Solaris versions and updating OS
I have several Solaris 10 servers that were installed with the 11/06 and 8/07 media kit. In order to update them I could:
a) install the latest "Recommended and Security" patch cluster or
b) completely reinstall using the 5/08 media kit.
If option "a" will get me there I don't see any reason to reinstall from scratch. Is this correct? Is there any reason I would want to reinstall from scratch using the new media? Is there anything that wouldn't be updated using method "a"?

I am getting this error message every time I turn on the computer. I have the Airport Extreme wireless router. This has been occuring for the last 2-3 months. I have been to the support page and downloaded current versions and updates. I don't think I have a firewall ( I have AVG virus protection). Also, the scanner part of my printer/scanner/copier has not worked since we installed the router. Help!

By way of experiment, try installing the latest version of iTunes for Windows:

That should update your mDNSResponder to version 2.0.5.0 ... with the newer Bonjour componentry in place, do you still get the error when switching on the PC?
If so, is the modver being shown now 2.0.5.0? Or is it still 2.0.4.0? -
I am having trouble with firefox in facebook games links. Games do not load. Adobe flashplayer is the right version and is the latest for firefox. I have firefox 3.6.6. I have also installed windows flashplayer 10 plugin content debugger. I also changed the hangtime changing the sec to -1 from 45, previously. I have windows xp service pack 3 home edition. 2100 Mhz AMD processor, 512 MB memory, 2 GB virtual memory. adobe version is 10,0,42,34 I have adobe flashplayer 10 active x, adobe flashplayer 10 plugin, adobe reader 9.3, shockwave flash 10.1.53.64 with shockwave director 6.0.0.55 macromedia shockwave for director netscape plugin version 6.0, and shockwave director 11.0.3.470 adobe shockwave for director netscape plug-in, version 11.0. I have had problems with Adobe DLM version 1.6.2.63 as it is not compatable with firefox 3.6.6.

Turns out that although libjavaplugin_oji.so is still shipped with Java, it's only there to support older browsers.
With Firefox 3.6 and later, the link in plugins should instead point to jre/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so

Itunes will not stay close ever since I updated to 10.5.3 version. I try to close program and it pops right back up! The only way to close is open tack manager and stop the itunes.exe and the itunes.help then it will stay close. I did a system restore back to the earlier version of itunes but problem presisted. I finally did the task manager again and downloaded the update to 10.5.3 and this seemed to resolve the problem for awhile but now it is back! Is anybody else experiencing this problem? and where you able to correct it? I'm running Windows 7 64 bit have never had a problem with anything till now. I ran scans of my machine no viruses.

i have exactely the same problem.
After the update to v10.5.3 iTunes isn't shutting down anymore. I have this error on various Windows versions (XP SP3, Win7 x86, Win7 x64.
On my private Notebook v10.5.2.11 still works! I won't update iTunes there - not even for a test .

Codecs; will Vp9 be supported by adobe in future versions and updates? why?

Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, and historically, the PrPro Development Team have been fairly "closed lipped," regarding upcoming features for support. Those who would know, are probably bound by their NDA's to not discuss such, until the time is appropriate. Then, you might get a comment, or perhaps even a Blogpost. It is not that they are ignoring you, but are bound to not share such info, until the right time.
With the on-going development of PrPro CC, and the on-going deployment of Updates, such an inclusion of support might come about much sooner (if it IS being supported), rather than the old ~18 mo. deployment schedule.
Good luck, and when the time is right, an Adobe engineer will likely give us all the info.

CF8 Flex SDK Version and Update
I'm new to Flex so this is probably a basic question. When
creating a new Flex project I have an option, under the Flex SDK
version (properties of the particular project) to select either a
specific SDK or the server's SDK. Now I have CF8 installed as my
application server. Is there a way to tell what version of the Flex
SDK is installed with CF8? If it's an older version, or when Flex 3
SDK is finalized, how do I go about "upgrading" the Flex SDK in the

Latest Solaris 9 and 10 versions
Hi guys,
Got a simple question: what are latest versions (releases) of Solaris 9 and 10?
I'm asking this cause :
-according to oracle.com and wikipedia.com, the latest version of Solaris 10 is Solaris 10 8/11; but http://wesunsolve.net/bundles states that there is a new release happened on 2011-12-23
-for Solaris 9, wikipedia says Solaris 9 9/05 is the lastest, but same http://wesunsolve.net says there's a new release on 2011-11-03 (so it should be Solaris 9 11/11).

My computer runs on Windows 7, and I've installed and updated the latest versions of itunes etc, but still to no avail! I've tried different usb ports, troubleshooting, etc... But it still says "One of the USB decuces arrached to this omputer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it".
The iPod is brand new, sent to me by Apple as part of the 1st gen replacement programme. I've been using the cable that came with the 1st gen iPod (I bought the first gen second hand) It always worked on my computer with the 1st gen iPod. So I was wondering, do you think I need to replace my cable in order for my PC to recognize my iPod or is it something else?

Every time I update LR to a new version I seem to need a patch to make it work..... once again here I am SOS! I've just update LR to the 5.7 version and It wont let me start it: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b).
Your system is missing a couple DLLs that LR needs, but the fix at Adobe is to copy them to the LR folder which gets replaced for each install, so you have to redo it after each LR install. It would be worth documenting the process and saving the DLLs so you don’t have to ask about it each time:

You might also use the AIO210 program to add them as detailed in this YouTube video—maybe this is a more permanent fix, but since the files are from media-fire be very careful about what you do so as not to install a virus on your computer.
I’d scan the downloaded ZIP you download with whatever virus and internet security software you have and don’t be fooled by extraneous popups you might see during the download process. I was able to download the aio210.zip after authorizing one Captcha window and closed at least one bogus popup trying to get me to install other software. You need iTunes 10.0 or greater to update your phone...iTunes isn't confused at all. If you're on a Mac, you'll need OS X 10.5.8 or greater to update iTunes to 10.0 or greater.

I downloaded version 11 on itunes and updated my ipod to os6, when I try to open itunes now, it says it downloaded incorrectly and won't open. It says to reinstall itunes. Will I lose my whole music library if I reinstall itunes?
you will not loose your content at all. It is still sitting in your hard drive even if you uninstall itunes.
Once itunes will be reinstalled , it will re-sync your stuff on your hard drive -
I am running Firefox 4.0 version, but for some reason, it tries to download updates and then gets stuck on trying to connect to the update server. This has been happening the past few days. When I close the update, I can proceed in Firefox without incident (that I know of).

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox. -

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:
