After working few years in Solaris I have decided to get some paper colifications of Solaris admin to my belt. As a start I have planned to do the Oracle solaris 11 adminstation associate exam (1z0-821). If any admin has the course materials please share the stuff with me. This is a grate help to me

You do need to have
Oracle Certified Associate, Oracle Linux 5 and 6 System Administrator or
Oracle Linux Administrator Certified Associate (retired)
as well of course!
but if necessary you can pass 1z0-100 after 1z1-105 and you will still be awarded OL6 OCP!

though this is not security related: You can use JavaBeans within a Bean Container in Oracle Forms. This allows you to add any Java you like to the Forms front end. However, you may have to dig a bit into the Forms client for this.

IZ0-402 + IZ0-403 Linux Fundamentals and Linux Administrator Exams

Hi to all,
I'm based in the UK and am looking to complete the the Linux OCA qualifications by the end of the year. I am having some difficulity finding any media to help with learning the subject. I have searched for books to buy and non are available in the UK. I usually use Sybex as study material but the book I was searching for does not seem to be available. I was wondering if anyone else had any more suggestions to what study material I should be using?
I happened also to look to sign up to the instructor led course but had no luck there here in the UK.

Two books hat might help towards 1z0-402 are:-

I dont have a single reference for 1z0-403 but in general system admin information applicable to RHEL 4 is useful. Beware of trawling the net as you would probably simply come accross links to unauthorised learning material/braindumps unless you are using non-certiifcation related sites. The OEL forum may also be useful if you are studying a topic and become stuck.

Clarification Request on New Solaris Cert Exam Requirements.

Regarding:
Important Changes to Java, and Oracle Solaris Certifications
Beginning August 1, 2011, Java Architect, Java Developer, Solaris System Administrator and Solaris Security Administrator certification path requirements will include a new mandatory course attendance requirement.
Candidates may earn their certifications using the current track requirements found on the Oracle Certification website through July 31, 2011 .....References:

Reference (1) seems to indicate candidates wishing to obtain both OSSA and OSSESA would need to attend two classes, one for each.
- Or is it that a someone already SCSA/OSSA would not have to attend a further classs for OSSESA (As would be the case for DBA 10 OCP/RAC 10 OCE).
- If two classes are required, and a candidate has attended System Administration for the Solaris 10 OS Part 2 which is a common pre-req for both exams, would that single class be sufficient for both exams.
From my point of view, and I suspect a lot of other are in my situation, having an existing SCSA 10.
.... Does this mean that post July 31 2001 if it was desired to gain the OSSESA 10 OCE would a course then be needed to be attended after that date?
.... Looking forward to Solaris 11; does this mean existing existing OSSA/SCSA 10 holder will need to attend a course for the upgrade for what I assume will be Solaris 11 certifications at some point.

IMHO Certification Forum Moderator's response time is entirely reasonable and expected. but it is true that you need to attend the required course separately for each certification, sometime this sounds crazy to me, where courses are very costly and it is mandatory to have them before you can write the exam.. Course are good specially for those who does not believe on self-study and specially who has got enough money to throw on.. sometime I do not find doing course was worth paying.. Course also depends on the Instructor, if he is good, you can benefit most but if he is not good then you feel lost money.I am assuming you response in this section is in terms of a question rather that an having an authorative source such as the link I gave earlier. While the webpage pubished earlier would seem authorative IMHO is is possilbe it is incomplete or contains an ambiguity or error (bigdelboy is suspicious and solaris can slow due to people who shout at their computers http://blogs.sun.com/brendan/entry/unusual_disk_latency perhaps causing the correct information some time to arrive).
Also it is worth remembering Oracle University have for a lot of courses a +satisifation guarentee' to retake the course if you were not satisfied (you still have to spend resource yourself reattending). (NB: WDP doesn't have this).

HFM Administrator certification exam

Hello:
I am thinking about taking HFM administrator exam certified by Oracle (1Z0-271) and wonder if there is any good study material. I have the HFM admin guide and one sample exam, which may not be enough for me to prepare all the questions. The Oracle boot camp or training courses cost well over a couple of thousand dollars. Wonder if I can get a good study guide for this exam without taking those courses. Thank you in advance.

I still use the Net-G courses that Oracle suggested a few years ago for internal trainings (not sure if that is Selftestsomething now). However the 1Z0-007 SQL part is pretty bad (some wrong answers), although the PL/SQL part is slightly better and usuable.
I think I'll consider the transcender tests for the more current 1Z0-051 preparations in the future.

Solaris 10 Network Certification

Has someone taken this exam and also taken the Solaris 9 Network exam, im wondering if there are big differences? I have only a book for Solaris 9 Network Certification, because there are no other released, and Sun weblearing is to expensive. Im also reading some pdf from docs.sun.com

Oracle 1Z0-052 exam help !!

I have passed SQL fundamental-I (1Z0-051) exam and now I am preparing for oracle database Administration exam-I(1Z0-052), but I have few questions :
(1) Is knowledge of linux/solaris is must to pass this exam.
(2) Is their is any requirement of PL/SQL before starting for this exam study.

Updating Oracle Certification, which exam I should pass?

Hello, everyone, please can anybody advice me, regarding question in topic. My Solaris Administrator Certificate will expire in June, and Solaris Network Specialist in July, earlier in Sun there was one exam, for updating current certification. But now we have Solaris 11, which exam I can pass for updating my Solaris certification. Can I pass Solaris 11 exam, for example "transition to Solaris 11" for updating my certification.

Certifications do not expire, but we do recommend that you keep your certifications up-to-date. Exam 1Z0-820 will upgrade your certification to Solaris 11 (training not required, but recommended). There is not an 11 version of the Network Admin at this time, but your current certification will not expire.
