  • Error Code -OVM-1000 OVM Manager could not connect to {0}, please check

    Hi
    When i tried to import the template through OVM Manager it throws the follownig error.(It was working fine before)
    OVM Manager could not connect to {0}, please check the IP and Oracle VM agent password.
    I did the following trouble shooting
    1.Reset the OVS agent password but didnt work.
    2.I am able to import ISO files and created the shared disks.
    3.Checked the connectivity between OVM Manager to OVS server and checked /etc/hosts file,firewall settings ( disabled state in both) & timings also.
    But i couldnt pinpoint the exact issue. Can anybody help me out on this?

    Fixed it. Shutdown all the VMs and rebooted the base server. Configured the ovs-agent ( ovs-agent configure) again and restarted the ovs-agent.(ovs-agent restart). Now i am able to import the templates.
    Also OVM Manager shows all the VMs in shutdown status after reboot the base server and i fixed it used "Reset" button in OVM Manager.
    1) Click on the Virtual Machines tab found on the top left corner.
    2) Select the radio button of the appropriate virtual machine that has the incorrect status displayed.
    3) Click on the ‘More Actions:’ drop down box and select the option ‘Reset’
    4) Click the ‘Go’ button for the reset to take place.
    Once the ‘Go’ button is selected, the virtual machine will reset and display the appropriate virtual machine status.

  • OVM - 1000 OVM Manager could not connect

    Hi,
    I installed OVM following the installation guide. Every node can ping each other, but when I try to create a server pool i meet the following error:
    OVM - 1000 OVM Manager could not connect to 110.130.10.45, please check the IP and Oracle VM agent password.
    The IP is ok and connection too. I'm also sure that the agent password is correct. What other check I have to do?

    Hi,
    have a look @ following MOS Note:
    https://supporthtml.oracle.com/oip/faces/secure/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=469169.1&h=Y
    To debug communication problems with the agent.
    Furthermore make sure, that in your /etc/hosts the hostname does not apper in the 127.0.0.1 line.

  • Failed to push XML template when setup SMD Managed system

    Hi,
    when I setup a managed system in SMD, I receive the warning:
    XML Templates pushed : 0 successful, 1 failed
    Failed to push XML template to sv50761/TP4/10 (sv50761.RUV.DE) : com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: XMLParser: Bad Attribute value(:main:, row:10, col:79)(cause=com.sap.engine.lib.xml.pars
    er.ParserException XMLParser: Bad Attribute value (:main:, row:10, col:79))
    (Data Collect may fail due to missing templates)
    Do you still want to proceed ? (Setup operations may fail due to warnings above)
    when I check the xml-templates, at the mentioned row, there's the database-information: it shows "9.00.3068#" (a binary value, instead of #)
    when I check the database in SMSY there's "9.00.3068#" in version as well, I can't change it there manually, because datasource is TMS/RFC.
    In SLD the Version vor the database is displayed correct: 9.00.3068 (without #).
    Where does the # occur & how to delete it? How can we setup managed systems without the warning?
    kr, achim

    Just came across this issue and this snote fixed it.

    Tony Cool,
    Please don't post this in every forum you can spell. You also posted this as [email protected] in comp.databases.oracle.server.
    The only thing you should do is
    Look up the error messages in the online documentation and work from there.
    This are known errors, the solution is all over the Internet, there is really no need for you to request volunteers to deliver it on your doorstep for free.

    Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
    Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
    Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.

  • BW Post Upgrade 3.5 - Scenario with BW system not connected to R/3

    We have decided to upgrade our PRD BW (call it "BWP") in the following scenario:
    1. DB copy from BWP to BWP2;
    2. BWP2 keeps the connection with R/3 source system as well as users (data loads are done in this system during the upgrade to minimize downtime);
    3. In BWP, RFC connection to R/3 is changed (dummy host) to avoid overlapping problems with extracts: no data loads are done in BWP since the DB copy (1);
    4. Upgrading BWP to BW3.5
    5. New init delta loads on BWP
    Could there be any problems with this scenario (in the postupgrade stage) due to the fact that the connection with R/3 is not really active (I think for instance about transaction SGEN which could yield problems)?
    Thanks for your feedback.
    LauQ.

    Hi,
    A few comments for your steps:
    2. You need to change the RFC destination in R/3 to point to BWP2.
    5. You will need to do a few more things in BWP to reconnect it (if you want to keep BWP2). These include changing the logical system name and deleting/recreating the R/3 source system [make sure you have a dummy RFC host for the deletion], and re-transport datasource related objects.
    If you plan to delete BWP2 and re-use BWP, then you need to delete the old transaction data and reload after re-connecting. You will also need to move any changes made to BWP2 to BWP. Also you need to re-synch the master data too!
    SGEN is no issue.
    One thing that will help with the upgrade prep, ensure all transfer structures and rules are active before the copy and switch over. You will only have the option to delete them when you have the dummy host entry.
    I hope this helps,
    Mike

  • TSAM manager 11G not connecting to TSAM agent 1.1

    Hi
    I am having the following setup TUXEDO version 10 rel zero with TSAM 1.1 32 bit AIX connecting to
    TSAM Master 11G on Windows 2008 , I have setup the LMS server on the UBBCONFIG
    LMS SRVGRP=TSAMGROUP SRVID=1 MINDISPATCHTHREADS=1 MAXDISPATCHTHREADS=5
    CLOPT="-A -- -l hqstivoli01:8080/tsam/dataserver"
    and also exported the TMMONITOR=app,svc,sys,tran:: ,
    tail -f ULOG.051111 | grep TMMONITOR
    165224.hqsaixTRNAP!Z2212V.66781328.1.0: LIBTUX_CAT:6617: INFO:TMMONITOR (app,svc,sys,tran::) was parsed successfully
    Now the TSAM console shows the domain as red with no data even though LMS has processed many transactions ,
    while restarting the TSAM manager , I got the following DERBY database error ;
    2011-05-13 09:26:09.226 GMT : could not listen on port 1527 on host localhost : java.net.BindException : Address already in Use : JVM_Bind
    Any idea on why TSAM is showing no data ,
    Thank you
    Praveen

    Praveen,
    You configuration format is correct for TSAM 1.1 agent. Do you find any relevant error messages in ULOG? There should be some error messages if LMS fails to connect TSAM manager.
    You don't need to restart TSAM manager when you configure a new Tuxedo domain. I don't know if you also stop Derby database when you shutdown you TSAM manager, by default 1527 port is used by Derby.

    Yu Wang

    We need o verify the status of the new DB.
    issue the following OS commands
    lsnrctl status
    lsnrctl service
    COPY results from above then PASTE all back here.
