Solman_setup and maintenance optimizer configuration

Hi
We've newly installed Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 and we want to configure maintenance optimizer for approving SP. Is it mandatory to use solman_setup tcode or can we configure maintenance optimizer via tcode solution_manager and smsy.

IT better if u use Solman_setup because it will run a wizard and do the needful and in a proper manner but still if u are expert and have already done the setting in previous version then u can it urslf.

1) Create the system in solution manager (Tr.code-SMSY)
2) For this System to create the rfc destinations.
3) Create the logical component for system.
4) Maintain technical settings of OSS in the transaction code: OSS1
5) In TR code AISUSER maintain the user and OSS id
6) In DSWP transaction codeu2014in settings-global settings have to maintain OSS id and Password.

Maintenance Optimizer Configuration Guide

Hi All
I have a fully installed version of Solution Manager 4.0 SP12 and I am looking to configure the Maintenance Optimizer for monitoring our ECC and BW systems.
However, I feel that rather than using the wizards I need to set it up step by step.
My question, is there any documentation on how to set this up from Start to finish?

Maintenance Optimizer Configuration

Hello,
I have 2 issues with maintenance Optimizer. I am using Solution Manager Support Package 9. I applied the notes related to it including the 1024932 and 990534.
1. When i press the button Continue in step 1, I sometimes have a runtime error PXA_NO_FREE_SPACE. I read that I have to change the buffer size, but I don't know how i can do it.
2. When I don't have this runtime error, in the step 2 when i press the button Select files, it opens an error page "the page cannot be displayed".

For this you can ask to your BASIS Guy, If this server is test system, Then a simple restart will work in your condition.

Maintenance Optimizer configuration for SM7

Hi,
I am try to configure Mopz in my SM7.0 setup.
But at time of assigning S-user in tcode AISUSER, it is asking for "SAP Customer Number"
So my question is,
Is this the new field they mention in SM7.0? if yes then can anybod guide me how to configure it?

Problem with Maintenance Optimizer - Solman EHP1

Hi All,
I have a solution manager 7.0 ehp1 system and maintenance optimizer does not work at all.
Initial configurarion and Basic configuration has been done - Tcode : Solman_Setup
A solution has been created and systems have been assigned to it, however when i launch create new maintenance
transaction it shows us the solution and the systems assigned under it.If i select our Production system and click on next
it comes up an error, saying the table does not contain any data. Do i need to do the SLM configuration for MOPZ to work?
Has anyone seen this error earlier. Any inputs would be of great help.

Though the error does not give much insight. There are some warnings which tells that configuration has to be done
Please find the warnings attached in the email.
Not able to find an active SLM for selected managed systems
No configured SLM
No common SLM system is regsitered for Managed Systems
The system / systems - SID have not beed registered in SLM
Instance -type missing in SMSY for an application server instance of system .

I want the automatic calculated delta of available support packages and the actual support package level of my systems and for this i have to connect my DEV system and assign them to a logical component
1. How can i connect the DEV system to the logical component (if you can guide me through the steps )
2. As of installing Sol Man i havent created any solution manager landscape, now as you said sol man landscape would be used for connecting the DEV system to it. how can i do this ?

Maintenance Optimizer "local logical system is not defined"

hello, i would like to create a new maintenance transaction to upgrade from SAP ERP 6.0 to SAP ERP 6.0 Enhanced Package 4 i follow the steps in the "maintenance optimizer configuration guide" BUT when i click to create a new maintenance transaction i faced an error told me "local logical system is not defined"!!! so how i can define Local logical system?

This should be configuration issue, please check the description in the Implementation Guide (tr: SPRO) at following point:
SAP Solution Manager
- Basic Settings
   SAP Solution Manager System
    General Settings
     Maintain Logical Systems
After having maintained the logical systems, the error should not be displayed any longer.

Failed to download object via Maintenance optimizer

Hi
I am downloading the file "ST-PI 2005_1_700" via Tx. DSWP and Maintenance Optimizer. If I choose the file and see my Download Basket in Download Manager I am getting the stnadard error "You need Maintenance Optimizer in order to download the objects".
What is wrong, because I am usíng MO and the user has SAP_ALL profile?

