SolMon (3.2), EWA report as attachment

Hi Guys,
we are using SOLMON 3.2, when the early watch report (from quality server) is delivered to our inbox, it's been delivered as attachment.
However from our production(SOLMON) box it is delivering normally. when i checked for a note in service.sap, i found one note(932303). this note says that this is not a problem. if so how-come we are getting the correct report from our production SOLMON box.
please help me ASAP.

You didn't read the note Properly, in the note they have mentioned that you will not have problem for Outlook Express. But you may face problem for Microsoft Outlook. And moreover they have given a Correction Instruction.
Applying this will solve your problem.

Hello Mahesh
The main technical difficulty is the fact that many a email servers reject HTML content as a attachment. Plus the fact that the EWA report uses IGS services if opened as a HTML page will fail all the time since the email is not connected to the IGS server of the Solution Manager.
Hence a mail body is created instead of a attachment.
I hope that you now understand the technicality of the issue.

May be a simple question but I am new to Solution Manager and every morning we get emails from an email adress attached ewa reports. How can I change the e-mail adress
that these emails are coming from?

Were you able to achieve this. The SM:EXEC SERVICES job and the SCOT job are currently run by user ID: XYZ and the the EWA
is set up by the user ID XYZ.
I changed the following:
Deleted SM:EXEC SERVICES and the SCOT job and recreated them to be run by user ID ABC (the one I want to change to).
It still uses XYZ as the sender (not ABC) because as the configuration is set up by user XYZ, it is creating SM:EXEC SERVICES
on the fly to be run by user ID XYZ.
Please let me know what I am missing. What else need to be changed ? Thanks.

Enterprise Portal EWA Report

Hi,
I would like to know the reason why the JCO part is not included after the extraction of EWA Report on Solution Manager? What could be the reason behind this? What are the possible solutions to eliminate this type of issue? The customer actually is complaining about their Enterprise Portal EWA Report because the JCO part is not included on it. I need your expert advice on this.

Couldnot generate NON_ABAP EWA report

Hello Experts,
I couldnot generate EWA report for NON_ABA Ewa..
I have setup the disgnostics configuration..
Solman and Satellite connection established. smg agent and Introscope agent connected to solman and both of them running.
I couldnot get the EWA report in Operations -> Solution Reporting ->
Services -> Activities -> Schedule Reporting.
When I schedule the Job and execute the Job it says like "No data for
reporting available"
Please find the below Job(SM_REP:000000000100100_0378_01_) log details.

EWA report for non-abap systems

Hi Gurus,
Good day.
I would like to ask, what are the steps that I'm going to do when configuring an EWA report for non-abap systems i.e portal. Do Ineed to install SMD agents on my non-abap systems and connect to diagnostic agent of solman?
Or do I need to install wily introscope agents on my non-abap systems and connect to diagnostic agent?
It is both? Which one?
It would be also great if you can provide me links/documents in relation to my queries.
Please do note that the current version of solman system is 7.1

Hi Virgilio,
To generate an EWA report for Java stack system,
you need to do following:
1. install smd agent (diagnostics agent) on Java stack system
you can install this agent standalone, details see note 1234384.
The installation Guide is also attached in note 1234384.
2. finish Initial Config and Basic Configuration in solman_setup for
solman system, the setting about Enterprise Manager is also included
in these configurations, please ensure EM is running properly.
3. start managed system configuration for the EP system in solman_setup
after selecting the system type 'Java', please finish all steps as
suggested in which step. The Step 'Wily Introscope Configuration' is to
install Introscope Agent which is used for Java stack system. More infor
please read the installation Guide of Enterprise Manager and note
797147.
4. You should be able to see data in Wily Introscope and Workload
analysis via
Root Cause Analysis->End-to-End Analysis->select the system->Workload
Analysis
5. If the EP system is added in a solution, the EWA task for this system
should be shown up in solman's SDCCN.

I am getting EWA as HTML text in mail. Is it possible to get that report as attachment in mail.
I could not find any information regarding an automatic mail with an attachement.

Hi,
The EWA/SLR adjusts its reported KPIs according to the product it
detects. See SAP Note 721643 for a list of KPIs/Products.
According to this, the SLR follows the EWA and stops collecting the
R/3 related KPIs. They will stay in the report until they run out of
the reported time frame of 12 months. There is no way to delete these
manually in an easy way without loosing all other KPI histories as well.
As reported in the note 721643, the missing KPI's cannot be collected
anymore.
Next level support have provided the following information about getting
this information:
There is something similar using the Central Performance History (CPH)
from CCMS. Customer could collect the Dialog Reponse Times per instance
but there is no node in CCMS for the complete System.
It is not exactly like KPIs, but it is the only possibility we can offer
you. I have attached a screenshot of and example so that you can check.

