'Solo latch' function in Logic 9?

In Pro Tools there's a useful function which allows you to turn 'solo latch' on and off. Is there anything like that in Logic 9? I realise you can drag down the arrange window and turn 'solo' on and off for multiple tracks, but that's not quite the same, as the tracks you want to switch to 'solo' may be at opposite ends of the mixer or arrangement window.

Yes, sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I've just found what I was looking for: selecting 'solo' on several tracks in succession - and in conjunction with the 'alt' key - seems to be Logic's equivalent of having 'solo latch' turned off in Pro Tools.

  • Message determination and Partner function LS (Logical system) for PO

    Hi,
    I have worked in the past with vendors (VN) as partner roles in a PO, with the message to create an EDI outpout to Partner Type: LI (Vendor), and this works succesfully.
    Now, the idea was to use in EDI, a Partner Type: LS (Logical system) as a receiver of EDI messages (message types: ORDERS) for inbound Purchase Orders to the Partner.
    So, we have set up a respective message condition, with Partner Function: LS  (Logical System), in transaction: MN04 (Create Output-condition records).
    A. When we use ME59N and create a PO with ref. from a PR (created from a sales order), the message determination works well, it reads the condition set in MN04 (condition records for messages), and creates a message (with output type for EDI , medium: 6, and partner function LS: Logical system). Message is created and idoc is sent to partner.
    B. When we try with ME21N, ME21 and we create the PO with ref. to the same PR, either by entering manually the PR in the document overview of ME21N or by selecting the PR (without entering the PR number), i.e with date, the message is not created in the PO.
    Company code is assigned to purchase organization, and so is purchase organization to plant.
    Any idea why there is no automatic message determination in the case of the transaction: ME21N?
    There is a single message condition that is to be read for both cases (trans: ME59N and ME21N).
    Note: If I try ME21N, and enter the output type and partner (=Logical System), manually, I receive a warning message :
    VN006 (Partner XXXX does not exist for partner function LS). If I accept this warning message, then message is saved- idoc is sent.
    However you can not assign a partner function LS to a vendor, in vendor master data, because of message CZ 327 (Can not use this partner role).
    Anyone with similar experience? Thank you for your advice.

    Hi,
    I well understand that the receiving partner can be a partner: Vendor (LI).
    I have seen that working.
    However, in the Partner Profiles (trans: WE20), the receiver was created as a Logical System (LS).
    We want the partner Logical system (LS) to receive the idoc for purchase order (ORDERS).
    After that, I think that the idea is that the LS can generate an idoc for a sales order creation that will then outbound to another partner.  I think that this is the concept.
    The issue is that I have seen that the POs created with transaction: ME59N, have received from message determination (trans: MN04) the message with partner LS (automatically), and the idoc of the purchase order (ORDERS) have reached the partner LS.
    The question is why the message determination fails when creating the PO from trans: ME21N or ME21, with reference to the PR. Message condition is the same and message determination procedure is the same for both cases.
    There is no issue with customizing for the LS in trans: WE20
    (Port processing agent is Active for LS and ORDERS have the proper processing code for application EF).
    I hope I am helping more with this.

  • Does Apple allow functionality between Logic Pro and Airport Express

    That's it... Does Apple allow functionality between Logic Pro and Airport Express.
    If not, Why not. It seems like such a logical Apple type solution. I looked and find it difficult to believe nobody has asked the question...

    There is your solution: http://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/

  • Is there a note repeat function on Logic Pro?

    Just switched to Logic Pro but I am used to sequencing with a MPC i.e. note repeat Is there a note repeat function in Logic? It can be helpful when sequencing drums! If not, is there some other software that allow to to use note repeat on the logic instruments? Thanks

    Hi,
    press CMD-8 to open the environment window. Select "new - arpeggiator"
    Now think how you want to trigger the arpeggiator. Do you want to trigger it with a MIDI Region? Or do you want to trigger it with live MIDI input (from a keyboard or so)?
    Maybe you also have to select "new - physical input"
    You can pull cables inside the environment window. pull a cable from the source trck or source input to the arpeggiator. Then pull another one from the arpeggiator to the drum track you want to trigger.
    Now select the arpeggiator and set up the speed (1/8, 1/16 - what you want). Look in the manual for "arpeggiator".
    Now the master-hint: The arpeggiator only functions when logic is running. So when stop or pause is pressed, no arpeggio So, start your song, only press 1 key and voila: there are the manymany drumdrumdrum bangbangs.
    Have Fun, and good luck with the setup - i tried some time to get this right.

