Solman 7.1 SR4 SLD config

Dear Experts,
My landscape is ECC6 with out Diagonostic agents installed in any sateites other than Solman 7.1 SR4.
In all satelites SAPHOSTAGENT is installled and working properly. Kernal Level is 700 in satelites and 720 in Solman.
I ran solman_workcenter in solman where everything went fine except SLD config where conect all Diagnostics agent to SAP Solution Manager step only solman s showing other satelites are not showing i ran rz 70 in all satelites no errors reported in it. I can view satelite system details in mange system tab but not in the former one.
My doubt is is there any way i can add satelites to solman sld without DAA installation in satelites ..?..... I am sure its possible....

I believe your requirement is to register all sattelite systems to Solution Manager SLD without using DAA on the sattelite systems.
For registration of sattelite systems in a central SLD, you need to follow the below steps -
For ABAP stack of sattelite system -
Maintain SLD host settings in transaction SLDAPICUST & test connection
Maintain SLD host & gateway settings in transaction RZ70
Execute settings in RZ70, this collects & sends data to SLD and also schedules a job to perform this task regularly
For Java stack of sattelite system -
Maintain SLD settings via RFC destinations - SLD_DataSupplier & SLD_Client
Perform a manual collect & send data to test
Login to SLD system and check the last updated date under Technical systems.
This will help you to register all sattelite systems to Solution Manager SLD without use of DAA.

Thanks for your help on my successful installation of PI. After running template installer, Do i need to configure anything more.
For SLD, Do i need to do any extra. I installed PI7 (2004s SR1) on Windows with maxDB. and ofcourse local SLD.

lin k the ABAP and Java Stacks to the SLD which will regsiter the components of XI. Register the ABAP Stack inidiviually as WEB AS.
Check oss note 764176 incase of problems, as sometimes you have to make some manual associations.

Error while installing SOLMAN 4.0 SR4

Hi All,
      I'm trying to install solution manager 4.0 sr4 on DB2 with win 2003 ent edition.Installation is on a xeon based 64 bit processor.The installation stops at phase 51 while creating java users.I checked with SAP not 1126481 and tried to upload the note in 001 with ddic user id.But the note is not uploading.I have also checked in sap with the user creation j2ee_admin and sapjsf.that is also created.The error log states as follows:

the connection from sapinst to the gateway on ISLLSOLM could not get established (Connection refused).
ERROR partner 'ISLLSOLM:sapgw00' not reached
Please check network configuration
1. hostname resolution
2. services entries
3. that the gateway and instance was started successfully without errors on ISLLSOLM .
4. that no other application uses service sapgw00 on host ISLLSOLM

SAPinst problem in new SolMan 7.0 SR4

I've downloaded Install Master for new Solution Manager 7 SR4 (51033517 - Windows/MSSQL) and I have problem with sapinst. Install guide tells that I should have options:
SAP Systems
-Central System
-Distributed System
-High-Availability System
and
Software Life-cycle Options
but after I start SAPinst I have only:
Standalone engines
Software Life-cycle Options
so I cannot start installation
Is this normal or something is wrong?
What I should do to get all install options?

Solman 7.1 Managed system config for Dual stack

While running the step "WEB Services logical port creation" we are receiving a warning.
Message: Activity disabled : creation of communication user SM_COLL_XXX has not been flagged as being successful.

Please make sure the 'User and Roles' activity is executed successfully before executing this activity
When i check in "Create users" step. SM_COLL_XXX is Green led. I did not created this user from solman. I provided existing user. So whats the issue here..?

Transporting ESR / ID components over the same SLD config

Hi experts,
I'm facing a situation where a client has 3 distinct SLD and, in each one there's the same Business System.
i.e:
SLD DEV -> BS_A1
SLD QAS -> BS_A1
SLD PRD -> BS_A1
My question is, if we transport the design and configuration objects from one scenario to another (DEV to QAS, for instance), will they identify the different BS and run fine, or will they fail?