I have configured system in SOLMAN to gnerate EWA report, all the steps have been done succesfully.
but the report is blank when in checked, what could be the reason.
searched in SDN and check all the possiblities.

Hello Saad,
Depends if it is really a blank EWA or just not generated due to missing trust center settings in word - for that you could check SAP Note 199123.
If ti is ABAP and the icon is a document ( not red, yellow, green, grey rated) then please review sap Notes 1496931 and 1415702, depending on what SP level you are on. If it is a Java system and is Grey rated it will also be blank, then you need to check SAP Note 1332428 for the T/S guide attached andcheck Note 762696.
These are the most common reasons an EWA might be blank.
Also check the session in DSA and see if anything more comes to light.
However if this doesn't help resolve, please provide as many details as you can.

Short dump when running EWA report

Missing data in weekly EWA report

Hello SDN,
I have run weekly EWA reports for our productive ECC5 system through SolMan 3.1 for some time, but recently I've noticed that some information is missing from the report.
Section 11.2 (Response Times) includes a graph showing the Top 5 transactions. The transactions are listed as Transaction 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 on the graph and there used to be a table below the graph that showed that (e.g.) Transcation 1 was MMBE, Transaction 2 was LT27, etc..
For some reason, that table no longer appears and the graph is of no little use on its own, because I have no idea what transactions it refers to.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi Ragu,
The strange thing is that this table used to be displayed up until around 6 weeks ago, when it just disappeared off the EWA report. Nothing was changed (knowingly) to cause this. Also, the graph that the table refers to is still included in the report, it's just the table that's disappeared. If anything had been changed, I would have expected both graph and table to change.

EWA reports for non abap systems

Hello gurus,
I am facing a problem with configuration of EWA reports for SAP NW Portal.
I have already configured EWA for abap systems, and those are running good on weekly basis. but i have problem with configuration of reports for java systems.
So far, i have installed an SMD agent and CA on my EP-satellite system. I have also configured and SMD server on my Sollution Manager and registered the SMD agent on SMD server and installed Willy Introscope on SMD server.
I am using a central SLD which is running on different host as Solution Manager. I did all the configuration (smsy_setup, configuration of sld_data_supplier etc... )
I have also created the system in SMSY, matched the smsy with SLD (data source SLd)and assigned Logical component to java system.
>>> But when i want do define data collection in the SMD for Gargage Collection (task in scheduler) i cannot see host of my portal system in the SMD.
In the SMD i can see just the abap systems for which the EWA are being already generated.
(i have done also configuration>>connecting managed sytem to the SMD, but i still cannot connect my Portal system to SMD)
Do you have any idea, what i have done wrong?
My solution manager is running on Sap NW 7.0, SPS16,

I was following the enclosed guide from the note: 976054, but it doesn't help to solve my issue.
And when i want to permorm the setup for the managed systems,(http://<host><port>/smd -> diagnostic setup->managed systems ->setup wizard) i can not see there my Portal systems, just the abap systems.

EWA Report with yellow rating and NO data

Hi,
We have upgraded the solution manager to EHP1 in June. Befor that my EWA was working perfectly fine.
Our EWA report (after upgrade) is getting generated and has a rating yellow but it contains No data.......shows data oly for hardware capacity even no other performance factors included in the report.
I checked settings in satellite system as well as in solution manager. everthing is working fine. All RFCs, service defination, word setting everthing is fine.
I need your assistance to resolve this issue o priority as its EWA for PRD isnt getting generated.

- Setup of Diagnostics including BI
- Setup wizard for this system has been executed successfully
- Agents have been set up and are running
- Periodic extractors are running successfully

I have a problem on my EWA report :

and they do not recommned any SAP note. These are the only things recommended in EWA:
Parameter EVENT
To provide special functionality or control system behavior, Oracle has a number of events. These can be activated in the configuration file and/or dynamically in the server manager or sqlplus.
In general, these events and parameters should be activated on request only. When they are no longer needed, they should be removed. However, it might be necessary to activate some events during normal database operation.

So I am not sure, how to check if I should remove this 10091 or leave it there. What is that special case that this parameter needs to be present ?
