Solaris 10 u3 upgrade to u4 not working

Trying to update from a patched solaris 10 u3 to solaris 10 u4 and it keeps failing.
its a mirrored boot with solaris 10 and solaris express installed.
The error it gives is that either it can't find the OS to upgrade or its un-upgradeable.
Any ideas why it fails and how i can get this to work?

You need to delete all local metadevices and metadb before upgrading.
It seem to be a bug.

Skype 6.3 upgrade for Mac not working

BE WARNED - just because you are being asked to upgrade your Skype, it does not mean it will work on your machine. I am a fairly regular user of Skype and this morning was unable to log-in, being told that I needed to upgrade. I did so to 6.3.0.602 but I was unable to log-in once the software had downloaded. After some research on the forums and finally a text chat with Support, I was told that Skype 6.3.0.602 requires a Mac OSX of 10.9 or above - I have 10.5.8
"So what can I do", I asked the tech support. The answer is nothing (unless I get new OS X software) - there is no Skype software programme that supports my operating system and no timeframe for when it might be available.
Huh? That's right. It's just not available. So for now, users with less than OS X 10.9 will be unable to use Skype when they are instructed to upgrade. It really doesn't make sense. But just so you know....

Here you will read that the latest versions of Skype will not work on some of the versions of MacOS, and that PPC requires one version, Leopard another, Snow leopard another, Mountain Lion another. They are indoctrinated with a stamp in their forehead to enforce their congregation of true believers to install the latest with all "security fixes" or death is looming. They are not used to software that is 2 years old.
So, with Mac, we have different operating systems and different sets of libraries - and things may go belly up if you upgrade - a OS feature is done differently, a libary has been placed inside the OS, and is no longer needed - and if you try to use it, you will be trapped.
Install the latest version that works for your Mac, and make sure to freeze this. Update the "info.plist" file and tell Skype that you use their latest should they pry. As long as it works, do not change anything!
And make the change to stop Skype from checking every time you start.

After Upgradation BPF is not working for some users

Hi All,
We have recently upgraded from BPC 5.1 to 7MS SP7. we are having multi server setup with one application / reporting server (windows 2003 and one sql server 2008 (windows 2003 64 bit).
Intially before upgradation we don't have any issues with BPF and it worked fine for all users. But post upgradation tasks within the BPF does not work for other users except for the first two people who first used it. Other users have the same rights as the ones who can access the tasks.
when they click on the link it gets them to eExcel and the right application but doesnt open the package or report assigned to the task. It doesn't give us any errors, on the status bar we get a message finalising but does not getting any thing.
Any inputs ??

Are you sure that those users have installed BPC 7 SP7 clients on their machine? Meaning that you uninstalled 5.1 clients and installed the new client from http://servername/Osoft?
If yes, you should maybe run a client diagnostic on the machines and also check the Management Console for any error messages.

What is up with the Quicktime 7.2 upgrade, it DOES NOT WORK!

Quicktime 7.2 Internet Plug-In does not work with Safari? I am very up to date with all the upgrades to maintain security, and this most recent "upgrade" while may be plugging a security hole for the iPhone does not maintain past functionality. I have searched and done most if not all the suggested fixes (repairing permissions, removing Internet Plug-Ins, installing most up to date flash player, un checking Flash Media MIME setting, even forcing Safari to load w/ Rosetta) and am very disappointed with having to force Safari into Rosetta and shocked to hear the suggestion to abandon Apple altogether and use Firefox. I am using Safari to get away from Netscape and third party software to AVOID conflicts. Worse Firefox does in-fact work making me doubt its' security for internet banking.
When is Apple going to FIX this Quicktime Update so that it works?!

Same here. I don't have in Intel Mac, so it's not a Rosetta issue. I've patiently followed every tip I've read in many discussions. Reinstalled Quicktime. Installed Flash 9 Upgrade. Changed Quicktime settings (unchecked enable flash, unchecked Flash Media under MIME settings). Trashed Quicktime preferences.
However in Safari, on upon trying to open any movie trailer on the Quicktime web site

I get a Quicktime logo with a question mark. In Firefox (which I've also reinstalled) it quits unexpectedly when trying to open a movie trailer. In my own experiments, I've opened another admin account on my computer and when I log in there, everything works fine. You say "well just use that account then", that would mean me having to transfer all my files to the other account which I don't want to do unless someone has a really quick way to do so. Also, in checking the system preferences for Quicktime under both accounts, I don't see any difference. Both accounts are accessing the same software from the root level Applications folder, so why does it work in one account and not the other? Someone help, as I don't think I can read another 10 page discussion on this.

Upgraded Call Assistant not working

The other day when I went to check the call assistant it required an upgrade so I let it run. Now when ever I get a call it does not show it as incoming nor does it show anything in the log. Does anyone know why it is not working?

heeheehee they (verizon sales) told me that to get VCA I HAD to upgrade my phone service.
after a month of not having VCA (they confirmed it was never 'enabled' yet), I cancelled the phone upgrade because the only reason I got the phone upgrade was to get the VCA (per the sales person). and so now I am paying for the early termination fee for the upgraded phone service that they NOW tell me was never needed in the first place.
and now my homeowners association has discontinued the cables service that is supplied-as-part-of-the HOA-assessment, so I have to decide wether I wan to pay the existing cable co or switch my TV over to Verizon . . . . . .hmmmm do I really have a decision here?