Hi Axel,
What is the status of the file inside 'Download basket'. I am guessing that it's yet to be approved,
To approve the request, you have to confirm the download basket in Maintenance Optimizer.
In the step-3 'download file' inside maintenance optimizer first select 'Confirm files in Download basket'. then it will open a pop-up window showing files waiting to be approved inside download basket. Select the required files and select 'confirm download'. Then you will be bale to download files from the download manager.

Hi Experts,
When I use the Maintenance Optimizer and select a product version, I do not get any Systems and the relevant Logical Component so that I can select one of those that are displayed. Did I miss any configuration settings or is there anything else that I need to do. Please give me the checklist that I need to look into before selecting a product version in the maintenance optimizer. Please help me out of this.

Configuring Maintenance Optimizer issue

This is the first time I am configuring SM 4.0. I am done with installation, and want to conigure maintenance optimizer.
I followed the IMG guide step by step.
But after all done, there are no systems listed under the maintenance optimizer of my Solution Landscape.
Instead I get a message:
<b>Change requests cannot be displayed or created, because the RFC connection has errors, or is not maintained.
Check whether the RFC connection to the Change Man agement system is under the key CHARM_DEST (APPLI field in the DESTINAT field), in the view BCOS_CUST. You need authorization for the cross-client view/table maintenance (S_TABU_DIS and S_TABU_CLI).
Check the RFC connection in the transaction SM59. If your SAP Solution Manager system is also your Change Manager system, the internal connection must be 'NONE'. You need authorization for the administration of RFC connections (S_RFC_ADM).</b>
Meanwhile I have issue with my J2EE engine not starting due to some UME issues, which I am working on parallely.
Please do let me know what would be the issue.
I have followed the note 990534 and doen with the BC sets.
But I am not sure where am I making a mistake.
One more doubt is, does maintenance optimizer connect to the SAP service market place through SAPOSS??? and am I not seeing anu system because my SLD is down. Please bear with my ignorance, I am a little lost here.
I have completed the solution landscape, logical component, etc.

My current SP levels are:

SAP_ABAP - 0011
PI_BASIS 2005_11 - 0011
ST-PI 2005_11 - 0003
SAP_BW - 0011
SAP_AP - 0007
BBPCRM 5 - 0007
CPRXRPM - 0007
ST400 - 0010
ST-ICO - 0008
ST-SER - 0007
The issue is I did not connect to SAP yet, as I have only one RFC generated i.e. SAPOSS> Since my SAPRouter is not yet configured, I will connect to a valid SAPRouter once all the SM config is done.
I als got sone error in generating RFC for the main system when I used the wizard. I selected Change management and customizing directory and also selected Assign RFC for system monitoring.
I changed back the UME source to client 001, but still same.
Moreover the maintenance optimizer is not showing the satellite system.
I am really stuck.
Please let me know if you require more information.
I created the main system and defined the solution, as per the SPRO->Solution Manager -> Advanced Configuration -> Basic settings ->
I started this only after applying SP10.
Now I don see the systems both for Setup Solution monitoring and in maintenance optimizer.
WIll the system not reflect is the java ebngine is down???

Hi Duypm,
Its a long process to go.
First, Raise a message with SAP for SAPROUTER certificate if you are planning to use SNC. You need to provide a public IP of your SAPRouter machine in the message.
Second, Send the filled form to SAP
Configure SNC on SAPRouter
Configure OSS1 and SAPOSS rfc destination.
Then configure Maintenance Optimizer.

There are no stack configurations available in the Maintenance Optimizer

Hello,
I am trying to install Enhancement Pack 1 (EhP 1) on our DEV system, using SAINT in SAP NerWeaver 7.0.
I have downloaded the EHP1 and cpoied them into the "EPS\in" directory.
When I press the u201CStack Configurationu201D button, I get a pop-up that says, "There are no stack configurations available in the Maintenance Optimizer".
Does it require any files like .XML to load the files? Please let me know your suggestions.

what happened to us was we did not download the upgrade programs for EHP1. Make sure you download both SPs in note 1169247. The first one has the SPs and upgrades SPs for Solman 7.0 to EHP1. The second download for the SPs for EHP1).
Also, we did it manually without the using the button 'stack configuration. Hope this help.

Please go to service.sap.com/solutionmanager, click on the "maintenance optimizer" link, then a step-by-step guide is available there.
Another document is attached in Note 990534.
If you have further issues, Note 1024932 might be a good starting point.
