Solaris: Syntax errors on all db2 commands run in terminal

DB2 Express 9.5 x86 installed on Solaris 10 x86.
Just about every DB2 command I run gets some type of syntax error.
There has to be some additional configuration required after installing DB2.
When I run these without the sh in front, I get a "command not found" message.
Here are edited examples.
I had to remove some of the disallowed content from the examples and replace with xxxx's.
Examples:
bash-3.00# sh db2level
db2level: xxxxxxxx: not found
db2level: syntax error at line 19: `(' unexpected
bash-3.00# sh db2
db2: syntax error at line 3:
bash-3.00# sh db2fs
Usage: dirname path
db2fs: test: argument expected
bash-3.00# sh db2admin
db2admin: syntax error at line 2:
`"#' unexpected
bash-3.00# sh db2daslevel
db2daslevel: syntax error at line 1: `(' unexpected
bash-3.00# sh db2fmd
db2fmd: syntax error at line 20: `(' unexpected
bash-3.00# sh db2diag
db2diag: syntax error at line 8: `(' unexpected

Definitely the wrong forum for those questions.

  • Syntax error in program SAPLRRK0 - while running query in Bex/Portal

    Hi all,
    we just transported all the objects from dev to QA and data is loaded and everything went good. We are SPS9 and front end patch 903
    Now I am trying to run queries on Bex analyzer and portal and I am getting this error.
    "Syntax error in program SAPLRRK0."
    Also on portal I am getting these extra messages
    Error while executing function module: BICS_PROV_SUBMIT_VARIABLES
    Error while executing function module: BICS_PROV_OPEN
    I am researching but any input is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

    Thanks Prakash,
    I understand the pre-requisite notes issue but when we are moving like 50 notes from BW Dev to BW QA i am not sure how it works. I overheard the basis guy saying he is going to appy notes as per time stamp they were applied in BW Dev system. I will check on that though.
    I have applied notes 969330, 969772, 977912,978359, 981814, 987135 in last 2 weeks. (which probaly are some how related to the issue). We have also applied some BI-Java notes in Portal Dev which are not transported to Portal QA.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

  • How can I trap & display HTML syntax errors in mx:HTML at run time?

    I am loading HTML pages into an mx:HTML component in an AIR application. If the HTML contains errors, they show up in the trace window in debug mode.  I'd like to trap that information so I can tell the usere that there are errors (and what they are) in the production version of the application. How can I get at those errors?

    I found it myself how to do it. The error says that it is not able to find the reference object i.e  it is asking us to refer to the table. The following piece of code will solve this problem. Have to implement this in WDDOMODIFYVIEW method of the view. This thing works comrades enjoy...

    Hi,
    make sure you have deployed the SPML WS first as per:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10391_01/doc.910/e10366/spml.htm#CHDEGDEC
    The error you are getting is in fact an generic error from the JBOSS saying that the path was not found on the server. And <HR> is just an HTML tag of that error page.
    Look in the provided code and make sure you can reach the link first in the browser.

  • Entry-SQL syntax error: CASE not allowed

    Hello All. When I use sap netweaver developer to develop webdynpro applications, I always meet that jdbc error.
    when using inner join,left join, or using case when in the sql, it will pop up Entry-SQL syntax error.
    But I have run the sql in Microsoft SQL Server studio successfully.
    The SQL statement "UPDATE SAPNWDDB.Z_SERIAL SET LASTSERIAL = CASE WHEN ENDWITH IS NOT NULL THEN CASE WHEN LASTSERIAL + 1 > ENDWITH THEN ISNULL(STARTWITH, 0) ELSE LASTSERIAL + 1 END ELSE LASTSERIAL + 1 END WHERE SERIALNO = ?" contains the syntax error[s]: - 1:43 - Entry-SQL syntax error: CASE not allowed
    - 1:78 - Entry-SQL syntax error: CASE not allowed
    - 1:124 - SQL syntax error: the token "(" was not expected here
    Can someone help me? Thank you.

    Hi Arun Jaiswal ,
    Thank you for your answer. But I have tried query in sql editor. Actually it can work. Other than "CASE" syntax, it seems not support inner join and left join in webdynpro either. I even can not query the db views.
    That's imposible jdbc not support these simple syntex. I wonder there is any config control the sql compatibility level.
    I have developped a java programm to test it. It is ok. No error. But the same case pop up error in java webdynpro application.I don't know why.
    I am entry level webdynpro developper.
    Hopefully you can help me.
    Thank you.

