SOLMAN monitoring of SAP XI/PI interfaces

Hello! ALL
We have been leveraging SAP XI/PI monitoring capabilities using the Alter Framework: ALRTCATDEF and setting up alert rules in RWB.
However, we would like to start leveraging SOLMAN monitoring features for monitoring SAP XI/PI interfaces.
Please, let us know if anyone has been using SOLMAN for monitoring SAP XI/PI AE & IE interface errors AND how it can be done; so that we can work with Basis in getting this set up in SOLMAN.
Any info - or - documentation and links related to SOLMAN monitoring of SAP XI/PI interfaces would help.
Your help is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you,
Ritu

Hi,
Please check below thread. You can use BPM functionality of Sol Man for Monitoring.

    Dear Friends,
How to monitor all SAP Server through solution Manager?
Is it possible if yes then how? Please forward configuration and transaction also.
Please help me as early as possible..
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Hi sachin,
You can monitor your sattilite systems through solution manager.
If you want to monitor systems in solution manager means you need to configure those systems in solution manager.
Before including the systems in solution manager we need to create a solution using tcode <b>DSWP</b>.
After that you can include the systems using tcode <b>SMSY</b>.
For configuring the systems we have lot of phases its very difficult to explain here.
Try to login to<b> service.sap.com</b> and <b>help.sap.com</b> find the helpfull guides.
i hope it will help you.
    any issues post it.

  • SAP IDOC's, interfaces and BAPI's

Hi i am new to SD, can anyone give me documentation or reading material for SAP IDOC's, interfaces and BAPI's .
    Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanking you

    Hi Reddy,
Very general question, I don't think you will find the answer in one document.
BAPIs are normal function modules, with predefined input and output structures to perform standard business transactions.
IDOCs are standardised interface documents to transfer data.
Once the IDOC is read, it almost always calls a BAPI to perform the business transaction.
Therefore start with reading about BAPIs since you will definately have to master those when starting to work on interfaces.
There are hundreds of BAPIs so best is to start with a specific process, example sales order create or material master create.
Try transaction BAPI, this lists most of the BAPIs and contains excellent documentation.
    Thanks for your points,
    Filip

    Hi
What is the Org charting tool that you want to implement.
For SAP we have NAKISA an org charting tool which is an authorized tool for SAP.
make an FS and the ABAP person will do the interface.

  • Configuration of SAP MDG User Interface in Customer Namespace - 7.0

    Hello All.
I have been constantly reading about the mentioned content,
SAP MDG user interfaces from one single place. A dedicated WebDynpro application is provided to manage all user interface configurations.
You can also copy a standard SAP user interface configuration to the customer namespace and configure it to your requirements.
Can anyone give more details about the SAP MDG User Interface or share any links which denotes the same in detail.
    Any Help Appreciated !!.
    Regards,
    Shankar

The document mentioned in the link does not state anything related to use user interface in customer namespace as suggested by sap in Innovations page. this is more about FPM applications.
Can you please suggest how do we use MDG User Interface in the customer environment directly as suggested by SAP.

  • SMD-Monitoring on SAP Solution Manager Server host

    Hi!
Do I need also to install a SMD agent 7.00 on SAP Solution Manager server,
if I would like to set up SMD monitoring for SAP Solution Manager server itself?
    Thank you!
    regards
    Thom

NO, you dont need to deploy SMD agent. SMD Server Package on Solution Manager, SMD Agent on monitored system.
Do you really want to monitor the Solution Manager system(JAVA)? If so yes, install SMD on Solution Manager, if you dont, then just deploy LMSERVICE on Solution Manager(use Solution Manager as the SMD server).
Hope that makes sense or answers what you want. I dont know if you want to monitor Solution Manager, more like want SM to do the monitoring of your satellite systems.

  • SAP  Automation GUI  Interface Files

    Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get these files?
    Thanks, Chris

    Hello people,
Could you somebody help me in this question ?
The SAP Automation is supported in the ERP 6.0 ?
One user in our company is asking to implement an application that use SAP Automation (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/de/8c/20e2ab493311d1894a0000e829fbbd/frameset.htm) in order to call RFC in our R/3 4.6c. In the end of this year we are going to migrate to ERP 6.0 and I'm not sure that this kind of technology is supported in this version.
The application is an 3rd party software from T-Systems developed in Powerbuilder and comunicate with R/3 using RFC.

  • No messages available in RWB monitoring in SAP Pi

    Hi Expert,
We are facing a peculiar problem only for JDBC receiver scenarios. The flow of the messages are as below:
ECC -> PI -> Oracle database
Messages processes successfully from ECC to Oracle and these messages are visible in SXMB_MONI but not in RWB->Message Monitoring.
Ideally when messages process from IE->AE, then in both IE and AE messages should be visible and it is happening for all other types of interfaces.
Only for JDBC receiver, this is happening. I don't know if any message logging was disable or now.
Please help me to identify the issue.
    Thanks in Advance.

