Solid yellow block appearing behind text on the iPad.

I am having an issue with a small yellow block about 8 characters long that appears when I preview a file on the ipad. It does not show up inside the program only upon exporting for preview.
Have checked to make sure there are no random shape boxes, text boxes, etc., behind. Deleted all the text and the pages and it still shows up when I add the text back. Thought it might be related to imported text so I dumped the text into text edit before copying and pasting. Still the same result.
Any help?

Paste this into Terminal and hit return. If this attachment is text, it should work. Not sure about jpegs.

The iPad doesn't have any text over cellular capabilities. You can use apps like Text Free to send texts to non-iOS devices, though.

Glossary appearing behind text

Hi i am using a glossary interaction.
Ive added it to my first slide and it works ok. I have a button on my master slide that makes this pop-up.
When i click this button on th esecond slide or any other... the glossary appears behind the the and smart shape objects.
Can anyone pleas etell me how to sort thi so that it always appears on top?

HT1351 iPad 1 is unsuccessfully WiFi syncing to 2009 Mac Pro Tower 10.8.2, via my router. It makes iTunes block, I can not enter the iPad to tell it NOT to try and sync, because it can't access that dialog. OS 10.8.2 ***** since day 1

The rainbow circle comes on as soon as the iTunes tries to recognize the iPad 1.
And from that point it is a loop I can not break except via Force Quit.
I am awaiting a Snow Lep[ard disk to tray and remove Mountain Lion
which has been trouble since the day of original instalation.
I have had to twice reload Mounatain Lion via the net
and It is still dangerously unstable on my earl 2009 intel machine.
One very unhappy camper here.

Also with WiFi off on iPad I can run iTunes,
but use USB to connect the iPad and it all goes bad again.
I can find no way to make itunes and iPad recognize each other.
It just keeps looping around.

TS1500 NO dialog appears when I attach the iPad to the computer.

This gives me a BIG headache:
While connecting the iPad to the computer I HEAR the connecting sound
(also when I disconnect the iPad) but I DON'T SEE the iPad in any window.
Supposedly there is a simple fix but I'm a newbie and get lost in this mayhem
of information(s).
I am asking for help because the recently installed iTunes app keeps turning off
so I cannot transfer videos. Erasing and re-installing iTunes did not help at all...

To just add a little more to this discussion - when you connect the iPad to your Mac - if iTunes does not start on its won - launch the application yourself. Then - as Ralph is saying - your iPad should appear on the left hand side of the iTunes window under the Devices heading. After you click on the iPad on the left side to select it - then the so called "iPad management screen" should appear. That management screen is what you see in the iTunes window on the right. You can click on the Photos Tab at the top of the screen to get to the area where you can manage your photos in iTunes.

A 1 pixel gap appears on webpage on the ipad or when zoomed on a Mac with Firefox 4

I'm having an issue with a website having a 1 pixel gap under various OS's and browsers.

When viewed on an iPad it shows a 1 pixel gap on the right side of the link icons. When you zoom on the iPad, the gap disappears and reappears at random zoom factors.
When viewed on my Mac Pro under Firefox (version 4) it is fine to start, but when zoomed, random images have the 1 pixel gap sometimes above and below or to the left or right or sometimes both above/below and left/right.
I'm not over worried about the behaviour of Firefox...since it is only when the page is zoomed.
When I view it on my Windows PC, I have no issue with the gap under Firefox 3 or 4, or IE.
Any thoughts on what is going on?

Have you thought of entering the following code at the very top of your CSS file?
                margin: 0;
                padding: 0;
                border: 0;
This should reset the browser of your iPad and FF in Mac. I use neither so I can't test it at my end. the above code is not likely to affect any other standards compliant browsers.

note behind the 'Q' and the 'B' there is a strange blob appearing? I've used this same exact text effect in dozens of clips with no weirdness and now this. Any ideas as to the cause and solution?

Try changing your Alpha type in FCP, OR - bring the
material into Motion and don't just lay the motion
material over your FCP clip...

the photo was sent (via 'send to...') to Motion from FCP. There is nothing in FCP that is layered.
After going back and forth to Motion a few more times, the poltergeists seem to have flown away. Weird huh?

