  • Solman 7.1 Mopz Error CX_SY_MOVE_CAST_ERROR

    Hi,
I am generating Xml Stack for ERP 6.0 EHP7 System from Solman 7.1. (SPS12) system. During Mopz Configuration--> Confirm Selection
    I am getting below Error
An exception with the type CX_SY_MOVE_CAST_ERROR occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
Kindly post your valuable suggestions if anyone has faced this Issue

    Hi Sachin, Divyanshu, Christoph,
Though an old requirement, just trying to find out how you have defined the ERP6 system in SMSY / LMDB.
I hope you have declared the system not as ECC, but as ERP 6.0.  Though an old requirement, it could've been overlooked.
A search in OSS on MOPZ and CX_SY_MOVE_CAST_ERROR results in SAP Note 1394820 - SMSY: Converting SAP ECC system to SAP ERP system which refers to above requirement; hence the query.  Apologies for the assumption!
    Hope this is of help.
    Best regards,

  • Solman 4 SR3 MOPZ issue

Did a fresh Solman 4 SR3 install. Completed the post install config. Cannot activate OSS connection yet due to firewall rules. Two issues:
    1) when doing the Part II config wizard step, an error occurs and the config step terminates. Nothing in the system log.
    2) MOPZ does not exist. Tried adding roles, etc. Still cannot run the transaction. Am I missing an add on or something?

    Hi TJ,
useful input for analysis, also if via customer message might be the environment of the regarding job. In order to get it do the following:
    Signon as <SID>ADM
    call qp2term
    ps -ef | grep <SID>
(gives you an overview of active processes, grep the PID <pid> of your process)
    ps eew <pid>

  • Complete Mess up in solman 7.0 after SP15.

    Hi Guys,
We applied SP15 for SOLMAN 7.0. We are facing severe problems from then onwards. We use SOLMAN for CUA & MOPZ. In our CUA we are facing an interesting problem, Whenever we do a copy of new user from another user, the user from which roles and autorizations are copied are not seen in his roles tab (but seen in the child systems), Also Mopz broke and not allowing to download the packages, i applied and followed many notes like 1140822 (by searching sdn forums). Please help me resolving these issues especially my CUA. The SCUL doesnt show any useful information except some grey and red marks..please help me fix these issues

    Hi
If inconsistencies, are due to application of the patches, best way is to contact SAP support for the resolution.

  • Patches download from market place.

    Hi,
I have heard that we can use our Solution Manager for downloading patches both for the Java stack and the ABAP stack.
Could you please help me regarding the same.
I basically want to know that how to configure my system for the same. Also what should be the latest patches for the solman itself.
    thanks

Basically at this point, as I understand it, the only MANDATORY use of the Maintenance Optimizer functions of SolMan are for NEW patches to NW2004s based systems.  All others are still available the old way (via service.sap.com/swdc)
Having said that, Solution Manager gives you a wonderful framework for managing your Support Package/Stack changes.  At this point however, it's really only a framework.  I can certainly see where SAP is going with it in the fugure from this framework, but for now it's a skeleton.  You will still have to download using Download Manager, and will still implement using JSPM/SPAM for Java/Abap changes respectively.  So from that standpoint there is no change to the old way.
Basically the process you will need to follow to setup SolMan Maintenance Optimizer (MOPZ) is to first setup SolMan's system landcape (SMSY), create a "solution" using SOLUTION_MANAGER transaction (or DSWP) and then navigate to "Change Management" ==> "Support Package Stacks".
Note that even with the latest support stack for SolMan you will need to have ST 400 SP 10 installed as well as Note 990534.  Then run SM_PREP_MAINTENANCE_OPTIMIZER in SA38.  Depending on your situation you may need Notes 997780, 1025381 and 1030498 as well.
That's the basics anyway.  There's lots of details missing of course, but MPOZ really isn't rocket science.  It's actually one of the easiest components of SolMan you can attempt (although there is a fair bit of stuff you need to do before getting there).
    Good Luck!!