Hi Vicky - Can you check the below note?
1031773 - Activating the message overview in RWB message monitoring
Activating data collection for the Adapter Engine (Java):
If the property 'messaging.system.statusLog' of the "SAP XI AF Messaging" service (as of 7.10, the name of the server was changed to "XPI Service: Messaging System") does not contain the values 'Send,Recv,Event', add these as follows (do not delete other values that are set):
    messaging.system.statusLog=Send,Recv,Event,<other values>
You can then use the property "profile.runtime" of the SAP XI AF Core service to activate data collection for the message overview. To do this, set the value to 'true'.
You must set these properties accordingly in each server node and restart the service.
To deactivate this, set the property "profile.runtime" to the value "false" on each server node. In addition, you must remove the value "Event" from the value list of the property "messaging.system.statusLog". Restart both services "SAP XI AF Messaging" (or "XPI Service: Messaging System" as of Release 7.10) and "SAP XI AF Core" to ensure that the changes take effect. During the deactivation process, all message overview data that was written up to now is deleted, and the message overview is reset to its initial status.
As of release SAP NetWeaver 7.10, the runtime of the Adapter Engine is automatically activated. However, you can deactivate this again, as described above
Please validate the configuration of the above service.
Also can you share the value of the property "messaging.jdbc" under the service "XPI Service: Messaging System" ?

  • Does two seperate client required if the solman monitors DEV and QAS system

    Hi All,
    This is our client landscape:
1 Dev-SolMan->For all development and quality systems(ECC 6.0, BI and EP).
    1 PRD-SolMan->For all production systems(ECC 6.0, BI and EP).
Note: We have build only DEV-SolMan system as of now and we haven't done any configuration yet like either service desk or ChaRm.
    The question is:
Do we need to have two seperate clients in DEV-Solman, one for all development systems and one for all quality systems? or Can we have a single client in DEV-Solman to handle all development and quality systems? What is the  SAP recommented approach?
    Thanks
    Sanjai

    Hi,
you even don't need separate Solution Manager systems to monitor DEV / QA and Prod. You could use one SolMan client to monitor and administrate all systems / clients.
Maybe it would be a good idea to create different Solution Landscapes, but this depends on your need.
Separate clients are no good option, because CHARM can only activated in on client. Also if you plan to activate charm, you need a solution that contains all systems in your transport landscape (DEV, QAnad Prod).
    Kind Regards,
    Holger

  • Documentation in SolMan of Non SAP Implementation.

    Hi experts,
Is it possible to maintain documentation, blueprints, etc. for an implementation of a NON SAP system (CC&B of Oracle)?
If possible, what would be the correct scenario of SolMan?
    Best Regards,

    Hi Gustavo,
In my view, the right transactions to hold documents for Non-SAP systems are SOLAR01 & SOLAR02 or the Solution Landscape.
The questions you would have to answer yourself are:
    (1) Are these Non-SAP systems part of the 'overll' solution landscape in terms of interacting with SAP in one way or ther other  OR are these meant to carry out certain Business Processes that are totally standalone and have no 'interface' or cross-dependency on SAP
          - If these Non-SAP systems actively interact with SAP, you may be better off getting the structure definition as well as documentation in the same Project
         - If some elements interact and most others are standalone, you may like to have a different Project to manage those standalone elements
    (2) Do you plan to undertake any 'Project' that may end up using these Non-SAP system documentation OR is it primarily for the support team that manages an existing infrastructure, to have access to these documents from one place ?
    - If no projects are foreseen taking shape, you may be better off defining the structure as Business Scenarios or Interface Scenarios in Solution Landscape as opposed to Project side
Please feel free to ask any further queries.
    Best regards,
    Srini

  • How to use ADS on SolMan instance and SAP standard PDF forms from ERP

    Hi there
We have installed and configurated the ADS service on our Solution Manager (SolMan) Instance called SD1.
SolMan Info: SAP Solution Manager 7.0; Stack 17; Java-Stack installed; SAP Netweaver 7.0
All ADS test reports can be executed successfully:
    FP_TEST_00
    FP_PDF_TEST_00
We have linked our ERP landscape (e.g. system ED1) to ADS service running on SolMan.
ERP Info: ECC 6.0; Stack 13; no Java-Stack installed
All ADS test reports can be executed successfully:
    FP_TEST_00
    FP_PDF_TEST_00
We want to print PDF documents from SAP standard applications on our ERP landscape. Therefore we want to use standard PDF forms provided by SAP and also available in transaction SFP (e.g. form ISSR_NW670_RX_PDF).
Problem: When we try to create a PDF document from the application we get an error message:
Processing exception during a "Render" operation.#Request start time: Mon Feb 02 13:42:08 CET 2009#com.adobe.ProcessingException: Problem accessing data from Destination: dest:FP_ICF_DATA_ED1//sap/bc/fp/form/layout/ISSR_NW605_PDF.XDP?fp-language=DE&fp-cac
I have also checked the trace (see below) and it seems that the system tries to get the form from the SolMan system and not from the ERP system. But the form is only installed on ERP system.
Are there any ideas how to solve this problem?
    Thanks.
