SolMan vs Wily

Hi,
The SolMan was installed while ago.
Now we want to configure the Wily for J2EE systems monitoring.
I have installed the "Introscope Enterprice Manager 8" using the the guide available at marketplace. I have also deplyed the agent's SCA file on SolMan.
It did not ask me anything about the SolMan. I am wandering how the SolMan will know about it.
The only thing I found it that go to SOLMAN_SETUP and choose "Landscape Data" under Basic configuration for Wily Manager.
Then choose "Manual Configuration" to import the "Wily Introscope Agent". Once this is successfull then I am good to push the agent to managed system.
Am I in the right direction?
Please let me know if I am missing anything.
Regards,
SC

Hello,
Everything you need to know to configure Wily Introscope in Solman is located in the media library at
http://service.sap.com/diagnostics.
You really should be reviewing this documentation before you started, however it should guide you to complete the installation properly.

  • SOLMAN SMD Wily Introscope: no dashboards are available

    Hi!
I would like to use the SAP SMD functions and Wily Introscope 8.0
    I am on SAP SOLMAN 7.0 EhP1.
The problem I have: when I start Wily Introscope no dashboards are available.
Can some one help me to solve this problem?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Axel

You might have already checked the SAP Note 797147 and   installation guide for Wily I 8.0 at
    http://service.sap.com/instguides -> Installation & Upgrade Guides -> SAP Components -> SAP Solution Manager -> Release 7.0 -> Wily Introscope 8.0 - Installation Guide
From the installation guide could you confirm section ..."Check That Introscope Is Running Properly"
Also confirm you have set Java VM Parameters...
I think you need to check the Installation guide thoroughly.
Let us know if you have any error log or something....
    All the best.

  • SolMan and Wily 9

Hello -  I need to find out what is the minimum version of SolMan needed to in order to be compatible with the full Wily SED version 9?  We are currently on 7.7.1 and there is a corporate mandate to get everything integrated with Wily for log scraping and such.  Would anyone happen to have the answer?
    Thank You

    Hello Brett,
Wily Enterprise Manager 9.X is not advisable unless your Solution Manager is 7.01 SP26  or  7.1
The Introscope Agent 9 is not compatible with Solution Manager 7.01, only with 7.1. It will be available in the service marketplace around april.
In your scenario you should use at least Solman 7.01 SP26, Wily 9 and Wily Introscope Agent 8.X.X (latest is 8.2.3.5 according to the marketplace). There's no problem using different ISAGENT and Wily EM versions.

  • SolMan Wily discovery issue

    Hello
On my SolMan setup my system cannot find my CA Wily installation.
I installed it into E:\usr\sap\CCMS\Wily, Windows service is working fine, I also installed management services without any problems but Solman is not recognizing it.
My Solman is 7.1 SP12 and I also installed latest patches to Java stack.
How can my Solman recognize Wily?
    Best regards

    Hi Kaan,
1st Check Wily and agents are running.
2nd Check Maintenance mode is set to OFF in agent admin
3rd Share the details in INFO in above screenshot.
    OR
Delete users SM_INTERN_WS and SM_EXTERN_WS and delete all logical ports using system preparation steps and then re-run these steps

Hugo Amo is correct, you have to check the wily configuration on solman_setup 3.1 (Configure CA wily Introscope), there you can see the status of connection between solman and wily.
for a correct configuration just follow that steps:
    1.- click on edit button
2.- click on "import exiting Installation"
3.- on popup enter the path where wily is installed like F:\usr\sap\ccms\instroscope
4.- click on user management and select flag for connection user
    5.- save
you have to get the status green like this one

  • I need to install the SOLMAN, in my landscape or another server ??

    Hi experts,
My landscape is the typical landscape; Production Server, Test Server and development Server.
I need to install the SAP Solution Manager; This installation would have to do it in some of my existing servers (Production, Test or Development) or it would have to do it in another one?
    Thank's
    Douglas V.

    Hi Douglas,
Before deciding where to install Solman also take into account below checks -
1] Incase you will be using Solman diagnostics+Wily introscope functionality of solman, I would certainly recommend to install solman on a separate host as these tools hog lot of memory resources.
2] For basic use of solman - EWA, install keys generation, ccms...you can think of installing on existing box - but still it should be strong in configuration. As SAP is adding lots of features in EHP packs and sooner or later you will need to use those.
My 2 cents. (rewards points if useful)
    Thanks

  • Wily Introscope for SOLMAN 7.1

    Hi All,
We are configuring SAP Solution Manager 7.1
I have few doubts regarding Wily Introscope.
    1. Is it necessary to install Wily Introscope on SAP SOLMAN 7.1?
    2. Is it installed already with SOLMAN or need to be installed manually?
    3. I need details about licensing policy of Wily Introscope.
    4. If it is necessary to install please provide suitable link for installing it.
and I have one more question.
We getting waring message for Single Sign On and WEB Services Logical Port Creation in Managed System Configuration Step No. 8 Configure Automatically.
Shall we proceed with warning. or it needs to be fully performed without warning.
    Please guide us.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ishan

Ishan trying to answer all your doubts:
    1. Is it necessary to install Wily Introscope on SAP SOLMAN 7.1?
If you need to implement RCA then only Wily Introscope is required.
    2. Is it installed already with SOLMAN or need to be installed manually?
It has to be installed manually..Just follow the standard guide..
    3. I need details about licensing policy of Wily Introscope.
Good Question..I think there should be someone in your orgnisation who looks after the licencing..Ask him to give  a call to SAP..
    4. If it is necessary to install please provide suitable link for installing it.

