SolMan 7 SR3 installation : SMD could not start
Hello all,
It's the third time I'm installing a SolMan 7 SR3 (aka SolMan 4 SR4 previously) on a windows 2k3 SP2 server and for the third time, I'm getting the following error on the SMDAgent :

This SMD is installed and configured by SAPinst. I get this error each time I try to start it.
My workaround was to reinstall a new SMD as standalone, which is working fine.
I just want to know why, using a standard SAPinst, I can't have a working SMD from scratch ?
System configuration :
OS : Windows Server 2003 SP2
Proc : Intel Xeon E5130
JVM : 1.4.2_16-b05
SAP source DVD : 51033517_13
Thanks for your help.
Yes, win 2003, x64.
I know version 18 of java stack causes failures and restarts. We changed to version 17 last week. The process which doesn´t start is SMDAgent.

I can't Start, Uninstall of Install new iTunes. I'm getting the same error message: "Window Installer Service could not be accessed". No other programs having similar problem. Any suggestions how to fix it?
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) (not for XP) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Oracle APP'S Installations Context Value Management Could not started
oracle APP'S Installations Context Value Management Could not started
how it is startedFadi, Context Value Management runs during Rapid Install or AutoConfig to make sure the context file is in good order. If it fails at the time of the installation, then most probably you have missing components at the OS level.

Could not start instance service of Instance - Solman 7.1 & Sybase
Dear All,
Greetings!!
We are in the process of installing Solman 7.1 with Sybase ASE 15.7 on SUSE Linux 11 SP03. During phase 50 we are getting an error like "Could not start instance service of Instance". I have attached the Error and the Inst_Dev.log screenshot for your reference.
Please help us with some suggestion or solution at the earliest.
Thanks,
ElaHi Chatur,
Thanks for your reply. The issue had been resolved.
Yes, /usr/sap/ASM/ASCS/exe was empty actually & we copied the Kernel files to this directory & retired again & its working fine now.
Thanks again.

Oracle10g Installation Error isqlplus service could not start
I have successful installed Oracle10g on Windows 2000 Professional on a machine with no previous installation of Oracle.
I uninstall Oracle9i on another machine with Windows 2000 Professional using the Universal Installer, run regedit to remove Oracle under Software; stop all Oracle Services; delete the oracle physical folder.
I restart the PC and install Oracle 10g, but the following error appear:
Could not start the OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I neglect this error and continue the installation. All services work, e.g. sqlplus, and Enterprise Manager
http://localhost:5500/em works except
isqlplis on http://localhost:5560/isqlplus
I check the Control Panel's Administrative Tools, Services and found that OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus is starting, but you cannot stop or start it. What happens?
Is there a way to seolve this problem?I resolve this problem caused by JAVA_HOME path of the Windows 2000's System Variable by changing it to map to c:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1\jdk and then OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus service can start successfully on Local Computer