After Yosemite upgrade, iTunes login not working

Hello everyone!
Just boght a new Macbook Air everything was flawless. I upgraded to Yosemite and iTunes login is not working. I keep getting the message "The Apple ID you entered couldn´t be found or your password is incorrect. Please Try again".
I use my apple ID across al devices (iPhone and iPad running iOS 8), use it for iCloud and App Store at the Macbook Air without issues. I have even tried to change the password in order to solve the issue, without luck.
Any ideas on to What might happen? Ihave tried to contact apple via phone but they bump me because tha kin of support is not available in Guatemala ( where I live)

Ok, in the end I was able to solve this myself.
(thanks to tips in other discussions)
What I did:
1. Close iTunes
2. Open folder C:\Users/<user name>/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/iTunes/Cookies
3. Delete the only file in that folder
4. Open folder C:\Users/<user name>/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/iTunes
5. Delete the two files (not folders) in that folder
6. Re-start iTunes and run it as System Adminstrator
7. Login works

After Windows 10 upgrade, scanner application not working

All was working fine prior to Windows 10 upgrade. Everything else works - printing is OK. Am using USB connection. From HP Printer Assistant when I try to activate "Scan an Dcoument or Photo" I get: "The HP Officejet Pro 8600 was not found" Tried the following: -- Switch to network connection. Established connection, but when I start HP Printer Assistant all I get is the Print options. No scan or fax options appear.-- HP Print and Scan Doctor. Loaded new software - not specified what software. The test scans run in this application actually work fine. But then I go back to the HP Printer Assistant and it still can't find the printer. So bottom line - no ability to scan.

Snow Leopard upgrade - Keyboard Letters not working

Since I upgraded to Snow Leopard the CAPS lock key and the letter "p" will not work anymore. Not sure if this is a hardware fault and just coincidence.
Can live without CAPS lock but random letters will cause me an issue. Anybody have similar issues/problems/suggestions?

Why is the download link for the upgrade of Lightroom not working?

Am I the only one, for who the download link https://creative.adobe.com/de/products/de/download/lightroom?promoid=KSKAY ist not working? I just get the error site not found...

The 5.7 version. I found a different link, which was working, but I wasn't aware that's not just an upgrade but a completely new version you have to pay for again.
So I think I will stick to my version. But thanks for your answer anyway.

Upgrada qbittorrent does not work

I upgraded qbittorrent to "qbittorrent 1.2.999-1", however it does not work: needs shared library "libboost_system-mt.so". I do not know where to find this library, besides I do not understand why pacman not installed this library if bittorrent really needs it.

After the upgrade qbittorrent doesn't load. All dependencies are rigth. Programs starts for a few seconds then die.

After upgrade USB Keyboard not working to unlock cryptdev-ed HDD

Is there any sane reason, why my USB keyboard does not work after upgrading right now to enter the keyphrase to unlock my hdd? (x86_64, kernel 2.6.28-1.1, luks encrypted hdd that contains an lvm2 volume) The keyboard works fine in grub, short time before I have to enter the password, it goes black (numblock LED turns off). Luckily I have an USB-to-PS/2 converter, so I just plugged it in there, the system recognizes this and I'm able to enter the password. Afterwards, pluggin the keyboard back into its USB port, it works again.
Has anyone encountered the same strange behaviour? Or has anyone a solution for this problem?

Even worse, my LUKS key is stored on a USB-Stick. After upgrading, my USB-Stick was not recognized and so the LUKS key could not be read. Luckily (very luckily) I had defined a plain text keyphrase for LUKS slot 2 and so I was able to enter this via the PS2 keyboard. Anyone who has not provided this "backdoor" for themselves faces a difficult task.

SSD Upgrade V570 - OneKey not working.

So, From what I read, it is not possible to use OKR once you replace the drive.
What I have tried:
1: Cloned original HDD to SSD
2: Installed SSD. Computer surprisingly booted up with out problems
3: OneKey press at power off = normal start up
4. OneKey from Start menu will backup, but wont reimage.
5. tried to partition drive exactly as HDD was (except C: which is smaller)
6. changed type from 12 to 7 in ptedit32, set boot flag active
7. booted into recovery, but would not recover, "cannot find service partition"
8. cahnged Lenovno_part back to type 12
9. one key works both button and start menu, but still no recovery
10. called customer service, cost money for discs...
So I guess my specific question are, will the recovery discs from lenovo be exactly like the ones i could have burnt from the orgianl HDD? meaning, is it not going to work becuase the drive is different size, or does it automtically build partions based off the size of the ssd? If I put the old HDD (which is untouched beyond the first power on) and make factory discs, will they build partition scheme on new SSD and one key will work?
I should have mentioned that my system was as such:
200MB hidden OEM partition
475GB C: partition
29GB D: LENOVO partition
20GB hidden LENOVO_PART partition
this was purchases last week (09/01/2012)as a refurbish, and was the best setup (no bloat (except lenvon stuff)) 'ive ever purchased.
I understand everyone who wants to mess with partions and such, but they should have a way to rebuild partition structre if you have to replace the drive. On my wives older v570, the drive went bad, bought a new 500gb and onekey would not work becuase the new "500"gb drive had 13MB (yes, thats MB's) less space....???

If you have the Old hard drive, I would suggested to create a set of recovery DVD’s, Burn the factory image
Then Install SSD and use recovery DVD’s.

Golive CS to Dreamerweaver upgrade S# does not work

Do I need a different product?
I bought GoLive to Dreamerweaver upgrade. Did not remember GoLive was part of my CS purchase and not a stand-alone product.

If you look in the download, install help, there is a page that describes common upgrade serial number problems. Yes, it seems as though you bought the wrong product, because upgrades are from suites to suites or from standalone to standalone only, according to that page. Probably need to call about return/exchange.