Hi Rafael
The only way to know for sure is to do a test - between non-PRD critical systems DEV and QAS - or in a completely different non-PRD critical landscape with the same landscape - always back-up SLD contents before attempting this- ideally a full back-up and a export ALL as well as and individual exports files of each type LD, CR etc will ensure the SLD can be re-built irrespective of the any issues faced.
There are 2 potential issues as I see it
1) If the data source of each BS is different in each SLD or some of the business systems data is different in each SLD
there is always the possibility it may not matched or found by CTS
2) The business system and scenario may have some source specific definitions - these should be adapted in the target
environment to ensure it works

Session Expired after logging on to Visual Administrator - SLD Config

Hey Guys,
I have a NW2004s installation, both ABAP and Java stack, with UME pointing to the ABAP stack.
I created a user in ABAP stack, and assigned the J2EE_ADMIN role to this user.
I try to log into the Visual Administrator with this user. The login is successful.
However right after I navigate to the sld data supplier node and click it, I get the error message, Session Expired.
I think it is because I am not authorized to configure SLD or something like that.
When I created the user in the ABAP stack I entered all the roles for the user with which I am logging on to the Visual Admin:
SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR
SAP_SLD_CONFIGURATOR
Anyhelp so that I can get over this problem and configure the SLD in the system.

J2EE_ADMIN role has all the rights(configure SLD etc) , make sure you configure the SLD and import the CIM model content you can login to SLD at http://<host>:5XX00/SLD and then access the data supplier bridge
where XX is your instance number

Solman upgr 710 - Error in Config step (Phase PREP_INTEGRATION/DYNSPCADD)

Dear SAP gurus,
I am performing an upgrade Solman701 to 710 using SOLMANUP. tool. Linux/Oracle
The upgrade got stuck on Configuration step (phase PREP_INTEGRATION/DYNSPCADD) wit the following Warning:
Manual Actions:
WARNING:Your source system is secured by the SAPCryptolib.
To keep the security setting, put a SAPCryptolib archive suitable for your server platform into the download directory.
Download the SAPCryptolib from the SAP Service Marketplace as described in the SAP Note 455033 or comment out the corresponding SSF parameters at the system profile temporary during the upgrade.
I downloaded the SAPCryptolib (900000115.SAR) and put it on the download directory but when I ran the phase step/phase again it came up again the same error. I even "sapcar" it and put it on /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in but it still complains with the same error.
I also checked the note 1302772 but didtnt work either.
Anybody can give me some suggestions on how to go further?

Did you try to put 'Extracted' version of .SAR file in the download directory ?
And did you just 'repeat' the phase from the same sessions of SolmanUp Or tried to stop SolmanUP and then started from the same phase ?
'I also checked the note 1302772 but didtnt work either.'
Note 1302772 is applicable only for SAP EhPi I think, not for SolmanUP.

How to transfer SLD data from PI 7.1 to Solman 7.0

. I Have a Landscape with Solman 7.0 (Central SLD) and PI 7.0 (DEV, QLT,PRD)-- Local SLD's, now customer wants to update from PI 7.0 to PI 7.1.
PI Local SLD's are pointing to Central SLD of Solman through SLD data Bridge.
But if i upgrade PI from 7.0 to 7.1 (with SLD 7.1), where should be my Central SLD ??? as SAP recommands we are not supposed to set a Central sld which is of lower version as in my case Solman with SLD still on 7.0 (To forward data from Local SLd to Central SLD -- pre requists either SLD version should be same or Hiegher) but they are on SOLMAN 7.0

Ok i will be more precise on my question.
we have a landscape consisting ECC,SRM,CRM,PI and SOLMAN, (DEV,QTY,PRD) they are all on 7.0 version.
To my knowledge DEV,QTY,PRD systems Data Suppliers are pointing to Local SLDs respective PI (DEV,QTY,PRD) ie all DEV systems -> PI Local SLD and all QTY systems -> PI QTY and All PRD systems are Pointing to PI (PRD)
SLD Data is transferred from Local SLDs to central SLD in this way using Bridge Forwarding
PI DEV -> PI QTY, then from PI QTY to PI PRD and Finally From PI PRD to Cental SLD on SOL
PI DEV -> PI QTY->PI PRD -> SOL (CENTRAL) all are on 7.0.
Now Customer wants to upgrade PI 7.0 to PI 7.1. then if upgrade is done to PI (DEV,QTY,PRD)
The Bridge forwarding will remain the same like this
PI DEV(7.1) -> PI QTY(7.1)->PI PRD(7.1) till here its fine now how to forward to the Central SLD of SOLMAN as its is still on 7.0 version
I Have read from the SMP that Bridge Forwarding from 7.1(in my case PI) i to 7.0 (in my case SOL)is Not allowed
But Bridge forwarding from 7.0 to 7.1 is allowed,
PI DEV(7.1) -> PI QTY(7.1)->PI PRD(7.1) <- SOL , Now central SLD will be PI PRD.
if i do so SOL will not be Central SLD any more and then how SOL can generate EWA and other Solutions without SLD Data from Sat systems
Please provide me a solution for this.