  • Is Wily Introscope a requirement with Solman 7 ehp1

We are finishing and upgrade from 3.2 to 7 EHP1.
Due to limited system capacity we have not installed the Wily Introscope product.  At this time we were not planning on using its functionality.  We are wanting to keep the basic functionality of solman 3.2 plus add the MOPZ piece.
I'm using the solman_setup tcode to go through the basic config wizard now.  I've reached the Landscape Data step where it is asking for the Wily Introscope info.  Since it doen't exist, can I bypass this step?
    Thanks for your advice.
    Laurie McGinley

    Thanks Jarad,
That is what I thought (it isn't required), but needed to double check before I bypassed that bit of the setup.
    Appreciate the quick response too!

  • Solman E2E diagnostics and Wily Introscope.

Does anybody have any time scales for setting up Solman Diagnostcis and Wily Introscope. I have a quote for this work and would like peoples past experience of time scales for this.
I have a 3 system landscape PRD, QUA, DEV and obviously SOLMAN.
I need  to set up the SMD agents on each server involved and install the required Wily components

    HI,
If you have downloaded all the necessary s/w then you complete the E2E RCA setup in 1 day for one system(including buffers)  including Wily.
E2E RCA config, can be completed as part of solman_setup. Once you have completed your initial and basic setup, solman is ready for managed system config.
I would recommend following timeline including buffer
two - three  days for Basic configuration and initial configuration.
Installation of SMD takes less than 20 mins/ host. Wily installation also should not take more than an hour
Managed system config - this depends on which application are you configuring. in case of SAP application, you should be able to finish one SID in one day (including buffer)
    BR,
    Shyam

  • Error while installing Wily Introscope

    Hi All,
I have installed introscope enterprise manager 8 in solution manager 7.0 (SP15). i have follwed the below steps:
    1. Installation and Setup of SAP Solution Manager Server:
upgrading SAP Solution Manager Diagnostics (SMD) package
                   running Diagnostic setup wizard
    everything went successful.
in the next step of wily introscope installation i have followed the below steps:
    2. installing CA Wily Introscope
               I.   Download Third-Party External Component Package from CA Wily
II.   elected Platform Independent Introscope Installer
               III.  Extracted the Introscope Installer
IV. Added the External Component Package
              V. Started the Installer
              VI. Verified the Installation
              VII.Installed the SAP Management Modules
VIII.Ran the Enterprise Manager from OS level (AIX)
IX. Checked That Introscope Is Running Properly
              X.  Extracted the Introscope Agent
              XI.  Created an AutoProbe Connector
XII.  Activated the Agent: Setting up Java VM Parameters -
here I am facing the issue
in the installation manual it has been given to add the below java parameters to server node:
    -Xbootclasspath/p:/usr/sap/ccms/wily/connectors/connector.jar:/usr/sap/ccms/wily/Agent.jar
    -Dcom.wily.introscope.agentProfile=/usr/sap/ccms/wily/IntroscopeAgent.profile
    -Dcom.wily.introscope.agent.agentName=<AgentName>
i have added the above parameters and resterted the server then the java engine is not coming up. conflicting with the first parameter. once I remove that parameter I am able to up the java engine.
without being added the above parameters " the agent will not start".
    please help me in this.
    thanks in advance
    Mohan K

    Mohan,
I have the same problem. That is I set up the SMD on the managed system and completed the Managed system configuration through Solman which Installed Wily Introscope. With Wily enabled , the Java server process does not start.
If I delete the 3 lines that have wily in it, it starts OK.
How did you resolve this problem. Please let me know in detail.
    Thank you.

  • SSO from Solution Manager to Wily Enterprise Manager issue

    Hi,
We are facing problem in SSO from Solution Manager to Wily Enterprise Manager. We have done the configuration as per the Wily Enterprise Guide- "Introscope Version 8 Installation Guide For SAP" Page 38.
Our Solution Manager system is running on AIX platform and Wily Enterprise Manager is on Windows 2008.
This is what we are trying
SOLMAN Production Client --> SOLMAN_WORKCENTER --> INTROSCOPE WORKSTATION --> this opens a new browser page and from there we click on Start Introscope -->
Result --> SSO doesn't work, still we get login window.
Introscope Enterprise Manager logs says -->
9/12/11 10:47:17 PM BST [WARN] [Manager] Single sign on failed: No SAP single sign on ticket was found in the request header.
Note: Another Solution Manager system in our landscape (on windows 2008 platform) is connected to same Wily Enterprise Manager (windows 2008) and from this solution manager SSO to Wily Enterprise Manager is working.
Please help me with your expertise to solve this problem.
    Best Regards
    Davinder

    Hello Singh,
Could you check if you have maintained these parameters in instacne profile ?
    From SCN post -> http://scn.sap.com/thread/969538
    Hi Hector,
To configure SSO as per initial setup guide, please check your profile parameters in your Solution Manager as below:
You have set up SSO, see also:
SAP Note 817529: Checking the SSO Configuration
Installation Guide and Security Guide for SAP Solution Manager
Create the following profile parameters in the instance profile:
    login/create_sso2_ticket = 2
    login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1
icm/host_name_full = fully qualified server name
This parameter must be attributed to the fully qualified server name (for example wdfd002568.wdf.sap). The name must contain at least two periods. See also SAP Note 434918.
    Hope this helps,
