Solman 7.1 - Monitoring CCMS RZ20 Central Autoreaction Method

Hello,
I'm trying to configure Solution Manager 7.1 for using CCMS.
With new solution manager the connection of systems through SMSY is no longer possible. Aside from that I didn't found a possiblity to assign RFC Destinations for System Monitoring.
I found out that I can connect systems through RZ21 - Menu configure central system - create remote monitoring entry.
Systems appear in RZ20 and I can use them in monitor sets.
In old solution manager I used central autoreaction methods. Only Solman sends alert messages. Mailconfiguration on each systems wasn't necessary.
If I now try to assign central reaction method through RZ21 - configure central system - assign central autoreaction method systems asks me for CCMS Agents. Elsewhere I read CCMS Agents are no longer needed with Solman 7.1.
So, how can I use central reaction methods in Solution Manager 7.1 without CCMS Agents?

Central Autoreaction Method doesn't work for NW 7.10 in SolMan 7.01

The central autoreaction method doesn't work for the satellite system
NW 7.10. For systems with kernel releases 4.6D, 640, 700 this method
works fine and e-mail alerts are coming.
The configuration steps I've checked:
1. Configured SCOT. The mail_send job executes every 5 minutes.
2. Background dispatching job is released: SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP (In
central CEN/000/DDIC and satellite system SAT/000/DDIC)
3. Central dispatching job is released: SAP_CCMS_CENSYS_DISPATCHER
(Only in central system CEN/000/DDIC)
4. The sapccm4x-agent registered as web service within CEN using
Create Remote Monitoring for NW 7.10:
Connection test to SAPCCM4X.<satellite_host>.00 was performed successfully
5. Created a new autoreaction method by copying method
CCMS_OnAlert_Email_V2 to the own Z_CCMS_Email_Alert_CEN:
Function Module - SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT_V2
Execute Method on Any Server and Only in Central System, triggered by
CCMS agents
SENDER (EMAIL_USER) exists in CEN/000 , RECEPIENT - <distr list
SAP_BASIS in CEN/000>, RECIPIENT-TYPEID - C
6. Got MTE Classes from NW 7.10 satellite system and assigned this method
Z_CCMS_Email_Alert_CEN to an MTE-class CCMS_ORAucPSAPSR3 for NW 7.10
satellite system. The alert is red right now.
7. The mail_send job doesn't send anything, in SCOT there are no
sending orders.
8. Autoreaction status on this alert in CEN in RZ20 - Sent to CEN.
CEN_CHECKED.
9. The alert status in RZ20 in CEN - ACTION_REQUIRED. If I execute it
in manual the alert status changes to ACTIVE, but no email and no
messages in sending orders in SCOT.
Please help me to solve this issue.

Hi,
Since you are using RECIPIENT-TYPEID =C i.e. General distribution list, pls ensure to have shared type of list created in SBWP.
Also pls verify your SCOT configutaion , if apropriate address area i.e. *@abc.com
Also one point to note that even if you trigger auto reaction method manually via RZ20 , pls check if alert is listed in SOST.
if yes , that means there is problem in either SCOT configuration or distribution list.
If alert is not appearing in SOST , that means you need to check auto reaction method parameters;
Z_CCMS_OnAlert_Email_V2 , here check release section if Auto reaction execution method is checked.

Assigning Central Autoreaction methods

Hi all,
I am having an issue in the Assignment of Central Autoreaction methods. I have installed CCMS agents on XI systems keeping Solution Manager as the central monitoring system.
In the satellite system --> RZ20 --> All systems monitoring segments . I am getting two nodes
1. HOSTNAME_SID_INSTANCE_no
2. HOSTNAME_SID_INSTANCE_no_X
In the first one all monitors are coming, but if I choose a monitor from the first one, the central autoreaction methods are not getting assigned
For the second one central autoreaction methods are getting assigned and it is working fine also.But not all monitors available.
Actaully in that Satellite system, there is only one instance HOSTNAME_SID_INSTANCE_no.
Please provide your ideas

Hai,
The HOSTNAME_SID_INSTANCE_no_X MTE is due to the SAPCCMSR agent for the JAVA part.
Since your satellite system is XI it will be having JAVA stack, and hence the second MTE.
You can create your own MTE's in CEN and try to assign Central auto reaction methods from there.

Central Autoreaction method won't assign to remote system

When I assign a remote autoreaction method to my CRM systems in rz21 it won't show in method alloctaion. I get no errors. It shows the assignment as being created but when I got to rz20 and display the node and do a - view - method allocation the autoreaction method is not assigned. When I look at properties for the method it takes me to the remote system but again doesn't show the autoreaction method assignment. I checked that the systems are online in rz21 display remote systems.
My ecc systems are working just fine.
Any ideas?

Hi Dan,
Try checking in RZ21 that any agents for the satellite system are online as they should be.
In RZ20 SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors - Selfmoniring CCMS Agents, the same agents should also show as 100% Available. There may also be errors in the agent log (sapccm4x.log).

Communication channel monitoring (adapter engine) in ccms (rz20) available?