Use Solman's SLD

I'm trying to configure PI to use SLD which is on SOLMAN.
I stopped SLD on PI.
at SXMB_IFR there is link to SLD, so I went to administration and changed SLD hostname from PI to SOLMAN at
com.sap.aii.connect.cr.name
and
com.sap.aii.connect.landscape.name.
After that, SOLMAN's SLD is linked from SXMB_IFR.
Now I have problem in integration builder.
I'm unable to load/import business systems in integration builder from SLD. I get error:
Access to object list of type "BusinessSystem" using the InternalEOAService BusinessSystemAccessor failed.
Could you help me where should I change SLD link of integration builder? (it works after I start PI's SLD.. so it looks old SLD is still linked somewhere).
I have also additional question...: is it possible to do this or better would be automaticaly replicate SOLMAN SLD data into PI SLD?

SLDCHECK is ok, it is pointing to SOLMAN SLD and also business systems are correclty received during check.
I ran SXI_CACHE and refreshed it, but it didn't help.

SLDAPICUST is correctly maintained and RFC destination is using registered server program, so there is not any reference to hostname...but I assume it loads SLDAPICUST data, which are correct.
I think there must be some setting in administration of http://<host>:50000/dir/start/index.jsp (administration -> properties administration -> exchange profile). This is place where I set SLD link in PI cockpit, I also tried to change other connections (hostnames) but withous success... I dont want to break something else by accident...

Yes technically it is possible to configure Solman without an SLD.
It is entirely up to you - you can have separate SLD
islands used for different products - you can
even have 2 central SLDs using the same SLD bridge
You can also have as many SLD as you wish - bearing in
mind this will increase administration.
SLD usage for Solution Manager is not as critical as
useage for XI because SMSY in solution manager can
obtain system data via STMS and you can also add
data manually, it normally only benefits Solution Manager
to connect to an existing SLD which already has been
populated otherwise you would have to setup SLD only
to populate SMSY which can be populated directly without SLD.
If SLD does not already exist with systems for other clients
the time advantage of using it with Solution Manager is
removed.
You can connect Solution Manager as a client or data
supplier to any SLD at any time after installation - not a problem
just change SLDAPICUST destinations and RZ70 settings. Also please check once the settings in SMSY_Setup and remove the write back option in the Expert Configuration for SLD.

We are planning for a central SLD on a WAS Java system and also local SLD on solman with all the landscape details synced with central SLD, in this regard i have few questions:
We have a WAS Java system where central SLD will be setup.There are 4 systems that needs to be registered in central SLD, ECC(pure Abap), PI(Dual Stack), Portal(Pure java). Solman(dual stack).please correct me if teh below process is correct for regitsering the ystems
1.ECC - In RZ70->under SLD Bridge gateway Information-> Central SLD host name
2.PI - ABAP stack - In RZ70->SLD Bridge gateway Information-> Central SLD host name, Java stack -Visual Admin->server noe->services->SLd data Supplier->http settings->Central SLD host name, port no, user and passwd
3.Portal - Visual Admin->server noe->services->SLd data Supplier->http settings->Central SLD host name, port no, user and passwd
4.PI - ABAP stack in RZ70->under SLD Bridge gateway Information-> Central SLD host name, Java stack -Visual Admin->server noe->services->SLd data Supplier->http settings
5.my requirement is to have a local SLD in solman with all the data forwarded from central SLD to solman Local SLD , what needs to be for this
6.what is the use/purpose of SLDAPICUST , do i need to maintain any entries here too?

