Sold my iPod Touch 32gb, now own an iPhone 3GS 16gb...iTunes problem

Here is my problem. I sold my iPod Touch and I have a bunch of apps on my laptop in iTunes I want to put into my iPhone 3GS. When I click sync it says do you wish to continue? if you continue all of your iPhone apps will be deleted and replaced with apps from your iTunes library. Whats up with that? Why cant I just pick the apps up and put them on my phone without deleting the apps on my phone?? Annoying. Thanks if you can help

amateur. I figured it out. I just misunderstood what it said I suppose. After you click continue your allowed to pick and choose which applications to transfer over from pc>iphone. Very simple. Disreguard this post!

I updated my ipod touch and now it won't work but itunes says everything is fine. What should I do?

I was updating my itouch that I got in September to the IOS 5 and everything went fine until the end of the update when it was creating a new back-up of the information on the itouch. When I saw that it didn't work and it told me to restore the previous bakc-up I tried that, but nothing happened. Itunes was doing a lot of work but my ipod touch didn't show that anything was happening. My ipod touch wants me to go back through the set up and when it gets to the part where you can restore a previous back-up I tell it to do that. The problem then is that it tells you to connect it to itunes and I do but the itouch doesn't seem to realize that it is plugged into itunes. Then I try to restore the old back-up form itunes and it immeadiately pops up saying htat it can't because of error: ipod (-50).

Ipod touch will now not sync, show up on itunes

itunes has been hanging today then giving the following error ' couldnt connect unknown error oxe8000001
I have unplugged all USB cables -restarted both mac and ipod - deleted all itune prefs and reinstalled
but still nothing - was working fine yesterday!
spent the last 3 hrs fannying about with it!

When you say you unplugged all usb cables, you mean unplugged all usb cables while you are trying to sync the ipod correct? Make sure the ipod cable is plugged into a usb port on the computer not through a keyboard or through any other type of usb hub.

thanks but if Im using iCloud For my Iphone and backing my ipod touch to my computer is that ok or would I have to back both up to ICloud. As u can telll, I want to kep the 2 devices seperate as much as possible, only putting on my phone what i choose to download, buy, or take from my current itunes library most importantly.

32GB iPod Touch Capacity now just 16GB??

My 32GB iPod Touch is now showing a total capacity of just 14.64GB rather than the 29GB or so that was there before.
The iPod froze when I was using Safari and I tried to quit by holding down the Home button, but that didn't work. Then I tried holding down the sleep/wake button, but that did not work either. So, I held down the Home and the sleep/wake button and, eventually, the Apple logo came up and I began the restore process. But, as the files were restoring I noticed that the capacity was 14.64GB.
I have tried restoring a few times and I tried to sync a 25GB playlist, but iTunes told me that there was not enough room on the iPod.
Any suggestions?

It wouldn't be such a problem if it wasn't a four hour drive through the lovely wintery roads to make it to the nearest Apple Store.

New iPod Touch 32gb stalls after starting sync, error 54, manual synce gets dumped

I just got this thing at Walmart last Sunday and its been driving me nuts all week! It's the brand new iPod Touch 32gb 4gen. When trying to sync it will start to load music then stall. Sometimes it gives error code 54, sometimes says it cant convert song, cant find song, or just stalls. If I wait anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour it will finally un-freeze and dump everything or say the connection has timed out. I've ran repair on iTunes from control panel, no help. Un-installed iTunes and re-installed it then tried synce, no help. I un-selected everything in the iPod summary so that it wont try to synce when I connect it and selected manual synce. Then I could sync a few songs at a time, but it still stalls after only loading a few songs on iPod. Tried dumping everything out of the ipod and start over, several times, no help. I've been 6 days, all day, every day, and half the nights getting a few songs at a time on this dam thing. I found when it stalls if I turn the iPod off to force it out of iTunes I can then restart iTunes, reconnect the iPod, manually select 15 to 20 songs and drag them to the iPod. A few times I got over a hundred to sync but usually 20 to 30 songs then it stalls. Then I have to do the whole thing over again. I had a little over 1200 songs out of the 1877 songs, 11.28gb, in my music library when the last time it stalled, it dumped everything. 4 or 5 days of manually syncing a few songs at a time, GONE. Just poof, all that work for nothing. The only thing left on it is 92 of the hundred something songs I've bought from iTunes. I'm ready to take a hammer to the dam thing and send it back to Walmart where I got it.
I'm using a Dell Studio 17 inch laptop that's about 4 yrs old running Windows 7 that I installed 2 years ago. I had a iPod nano 2gb that worked fine with this computer & iTunes untill it died last spring.
Why do you have it set up so that one little hickup and the dam thing dumps everything thats on it? I cant even stop it from starting to sync when I connect it because I need to see the settings in the summary for the iPod to change the settings, but I cant see that until I connect it, but as soon as I connect it, it try's to start the sync and stalls feezing everything.
Can anybody help me before this thing drives me completely over the edge!?