Hi,
we have problems in our xi system (PI 7.0, SPS10). The adapter engine can only be monitored in the communication channel monitoring, available in the runtime workbench!
There sometimes errors disappear. At the moment these errors accumulate!
Is it possible to view these errors/ alerts in the ccms (rz20) monitoring?
So we don't look all the time in the communication channel monitoring!
Have anybody an idea?

Central autoreactions for remote systems (saprouter)

Hi,
The CEN Configuration is dependant on the CCMS agents that you install on your satellite system.
The CCMS agents run as Services at OS level.
When you install CCMS Agent, there will be parameters pertaining to connecting to CEN.
Hope this solves your problem.

are there metrics available in CCMS/RZ20, which display the available Dialog Workprocess?
I know there is a metric which shows the utilisation in % but I want the number.

as I see in a system with basis and kernel release 7.40 there are MTEs about number of ended WPs and total number of WPs under
RZ20 --> SAP CCMS Monitor Templates
              --> Entire System
                     --> <SID> --> R/3 Services
                          --> Dialog --> <instance>
There is no such MTE about number of free WPs.

System Monitoring: SAPDB Monitoring via RZ20

Hi!
I would like to set up the SAP DB monitoring via RZ20.
Unfortunately if I start the tcode DB59 and try to enter there Assistant it takes very long and I am geting the following error:
Name and Server          : SRM - servername
BMRFC Function          : DBM_CONNECT
Error                         : Communication Error
Error Message            : Error when opening an RFC connection
Error DBMRfcCommuncicationError at DB Instance CreateObject
Message no. SADA009
When I am executing the tcode DB50 then I get the warning: Determining version data, and then I get the same error:
DB50
Name and Server     : SRM - servername
DBMRFC Function     : DBM_CONNECT
Error               : Communication Error
Error Message       : Error when opening an RFC connection
Can some one help with the solution of the problem?

-> What is the version of your database < SAP DB >?
-> What is the database of your system?
-> What is the version/SP of the SAP basis on your system?
-> Did you create the connection to the SAP DB in /ndb59?
    How did you do it?
A) Run /ndb59 -> click on "Integrate Database" =>
    select MAXD & give Name of Database Connection, for example, TEST
follow further & set::
Database name
Database Server
&& DBM user/password; Standard database user/password
In the Automatic Monitoring folder => check the Activate Alert Monitor
B) Run the Connection Test in /ndb59 for the TEST connection
=> let me know the results.
-> Please check that the MAXDB client software installed on the application server.

Ok I have found the solution.
What you need to do is start the active data suppliers using autoabap:
transaction SE38 => SAPMSSY8 => Execute

CCMS Configuration - Central Monitoring and Email Alerts with Solution Mgr

I am trying to configure my CCMS alerts on my satellite systems to be linked into the Solution manager system (acting as the CEN monitoring node). If I have already setup my RZ20 alerts, is there a way I can just link these into Solution Manager.

Try setting up the monitoring RFC connections in SMSY. Once those are setup, you can pull the CCMS data in and view within tran SOLUTION+MANAGER.

I just want to know why I have allways following alerts in CCMS concerning BPE :
Deadline     Status of deadline monitoring
Process execution     Incomplete recovery after system crash
Process scheduling     Status of automatic error handling
Process scheduling     Status of event queue monitoring
Process scheduling     Status of container definition buffer
Overall status     Status of the automatic customizing
Process scheduling     Status of automatic clean up
Can this be solved or alerts avoided ?

Add a custom alert monitor set in Central Reports of NWA 2004s

I installed recently netweaver administrator 2004s to use central monitoring. I created a new CCMS monitor set with RZ20 and was hoping to see this set in the Monitoring -> Central Reports view set of the NWA (drop down box with all the Alert monitor sets defined in the CEN), but it wasn't there. Is there a way to add custom alert monitor sets created with RZ20 in the Central Reports "View Set" of the NWA ?

In system monitoring, CCMS absolete now ? or we still use it ?

Solution manager can be used for central system monitoring and this still uses the ccms data of monitored system to monitor centrally. CCMS can still be used to monitor your system locally.This way CCMS is not obsolete.

Error reading monitor at RZ20

Hello everybody
There is a monitor of an instance at RZ20 that when I double click on it to set new monitoring parameters do not open and return a message informing that: "Unable to determine any information for several MTE nodes" . Anybody knows something about this error message?

Hi,
There may be communication problems between the central monitoring system and the satellite system.
Check if the RFC destinations which are used for the communication with the satellite systems are correctly working.
Also check that the agents are online and 100% available.

Database statistics for Java system in CCMS (RZ20)

Hi All,
We have configured CCMS for JAVA system, but unable to view the Database statistics like Tablespace size, Free space, Backup, Performance etc., for it.
We are able to see these statistics for ABAP stack.
Is there any possible method (or) class to view these statistics?
We have even created a new rule-based monitor with class CCMS_DB_mcmtc and CCMS_DB_space_mscl but in vain.
Even if we cannot view these in RZ20, do we have any other methods like Netweaver administrator or Introscope or some other means....?

I don't think there is any separation between CCMS and other systems, all use one database. If you use MaxDB use Database Manager, if smth like SQL Server or Oracle use standard tools of this vendors, like Enterprise Manager third party tools also helps you, cause I don't see any difference between
