SOLMAN 4 Post Install problem

Need Help on this following ENVIRONMENT
SOLMAN4.0 (ABAP+JAVA) STACK
DB:MSSQL 2005
OS:WIN2003 (32bit)
JAVA: JRE_1.4.2_12.
After restarting the server the J2EE engine as expected and i have to log into SMICM and send restart j2ee instance. WIll changing the rdisp/j2ee=0/1 paramter to 1 would resolve this problem or are there any post install steps which i need to check for the java stack, The install doc didnt have much information about JAVA.
Thanks in advacne

Srini,
I had tried loggin http://localhost:50100 (01-instance) but it throws me 404 error page cannot be displayed only after i send the restart--J2ee from SMCICM will this allows me to loggin to http://localhost:50100. My questions is after every restart of the server do i have to run this SMICM (to restart the J2ee) shudnt it re-start automatically.. Does setting the paramter rdisp/j2ee would allow for this change to happen.
2Q) What post install steps should i do for the JAVA side (the Instal document wasnt helpful) Any help or location of notes is highly helpful.
Thanks
Thanks,

I am having problems running sqlplus after installing

The error I get when trying to use sqlplus is:

  • 11i post install problem on winXP

    Hi,
I installed 11i on my xp machine. Staging is done, pre-install checks are also done. Then it begins installation, progress bar appears and then it goes fast and progress bar is 100% in 2 mins and the progress bar window disappears.
I am not getting any post install check review window where it shows all the JSP,HTTP and so on checks. Please advise what could be the problem.
Tried restarting the rapidwizard.cmd command but again its same.

I am not sure what is the error. I will appreciate if you help me. Here is the log (I think this is the log),

  • Archppc G4 powerbook 12" post install problem

After install, boot process hangs early.  Last message is something about ioremap.  The machine sits there for a few minutes then reboots by itself.  I chrooted into the install and added the pata_macio module to the modules line in etc/mkinitcpio.conf.  I also added a hard KERNELVERSION="2.6.38-ARCH" instead of the default variable in /sbin/mkinitcpio because the script wouldn't allow me to build the image with the uname -r being 2.6.37-ARCH from the installer cd.
I noticed the default video mod is noveau but my experience with debian was that nouveau didn't work with this machine.
I also have a somewhat odd setup in that the built in keyboard has a stuck "p" key so I disconnected the keyboard and I'm using a usb keyboard.  It worked with debian and it works with the installer, the proof being that I'm posting inside the live installer cd with this keyboard.
I imagine it's obvious I'm just winging it here but after trying to glean hints from the usual sources I haven't been able to fix it.  So hopefully some brighter than me can nudge me along because I'm rather confused now.
    Thanks in advance.
edit:  I'm guessing this is a kernel panic.  I added "usbinput" to HOOKS= in mkinitcpio.conf and rebuilt kernel26.img inside a chroot but no joy.  I managed to get a "screenshot" with my camera... http://i52.tinypic.com/qs71u1.jpg (1600x1200) since I didn't find anything in /var/log/(wtvr it was).

I have a similar problem on a Power Mac G4 (mirrored drive door kind); I had made the decision (foolishly) to update an existing install of arch, which originally triggered this problem. Reinstalling using the newer iso didn't seem to fix it. I am also thinking it's some sort of kernel panic, but I can't seem to find any other documentation as to whether the vanilla 2.6.38.x kernel specifically has bugs with ppc/G4s. I'm thinking it's a specific package problem with the new arch kernel package for ppc.
Did you manage to resolve this at all? If not, I'll probably be doing my own investigations to see if there's a way to get updated arch to work on the G4s.
Attached are the screenshots of my monitor (since it seems to panic early):

The ORA9i DS package installed successfully into my XP laptop. Now after every reboot I get a pop-up message: "agntsrvc.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close ...".
Preliminary DB review allows me to make DB connections. The "agntsrvc.exe" file exists in (2) places:

  • WebAS ABAP 6.40 Post install problem

I am having a problem with the install of the ABAP component for Web AS 6.40.  I have used Sql Server 2000 (8) as the database on a windows Server 2003 operating system.  The system appears to have installed correctly (as far as I can tell).
I am at the point of having started and stopped the Sap Sytem according to page 88 section 1.71 of the associated install guide (SAP WebAS Server ABAP 6.40 on Windows SQL Server).  The system starts but according to the management console process list the "disp+work.exe" Dispatcher is stopped.
I haven't found any solutions to this so far, perhaps someone might have a suggestion as to how to proceed.
    Thanks.

It looks more likely to be something to do with the database.  I may have missed something in the install I just can't think what exactly (I'm not a basis person at all so I am just following the guides for installing a Mobile Infrastructure 2.5 server).  I am trying to install the WEBAS ABAP + J2EE as well as MI 2.5 components on the one server.  These will link to an already established IDES system.
From the Syslog I am getting a lot of the following errors
Database: Database error 0      at CON
Followed at the end by these errors :
SAP Basis System: Initialization           DB-Connect Failed, Return Code  000256
SAP Basis System: Operating system call           recv failed (error no. 10054)
Any ideas on this would be helpful as its a bit of a mystery to me.  Thanks for the suggestions so far.