whem installing itunes on my mums new computer which is windows 7 i get this message everytime "this installation package could not be opened. Verifiy that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package"
Let's check your Windows system.
1. Have you done all the important windows updates and service Packs on your system. If not do it now. START button, type in Windows Update and ENTER. Select 'CHECK FOR UPDATES'
2. Let's check your Windows system files for possible file corruption
SCAN and repair possible Windows system file corruption:
Go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
type in
sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
Restart the computer if it did actually repair any files.
3. Check your system for possible Malware. But you have to do it in WIndows Safe Mode.
Start your computer in "Safe mode with networking", go to this link download a free version of Malwarebyte.
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
Install and perform update immediately, then do a full SCAN. Remove malware if it indeed finds any. Restart computer to regular windows to let Malwarebyte complete the removal.
To start your computer in safe mode
Press and hold the F8 key as your computer starts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the "safe mode with networking" option, and then press Enter. Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your screen. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally. -
The installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exist
HELP!
I have not been able to update my Itunes to a newer version (since 6.0.5). Every time I try to upgrade to the newer version I get this error message when I try to install:
"The installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package"
This is been incredibly frustrating because now I am limited in what songs and albums I can buy online because they require the newer version. I am getting to the point where i'm ready to start using another service to get my music from now on. I've noticed that others here have the same error message, but they are using Windows Vista. I'm having this problem on Windows XP.
Any help would be very appreciated.Oh sorry what i meant was that i am trying to install adobe reader, i have tried all version from 8 to 9 and i am getting this error. The solution that i found on different forum was to use windows installer cleanup utility and clean up the previous installation. i dont have any installation in my registry.
Kindly help me in this matter -
Does anyone know, how to fix ' This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the applikcation vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." ?
At what point in the process are you getting this message? Have you tried downloading a fresh copy of the iTunes setup file from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ?
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Please let me know how to fix this. This problem connected with proxy-setings.
As the first steps you should try:
1. export system env variable:
http_proxy=http://www-proxy.ru.oracle.com:80
https_proxy=https://www-proxy.ru.oracle.com:80
no_proxy=127.0.0.1,localhost
and you can also export
export OS_TENANT_NAME=admin
export OS_USERNAME=admin
export OS_PASSWORD=root
export OS_AUTH_URL=http://<conntroller_IP>:5000/v2.0/
2. and than restart mysqld, if it is running, stop iptables and repeat installation process from beginning with the currently generated answer file
if we are exporting variable OS_PASSWORD, its value should be the same as value for CONFIG_KEYSTONE_ADMIN_PW in the currently generated answer file.
This OS_PASSWORD will be written by packstack in the /root/keystonerc_admin file and will be used as admin's password for login to Openstack dashboard. -
Installation package could not be opened
can't download itunes as of 3/30/07.
my ipod6 was stolen. bought another from apple. now can't download. "this installation package could not be opened"
following "solutions" have not worked
-1)start/control panel/quicktime/audio/devices/de-select safe mode
-2)start/control panel/sounds and audio devices/volume/speaker setup/stereo headphones
-3)COMPLETELY REMOVE ITUNES AND QUICKTIMES
RESULT: Fine until Step 15. Cannot remove the C/Program Files/QuickTime folder.
It reads "CANNOT DELETE QTTQSK.EXE. ACCESS IS DENIED.
Attempted to remove it several times in several different ways all unsuccessful.
PROBLEM STEP 16 - There was no QuicktimeVR in C|windows\system32 folder
-4)EMPTY TEMP DIRECTORY AND RESTART
RESULT: Same error message as before THE INSTALLATION PACKAGE COULD NOT BE OPENED
-5)CLEAN UP ITUNES INSTALLER FILES ON THE COMPUTER
PROBLEM step 5: SELECT ITUNES FROM LIST. itunes is not on the list.
Elasped time about 4 hours.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm not real smart about computers. I only have a masters degree. Seriously I can handle mechanical or even electro-mechanical. But I'm no good at this.
Thanks in advance for your help
dell wind up Windows XPI ran into a similar problem, so will share what worked for me.
I didn't bother with safe mode. Just went to control panel, selected add/remove programs, and deleted itunes and Quicktime.
After deletion, I noticed the Quicktime player icon was still on my desktop, so I explored over to the program files folder and found the Quicktime folder still there with a ton of files in it. Upon attempting to manually delete this folder, I got the same message as you.
I rebooted the computer. Then I found the icon for quicktime in my taskbar at the bottom right of my screen, right clicked on it, and clicked on "Exit". That got rid of Quicktime from my task bar. Then used explorer again to get to the Quicktime folder in my program files directory, right clicked on Quicktime, clicked Delete, and it worked. Then I rebooted.
Upon logging back in, I installed Quicktime only. 2nd choice on this page. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
Then I rebooted.
Upon logging back in, I installed itunes only. See this page...
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Rebooted.
Upon logging back in, both programs worked.

WLS 9.2: MigrationException: Could not start JTAMT on local server
I have configured a two machine WLS 9.2 Cluster with two Managed Servers.
When I try to start the Managed Server through the Node Manager from Admin

actually both Managed Servers fail with the same error):

The WLS installation was done including the Node Manager Service.
Is this error message familiar at all and what could be done to fix it?
These Managed Servers run on Win2000 and Win2003 respectively. Should I do
something to the OS (Enable XA Txs in Control Panel/MSDTC)?Did you start AdminServer before try to start MANAGED-SERVER1?
Did you ever migrate Transaction Recovery Service of MANAGED-SERVER1 to other servers?
If the problem still exist, you can enable the debug option "DebugJTAMigration" and post the stack trace.