  • Logic Pro X has changed solo/mute functionality

    I have just updated Logic from 9 to X. I've now discovered that the mute/solo functionality has been changed. I use to be able to select regions and then hit s or m on the keyboard and then the regions would solo or mute. Now the s and m keys seem to be only associated with track that is highlighted and therefore mute/solo the entire track. This very frustrating. Is there a way to change this back to Logic 9 behavior?
    Thanks.

    It's just the key command that has been changed. You can change it back. There might be a Logic 9 key command set, I don't remember, but if there isn't you can open L9, export your key commands and import them into X, or just change the ones you miss.

  • Export Audio to Movie - where is that function in Logic 9?

    I have noticed that a very useful function in my Logic Pro 8 (version 8.0.2) options/movie/export audio to movie is not found in the Logic 9 version. One of my friends has this version (and an Intel Mac) but I cannot help him working with music and video - I cannot find it anywhere in the Logic 9 menus. Can you help?
    Best, Peter Danstrup

    I just opened a quicktime movie. Added an audio track, and am looking for the option indicated in the manual: "Choose File > Export Audio to Movie". Upstream it's indicated that this option only appears if a movie is present. My movie is present, but still this option does not appear?
    Ideas?

  • Is there a "paste insert" function in Logic?

    Hi all - I'm a Logic user with a Final Cut Pro background.  I am looking for something similar to what in the video world is called a "Paste Insert".  I would like to be able to seect a bunch of regions in logic and (for example) paste them to the start of a song in such a way as to push everything else up.
    I hope that makes sense.
    I am also wondering what effect this has on any automation.
    Thanks

    Hi
    Check out the Edit:Cut/Insert Time functions. I think that the "Splice" option will do what you want. Generally, the automation is copied/moved as needed.

  • In built eval function for Logical expression?

    I want to create a eval function to evaluate logical string expression like a==b?true:false which comes as a String. Is there anything provided by Flex

    If you have EXP utility installed on your machine, a button trigger you can do:
    HOST('EXP SCOTT/TIGER FILE=C:\Backup.dmp TABLES=(EMP, DEPT)');This will work both in client/server and web deployed, but in web deployed forms it will run on the application server and not the client machine.
    To run it on the client machine you must use CLIENT_HOST.

  • Standard function or logic required

    Hi all,
    I have one  number (9876), now i need to get the sum of this number.That is 98765 that is 35.so i need to extract 3+5 = 8. si finalli i need get 8
    can anybody give me some logic (sample code) or some predefiend functions for this.
    Many Thanks,

    Hi,
    Take a look at function module 'BKK_COMPUTE_SUM_OF_DIGITS'.  I'm not sure you should use the function module directly (CAUTION: It is not released by SAP!), but you can use the same logic or copy its source code for use in your own method/function module.
    *---- calculate sum of digits for given number with maximum 4 digits --
      field-symbols <f>.
      data: l_ref(4) type n,
            l_sum    type i value 0.
      l_ref = i_number.
      assign l_ref+0(1) to <f>.
      l_sum = l_sum + <f>.
      do 3 times.
        assign <f>+1 to <f>.
        l_sum = l_sum + <f>.
      enddo.
    Here's another way for you to consider.  It is different than the code within the SAP function module but same concept (without field-symbols):
    PARAMETERS: p_num(4) TYPE n.
    DATA: l_sum  TYPE i,
          l_next TYPE i.
    l_sum = p_num(1).
    DO 3 TIMES.
      l_next = sy-index.
      l_sum = l_sum + p_num+l_next(1).
    ENDDO.
    WRITE: /1 'The digits of', p_num, 'add up to:', l_sum.

  • Audio loopback function in Logic?