  • MOPZ-generated SIDE EFFECT report never shows up in SOLMAN

HI - we are using SOLMAN ST 400, SPS#24
I am doing a MOPZ transaction for an ERP604/NW701 system landscape - specifically for updating from a lower SPS level to a more recent one...
In MOPZ....i requested the SIDE EFFECT report.....at that time got to a screen where it displayed the following message "Your request has not yet been processed. Please check back again in a few hours. "
I've waited more than 3 days - and still - when I go back into SOLMAN....into this same MOPZ transaction#....to look for the SIDE EFFECT report......it doesn't show up anywhere - instead....i just continue to see the same message (Your request has not yet been processed. Please check back again in a few hours. )
    Please advise
(it seems that the process for MOPZ-generated side effect reports is not as "user friendly" as the "old" way - outside SOLMAN/MOPZ - of doing this - in the "old" way, using SMP....you always got a request id#....and you always got an EMAIL in a few hrs ....that you clicked on to get the report.....i see neither of these when using MOPZ)

    Hi there,
sometimes the side-effect report may take longer to arrive due to a long processing time for the request. This may happen due to many concurrent requests at the same time, or because there are technical issues in the service backend systems here at SAP.
I hear that you already got the side-effect reports after a delay, so I guess that your request was finally processed.

  • Error in MOpz while downloading EHP1 for Solman

    Hi,
We are doing upgrade of Solman 7.0 to EHP1.
We are getting error "Update product data in Solution Manager" while we are trying to download EHP1 through MOpz.
This is even after implementing notes given in the note 1122966 (Maintenance Optimizer: Notes for Enhancement Packages).
However, we are able to see the patches etc and also able to download them.
Can we ignore this error? If no, then what is the solution of this?
    Thanks for your time.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kunal Patel.

    Hi Sunny,
    Thanks for the link.
I compared the files downloaded with the MOpz with the files we get if we download directly from service.sap.com after selecting the source and target stacks at link https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/sps/index.do?PVNR=01200314690900000235&smpsrv=https%3a%2f%2fwebsmp101.sap-ag.de
then I get some difference, i.e. below files additionally when downloaded directly!!
    SAPKIBIIP9     BI_CONT 703: patch 0009
    SAPKIPYJ7H     PI_BASIS 2005_1_700: patch 0017
    SAPKIPYJ7I     PI_BASIS 2005_1_700: patch 0018
    SAPKIPYJ7J     PI_BASIS 2005_1_700: patch 0019
    SAPKIPYJ7K     PI_BASIS 2005_1_700: patch 0020
    SAPKIPYM07     PI_BASIS 2006_1_700: patch 0007
    SAPKIPYM08     PI_BASIS 2006_1_700: patch 0008
    SAPKIPYM09     PI_BASIS 2006_1_700: patch 0009
    SAPKIPYM10     PI_BASIS 2006_1_700: patch 0010
    SAPKITLRDB     ST-PI 2008_1_700: Add-On Upgrade
Should I add this also to the already downloaded?
If yes, then how to change the xml file which is already generated in /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in by MOpz.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kunal Patel.

  • EHP 7 upgrade & Mopz in Solman 7.1 SP 8

    Hi Everyone,
I am currently working on EHP 7 upgrade for my ECC 6 EHP 6 system. I began my work in ECC with SLD data push and SMSY, LMDB config, in Solman now moved on with MOPZ config to download EHP SPS. I have a query here, is it important to have the entire system data updated with SMSY and LMDB in Solman? i understand that MOPZ checks the current system Patch level from SMSY/LMDB and based on our target selection it calculates and recommends. just wondering how exactly it happens!. Bacause we have our BO system and few other non SAP systems in the landscape that are not updated with the SMSY/LMDB but they also should be considerd for the upgrade to check if there are dependencies.
so my question is, do we have to push data from non sap also and maintaine in SMSY and LMDB before we perform EHP SPS download from MOPZ?
other question is, if we perform upgrade in a ECC Sandbox environment (usually a copy of Production), it is not necessary to have sandbox for Portal, PI and other systems. so what is the recommended approach here? do we have to select the Developement  ECC system from MOPZ so that we will have other Dev systems (PI, Portal.,..etc) present in the SMSY & LMDB and MOPZ recommendation will be perfect?
    please help me understand this
    Thanks,
    Shiv

