried to reinstall the optional printer driver package on the original 10.5.1 installation DVD. When this did not work either, I downloaded the HP print driver package available from their website. Could I have somehow screwed this up by installing the incorrect or uncompatible print drivers?
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it.