    In attempting to answer another question a forum participant stated that Logic has a "loopback" function for audio such that the output of a standalone virtual instrument can be looped back into a Logic Bus or Aux channel without involvement of an audio interface or its software - - or any other software (such as SoundFlower or Jack OSX). Unfortunately he did not say exactly how to accomplish this. I would very much like to know if this is possible and, if it is, I would be most appreciative of a detailed description of how to accomplish it.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Still not clear:
    How do I route the audio output of an external standalone host application to an Instrument or Audio track within Logic. The Vienna Ensemble's outputs are limited to the audio interface's channels, built-in audio or a bus I create within Vienna Ensemble. Vienna Ensemble - when used as a standalone - does not "see" Logic as a potential audio output object. It receives MIDI from Logic via the IAC bus.
    Is there a way in which Logic can be made to see the Vienna Ensemble's audio outputs? Vienna Ensemble can also be used as a plugin - - something I already know how to do.
    The advantage of using it as a standalone is that one can use it as a plugin and standalone or with multiple standalones simultaneously - - with each standalone having a separate memory partition and all these memory partitions separate from that inhabited by the plugin - - thus providing a way of exceeding the 3GB limit for loading samples imposed by 32-bit software. No doubt I am missing something.

  • J-K-L functionality in Logic?

    Does such an ability exist, or is there any kind of cheat to simulate it?
    I'm thinking of the built-in function in many apps (and typically mapped to the J, K, and L keys; also often used in conjunction with a jog/shuttle controller), to scrub-play a timeline both forwards and backwards at fixed speeds (say 1/4, 1/2, 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x).
    Would love to be able to work that way in Logic -- but is there a technical reason why such functionality wouldn't be practical in this particular app?
    Thanks,
    John Bertram
    Toronto

    I see what you mean about the MIDI part -- in fact, the first few projects I did with Logic were pretty much all-MIDI.
    Ironically, the one I'm working on now is all-Audio, using several dozen .aif files I've dragged onto individual tracks, and from which I'll be grabbing, copying to new tracks, and re-arranging countless bits and pieces, then outputting new .aif files of these new, composite demos.
    And it's only with this current project that I suddenly missed having that back-and-forth, slow-and-fast, multi-speed (in fixed increments) playability.
    Unfortunately, it sounds like in Logic, for "J-K-L", I'm "S-O-L" -- at least for now!
    Cheers,

  • Error TypeError: null has no such function "getAppView" logical transform script version 4.1.0.866

    Hello,
    I am using Oracle Data Modeler version 4.1.0.866 and when I created a transform script in object logical, motor Oracle Nasnhorm give the error TypeError: null has no such function "getAppView".
    The code is:
    var guipkgs = JavaImporter(java.lang, java.awt, java.awt.event, java.awt.Window, Packages.javax.swing ,java.lang, Packages.javax.swing.border);
    with (guipkgs) {
        log_rep = new Packages.oracle.dbtools.crest.swingui.LogReport(model.getAppView());
        log_rep.setName("CONTADOR");
        var cont = 0;
        var text = "";
    entities = model.getDesign().getLogicalDesign().getEntitySet().toArray();
    for (var t = 0; t<entities.length;t++){
      entity = entities[t];
        Name = entity.getName();
        cont = cont + 1;
        text = text + " " + Name + "\n";
    text = text + cont + "\n";
                log_rep.setLog(text);
        log_rep.showModalDialog(new java.awt.Dimension(1300, 550));
    Already you can not use log_rep = new Packages.oracle.dbtools.crest.swingui.LogReport(model.getAppView());? Is there any alternative?
    This error does not come with previous versions.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    I modified the script add following at the beginning of script:
    model = model.getDesign().getLogicalDesign();   and carry on the error TypeError: null has no such function "getAppView".
    var guipkgs = JavaImporter(java.lang, java.awt, java.awt.event, java.awt.Window, Packages.javax.swing ,java.lang, Packages.javax.swing.border);
    with (guipkgs) {
        model = model.getDesign().getLogicalDesign();

        cont = cont + 1;
        text = text + " " + Name + "\n";
    text = text + cont + "\n";
                log_rep.setLog(text);
        log_rep.showModalDialog(new java.awt.Dimension(1300, 550))
    Any idea?