The first 4 points mentioned by you in the first thread is absolutely right. You need to do all of it.
For the bridge connectivity, sorry.. In SLD goto Administration-> Data Supplier. Here you configure the bridge between the Central SLD and Solman.
SLDAPICUST is 1 of the main configurations for Tcode SLDCHECK to work fine. Once all the SLD configs are complete on the ABAP side, run Tcode SLDCHECK. This should open the SLD home page and the GUI in ABAP shows green. In case SLDAPICUST is not configured, it shows error in business systems.

SAP_HTTPServicePort URLs in SLD for PI are updated by SLD host name itself

We have upgraded our PI 7.0 to 7,1. We have a central SLD. After the upgrade, SAP_HTTPServicePort URLs (in SLD Content maintenance) for the PI are all getting initialized with SLD host name itself.
Example: for port.CIDX.af.pip.<PIPhostname>
URL: http://solman:50100/MessagingSystem/receive/CIDXAdapter/CIDX
solman is my central SLD.
This is happening in our production system only. In Dev/QAS systems, the behavior is normal like
http://PIDHostname:50000/MessagingSystem/receive/CIDXAdapter/CIDX
I have tried to update the URLs manually, but, when the instance is bounced, the SLD is getting refreshed with the erroneous URLs.
I want to know where from the SLD content is refreshed?

There are two ways....
Option 1 : Go to the BS of ur R3 system in Integration Direction. Go to edit mode mode and select Properties -> Adapter Specific attributes - > enter the LS name and save...
Option2 : You can use it from the mapping.... U either hard code/use from source the EDIDC40 section of ur mapping and the in ur IDOC receiver config select the option user
Option ! is the best soln...All the IDOC to that R3 system will go the specified LS...

As i am in the configuration phase of Solman 7.1,i have completed the steps of SYSTEM PREPARATION and BASIC
CONFIGURATION except configuration of Willy Introscope Agent.
As i have to configure the Maintenance Optimizer.
Can anyone tell me what prerequistes should be maintenaned to configure MOPZ?
Should i go with the Managed System Configuration first or i can directly start with the MOPZ Configuration?

I am new to Solution Manager, I have installed Solman7.1 with initial stack, without applying SP3 or SP4 I have started solman_setup at standard configuration
1) I have selected local SLD, and gave SLD data like host name : solman host etc because we dont have separate standalone central sld, we have systems like SAP ECC6.0 EHP5, PI7.3 and Portal 7.3, we are using PI7.3 system SLD is the Master SLD for ECC & Portal. So at the time of solman standard configuration SLD step we have selected local SLD and gave solman hostname for SLD host name. SLD task run successfully.
2) At LMDB step I am unable to complete it properly, I dont know which user name I need to give to sync SLD and LMDB, so I skipped that step and perfomed BASIC Cofiguration with Willy Agent steps keeping as postpond
3) I need to upgrade to ECC HCM component to Ehp5 605 as my ECC is Central Application SAP_APPL 605 sp05 now, I am facing problem at the time of generating target stack file thro solman MOPZ (it is giving COVNT_DATA_LOSS ABAP Dump error) so we decided to apply latest patch SP04 for solman
Please guide how to config LMDB and MOPZ, where can I get step by step configuration for this? I really appreciate if anyone help me out.

Central SLD Information

We have ERP, PI , BI and EP Systems out of which all are three system landscape. Can you please suggest the sld configuration for these systems. We also have a Solution Manager . Now my question is how to configure SLD in this Land scape . while installing all system i have choose configure local SLD.
While doing integration between PI and ECC , PI asked for SLD and includes ECC.
while doing EP with ECC EP there need to be created as SLD .
finally Salmon SLD configured .

the typical config would be to use one central SLD based on your solman and connect all other systems to use this one
second good option would be to have one central SLD on solman and for all systems but have one local SLD just for PI systems (dev PI linked to DEV SLD, TEST PI to TEST SLD) and only PRD PI linked to solman's PRD SLD
this all depends on how complex your intergration landscape will be and is it allowed to connect dev system to prd (dev PI to PRD SLD) as some companies do not allow that
BTW
you can change the SLD config at any point in time - this is not any constant connection