  • Activation of ABAP not possible due to wrong syntax error

    Hi All,
    I copied some FORMs in a new include, to keep the "old" includes as they are after testing the bugfix.
    Now I face the syntax error, that all of this copies methods are already there "a FORM already exists with this Name..."
    BUT: This is not true, each copied FORM only exists once in the program. All includes are active, just the newest I created. I cannot activate it.
    Even If I reneame the FORMs, then I get the error for the new name, I've never used before.
    Do you have any suggestions, what to do?
    regards
    Volker

    Hi Volker ,
    Either you replace old include program with New include  then your new FORM will be cativate and if you cahnge Form Name with different then please check where  old perform was there and change perform name also in  your include program then it will be work.

    Am i missing something?
    Data in referred tables (infocubes) isn't really important.
    Is there a safe way to proceed?
    Thanks in advance.

    And this is the strange point: my source system is not a BI and my dataclasses .SQL files are not empty.
    Me too i would expect that the files should be empty but instead they are full of object definitions.
    For example i have APPL0.SQL that contains a list of all tables of ECC system, for example
    tab: MAMT
    sql:     CREATE TABLE "MAMT"
            ("MANDT" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000003)
            DEFAULT '000' NOT NULL,
            "MATNR" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000018)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "SPRAS" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000001)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "MEINH" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000003)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "MTXID" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000002)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL,
            "LFDNR" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000002)
            DEFAULT '00' NOT NULL,
            "MAKTM" SAPDB6VARCHAR(000040)
            DEFAULT ' ' NOT NULL)
            IN "&location&"
            INDEX IN "&locationI&"
            LONG  IN "&locationL&"
          COMPRESS YES;
          ALTER TABLE "MAMT" LOCKSIZE ROW;
    and like this for all others tables.
    What would occur if i launch an import with such .SQL files?
    (shuld i put this question to another thread or is fine for you to answer on this?)
    Thank you again.

  • Syntax error while running the Adobe Form

    Hi to all,
    I have created an interface for adobe from
    Example:  F4_HELP type ZST
    Where ZST  is structure type.
    ZST structure has following field.
    1)     MATERIAL type MATNR
    2)     BASE_QTY type BASMN (BASMN of type QUAN, length 13 with ref table RC29K, and ref field BMEIN)
    Interface and form successful activated.
    But when I run adobe from it give syntax error for ref table RC29K, and ref field BMEIN
    Field u201CRC29K- BMEIN u201Cis unknown. It is neither in one of the specified tables nor defined by a "DATA" statement.
    Please can anyone tell me the solution for that?
    I shall be thankful to you for this.
    Regards
    Pavneet Rana

    Thanks For reply
    I have already maintained the ref table and field for field BASE_QTY type BASMN
    Ref table RC29K, and ref field BMEIN.
    But still error is coming.
    please can any one tell me the solution for that.
    i shall be thankful to you for this.
    Regards
    Pavneet Rana

  • Syntax Error while running step 34 (35) after unicode conversion

    Hello,
    We are converting our test system to Unicode to find out how to do it
    in our production system. We are at step 34/35 (Starting RFC job's) in
    the database installation so we are almost done but we have encounted a
    problem that we can't find a solution to. The error log in Sapinst give this
    information:
    ERROR      2008-11-09 11:19:19 [iaxxrfcimp.cpp:1103]           CAbRfcImpl::performFunctionCall FRF-00025  Unable to call function.
    Error message: ?`>?/?????????>??????/_???&<?(????????????????????????????????????????????????? .
    At the same time we can read the following text in dev_w1 (and dev_w0 and so on):
    A  *** ERROR => Syntax error in program SAPLBTCH                                 [abgen.c      1388]
    A  *** ERROR => > Include LBTCHF39                                 line 173 [abgen.c      1390]
    A  *** ERROR => > Statement "âu2018âu2018âu2018âu2018âu2018IF" is not defined. Check your spelling. spelling. [abgen.c      1393]
    The error don't always look the same, here is another example:
    A  *** ERROR => Syntax error in program SAPLSALC                                 [abgen.c      1388]
    A  *** ERROR => > Include LSALCU54                                 line 55 [abgen.c      1390]
    A  *** ERROR => > No component exists with the name "MTSYSIDâu2018MTMCNAMEâu2018MTNUMRANGEâu2018MTUIDâu2018". "MTSYSID [abgen.c      1393]
    A  *** ERROR => > âu2018MTMCNAMEâu2018MTNUMRANGEâu2018MTUIDâu2018". [abgen.c 1395]
    The common thing is Syntax error. If we try to log in to the system using SAP Gui we get this message: "Syntax error in program SAPMS380".
    In the file dev_disp we can read a lot of these:
    Tue Nov 11 14:06:32 2008
    *** WARNING => DpRqServiceQueue: timeout of HIGH PRIO msg, return DP_CANT_HANDLE_REQ
    But we should have enough WP since noone has loggen on to the system.
    Facts:

  • Syntax error when running GLPLUP - Flex Plan Upload

    HI,
    We want use transaction GLPLUP to perform a Flex Plan Upload, but encounter a syntax error in program RK50003 stating:
    The following syntax error occurred in program "RK500003 " in include
      "PP_FISL_GINC " in
    line 652:
    "The data object "ITDAT1" does not have a component called "XBILK"."
    This program is a local object, and appears to be generated by SAP.  Checking the program attributes the owner and the last person to change this program is a consultant who has rolled off the project, and is not available for help.
    I suspect that there must be some steps to regenerate this code, but I am not certain where to look for this information.
    I have tried running GLPLDEL and GLPLINSTALL, but this did not change RK500003.
    Any insight you can provide on this is greatky appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Roy

    HI,
    I reported this issue with SAP and the following is what they had me do to resolve the issue:
    1. Run transaction GLPLDEL:
    Deletes all generated reports of the planning processor for
    FI-GL/SL planning (application class GLU1). After a new call of
    the planning, these reports will be generated once again.
    2. Run transaction GLPLINSTALL:
    It regenerates necessary database table entries for FI-G/SL Planning
    (tables t8pl*). Make sure that you will perform this step when no
    posting of FI-SL data is running.
    This resolved the issue for us.
    Good luck,
    Roy

  • Session keeps running when the query has a syntax error

    I have a weird scenario.
    Take this query for example: select distinct physassignednum from hsi.docdeficiency where delinqlevel> 0 and dfcystatus in (1,6));
    This query has a syntax error as there is an additional bracket at the end. I know that. When I run it on STJOSE database the session keeps running and never returns. Even if I stop it, it does not. I try to disconnect, it says "Connection is currently busy. Try again?" This behavior is pretty consistent on STJOSET. If I run this query on UMASS database it gives me this error (as expected)
    ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
    00933. 00000 - "SQL command not properly ended"
    *Cause:
    *Action:
    Error at Line: 1 Column: 99
    I do not know what is wrong with the STJOSE database connection that causes the session to hang and never return.
    Please help.

    This does not happen in sql*plus. It does not hang. It returns a proper error message.

    Hi ,
    I am getting below error frequently in alert log of database.
    ORA-12012: error on auto execute of job 754461
    ORA-29279: SMTP permanent error: ORA-29279: SMTP permanent error: 501 Syntax error, parameters in command "RCPT TO:" unrecognized or missing
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_SMTP", line 20

    ORA-06512: at "APPS.HKD_PO_ADDON_PKG", line 110
    ORA-06512: at line 1

    You have a job running in the database. Its job ID is 754461
    It looks as if that job runs APPS.HKD_PO_ADDON_PKG
    That job is attempting to send mail using UTL_SMTP and apparently passing some strange value to SMTP server for the RCPT TO: parameter.

  • Syntax error running J2EE server

    I am trying to run the J2EE server in windows 98, I have set all of the enviroment variables but recieve 3 syntax errors when I run the J2EE program, it then attempts to run java but it acts as though the program has been run with no arguments passed and just tells me the possible arguments for the java program, could u please help me

    Leviking ... what do you mean by a non-server machine?a non server machine is called a workstation, it is usually a machine that other machines on the network do not depend on.
    If I have a j2ee server (for example JBoss, Websphere, Resin, etc.) installed and running on my machine (be it >win95), I'm in business, ain't I?sure but if you follow your class well you know that a J2EE server is a distributed server that enables clients(workstations) to access a large object store ( bin) and that centrelizes the informations, that's why a win 98 machine alone is only good for developping and learning at home and will be no good to a business for example.
    If you mean that the machine won't be able to handle the load ... well, for testing and learning ... there ain't no load >so that be the purpose! your definetly right here to learn and try stuff it's good but load control is an important part of a well develop j2ee application. and i tough you would of like to know it
    keep up the good work