  • T61 Soundmax Install/Post-Install Problem XPSP3

T61 with Lenovo-supplied XP downgrade installed (now SP3). The Soundmax drivers need to be reinstalled periodically. On some boots the drivers load and the sound functions are usable, on other boots a message is displayed that the Soundmax drivers must be reinstalled. At other times, the Soundmax quits functioning w/o notice during a session, to be discovered only if an attempt to enable the sound is made (my sound is off most of the time, enabled only when it is necessary -- e.g. a video or audio clip).
I uninstalled the Soundmax drivers that were installed on the system during the downgrade installation. I then installed the latest Soundmax drivers from Lenovo's download site (v5.10.01.5520). The same scenario continues. The only aspect that is different is that the failure-to-load message at boot, when it occurs, is a different dialog.
It is frustrating having to frequently go through reinstallation of the drivers and two reboots to get sound working whenever it fails -- and that occurs frequently.
Can the location of the driver files on the HDD a factor? (installed in):
             c:\Program Files\Analog Devices\SoundMAX\
The previous version was intalled in:
              c:\drivers\AUDIO\SoundMAX\
Any ideas, suggestions, etc. on curing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

  • Post-Install Problem with External Firewire drive

I just installed Tiger 10.4.3 and the computer would not reboot. It would stop prior to the Starting Mac OS X progress bar and gray out letting me know that the computer needs to restart.
I finally got it to boot successfully by unplugging or turning orr my external Maxtor Firewire drive. The external drive was plugged during the install process (mistake?)
Via Software upgrade, I upgraded to 10.4.6 in the hopes that this would solve the issue. No luck and when turning the drive on, it immediately goes right to the gray screen and lets me know it will need to reboot.
Is this a known problem with a known solution? Did I FUBAR my drive somehow? Any suggestions for righting to ship?
    Thanks!

  • Post install problem. Changes to the state or options of DB SUSDB can't be made at this time. DB Is in single-user mode.

    Hi,
Have you ever come across this problem before.
Changes to the state or options of DB SUSDB can't be made at this time. DB Is in single-user mode and a user is currently connected to it.
It's preventing the post WSUS installation task from completing.
I opted to use the WID Database option and it created the SUSDB.
    How can I resolve it?
    Thanks

this sounds similar to some issues that occurred when KB2720211 was first release (the update does put the DB into single-user mode, to perform some tasks, then switches it back into multi-user mode. sometimes, that switch-back was not performed, and the
DB was left in single-user mode).
You can refer to this thread, the steps are buried in there.

    Hi Andy
I'm not sure what you mean, but if you want to install JDeveloper 3.2 over 3.1, you should uninstall 3.1 first using the Add/Remove feature in the Windows Control Panel. This feature will remove JDev3.1 but will leave your projects alone.
Of course, you can install JDev 3.2 into a new directory, and run them both without any problems, but it's not recommended to share projects between the two installations.
    Hope this helps,
    Orlando

  • 8.1.6 and designer 6i post install problem - please help

    Hello all,
I installed designer following the install guide extremely closely. The install went off without a hitch. However, when I try to create and ERD, or any diagram, I receive this error:
    Message

I'm fairly new to Oracle but I did have designer 6.0 working on 8.1.5.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Damon

The same happened to me. It turns out that it had something to do with old windows registry entries that let the repository install program know that I had designer 6.0 previously installed on my system. The install apparently isn't wise enough to know that it is installing 6i. It checks the registry for the first Designer version identified and decides what repository components you need based on that. 6i uses the standard repository components (6.0 versions) and some new stuff.
If you read your install documentation carefully (Chapter 2, Step 14, Item 2), you will note that you need to select two components to install. If the repository
admin utility is <prior-version-aware> it neglect to even display one of those options and its easy to blow right past that screen without realizing something is amiss (that's what I did ;-P ).
    Hope this gets you going,
As with any Oracle product install

  • Post install problem

as soon as i boot solaris 10 (x86) it says that it can't start x server on display 0
    I have a intel 810 chip set

I run into this all of the time with ATI cards.
    Boot into single-user mode.
Run /usr/X11/bin/xservercfg (or something like that - I can't remember the exact name of the executable. It's too early in the morning. :) )
Answer all of the questions. There are a few of them regarding your mouse and keyboard, but you'll eventually be asked about your video settings. XFree86 contains drivers for hundreds of video chipsets. Just make sure that you get select the video chipset that is closest to yours. Kepp in mind that I'm assuming that the Intel video chipset is in that listed.
When you've answered all of the questions and it asks if you want to save the configuration file, answer "Yes".
When that's done, run kdmconfig and select to use the Xorg server, not Xsun server.
Reboot, and all should be okay.

What I can do to figure out this problem?

Starting from Oracle E-Business Suite R12, Apache no longer comes as a standalone Windows service.
In order to start Apache (and other iAS components) you either start 'Oracle Process Manager for SID_hostname' service from Windows services.
    OR
    Use 'adapcctl.cmd' located under $INST_TOP/admin/scripts
    - To start Apache: adapcctl.cmd start
    - To stop Apache: adapcctl.cmd stop
    - To check the status of Apache (Alive/Down) as well as other iAS components: adapcctl.cmd status
