Solaris 8 login using iDS 5.1sp2

I have recently installed the Sun ONE Directory Server 5.1 sp2 onto a Solaris 8 machine. I would like to setup both the directory server and Solaris to work with one another. I need to know which fields to add to the Directory Server, as well as any changes I need to make on the Solaris machine. I've been through several docs from Sun blueprints, the Sun knowlege base, and through these forums, but I haven't had any success fixing my problem. Eventually I will need assistance configuring the Directory Server to enbale Windows 2000 logins as well. I will also need to know how to setup Windows 2000 for LDAP authentication.
If anyone can be of assistance, I would appreciate it.

I had a heck of a time getting this to work with just the install of iDS 5.1sp1. I could find no documentation on this at all. Finally here is what I did:
1.) Install Netscape Directory Server 4.1.6sp1 (included with your Solaris 8 CD pack).
2.) Run the Native LDAP setup script from blueprints (SUN)
3.) Add a user or 2 to test your setup.
4.) install a new Directory Server that is iDS 5.1sp1 (or sp2 in your case)
5.) Migrate your native LDAP setup to iDS 5.1sp2.
I have a few issues to work out, but all in all it should work. If you read through the posts in this thread, I have outlined what I did to migrate my data to iDS 5.1sp1 from NDS 4.1.6sp1

However, it is not permitted to use in Production at all. But sometimes, only in critical situations, for eg. we have only a few basis IDs and some maintenance task is to be carried out involving more resources, multiple gui login can be utilized in sandbox to for that ID.
But, it is for sure that, USMM report will be sent to SAP for the sandbox too. So client is subjectable. If you, as a basis guy, are going to try it, then please do it only after the confirmation from the client and only if client needs it.

Running DocuMaker 12.1 Using IDS 2.4

I have a transaction level DAL to trigger and order the forms based on few nodes in the XML. I see that the DAL works perfectly well when DocuMaker is run stand-alone.
It gives the same results when the same extract is submitted multiple times. But the DAL doesn't work properly when DocuMaker is ran using IDS. It gives proper results for the 1st two runs and doesn't work as expected in the next runs.
The DAL uses GVM variables for ordering the forms and I believe the GVM variables are not getting destroyed as the GENDATA process stays alive during the IDS call.
I tried modifying my IDS request type to stop the DocuMaker process before each it starts and could see some issues with the performance. This fixed the issue but i could see the response time is more as the IDS starts DocuMaker for every requests.Do we have any INI settings or rules that can be used to destroy the GVM variable after each run.
Below is the definitions of the request type in the docuserv.xml. Please let me know if there is a better way of doing it.

I don't know how many GVM variables might be involved, but assuming that you do, why not simply clear the variables in a PostTransDAL rule in the AFGJOB. That way the variables will have no content when the next transction begings?
And depending upon your setup and what you are relying upon to create the GVMs, you might also be able to use a little trick using the <GentrnDummyFields> INI Group. Normally a GenTrn process would expect any variables named here to also be defined in the TRN DFD, but since you are using IDS, I'm presuming that you are only relying upon GenData and not GenTrn. So - again depending upon what you are relying upon to define the GVMs - you might be able to simply list your GVMs under this group and they would be cleared at the start of every transaction.

By leaving the assignment blank, I'm pretty sure the start of each transaction will clear the variables. Note this doesn't delete them, but I'm assuming your script(s) would be able to handle the blank value to mean the item is not defined.

Solaris Express Login Problem

I'm a complete rookie with Sun & Solaris, so any help someone could offer would be greatly appreciated!
I have a SunBlade 1500 (SPARC) that I purchased from university surplus. The hard drive was wiped, so I needed to install an OS. I don't have a DVD burner, so I downloaded Solaris Express Text Install, because it was the only OS I could find that would work with SPARC & could be burned to CD. Installation went fine, & the hard drive now boots to the disk. But here is my problem:
At bootup, I am asked to login, and I don't know what to do. During install, I had to make several entries for passwords & such. The "computer name" is solaris, and the "root password" is sunblade1500. I entered Bugs Bunny for "real name", Bugs for "user name", and bugs123 for "user password". I've tried all different combinations of these when prompted for login, but the only ones that seem to work and not give a "login incorrect" message are when I use either "Bugs" or "Bugs Bunny" as login, and "bugs123" as password.
Here is verbatim text of what the screen shows when I try to login with these entries:

You are logged in as the user bugs* and the system is sitting at a command-line OS prompt.

You pulled the text-only distribution.
It's a full UNIX but you won't have a GUI.
The install files for the GUI are too much to fit on a CD.
I think it may be time for you to go buy some books.

I installed successfully Solaris 11 Express.
However after Restart only the solaris console login prompt appears.

When you install Solaris 11 Express from the LiveCD on a system which supports the graphical login screen, it usually comes up automatically. So first, we need to know why this didin't happen. First, did you use Automated Install? If so, you may not have all of the software you need. If that is the case, you may need to do a "pkg install slim_install" as root to get the software you need. If you have all of the software you need, check "svcs -xv" to make sure that there were no problems in the system start up. If problems are listed, you should resolve those issues and see if that allows the graphic install to come up. If "svcs -xv" is clean, you should check the "gdm" service. If it is disabled, you need to enable it. I'm sure there are other potential problems but this should get you started.

XSLT designer does not let you use IDS functions, so I tried to modify the source directly like this:

I'm looking for an 11gr2 RAC install Guide on Solaris 10 x86 using 2-3 containers. I need to have the NFS server reside in the global zone or on a 3rd container visable to the two rac containers.

PS - I currently have run into an install issue -
Can't change ownership on /oracle/products/11.2.0/ocr/: not owner at /oracle/app/11.2.0/grid/crs/install/crsconfig_lib.pm line 5014.
I suspect the NFS share params from the NFS server in the global zone are not 100% correct to the two rac zones/containers.

Have you visited Oracle Support Services website (formerly metalink) to determine if your desired configuration is supported?
Last time I looked it was not.

Unable to login using weblogic in sample tutorial page

I am trying to login using "weblogic" and "weblogic1" credentials to the tutorial page at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e10273/createapp.htm
But after I click the link "login", nothing is happening. I mean no response is coming and progress bar shows still waiting. Neither its saying invalid credentials.
But using the same credentials I am able to successfully login into the console page at http://127.0.0.1:7101/console
I even tried to delete the DefaultDomain and started Integrated Weblogic server and it again automatically created the domain. But still same problem exists.

You need to run the setup once to register the administrator user for discussion server. Open /Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/yourdomain/config/fmwconfig/servers/WC_Collaboration1/owc_discussions/jive_startup.xml file and change "true" to "false"

Now access the http://host:port/owc_discussions/admin/setup and make the configuration and on last step specify weblogic or any other user as admin. Then you will be able to access it.

Error in reading core on Solaris 2.8 using pstack command

We are unable to read core file on Solaris 2.8 using pstack command. We are getting warning that librtld_db failed to initialize; symbols from shared libraries will not be available.
Man page of pstack says that such error can occur if a core file from one operating system release is examined on a different operating system release.
But we are trying to read the core on the same machine on which it occurred.
Does any one know what could be reason and what are the alternative to read core in such situation?

The problem occurred again.
In fact now it is repeatable.
We have not installed any Solaris patches after original OS installation. We have checked the core using pstack immediately after it was dumped.
We have tried reading it using dbx but it is also giving same error.
Here is the output of dbx
dbx: could not initialize rtld_db.so -- verify that corefile was generated on a compatible machine
Note: We compile our program on Solaris 2.6 as 32 bit and then install it on Solatis 2.8.
We have tried reading the core using dbx on both Solaris 2.6 as well as Solaris 2.8.
We know that this must be problem in our program (some memory violation) and has nothing to do with 2.8 or 2.6.
But inability to analyze core is happering the debugging.

I´m developing a Sharepoint 2013 login form (Sharepoint 2013 application) and I need to check if a cookie generated in another Web app is present then login using information stored in this cookie (No critical info stored here). I know the cookie is generated
but I can´t read it from the sharepoint app. When I check if the cookie exists the cookie is null.

Right now, this application used to Log In is a Single Sign On app, it is used by multiple applications in the organization (Via an authentication coookie). What I need to do is that my Sharepoiint Login page calls this application which generates a cookie
(not authentication coookie) its a normal cookie whith some information that will allow me to login and generate the security token via my membership provider in my sharepoint app.
Any additional steps or something I need to do for this to work?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to call the cookie which generated in Single Sign On app in your SharePoint login page.
If your SharePoint app and the SharePoint single sign on app are in the same domain, you can set the cookie with a
domain level asp.net authentication cookie using setAuthCookie
and some web.config changes.