I have a older Dell Optiplex desktop computer running Windows XP. I copied the iTunes folder on my laptop to an external drive and plugged that into my desktop computer. Then connected the iPod Touch to the desktop. For some reason or other the computer thought the iPod was a camera and wanted to know which photo program to open with or for it. I never did get iTunes on my desktop computer to "see" the iPod and had to give up that idea.
When going into the My Computer or Windows Explorer - which is the one I like to use for working with my files- when I connect the iPod to my computer in Windows Explorer it will show the iPod. Open that and it shows Internal Storage, open that and a folder with DCIM shows below it, open that and a folder with 860OKMZO on it shows below that, open that and it has the 40 or 50 photos I saved from Facebook. That's it, there isn't anything else shown in its storage. The iTunes on my old Desktop doesn't see the iPod Touch either.
Even if the iTunes on my old desktop would work with this iPod Touch it wouldn't do me any good. I read in a post that once it is connected to a iTunes Library, if its connected to any other iTunes Library on a different computer it will dump everything that's on it. Which is totally stupid but I think they - iTunes - have it that way so that you cant share your music with somebody elses computer. But that also makes it so I cant manually sync one thing at a time with my own iTunes Library. I tried syncing my music first and after I got some of it on the iPod, in its summary I deselected the music sync and selected the movies or video's so I could manually synce a few to it to see if it would work. Bad move. As soon as I did that it dumped everything that was on it, then said that it could not sync the movies because the files could not be written. HUH? Why a video from YouTube could not be written beats me. But why did it dump all the music?
The last thing I did with it was put all the options in the summary in iTunes back to default, removed everything on the iPod that was left after its last dump, then disconnected it, closed iTunes, and rebooted my laptop and started over from scratch. Started iTunes, connected the iPod, after iTunes found it I opened the iPod summary, made sure everything except sync photo's was selected, then started the sync function. It immediately listed all the songs and the songs info in light gray under music on the iPod. It only got 2 songs copied, then stalled. I just left it alone to see what it would do. I opened the Windows Task Manager to see what it was doing. Even though the iTunes program appered to be stalled it was using 50% of the CPU. After about 15 minutes it showed a popup window saying the song could not be writen then another saying its connection to the iPod had timed out, then iTunes stalled and "not responding" showed in task manager and at the top of the iTunes window. After 30 minutes I had to force it to close with the Task Manager. By then it was after midnight and had been another 12 hours wasted messing with this thing.

I just don't get it. I got the iPod from a friend which didn't use it at all. If I connect my iPad or iPad mini to my mac, they all get connected well and iTunes sees them too. iPod touch not for some reason
The iPod touch is completely new, no missing contacts etc. It works on other macs as well. Only my iMac doesn't see the iPod Touch. Maybe I can repost this problem in The IMAC section in stead of the iPod Touch, since I think its a iMac problem from now on...

If you weren't able to sync the purchases to a computer previously and now your iPod needs to be restored so you can't sync it now, then you may be out of luck and will need to purchase your content again. Officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications and iBooks. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
You can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". You'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) ") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.

I just restored my 32Gb Ipod Touch and now Itunes will not let me sync some of my apps to my Ipod. My Ipod software is all up to date. Some of my apps will download but others will not. Take Fruit Ninja for example, When I select the app to sync to my Ipod and hit apply it says...waiting for sync to start, preparing to sync, determining tracks to sync, waiting for changes to be applied then the app disappears and is not on my ipod. I bought this app today as well as 2 others. Alot of my free apps will download but not ones that are paid for. All apps are compatable with the Ipod Touch. Please Help!

Problems Connecting iPod Touch 32GB to WiFi

I have just purchased an iPod Touch 32GB and am having problems connecting to a server. I am using a Netgear DG834 router to connect to Orange. Netgear is now showing as checked on the Wi-Fi Networks page on the iPod with strong signal strength but I keep cannoy getting the message "could not connect to server" whenever I try any of the applications. Needless to say, the internet connections on my laptop and desktop are working perfectly. Thanks. Grant

Have you tried resetting your router? sometimes this is all you need to do to get the IPT to work properly. If you are using any type of security such as WEP or WPA2 then you are going to need to enter your password. Try a reset and then go to your wifi settings in the IPT and select your router and then click on the little blue arrow and check under DHCP and make sure you have an IP along with a router Ip and DNS entries. If you don't have a router IP or DNS entries try and renew the lease.
If you can't get it to work then reset the router again but this time try it without any security and do the same procedure as above. If that still doesn't work then the only other thing I can suggest is to look on Netgears website and see if there is a firmware upgrade for your router and to give that a try.

Sold my ipod years ago, now have a itouch 4G I need help

Years ago I sold my ipod nano but now I just bought a itouch 4G off of ebay. I tried connecting the cable to my computer where I stored my nano songs but I couldn't get the touch's icon to show up on itunes. At best, the adapter indicated that it was charging the battery. To further complicate things I have a new Apple ID, which is obviously different from the one I had years ago. I don't think I can get my original ID's password back since I retired the email and can't request for password. Can you please help me in transferring songs from my computer to my itouch?
By the way, is there any way to find out a WIFI password? I have no clue how to figure out my home's WIFI password.

Aren't they already loaded on your iPod? If they are why do you need to reload?
Unlike music you can redownload Apps Store purchases without being charged again. Make sure you are logged into your iTunes account and the computer you are on is Authorized.