Search Bar : "Go button only appears when text in the bar"

With the new update they have made it so that the "Search" button in the "Search bar" only appears when there is text on it.
While probably a minor (in)convinence for most, it had become a browsing habit for me, to middle mouse click the search in an empty search to take me to "google.com" in a new tab (or whatever search engine was set).
I would like to know if its possible to tweak something in order to bring back the search button so it stays there.
I know there is easy workarounds for this (bookmark comes to mind), but having browsed like this for many years I would like to continue doing so if possible.

Hmm, it takes a little doing, but I think so.
When the bar is empty, the code that generates the little image of the arrow has a new attribute set, which is hidden="true". There is a corresponding style rule to suppress the arrow when hidden="true". You can use a custom style rule to override the built-in rules, and apply it to the interface using either:
* Stylish extension ([https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/])
* userChrome.css file ([http://kb.mozillazine.org/userChrome.css])

Can I block a spam text on the 4s

I am getting many Spam texts from 6250. Is there anyway to block a number?

If in the US, sending Spam SMS's is illegal. If on AT&T, forward the Spam SMS to 7726, you'll receive a reply asking for the number the Spam came from. I'm sure the other carriers in the US have a similar function.

HT4236 pictures don't appear in order on the ipad

When I sync'd my pictures from my iTunes (10 - MAC) to my iPad (2), my pictures did not appear in the same order as they do in iPhoto (11). How can I fix this to reorganize my pictures to appear on my iPad in the correct order?

Anyone have a tip or app for removing unwanted formatting from text on the iPad?

I have text that was created in Word, sent via email, received on my iPad. I need to get all of the hidden formatting stripped out of this text before pasting into another application. The Notes app works in plain text, but it does not strip all the formatting out of text that has been pasted into it. Anyone have a solution? I have looked at online services and searched for apps but can't seem to find anything that does this.

I also am looking for a better email client. I need the ability to use folders and have email go directly to these folders when checking email. Just sending all email to only one inbox folder is just to confusing. I like the ability to search for email but this feature only helps to a degree. An example would be... I like all my email from tennis friends on my team to go to a separate email folder. I can do this in Microsoft Outlook and this feature makes it a lot easier to view things. Right now the email client is like a physical filling cabnet that has only one folder. The email client does try to group related emails together that I don't think works very well. So far not all email from one person are being grouped together. Some are but not all so I don't know what criteria it is using to determine what is grouped together. To work better I would like every piece of email from the same person to be grouped together. But then again wouldn't it be easer to just have a separate folder for each person or group of people. The reason for this is at a glance there are so many emails in my inbox that I sometimes miss an email. Using folders would allow me to check and scan my inbox a lot easier when there are only maybe a dozen email to view.
Anyone else would like to see this feature?

If you go to the Wrench icon in the corner and tap go to help... it will take you to the online documentation. Read as much as you can and you will learn an awful lot about what you can do with it.
there is also a "getting started" document that is really good to learn from. It should have been installed with your Numbers install as the only file in the file list. Tab #4 "Adding Cell Content" is the one your looking for, and you should walk through them all, actually doing the small exercises they have.

Does anyone know how to avoid the Ok, upload, thumbnails links that appeares when you touche the ipad screen when viewing an interactive pdf?

i'm trying to read several interactive pdf on my ipad, but when i touch the screen it ppeares a top bar with "ok" that if i touch it closes the pdf, an upload button, & the thumbnails of the pages on the righ side of the screen appears too. Does anybody know how to avoid it? Thank's

Are you saying that all pages appear blank when you open the particular PDF document (AINF....pdf) in Adobe Reader for iOS? It may be due to a bug in Adobe Reader for iOS.
You mentioned "links"...There are three different actions that the desktop version of Adobe Reader supports for links.
Go to a page view (within the same document)
Open a web page
Open a file
Adobe Reader mobile products (for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) support the first two but does not support opening a PDF file or any other types of files.
Additionally, hyperlinks are not visible in Adobe Reader mobile products. (It used to show hyperlinks in light blue highlight. But due to customer complaints, hyperlink highlighting has been disabled.)
Please let us know if you can share your PDF document with us (Adobe). We can take a look at it and diagnose the cause of the problem. Thank you.