  • BASIC FUNCTIONS OF LOGIC.

    Hi, I am trying to find a easy to follow guide or someone who can tell me how to use the basics of logic express, i find the manual not much help.
    basically all i want to do is upload an mp3 or several and mix them, edit them, cut and move things or speed up or slow down the tracks. I would like to import a track, then put on markers through the track, so i can then select certain parts and change them or move them or cut them. Also would like to edit using 2 or more tracks so i can edit them together.
    I have used Sound Studio which is just a 1 channel mixer and that is very easy, however i am finding Logic hard to get to grips with. I cant even find a good tutorial out there,
    any help would be appreciated.
    thank you
    Kris

    Hi Kris,
    Logic has a steep learning curve. With the right tutorial you can cut down the time needed to understand the basics from weeks to hours. Check out this tutorial to start with:
    http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/logic9101
    I'd highly recommend going through it... it will save you a lot of time!
    Then depending on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go, there are some amazing more advanced tutorials which take you step-by-step into how to use these features.
    There's a current promotion at macprovideo at the moment (I do work there, but am not on commission or anything like that for recommending their tuts)...
    so, if you're interested in buying the tut as an HD download this code gives you 33% off until 20th October:
    http://www.macprovideo.com/cart/code/10GreenSale33
    This code gives saves 25% on cost of monthly online subscription (online access to ALL tutorials on the site):
    https://www.macprovideo.com/plans/new/pro25
    To answer your question...
    Yes, you can import mp3s to a Logic project. Simply drag them into the Arrange area (Logic will create audio tracks for each) or the Bin. They will be converted from mp3s to aiff (non compressed audio format).
    Create audio tracks if you need to.
    Drag a file from the Bin to an audio track.
    Use the scissor tool to cut up the regions.
    Add markers from the Options > Marker menu (but markers I expect have a different function to Sound Studio?) - you don't need to create markers in order to select, cut, edit audio regions.
    In what way do you want to speed them up? To implement a constant speed change (e.g. change the overall tempo of the file), or to speed up or slow down over time (gradual change in tempo).
    Thanks

  • Function module logic

    Hi Gurus,
    I know the method of creating function module and basically that to extract data from many tables. Though I am not clear what sort of business logics we can incorporate into it while extracting. Can anyone pls tell me some scenarios? Is it really taking update/transfer rules to extraction level?
    Thks
    Suneth

    Hi Semage,
    Basically, you would use a FM to extract when you need data from different tables, and it's impossible to do it in a view. Suppose you need to get data from table Z and add some fields from table Y, but if in table Y you don't find the correct entry, you need to check table X. That is impossible to do it with a view, unless you take the three tables to BW and make the calculations there.
    Also, using a FM you can have a delta datasource using proper delta, not using generic delta (if the code is correct, it can be like Business Content delta).
    Hope this helps.

    Diego

  • Implement Function module logic in BI

    Hi all,
    the bellow is the DataSource FM code i wanted to implement same in the BI side, instead system date user wants to enter the date according to the user entry date the calculation should happen
    if t_tab-net_d < sy-datum.
                  if t_bsid-shkzg = 'S'.
                    if t_bsid-dmbtr > 0.
                     t_tab-due_v = t_tab-due_v + t_bsid-dmbtr.
                      t_due-due_v = t_bsid-dmbtr.
                    endif.
                  else.
                    if t_bsid-dmbtr < 0.
                     t_tab-due_v = t_tab-due_v - t_bsid-dmbtr.
                      t_due-due_v = t_bsid-dmbtr * -1.
                    endif.
                  endif.
    In BI i have the t_tab-net_d,shkzg,dmbtr in my cube. now how can i calculate the due_v at report level.
    Regards,
    Kiran

    above is allready there in production and now user want to enter the date to caluculate
    below is also the logic of FM user want to implement this at BI side
                  if due_temp is initial or due_temp >= t_tab-net_d.
                    due_temp = t_tab-net_d.
                    t_tab-due_m = sy-datum - t_tab-net_d.
                  endif.
                endif.
    here due_temp = sy-datum.
    Please let me know how can i implement this in BI side