Instead of reviewing SMSY, you should switch over to the LMDB as it is the future for system data in SolMan.
The reason its telling you ERP 6.0 SPS25 is because it is not taking into account your Ehp, SAP still has to support customers who haven't taken the Ehp (perhaps unicode issues, 32 bit to 64 bit, etc) so this is a way to compare.  I found a bar graph that explained this in a very simple picture, however I can't find it online and leads me to believe I read/saw it in a book.  Also think of this my company is currently updating ECC from Ehp 5 SPS 4 to Ehp7 SPS 4, the SPS are the same due to the Ehp change and resetting the SPS counter back to 0, but in mopz I believe it shows SPS 28 or 29 for ECC 6.0; so essentially there is nothing you can or need to fix for the system data.  If this is still confusing I will try to track down the bar graph example I saw.
As for logical components you can create your own (and is advised to do so as SAP could remove entries on you during a SolMan upgrade) so you could list it as z_ERP or zEhpERP or z_ECC; however it makes sens to you and your co-workers/customer, when you manage the system and the button that allows you to configure the system, the first section in the new window stays red until you assign a logical component to the system.  So you might already have something assigned to the system(s).
SAP doesn't list it as BO, and I'm not sure if you can run a successful mopz on BO systems; if you leverage the PAM at SAP you can track down dependencies.  I also believe Process Orchestration is only 7.3/7.31/7.4 which is compatible with Ehp 7.
    SAP PAM:  http://service.sap.com/pam
As for BO, do you have the following under the SWDC?
Installations and Upgrades - B" SBOP BI platform (former SBOP Enterprise)" SBOP BI PLATFORM (ENTERPRISE)" SBOP BI PLATFORM 4.1

  • SOLMAN 7.0 SPS 17: MOPZ and EWA user authorization

    Hi!
I installed SOLMAN 7.0 SPS 17 and have multiple solutions within tcode DSWP.
Now I would like to give a MOPZ and EWA authorization for user x to see content of special solution x within DSWP.
    It should look like:
User X --> tcode DSWP: Solution X (authorizations for MOPZ, EWA)
User Y --> tcode DSWP: Soution Y (authorizations for MOPZ, EWA)
What are the appropriate roles/profiles for this approach?

  • There is already a transaction for the systems of this product version(MOPZ)

    Hello All,
I am trying to configure maintenance optimizer in Solution Manager 7.0
on Windows 2003 server and SQL 2005 server.
I am configuring this for SAP CRM 2007 server.
Created the server, database and system in SMSY
Created Logical Component in TA code SMSY
SM59 connection for SAP-OSS is OK.
S-User is assigned to a User.
Created a solution using TA code solution_manager.
Defined the product version for the solution created in the TA code
    solution_manager.
When creating a Maintenance Optimizer transaction, I select the
product version and its logical component in the Plan Maintenance
(Phase) and click on Continue to go to Select Files Phase, I get below

Warning: There is already a transaction for the systems of this
    product version
I cannot get pass this phase.
I have deleted and recreated the solution, carried out the same
activity again but its giving the same Warning
Warning: Status was reset by system
Warning: There is already a transaction for the systems of this
    product version
    Any help will be appreciated???
    Regards,
    Satish.

    Hello Ragu,
    Thanks for your response.
As of now, we do not have ChaRM in place. Secondly, we use a single customer number.
I would like to let you know that in our landscape we have two CRM server, one ECC sever, one SOLMAN7.0 server.
I tried to configure MOPZ for CRM, ECC, SOLMAN server to download the respective STACKS.
I was successful in configuring CRM and SOLMAN.
But  when I tried to configure in ECC, it failed due to RFC erros.
So I deleted the transaction for the ECC system and deleted the system itself in Solution Manager.
Reconfigured the Systems in "SMSY", RFC connections are correctly defined to configure MOPZ between SOLMAN7.0 and ECC6.0.
When I start configuring the MOPZ, I cannot get pass the first phase and this is when I get an error: There is already a transaction for the systems of this product version.
Please let me know if you need further information.
    Regards,
    Satish.

  • Best Practice to Export Solman Customer Data to a new one

    Hi Solman experts,
We are facing a new project to move a huge Solution Manager VAR Scenario to a new one server, the biggest problems is system landscape from customer data (LMDB) and incident management customer data (ITSM), also mopz, ewa and sap service delivery that has request from customers to SAP and is Stored in solution Manager.
The information that we have to export to a new Solution Manager is:
    Customers: +300 aprox.
    Systems: +900 aprox.
    - Solution Manager Configuration "Managed system Setup" for around +900 productive systems.
    - Customer data in LMDB and SMSY ( product systems, tech.systems, logical components, solutions, etc... ).
    - VAR Scenario data from: ITSM (with communication with SAP).
    - VAR Scenario data from: Mopz, ewa, Sap engagement and service delivery, Solution Documentation.
We decided to do that to user a flesh installation of Solution Manager SP11 with better system resources, better than migrate our existing one.
What do you think that is the best way to migrate customer data from a SAP Solution Manager SP08  to a new server with SAP Solution Manager SP11 ?
    Thanks,
